I’m a yoga teacher, and recently started coming to this studio for heated and unheated power yoga classes. The teachers here consistently deliver physically challenging flows and grounding soul-soothing wind-downs. Check out Chera’s class. Just stellar. I’ll be back!

Did hot yoga with a friend. Great instructor, welcoming environment. Challenging yoga routine, but very flexible and accommodating for all body types and needs. I spent most of the session on the floor for stretching. Great guided exercise.

As a visitor to Portland for a short work trip, I discovered Yoyoyogi and they truly became my "home studio away from home". 10/10 would recommend and will visit again if ever in the area!

They offer what I would consider a "traditional" yoga practice, which is mindful, reflective, and profound, without being religious or americanized. The setting is a large, open and airy studio, with wood floors and exposed brick providing a peaceful atmosphere. They offer a variety of classes, so it was easy to find sessions to fit my schedule, and I went every day (6) during my stay. I had a different instructor each time, and all were professional, insightful and constructive. The classes were also differentiated to accomodate varying levels of skill and experience, so that no one is left out or feels intimidated. One session I attended was a 2-hour special class from Alex Cole that was nothing short of TRANSFORMATIVE.

Other nice, thoughtful features that many studios don't offer is changing areas as well as showers in case you want to rinse off after a sweaty heated session, and complimentary water and tea. Another thing that I appreciated is that they offer a visitors package which is extremely reasonable for anyone expecting to take more than two classes, featuring unlimited classes with mat and towel rental included (as I did not travel with my gear).

Overall I had a wonderful experience and felt so welcomed by the Yoyoyogi community. Anyone looking for a traditional yoga experience, which is as thought provoking as it fitness enhancing should give them a try.

I've just celebrated one year of going to YoYoYogi and my only regret is that I didn't find it sooner. It's become my yoga home thanks to the community they cultivate and well-rounded teachers with knowledge far beyond just the physical practice of yoga. I chose to pursue their 200-HR Yoga Teacher Training towards my NASM CPT continuing education and am so glad I did. The instructors were excellent, the curriculum thorough, and there were many opportunities to build confidence teaching.

Wonderful experience on a drizzly Saturday morning. Very welcoming at the front desk and an informative walk-through of the facilities, which were impressive. The hot-yoga space was large and filled but maintained the promised 100F. The practice was led by Holly who had buckets of motivation and based on my limited experience incorporated a lot more flow than I traditionally am exposed to in hot yoga. Very challenging and nice to have a mantra to set me up for the rest of the weekend too. Not cheap but well worth it, I will definitely return!

Walking into YoYoYogi was such a wonderful experience—I was greeted with the most authentic and warm welcome, and I immediately felt at home. The entire team is incredibly supportive, but Angela truly stands out. She has been so amazing and went above and beyond to help me navigate some personal hurdles. When you think of a true yogi, Angela embodies it perfectly. Her kindness, guidance, and genuine spirit are out of this world. Namaste 🙏🏻

I was in town visiting for a week, and YoYoYogi became the place where I continuously found my grounding in the midst of busyness. Many things to say, but I’ll start with before I even arrived there… they have a generous traveler’s pass, which includes a week of classes + mat and towel for each class. It’s such an economical option in a sea of high drop-ins, especially when you’re traveling so class packages aren’t always ideal. Then, the first time I walked in, and every time after that, I was also greeted by such incredible warmth at the reception. The classes and teachers themselves were great. Diverse and creative. If only I could have Sydney and Christopher in my life on the regular! I love that the studio switches off days between hot and regular classes — there’s really something for everyone. Whether you’re visiting or a local, I could not recommend YoYoYogi and their teachers more.

I’m new to the studio and trying it out for a couple of weeks. Wow! What a variety of classes. And all of the staff have been incredibly friendly, welcoming and always encourage us to meet our bodies where they are that day. There’s even a more meditative style class on Sunday evenings that put me into a more restful state than I’ve experienced in years!!! Loving this hidden gem of a studio.

