This dojo is amazing. Carleton and his crew run an awesome program. My 11-year-old loves the positivity and encouragement they foster. I do, too. Well worth the time and money (which isn't much).

We absolutely love USWC taekwondo! Our son (5yo) has been a part of their tiny tigers program for about a year and has flourished since he started. He has gained so much confidence and really enjoys learning new skills.

The instructors are great with my 8-year-old, who has been diagnosed with ADHD. Our doctor prescribed martial arts to help him work on focus, and we couldn’t be happier with the choice to join US World Class in Happy Valley. It’s give my son the outlet and self-esteem boost that he needed to succeed in school.

My boys have been at USWC TKD Happy Valley for 2 years, and have had a wonderful experience. The staff is so welcoming and takes the time to get to know each student. Both boys have gained confidence and grown as leaders.

There are so many places we can spend our time and resources, both of which are limited. This is why we tend to search out places that check multiple boxes, the value propositions. This school checks those boxes in spades. My eldest two boys attended for years, and it became a family event when I joined as well. It's easy to see how enrolling a child at this school is a positive that will impact their entire lives. Developing them with clear purpose in an environment that fosters hard work, respect, and dignity. Check, check, check. But it hit me how this value proposition works for adults as well. There are few places that will make you sweat more, and even fewer places that will condition your body and mind towards a sport that is equal parts art, history, and self-defense. A sport that gives you distinct paths as options in where to hone your skills while allowing you to redirect them as life and your priorities shift. Olympian? Martial artist? Zen like forms. "Pivot at the ball of your foot, lean, now snap across. Did you feel that in the hip? Now twist and keep those arms up. " Master Carlos and his staff are professionals, experts at their craft. Joining this school - you will be taught, mistakes will be corrected, you will be tested, but you will also feel like extended family. Stop by, see for yourself. The only thing you have to lose is doubt.

Master Carlos is a great instructor. He is adept in his ability to train all ages. My son trained with him from no experience to level one Dan Black Belt. This Dojang is well worth a try and we highly recommend them. They are organized, communicate well, the facility is clean, and the staff are very friendly. If we still lived in the area my son would still be training here. The respect, life skills, and Taekwondo mastery he gained here is worth every penny spent.

I personally have some extensive training in Korean martial arts and wanted my sons to have the same level of training authenticity I had. I can say with great confidence, Happy Valley is one of the best ran schools in all of Portland. We are truly fortunate to train here with Master Carlos and his amazing teachers.

Excellent dojo and staff. My kids have been attending for 2.5 years and we have watched this studio grow immensely! Master Carlos is very encouraging and strikes the right balance between strict sensei and warm coach. Master Logan is a gem and we can’t thank him enough for his support of the students. My kids have gained confidence, agility and most importantly have learned commitment as they just passed their black belt testing. They worked really hard to pass and have experienced what it is to achieve a hard earned goal. Definitely recommend this studio!

This has been our first experience with marital arts and could not be more thrilled because of what the kids are learning and how great the instructors are. The studio is also very clean, they do a great job keeping it tidy. I would highly recommend this specific location in Happy Valley.

I can’t rate this business high enough. Master Carlos is incredible. Whether you are striving to be a world champion or just looking to try a new activity, he meets kids where they are at and helps to make exceptional humans out of them. The staff who helps are caring, knowledgeable and professional and my children love them all. We started just before my daughter turned 4 and my son was 6. They are both very different kids with very different goals and Master Carlos is able to help both of them grow! If you want your kiddos to lean discipline, confidence, self control, and see them grow in athleticism, definitely give Taekwondo a try. And if you try it, I wouldn’t start anywhere else! We love USWC HV!

If you’re looking into trying martial arts, this is a great place to start. Friendly staff, great environment and good training.
From my experience, the training will greatly benefit you and can be thought of like an investment with great returns.
Along with learning self defense, You can find yourself being more respectful, disciplined, confident, and in better shape over time.
Starting with a trial, and was initially unsure if I wanted to continue, continuing was one of the best choices I have made, and I have not had a single regret on that choice.
I also highly recommend bringing some water when you go to keep yourself hydrated to keep training.

