About the Club

Yoga on Yamhill is Portland's longest-running donation and sliding-scale based yoga and healing studio, offering Yin, Restorative, Hatha, Vinyasa, Sculpt, and 4Beat, as well as Cannabis-Centric, Tantric, Naked yoga and other unique and avant garde offerings. We are a not-for-profit collaboration of teachers and volunteers, and our mission is "Yoga for All!". Our studio's inviting wood floors are complemented by full-height windows that bring in sun and breezes, as well as a tea station and an abundantly planted atrium with rugs and cushions where you can relax after class.

Take the Blue or Red line to Yamhill Station or park nearby and walk into the cobblestone plaza between SW 1st and 2nd at Yamhill St., right where the train lets off.

We booked a private session with Michelle for my bachelorette party this weekend and it was such a great experience! Not to mention affordable!
Bee and Michelle were extremely thoughtful leading up to the class by asking what each person's experience is with yoga, what kind of class we would like, down to making recommendations of where to eat and what to do in Portland since we were coming from Vancouver, BC.
Michelle's teaching method is unlike any other class we have been in, she was lively, energetic and extremely engaging which we appreciated and made us feel welcome. :) They tailor the class to the group which is incredibly lovely and accommodating.
The studio was really nice as well with brick walls and large arched windows, and in such a great location! Can't recommend this experience enough!

What a wonderful place for practicing yoga. David is a natural healer and his Yin restorative class will have you feeling great all day! I was visiting from Kauai trying a new studio out and I’m glad I found Yoga on Yamhill. A studio by yogis for yogis. Felt right at home.

I had the most fantastic yin experience with David. He goes the extra mile to create a healing environment with music, gong and singing bowls, sage, and essential oils. I visit Portland regularly, and Yoga on Yamhill has a permanent spot on my go-to list. Traditional yoga in a beautiful environment.

Great downtown yoga studio. One of the few studios that made it through the pandemic with some wonderful teachers. Appreciate all they do to keep this place to be a calming downtown resource.

This peaceful and beautiful studio brought a much needed sense of inner peace to me after spending time here. This business needs community support to keep the practice going and I pray others find this gem of a studio and breath life back into it.

Do not go to this studio wasting your money and time. I registered online and went there. Nobody showed up and opened the door for me!!! I called them a few times and left the voicemail and email or messaged them from a website. No one cared about the money I paid for dropping in class or apologizing. I made time and stood in the street for 30 min then I came back home. This place has the worst business and it's such a shame why they call yoga practice while they dont understand the basic communication or cancellation.

I had the pleasure of meeting David Miller recently during his restorative workshop. One thing that stood out was his life experience and passion for a yoga practice dedicated to slowing down and listening to yourself.

What a pleasant surprise to meet David Miller tonight. In summary he’s amazing. You can tell how much time he has spent learning and growing in the practice. So grounded so humble so knowledgeable. Relaxed after yin is an understatement. There were so many parts of the class that literally couldn’t have been better. Hot bags, chimes, bell, sage, adjustments- thank you David.

One of the best yoga studios in Portland. Especially for yin, restorative and yoga nidra. This is the spot!

First time at the studio with my friend: At the beginning of class, our instructor (male) asked if we wanted adjustment & assistance through tough and proceeded to give us a little card that said yes on one side & no on another to place in front of our mats to answer. Being it a man we just met, we both flipped our cards to β€œno.” The instructor repeatedly physically adjusted both of us, and at one point in class I noticed him giving a lower back massage to another woman in the class. (?????????)

The studio was grubby, and the environment was not at all relaxing or restorative.

I have attended many yoga classes at many yoga studios and therefore have a fair understanding of industry standards & practices. With that being said, it was a very weird, unprofessional, inappropriate experience & will never be back.

Yoga in Yamhill has really embraced their community in this time of need by offering their services online. I can stay home, stay safe and still get all the benefits of my regular instructor. I've been going to Amy for about 7 years who is a phenomenal instructor with dynamic and appropriately challenging flows.

Never done anything like this. It’s was a very welcoming environment. Amazing experience all around. Aaron was an incredible instructor. The class it's was very peaceful and it's almost like therapy. It’s crazy how much breathing can change the way you feel physically and mentally in such a dramatic and positive way.

I absolutely love this studio. All the teachers I've taken class with are supportive and skilled. Vinyasa classes are definitely challenging enough to get a little bit of a sweat going! I've been practicing for a couple years and it keeps me really interested. Yet, poses offered with modifications for if you're just starting out with yoga. They have all sorts of different styles of yoga, but I tend to just stick to the the vinyasa classes.

PLUS, it's donation-based with a monthly membership option that is less than half of what a usual yoga studio would charge. I can't say enough good things about this place, I love it!!

This place is amazing. It has all the regular vinyasa and power yoga classes, but there are others tailored to a different crowd is well. I adore Friday night therapeutic yoga, it’s a little bit on the more experimental side, mixing yoga nidra and yin yoga with a focus on relaxation and breath working. I love it, it’s beyond the usual exercise yoga and a little more than your average meditation class. The teacher is so nice and so Knowledgeable.
Highly recommend

A true staple of Down Town Portland. They offer donation based classes every day of the week with a wide range of skill levels and yoga styles, from slow yin classes to fairly intense high paced Power Yoga classes. The instructors are all passionate, professional, patient and motivating. The owner Paul is a really nice guy and teaches a few of the classes every week. Friday nights has a great recovery yoga class that is one of the most tranquil classes I have taken. They set the standard in Portland for accessible and powerful yoga. They are located directly across from a red and blue line stop and a couple blocks away from a yellow and green line stop. Also conveniently located near the waterfront and some great cafes and restaurants.

This is the best yoga studio I’ve ever been to! It has great natural lighting, calming scents, music, offers free clean mats, storage as well as private changing areas. Paul’s instruction is soothing, educational and attainable. It can get a little crowded so go early to get a decent spot...

I am so glad I discovered yoga at this amazing studio! Alicia’s, Angela’s and Heather's classes are all so great! I've been referring all my friends and relatives to give yoga a try. It has truly been a life changing experience and I’m so grateful I bought the Groupon and decided to give yoga a try. I’m hooked on it’s benefits and will continue to be a regular at this wonderful yoga studio!

My wife and I were really looking forward to a vinyasa flow practice here the day after Thanksgiving, but sadly the teacher failed to show up. Hopefully this isn't the norm for this studio because it seems to have a good vibe and we were thankful that David stepped-in and taught a yin class. Much love brother!

I was in Portland for a few days and went to an early morning class at Yoga on Yamhill. The idea of making a donation rather than having a fixed class price is refreshing. The studio had gorgeous exposed brick walls that created a grounded ambience. Sara taught a beautiful vinyasa flow with options for all. It was a wonderful way to start the day. Thank you!

Nice space and very easy access. And donation based yoga? HELL YEAH!
Didn't give 5 stars because the class I took was "OKAY" the instructor made us hold hands for 30 min and sleep the rest of the class... I was open for the meditation class but I told her I was a beginner and had only taken "gym yoga" she failed to instruct us on how to let go and get into the "zone" I guess.
