I've been working out at village fitness for years now,
and I have never thought about the temperature at this Gym, because it was always nice and cool, that all changed about three months ago, and it has been very hot for about that long now, please turn down the temperature back to 65 degrees? It has been 78 to 80 at times, that is to HOT!

I love this gym! I’ve been going here on and off for a couple years now. They recently got a new fitness area which is really cool I love the tires and sleds. The classes are sooo much fun to Zumba would be my favorite. Not to mention the staff is super nice and very helpful. The gym X room is also one of my favorites because if you don’t like working out right next to people you can go in there.

Best gym I’ve ever been a member of. There is an abundance of cardio machines, plenty of weights, room for cross fit, and polymetric training, boxing, etc…most everything piece of equipment is new and I have never seen a piece of equipment out of order or broken.

I am 65 years young and joined Village Fitness the middle of February 2024 because I am a diabetic and wanted to address my health issue. i go to their classes and workout on their gym equipment 5 days a week and sometimes twice a day when I'm in town. It is truly a family atmosphere. I have lost 20 lbs in 4 months, my pains in my body are gone, I have so much more energy, and I sleep great at night. I have gotten tips of what to eat for nutrition and drinking a lot of water. Protein and Fiber is a lot of foods I have been consuming and never get hungry. My husband saw my changes to my body starting and he joined Village Fitness a month after I joined. I have never done weight lifting but the classes stress that and it works. My body is getting more firm by adding weights to my dance classes. The instructors are awesome. Zeke, Michael, and Joan have been great to the members and always accessible. My husband and I highly recommend joining Village Fitness in Medford Oregon. If you do the work, you will see positive results with your body to become healthier.

They keep the sauna wayy too hot, so it breaks down a lot. I’ve seen it as hot as 210. Would be cool if they could keep it closer to 160-170. Free membership with Allcare tho and it’s clean and has a good variety of equipment and spaces. Some of the shower heads are busted in the women’s shower area, but in general it’s a good experience when it’s not super busy. Won’t have OHP for much longer so I’ll be switching when it runs out.

I was pleasantly surprised when I went to use the Hoist machines today and noticed that they had replaced the cracked and fraying seats and seat backs. I feel appreciated when a gym takes care of the equipment. Also, this gym is always very clean. Thank you VF.

I was in the neighborhood and stopped by Village Fitness to check out the facility. I was welcomed by Nick who proceeded to present me with a very thorough run down on the array of workout gear, with special attention to the gear that I have used in the past in other gyms. The array of equipment was certainly better than I've seen in past gyms I've experienced. Also he showed me all other major areas of the facility. We then discussed cost of membership and basic rules/procedures, etc. and I walked out the door as a newly enrolled gym member.

Cancelled my membership back in June. They kept charging membership fees to my bank and have thus far racked up almost $250 dollars. I've complained and requested my money back multiple times. I was told 5-10 business days to get my money back. It's now been upwards of 18 days. The owner can't be bothered to check his messages or return my calls. Lets see if he gives a damn about reviews. My money - which is again $250 - says probably not.

When you walk into village fitness you are always greeted with a smile, equipment is top of the line and more abundant then other gyms in the valley with equipment and almost always available. The friendly staff goes above and beyond to assist you in anyway possible. I have belonged to 3 other gyms and visted 6 total and this is by far the best for the pricing..

The personal trainers at the Village are top notch and extremely knowledgeable.

Overall, this has been my home gym for the last 10 years.

Over the last year i have switched to a few different gyms to check them out. Village is by far the best value for a gym you will find in the Valley. It's not over crowded at any time of the day, mostly updated equipment, upholstery is constantly replaced as it cracks. Polite and knowledgeable staff, and the personal trainers are some of the best if not the best in the valley!

The GM is working hard to keep this place afloat for the owners.

It went through a dark period in the last few years, but the new management is fixing what they can as fast as they can. If you went here previously and had a bad experience give it a try again! I guarantee it's 1000x better!

UPDATE: Wow, so after the snarky reply, which I was laid up with an injury, Village Fittness, but nice try trying to call me out, I tried to cancel my membership but was given incorrect contact info to send info to. Had to go in. Their staf was very friendly but their management seems intent on ripping me off because they wouldn't even give me back my money for the month that was literally taken out of my account a few days ago.
Something has changed here in the last several months and not for the better.

Been waiting MONTHS for the pool and hot tub to be fixed, being told by signage and staff that it was going to be any time. Now apparently they're not going to open it at all. What a lie!