Master Seong and his team are incredible with the kids. He approaches his role as taekwondo Master with A solid balance between encouragement and challenge. My little boy idolizes and respects Master Seong which is a great asset for a parent. I think Taekwondo makes my son a better person.

The owner and staff at this school became like family to us over the many years we went here until we moved out of state. Master Seong is an excellent instructor - skilled, patient, great with the kids and parents both. My son got his black belt here and I nearly did as well before we moved. We haven't found another dojang yet that had the same feel.

All 3 of our kids have been going to Master Seong's Taekwondo School in Happy Valley Oregon for over 6 years.. all 3 are 1 degree and 2nd degree black belts. Master Seong and his instructors are very disciplined and are compassionate to all ages. They do fun activities(Movie nites, Halloween parties, Christmas parties with gift raffles, etc.)... very close knit and family oriented... very highly recommended!!!! 👍👍🏆🥇⭐

This is a very good TKD school. Master Seong and instructors are very nice and friendly!!! Both of my kids, my husband’s nephew and nieces, my friend’s kids are going there. Since going TKD, the kids are better, stronger and more confident. I know even it does cost a little bit money for the classes, but I think it’s worth it. As long as my kids love to go TKD, I will try my best to support them!!!
I highly recommend this school!!!

We have had an excellent experience with USWC TKD in Happy Valley with Master Seong and his team. Our son has been training since he was 5 and has loved learning from the best! He has better focus, confidence, and is kept challenged, which he feels is rewarding. We highly recommend anyone to try USWC TKD, because once you do...you won’t need to look anywhere else.

I can’t give enough accolades to USWC Happy Valley Taekwondo, they are absolutely amazing! Both of our sons have gone through their Tiny Tigers program the year before starting kindergarten and it really helped prepare them. Master Seong has an incredible gift to work with all these rambunctious little ones with tons of patience, making things fun, and being firm all at the same time. All of the staff at USWC treat the families there like their own family. I highly recommend!

Master Seong and his team are amazing, and we would absolutely recommend USWC Taekwondo in Happy Valley. My son has been training here for the past 4 years and has worked his way up to a black belt; the difference we see in him (both at home and in school) is remarkable. The care, focus, and dedication that Master Seong and his team put into each student is truly remarkable.
We were so impressed with all our son has gained while training with Master Seong, both my husband and I have started taking Taekwondo as well. We have a long way to go to earn our black belt, but in the few short months that we’ve been doing it we definitely notice a difference.
If you’re interested in taking Taekwondo, we would highly recommend this school.

Great instructor, very good with kids but very expensive. We signed up my son for classes at a great intro rate which allowed him to fall in love with the classes and skills he was obtaining. But we were very disappointed to find out after the intro classes ended that the cost to continue was as much as going to college or leasing a car. He was very sad to be unable to continue and of course, this was difficult for us as parents to explain why he wasn't worth spending $250 per month. The real issue is not being told in advance just how expensive it is until your 8-year-old is in love with the classes you just paid $69.00 for that included 4 weeks, 8 classes and a uniform. After the promo, you are given options to pay for an entire black belt program which lowers the monthly fee you would now incur but it is around $5000 in advance or you can get a purple belt program for a little over $3000 in advance. But If you are thinking like some of us that your kid may not finish a 3-year black belt program you can opt to pay a (GULP!) monthly fee of $250 again (GULP!) I do not even pay that much for a gym membership with unlimited visits. These programs limit your access to class times of course and work out to $26.00 to $31.00 for every 40 minute class. This school seems to do very well here in Happy Valley and I think this school is fantastic in so many ways but for those of us who are not sending our children to the Olympics for TaeKwonDo, this is far too expensive. I know there are some parents that won't blink an eye at $250 per month and for you, this will be a great fit!
