I walked into Triumph a broken and beaten
ex-athlete. Another attempt to grasp a modicum amount of what I had lost. Joe Fonseca rehabbed me and assigned a nutrition plan. I've lost 30lbs plus, and I am moving into the body conditioning phase.
I'm doing things I never thought were possible again. He has taught me a lot about personal growth through this process. Joe Fonseca doesn't make promises,
he makes statements. Come to Triumph Fitness, do the work, do what your told and be patient. Earn it.
UPDATE 10-15-2022
No longer broken and beaten. I'm well into my third year at Triumph.
This will be the year of strength training and experimenting with Powerlifting. Joe Fonseca has escorted me through a 40lb weight loss which I maintained for over a year and rehabbed me through multiple athletic injuries. He's brought back my fitness level of days gone by, I'm not as fast, but definitely stronger. I'm a little older, but I'm still here. A fellow athlete said he helped me fight my way back and I surely agree. Joe Fonseca has given me the confidence to look forward, to take me into uncharted fitness possibilities. He is extremely knowledgeable, experienced and perceptive. This work isn't handed to you, it's earned.
Come to Triumph Fitness, do the work, prove it to yourself. And as for me? But still I grind...
UPDATE 10-15-2023
Moving through my fourth year at Triumph .
Powerlifting has grown to be my sport of choice.
We've attended two competitions and I've managed to set state records in both my divisions. My ability to have accomplished this is strongly based on the nutrition plan and hard work. Joe Fonseca has skillfully built an athlete.
He is truly an artist, sculpting me through nutrition and strength training. Working a nutrition plan takes psychological strength. For me cutting and bulking is just way of life now. Joe Fonseca has taught me patience in an instant gratification world.
Come to Triumph Fitness the possibilities are endless for those that do the work.
The magic you are looking for, is in the work that you are avoiding.
And still I grind...
Update 10-15-2024
Year five:
I'm still powerlifting and have attended three competitions with another in a week or so.
I've managed to inch up my state records slowly but surely with commitment to the program.
As far as the build, I'm lean and muscular. In the earlier years I had a lean fit build and was occasionally stopped and questioned by people hoping for a magic pill. Now that I present more muscular no one asks,
muscle speaks for itself.
And it says "Do the work".
Yet still I grind...
Continually directed by
Joe Fonseca 🌹
UPDATE: 10-15-2025
Year Six:
They say life happens while you're busy making other plans. I haven't been at Triumph as much as I'd like this year or plan to be in the future.
I still managed to set state records with two different powerlifting federations and in two different divisions, with another meet around the corner.
Joe Fonseca has continued to keep me agile, strong and mobile. He tweaks and monitors my nutrition and weight. He helped me cut for a competition and gain for another. When you start to refine nutrition, it becomes more complicated than you would think. Joe Fonseca is a master at nutrition for performance.
Am I an exceptional powerlifter? No. But I seem to have found my niche.
I have grit and my aim is true. Find your niche, stay consistent and amazing things will happen.
As for me?
Its for the love of the grind...

I have been attending Triumph Fitness for 3-4 years now. Joe (my primary coach) and all the coaches are amazing. They never have a bad day! Joe is always there to coach. He doesn’t get the group started and disappear like some gyms I’ve attended. He is always willing to adapt the workout to fit my needs and helps me continuously to improve my firm/technique. The other members of the gym are encouraging and friendly. The gym becomes your home away from home! Come join us!

It all comes down to the coaching at your Box and the coaches.
I joined Crossfit 1 year ago and it has changed my life. I used to dread going to the gym, used the machines half hearted and never felt satisfied after a workout. I admit I was a little intimidated when I first walked into Crossfit. Thinking this was not for me I almost left. So happy I didn't. I love the coaches, it's like get a personal trainer every class. They listen to me, help me and only push me to what I can do. Many times they have taken the weight off the bar and had me just use the bar to work on form. I love the people, I read once that Crossfit is the only sport that the person finishing last gets the biggest cheers, it's so true. Believe me as one a few females over 40 at my box I have heard those cheers many times :) Exercise always runs the risk of injury, however if you listen to your body, take rest days and listen to the coaches you will be fine. You will also make some great friends with similar interests. I can't promise you will ever learn to love burpees though :) Shout out to Joe and V for all they do..

Joe and his staff are really amazing. I was super new to crossfit and a little skeptical about it because of stories i had heard of injuries and such. They have been great about teaching proper technique , tailoring the workouts to my abililty , and educating me on nutrition , movements and recovery. Everyone is super friendly to each other and helpful and motivating as well. You can see Joe truly has a passion for health and fitness and truly cares about everyone from the moment you walk in the door.