Been at this gym for a long time. It has had many owners over the past. Was a 24 hour, International Fitness, OZ fitness and now Village Fitness. They use to be bigger and kept the place up but kept making the place smaller and smaller. Things are falling apart and no cleaning of anything. Lockers falling apart and off the walls. They just closed their pool. Covered it with concrete. I did like the gym and put up with a lot but management was super rude to Super Trainer and right in front of me to let him go. So time to look for a new gym. This place needs reset. I would look for a different place if you are researching gyms

Great gym! We have had a personal trainer for the last two months. He meets us there in the morning 3 days a week. He’s always checking in via text how the diet is going, or how we are feeling if we had a really good workout.
He is always willing to modify the workout if we are still sore from the workout before and vise versa. If we need a heavier lift day, he will accommodate. Couldn’t ask for a better communicator and motivator.
He will always walk us through the lift first using correct form and then watches us to make sure we are doing it correctly.
Every time I’ve gone in everyone had their mask on but he has had to tell people to mask up if it falls under their nose and don’t fix it. They fix it right away when he asks them to.

Inappropriate and unprofessional staff (especially their Instagram stories)…one trainer in particular posted a meme showing support about “getting vaccinated in the locker room” alluding to steroid use. The trainers regularly train people with incorrect form and cues to the point I was concerned for potential injury. I’ve been a trainer since 2014 (almost 8 years) and it’s honestly cringe worthy to see trainers not even adjusting equipment to the proper height (such as seats) or weight. Someone’s going to get hurt, and it might be one of their trainers since they are obviously undereducated and misinformed (and regularly post Instagram content with entirely improper form).

Not enforcing mandates— just last week a trainer was working out in the group fitness room with a young woman, both without masks on. He wore a face shield on top of his forehead (not covering his face) and his trainee wasn’t wearing a face covering of any kind. I had spoken to several staff members about gym goers not wearing masks and was told “they can’t police everyone.” Well, then you’re not enforcing mask mandates? Hmm.

Equipment frequently out of service and unclean!! They vaccuum the floors regularly but don’t wipe under, around, or on top of the equipment. Bars regularly covered in grime/foam from mats. I should have taken photos but I canceled my membership and will not be going back.

I helped out a friend and got them a membership, the representative told me nothing would be charged to my card. They just needed a card on file, turns out the representative was lying to me. I called the gym to tell them about this and it was like they couldn't even help me, but they sure can take my money. I go to Planet fitness since over a year ago which I enjoy, N there equipment is a good fit for me, although I like the treadmills much better here . but I really wanted swimming N Steam room..Heard of Village fitness and went for trial visits a bit before Covid.. Enjoyed pool n the temp was usually good, But Steam room was closed even before Covid n I kept being told they were working on it to get it opened asap BUT it was constantly delayed..then Covid came.. Since they reopened, the pool is huge for me ( since for me it's a non evasive exercise to not have weight/pressure on leg/knee after a HD accident or knee bone on bone etc )the temp was usually decent to not get goose bumps, but at times it was chilly (N this is huge part of exercise for me) I asked about temp months ago n first I was told there was a temp gauge in pool ( which I never found, then told it was in cement near end of pool) usually it feels warm enough n to very comfortable to swim for awhile. But about 3 weeks ago it was chilly after 10 mins I had goose bumps n got out. I had asked some other women what they thought, they too said it was more chilly.. I called a couple weeks ago n asked about this issue, he told me they had gotten complaints from women that day after a swim class. And it could be heater n equipment sensor that's not right. The stupid temp sensor always says 81 but clearly it's faulty* And other times I asked I was told everything is fine..the truth is what we need n want plz , not a repeat of pretending all is good when it's not* Sadly I haven't hardly gone in past 2 weeks because if water isnt warmer I cannot stay in it the 45 mins or so that I need to.. I met Pete in beginning n always feel confident of what's said is truth* He's totally a great person to talk to there.* I go in evenings N the guys working are very polite n helpful.( I use a knee scooter and I'm very thankful n blessed by Nate n Dillion who get the door for me, which means alot) I think the Owner/manager really cares about making this gym way better, N has done alot of renovations in past several monthsz N cleaning staff are doing a great job (from areas I've seen ) The hours of staying open till 11pm was important for me, but then back in Sept they went to 9, N I was told they were training people they needed so they could go back to 11pm. 2months later N told same thing *.. overall I love this gym, but pool temp needs to be warmer consistently..Give Village fitness a try N talkto Pete*.

Before it Became Village fitness the place had a rather unclean look about it. Now it always look clean. New equipment and giving the pool area more detailed attention is a big plus for me. Like how they had blocked the windows so people can't see in from outside the workout areas.
Newer lockers in the locker rooms and keeping the shower area clean is hugh plus.
Of course not everyone cleans up after the messes they make but most people do.
The cleaning crew seems to work at being on top of things.
Hope they keep up with all the improvements and cleanliness and thanks.