I've been able to attend classes at the YoYoYogi Yoga Studio since February of 2024. I've been lucky enough to catch classes from Dena, Holly, and Kyra. All of these lovely instructors brought their own creative flavor to the classes. I felt like I got a true workout with each and every flow. The music was energetic, the vibe is welcoming, and the studio smells clean. I can't wait to go back and attend more classes! On a final note, I love how many times I've been able to pet the studio dogs before classes. 🩷

Yoyo is my favorite place to practice yoga! So it's no surprise that this was where I chose to complete my 200 hr Yoga Teacher Training too! It was a life changing 8 week course with SOO much information packed in. Kristi, Holly and Chera led our trainings. They are so knowledgeable and all had varying styles and experiences to share with us. The training answered all the questions I've ever asked about Yoga and Asana, and opened the door for a lifetime of exploration. This program will set you up to be a hirable yoga teacher straight out of graduation, but was also amazing for someone like me who just wanted to deepen my practice and soak in all the yoga love. <3

I highly recommend this training and I encourage you sign up if you’re looking to become a teacher or deepen your practice 😊

YoYoYogi is the best studio I’ve been to across the country and have been going since the day I discovered them (generous free trials to check them out!) and will continue to do so as long as I’m in Portland.

They have an impressive range of vinyasa and movement classes that range from Pilates -fusion and high intensity, to Hot Flow, to Sanctuary, with a soulful connection and slow, intentional movement. Each teacher lends their own style, wisdom, and education with genuine philosophical practices to match movement. The community is warm, welcoming; the owner, Angela, has been overwhelmingly kind about accommodating pauses while traveling, ensuring she gets to know each person, and going above and beyond to run this incredible studio.

Kyra is not only one of the most wonderful yoga instructors I’ve ever had, but person I’ve met in Portland. She’s generous, inclusive, diverse, and always fun. Chera’s wisdom, Amy’s powerful, contagious energy, and so many others have made this a rare and truly amazing place that I look forward to visiting.

Don’t even questioning coming here- you’ll find a new home.

My therapist has encouraged me for over a year now to explore the benefits yoga can do for me. I believe like most people, I was very nervous to go to my first yoga class in fear of being the 'odd ball' in the class but I have to say, from the very beginning this studio has made the experience very enjoyable and not stressful at all. I've taken 3 classes in less than a week and every single instructor knew my name when I walked in, made sure I felt comfortable and reassured me that this is a personal experience. If you are reading this and are in doubt of starting... do it. If I can do it, you can as well. You will thank yourself after the end of every single yoga class. I've been a member of the YoYoYogi Studio and community for 7 years. You won't find a more friendly, nonjudgemental and welcoming Studio and community anywhere else in Portland. Terri, Alex, Kristi & David have worked hard to create a physical and spiritual place that speaks to everyone who walks through YoYo's doors. The teachers are caring and kind, the Big Dog studio is large but feels incredibly intimate and the vibe is everything you want a yoga studio to be. I did my 200-hour yoga teacher training here (I never intended to teach, but instead wanted a deeper practice) and I've taken numerous workshops at YoYo. I have learned so much from the owners, their dedicated teachers and the outside experts that are brought in to provide interesting, new and life-changing experiences. The best of the best for yoga in Portland. Alex and team are awesome. The rooms are old school Portland brick and wood which creates an authentic look and feel. Love the “living room” to connect with my fellow yogis.

I have been going for a little over a month now and Holly just taught the best hardest class I have taken there. She was so AMAZING! I felt so spiritually connected to myself and I have never felt that in yoga yet. Best yoga studio!

Seriously one of the best yoga experiences I've ever had! While visiting Portland, I wanted to squeeze in some yoga and YoYoYogi came highly rated from friends who are locals. The studio is clean (hey, it's important!) and has everything you could want for just one class or a future as a yogi (mats, towels, apparel, etc.) We took Galen's hot vinyasa flow class, which encourages you into deep and challenging positions, while reminding you to focus on your breath and intentions. In the last five or so years, I've taken classes from the best of the best in NYC and Galen is right up there with the best of them. Classes are full, but you're not on top of one another. I will be back!

