While the gym itself is nice and the people I've met were considerate, the actual payment, subscription, and ability to cancel your card is as pain in the rear as any other place. I have been charged for MONTHS after what was meant to be a Monthly (Not Annual) subscription, where my cancellation has been pending for just as long instead of just ending it. It is predatory behavior.

I love West Coast! Probably the best gym I’ve been to so far! It’s clean, not as crowded and love all the updated equipments. I have been to 24, LA Fitness and Golds gym and nothing tops West Coast. Even when it does get crowded, I still don’t mind it because it still not as crowded as other gyms I’ve been to. Highly recommend this gym. My boyfriend is very picky with gyms and this his favorite also.

Great gym that is not just for showing off the latest styles like LA. Lots of space for free weight and cable pulls. They have four dead lift/squat racks with plenty of plates for heavy lifts. Good assortment of treadmills and elliptical machines. We also really appreciate the classic rock they play on most days at least some of the time. We despise hip hop.

The facilities are solid, and equipment gets fixed quickly. Outside of the peak hours (4-7 pm) its not usually packed.

I signed up for the free training session, it took a few weeks for them to get back to me to schedule it. PT was okay, I dont think it was quite worth the value, but everybody's mileage will vary.

West Coast has been a game changer. I’ve been in and out of the gym scene for probably 20 years. Had some kids …. seriously rejoined the scene about six months ago at another gym whose name I won’t mention, but it was overcrowded, the vibe is crap, the staff was unhealthy, you had to wait hours for a leg machine, or a treadmill, no matter what time you went. At West Coast it’s busy but not overcrowded, people have common courtesy and respect for others, super clean super chill, the vibe is just what I needed to genuinely be excited and eager to go work out every day. You might spend a tiny bit more investing in your health using this gym instead of some of the other options in the area but again I really feel like you get what you pay for and when you invest in yourself, it really pays off in a big way. The staff is great! P.S Tony stole my sunglasses🤣

I’ve been a member of this gym for about 6 months. They’ve done a good job adding new equipment and changing the style/color scheme of the interior walls. $55 per month is still on the high end for what’s offered, especially with the amenities. The bathrooms and locker rooms are gross and need a complete overhaul. The bathrooms don’t even have paper towel dispensers. If you’re going to cheap out on this, at least supply a hand dryer that works. If the price of membership increases, I’ll go elsewhere.

Don't talk to the head manager at Keizer about any concerns... you'll get your Membership revoked.
This is what happened to me when I tried explaining my concerns

I joined December 2024. I noticed a few things that I tried to ignore.
1. Signs that say locker rooms are cleaned. Nope. Showers have pink slime. Lockers are never wiped out.
2. You probably won't be greeted at the front door when you enter/exit. The earlier you go, they don't care if you're there or not. They're often on their phones with their heads down.
3. Seth the trainer/manager won't even make eye contact or say hi to you. He purposely avoided talking or looking at me. I tried to say hi, and he would look the other direction. He made me feel like I didn't belong at WCS
I talked to the manager at Keizer about my concerns, especially how Seth purposely avoids me. The next day, my membership was canceled and I was told I could never return as a member. The head manager, Sally, gave me a call and she refused to say why I was no longer allowed to be at WCS.
I tried explaining to her how Seth makes me feel like I don't belong there just by how he acts.
In my mind, a fitness manager should be welcoming, not cold and robotic.
I've never caused an issue at WCS. I don't feel it's fair how someone can be restricted because they bring up concerns how their fitness manager makes you feel like you don't belong there.
This facility isn't for people who want to feel included. Choose another one in Salem.

Huge variety of weight lifting options, including an entire “Booty Builder” section. I’m enjoying my free week and thinking of starting a monthly membership at the end of the week! (There’s a special right now with no joining fee.) They even have a punching bag you can use upon special request. I especially want to compliment Ryan at the front desk, who was really helpful to my friends and I today. Another thing I like at this gym is seeing people of all vastly different fitness levels peacefully coexisting. The only reasons I did 4 stars instead of 5 is that they often play hard rap at night which sometimes has explicit language. But I was told that we can ask them to change it if we want. Also, there’s no pool or hot tub. But they do plan to get a sauna soon!

The BEST GYMS!! I started going to the west salem location years ago when they first opened. It has been my go-to since. They are constantly updating machines and going out of their way to make sure the gym is up to date on amenities as well. I’m so happy they came into the industry. 4.5/5 stars to be more specific. there’s a ton of space, lots of machines, a couple turf areas, a large studio, and two platforms for olympic lifts. i like that there’s a variety of options depending on what you want to accomplish during your time there. everything pretty solid during your first free 7 day trial, but it’s a little out of my price range with only one amenity, which is a locker room. other than that, i think it’s awesome!

Im used to working out in gyms that have calibrated kilo plates, heavy metal music and encourage chalk use. Powerlifting gyms for that matter. I believed that Westcoast Strength was identical to Westside Barbell. I was a bit disappointed that it wasn't. It's more like a Gold's or any other commercial gym. Staff was cool, gym is nice and very clean but just not my cup of tea