Returning member... I thought I'd give it another try. I'm impressed by the number of machines they have now. Yes floor a little dirty but machines are clean. I'm glad I came back and rejoined.

After the new owner purchased my gym memebership they told me that they had no record that my daycare was included. look at my contract, they said they didn’t have it. check your computer, they said they just switched programs and lost that info. I told them it sounds like a problem on their end and they need to show a little customer service and take care of it. They said that I needed to bring in my copy of the contract or they wouldn’t let me kids in. They did this to all of their customers who had paid upfront for childcare. Sleazy way to run a business. Horrible customer service.
UPDATE: after reading my review the management called and extended our membership 6 months for free and included childcare to recover from their mistake. I’m still too stressed to feel comfortable working out there again but it’s nice to know that they are willing to try.

All I ask of anyone is to speak truthfully. Have had several employees including management LIE to me repeatedly as to conditions and improvements of hot tub, wet sauna, etc. over the last 10 years...new manager Kevin is a refreshingly, truthful man and I see many improvements. GOD bless him

I really enjoy going here and its never super busy like other gyms. The pool area is nice and lots of equipment. But the mens locker room needs some serious cleaning especially the shower floors my goodness its nasty. Those floors should be cleaned a minimum of 2 times per day.

Fantastic staff, great service, and facilities. Gym is well maintained and clean. Classes are fun and engaging. This location is close to the best restaurants in medford; food and entertainment to enjoy after a good work out.

Love the Village Fitness! The new equipment is really nice and now they even have a salt water pool! It's not perfect but they are trying to improve and I have really seen a difference in the cleanliness and quality in general since it's previous ownership. I would definitely recommend it!

I want to thank the current manager (Kevin) for his wonderful business to customer interface style. Kevin had quite the challenge since recently becoming manager. Considering the new equipment i.e. …….dozens of new machines many of which are leading edge , dollar for dollar it’s the best value of any fitness club here in the Jackson County! I have been a member of some of the competing clubs and there’s no comparison! Saltwater pool, hot water Jacuzzi, dry sauna and new to me some steel framed apparatus that looks like it’s for training “American Ninja Warrior”!
There will always be needs to be worked on and believe me from what I’ve seen from Kevin he will be addressing those needs into the future!
I can’t wait to give this place a five-star rating!
Kevin’s management style is undoubtedly also helping improve the morale of the staff! I want to thank the staff for their open ears when I have a suggestion for improving Village Fitness!

I've been a return customer for 2 years now. Very pleased with the classes and the equipment. They are always making updates to keep things fresh. The management is always very helpful and have fixed any problem I've had. I would highly reccomend.

The manager was condescending to me and my wife. He made canceling my memebership very difficult and continued to charge my credit card after i did finally cancel it. On top of that my statement showed all double payments and he would only refund about half of what was charged. Now he is dodging my phone calls after telling me that he only needed to talk to me about it to get the rest refunded.

Worst gym owners and managment I have seen in a gym. I had been there since it opened as 24 hour. Then off and on as I moved back and forth to Medford over the years. They fired anyone over the age of 19 in the kids place. One of the employees told my son "stop being stupid" and my son replied "I'm not stupid, our stupid". They kicked him out and said that any other sign of "disrespect", he would be kicked out permanently without giving us a refund on childcare. The kids place was always filthy without ever being cleaned. The when working out, the owner would follow me around acting like he was looking at his phone watching my friends and I lift acting like I was personally training people. You cant just hang out with friends and lift without being accused of something. The facility in general in general is always nasty with busted equipment and machines. The bathroom in the mens room had broken toilets and urinals for the 4 months prior to me leaving. The sauna seating is always busted, the steam room never got fixed and any timeline ever given for repairs was never followed. I finally left when they spray painted old equipment to pass it off as new, or replaced it with with cheap matrix brand machines and crossfit equipment. I still have a ton of friends there, but I can't go to that gym anymore. Its trash.

Im not much on leaving reviews unless I’m upset, but I feel village fitness has gone the extra mile and is deserving of this review. New management seems to get what it is that people are looking for in a gym and have gone the extra mile with quality equipment and layout. Staff is amazing and remembers your name. They seem to have covered all the bases with the classes they offer and equipment they purchased. Large cardio and free weight area with a swimming pool and clean locker rooms. If you haven’t been here since the remodel, you owe it to yourself to take another look.