I have been taking and teaching yoga for over 18 years, throughout the U.S. and abroad, and YoYoYogi is one of those special places that simply makes its way into your heart. It is a family run studio that places a huge emphasis on cultivating a friendly, welcoming atmosphere for all. The variety of classes, from the intense and heated, to the calm and gentle classes, offer something for everyone. At YoYo, quality yoga is incredibly important, but so is finding opportunities to laugh, celebrate and party! This place has something really special going on, and deserves a visit if you haven't done so already!

The teachers are always so welcoming and supportive, offering up alternatives throughout class so people have the opportunity to choose their own journey. The community that has been created as well from the studio is amazing!

Finding a yoga teacher is a challenging endeavor. Finding a sangha is a rare gift. YoYoYogi is a sangha full of teachers where you’re greeted with warmth, guided by professional expertise, and lifted by authentic care. Great music too 😊

Oh my, so many good things to say! I met the owners through work and quickly realized their energy was infectious. I started taking the 6pm Monday yoga virgins class and literally cried at the end of the first class. The energy there is so calm and uplifting. Everyone you encounter from the time you check in and set your stuff down in their large "living room" to the teachers who inspire while they strengthen and stretch you out give positive vibes and really make you feel welcome and special even in a class of 30. I could go on and on, but go see for yourself! They have a packed schedule with hot and regular yoga, stuff for everyone's speed and a killer 1st month special!

When I first moved to Portland, I spent several months scoping out yoga studios. Once I found YoYoYogi, I knew I was home. The atmosphere is warm, inviting, inspiring, and genuine. The vibe is local and familial. The staff/teachers hold a space that cultivates community and inspires joy, making it the place you crave, even on (if not especially on), those really challenging days. I love the variety of teaching styles offered. There is a hot room with super fun power classes for 50 or 60 minutes where you can sweat it all out. The unheated room hosts classes including introductory classes, power flow, fun fitness, yin and restorative. It is great because you can try several styles of yoga, all within one building. Regardless of the class I take, I always leave feeling lighter and entirely grateful for the community and the opportunity to practice the style of yoga my body needs.

YoYo offers a New Student Special for $38 for 12 classes in 30 days; whichever comes first. They also have drop ins for $16, community classes for $10, and Happy Hour classes (offered Mon-Fri) for $12. Punch card Packages and monthly memberships are also available. Additionally, there are frequently fun workshops or special events to check out.

To sum up, I found a home and a family at YoYo. Would highly recommend to a friend :)

I can't say enough amazing things about YoYo and the community they have created. This review is long overdue! I started here about 2 years ago after moving to the Portland area and after I tried many yoga studios in NW and SW Portland. When I walked in to YoYo, I just knew it would be different. I was greeted with such warmth and the classes? Incredible. The owners of the studio are some of the most amazing, down to earth people I've ever met and I can honestly say that I've never taken a bad class at YoYo. I love this place so much I opted to do my teacher training there and haven't left since. Give it a try and you will see what I mean! Thank you YoYos for creating a safe space for everyone!

Walking into this studio is like take a breath of fresh air - community, love, positivity... YoYo is welcoming to all! I love vinyasa and that is what YoYo focuses on - moving one breath one movement! With other options like yin, restorative, and meditation classes, I feel like I get a full body, open heart experience!

Hands down my favorite Portland yoga studio. YoYoYogi has been my home away from home for years and I recommend it to any yogi I meet without hesitation. They offer such a wide array of classes, workshops, and events, it's no wonder they've been able to cultivate such a strong community!

For some reason I get a little shy and intimidated by most yoga studios. From the moment I stepped into Yo Yo Yogi, I was greeted with a smile and it felt so welcoming. I have been to a lot of Yoga-Pilates studios, and this studio had the most infectious vibes!!!!!! I absolutely loved it and the people who work there. So grateful there is a place like this. I feel at home. Not to mention it's absolutely gorgeous!!!!!! What??!!!! They are doing it right. 💜✌🏽

Favorite studio in PDX. Great variety of teachers and styles (Alex, Isabel, Kristi, Eve, Rachel, Jill, Galen, Lara, Ian all recommended). HUGE main studio and smaller hot studio. Best part is the community -- warm vibe, frequent social events, good friends. One complaint: showers are a drag.
