Had the good fortune of learning from Brant while he facilitated an 8-week course through my employer. Learned strategies and practices that I'm using everyday, and that I am profoundly grateful for- Brant is a fantastic guide each step of the way.

I highly recommend Brant and Yoga Hillsboro if youβre looking for a yoga experience and practice that is about more than just the yoga poses and strength. His focus on mindfulness in everything he teaches adds so much to the yoga experience, without being βwoo-wooβ, and he always encourages us to find our own βedgesβ and limits.
In addition, Iβve participated in his Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction workshops which was such a transformative experience. Iβve also found his evening online meditation group meetings very grounding. These began during the pandemic and continue to offer a beautiful respite and refocusing at the end of the day.

The MBSR course is life altering. Brant is an excellent teacher who is respectful of his students and meets them where they are. His Yoga classes are also very good. I appreciate how he changes up the schedule each season and I look forward to practicing in the park this spring & summer.

Having been to several yoga studios in the greater Portland area and having been through the Hillsboro Yoga MBSR program I found Brant's teaching to be exceptionally well balanced, down-to-earth and engaging. Brant's experience and knowledge is considerable. He teaches by presence and example. Brant is the real deal!

I have been working with Brant and Yoga Hillsboro for over 5 years now. I started with the MBSR course, but have enjoyed yoga, shared evening meditations, retreats, and more with Brant and the wonderful community of Yoga Hillsboro. Brant even worked with me to provide an MBSR course for interested staff at my school. Not only am I grateful for the positive evolution of my life since since that first MBSR course, I am so happy to have found a community I can grow with and find comfort in when needed.

Brant is an amazing teacher, very supportive and kind. His MBSR course equipped me to handle the day to day stresses of life with a grace and ease I didn't even know was possible. And as a yoga instructor, he makes everyone feel comfortable and encouraged, regardless of their level of ability. I often struggle with flexibility, but Brant makes every effort feel like an accomplishment, finding each pose in my own beautiful way, while wiping away any idea of doing the pose 'wrong'. He is a living embodiment of the loving support that the other Mr. Rogers raised so many of us with.

Brant is a skilled and delightful teacher. Classes are a good balance of stretching, balance, meditation, and fun. Fellow students are all ages and skill levels, with modifications being shown for those with injuries or limitations. Highly recommend!

I took a course in Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) with Brant for eight weeks. My girlfriend recommended it to me a a graduate herself. I will admit that I was skeptical at first. Summary version - it changed my life. How I see the world, my interactions in this world and how I react in life. My blood pressure dropped, my stress dropped and how I deal with day-to-day challenges changed dramatically. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! Brant is amazing!

This place is much more than a yoga studio, to me, it feels like a warm, welcoming community and a safe place. Brant is a genuine, compassionate person who works with you to establish the best and most comfortable practices for you. The classes and MBSR course provide great opportunities to explore your yoga practice, different types of movement, and a quiet place to consider new pathways as life takes us in different directions than we'd expected. I highly recommend Yoga Hillsboro and the MBSR practice. Try a drop in yoga class and check it out!

I took Brant's class (MBSR ) a few years ago and found it to be very helpful in learning how to accept (even welcome) difficult emotions. Brant's voice is very calming; even now, if I think of his voice, I find myself settling down and relaxing. I highly recommend this class.

I took the Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction course from Brant several years ago and it affirmed my practice in meditation and gave me new skills that helped change my orientation to the present moment. I learned how to better be present in my interactions with others, how to pause and notice before jumping into an habitual reaction. Brant's MBSR course also led me to become a teacher of mindfulness because I saw the power in sharing the practice with others. Brant is a kind and gentle man who has vast experience. It seems his goal is to share that selflessly with others to make the world a better place.