I am so disappointed in what this gym has turned into since the new owner and new manager Aaron took over. I've been overcharged ($130!), had duplicate charges, and have gotten the run around about getting it corrected. I wouldn't trust this gym with your credit card information

I joined this gym for the pool. Yes they have updated the equipment but it is still horribly managed. I tried a “personal trainer “ and ended up with strained muscles and couldn’t walk for nearly a week. Then the pool was vandalized and it took 2 weeks for it to reopen. Then they wouldn’t have it up to temperature at 5 am. I asked about it and after several times was told that they wouldn’t have it come up to temperature until peak times. I also emailed and never received a response. I sent in a letter of cancellation and still no response. I will contact my bank to let them know I followed to the letter of the agreement but the gym did not. Do NOT join this gym. They don’t live up to their agreement and have awful management.

I joined last October specifically for the classes which took place in a large room separated from the rest of the gym. There was an instructor, Jamie, who was amazing! I loved her classes and also the yoga classes. I had 5 session with a personal trainer who set me up with a routine, and I was ready to go. Then everything changed. Yes, new owners invested $$$ to make the place LOOK better, but is the quality of the gym better? The exercise room has been closed for months, so classes are held in the gym. Yoga is challenging when music is blaring and people are milling about. Jamie is gone, and an uninspired guy took over her classes. I thought I would die of boredom when he had us begin the same basic series of exercises for a THIRD time! And the routine I paid for with the personal trainer is useless because a third of the equipment we used is gone!! I am really frustrated. Management needs to wake up.

What other gym in the valley just invested over 400k in equipment? I've trained here since it opened in 2001 and this will prove to be "the spot" once again.

DO NOT USE VILLAGE FITNESS! We have canceled our memberships with them 3 times and been billed 3 more mpnths. We canceled in person, a month later we were billed. Canceled over the phone, and we were assured we would not get billed again. Then we were billed again. Call corporate to find out that our memberships were STILL NOT CANCELED. We are considering criminal charges at this point.

So I have been lied to for months now about them canceling the memberships I've had for over 1 year. I had to move out of state and went into Village Fitness to cancel. So I was surprised to have my account overdrawn by them a couple weeks later. So I called to take care of the issue. He assured us we would not be changed again. And here we go again. March, got charged and account overdrawn again. I called their Account service # only to be told I have to contact the gym directly. But they obviously are not doing their job. I've now been charged $19.95 perfect month for 2 months and $35/transaction in overdraft fees. So everyone beware. They will lie and scam you out of money. Let's see if the management actually calls me back before I have to contact the MPD for their crimes.

I have been a member for years, the promised improvements are taking a lot longer to complete, it is a joke. The employees seem to be disgruntled and are leaving left and right. The one nice thing is that there are fewer and fewer people going there so it is easy to grab a machine or a bench, if you want quiet time this is a good place to go. If you do not mind rips in the padding on the equipment.
It appears they have been cutting back on expenses, by not worrying about cleanliness, the equipment is dirty , the floors are dirty and the bathrooms are disgusting, in the men’s room there are two broken toilets one has been since the first of the year, the other one over a month. The women’s bathroom is the same.
It is not uncommon for the tv’s to be a blank screen with a dish logo on them, the employees just shrug it off assuming the service was turned off
Over a year ago there was this great vision of a fantastic gym coming, the upgrades, the classes a world class gym, as of yet, they appear to be a long way away from achieving the vision with no sense of urgency.

The manegment is very unfriendly and appears not to care about the facilities condition or the morale of the staff.
Back in the Oz days and international fitness days, it has never been in this shape.
It is truly a real shame.

Is anyone else having problems with this Shady Gym? They have repeatedly overcharged me and AARON the manager promised to call me of course and resolve it but never did. We canceled this account twice but that doesn't mean anything and we were continually charged. I am hearing about other people so will be going to visit a friend at the news station for starters...

This gym is a fantastic place to improve your health and quality of life. The new owners are committed to providing an atmosphere of growth and accountability. The equipment is all newer and in great working order. Where this place really shines is in the group classes and small group training. They have many class options for varying age and skill levels and all the teachers are very knowledgeable. Angela Quintero, in particular, is absolutely incredible! She truly cares for her clients and invests in them because she wants to see them succeed and conquer all of their health and fitness goals. She helped me immensely last year. I was able to lose 50 lbs and increase my flexibility and stability all while dealing with some chronic neck and back issues. She was really helpful with making sure my form and posture was correct so I would not have any setbacks with my injury. Seriously cant recommend her or this gym enough! Thanks Village Fitness for creating an environment and culture to achieve the best outcomes for our health and our lives!

The new owners of the gym are really turning this gym around. They have a strong commitment to making the gym a place of learning and growth. I have especially enjoyed training and taking classes from Kody. He has an amazing depth of knowledge about movement and nutrition that has helped me noticeably increase my strength in a realitively short period of time. I am working to increase my leg strength to avoid knee replacement surgery and I already feel less knee pain. I am now actually enjoying working out at the gym!
