Going to this gym was one of the best decisions i’ve made! The gym environment is through the roof, everyone here is extremely friendly and even more supportive of each other. Rob trains me for powerlifting and he is not only an amazing trainer but also a great person to be around just like everyone else at the gym. I always look forward to coming in and training. There is never a dull moment at gym!

I've been working out here for a year so I guess it's time I finally put in a review. The gym is good and well laid out, it has all of the equipment you need and enough weights and bars that you won't be left waiting for things to free up. Rob is a great coach, he can coach elite powerlifters and complete newbies easily and goes out of his way to make you feel welcome every time you come in. As a 40 something who sits in front of a computer all day I'm very pleased with the progress I've made in the last year in lifting strength and general health.

Joining this gym has been one of the best decisions I’ve made! Rob is an exceptional trainer who genuinely takes the time to understand your goals and tailors each workout to help you reach them. His approach is straightforward yet incredibly effective, and he brings such positive energy to every session that it makes training something I truly look forward to.
Having worked with two other trainers before Rob, I can confidently say he’s the best I’ve ever had. He’s helped me progress further and faster toward my goals than I ever thought possible. I even got into powerlifting under his guidance—and recently competed, something I never imagined I’d do.
The gym itself has a fantastic atmosphere. There’s a real sense of community—we share stories, joke around, and most importantly, support and push each other to grow stronger every day.
The combination of Rob’s expert coaching and the uplifting environment makes every session both effective and enjoyable. I wholeheartedly recommend this gym to anyone looking for serious results and a great experience along the way.

Stopped in while on a getaway weekend with my friends and had to get a lift in and this place was fantastic! Has great equipment for strength training, really nice combo racks and deadlift platforms for a powerlifter looking to get a quick lift in like me, and is so clean and well kept! The owner Rob was extremely nice and helpful!

I have been going to Akers for over a year now and it has honestly been the best experience. Rob Akers got me into powerlifting around September. Since joining I’ve met so many new people and everyone is so encouraging and supportive. There is never a dull day in the gym. Rob has made me come out of my shell and there are people that I talk to that I wouldn’t have if it weren’t for the gym. I always feel comfortable and confident in the space and there is no one else to thank but Rob for the gym he has created.

My son (13) does Jiu Jitsu and has been wanting to put on some size. Akers of Strength came as a recommendation from a friend and I’m glad I listened.
Rob is an amazing coach and does all the hard work putting together the work out plans, diet, and the most important part to me is ensures he is lifting properly to reduce the chances of injury.

I decided to join Akers strength & performance going into my junior year, my only regret was not joining sooner. Rob is not only an amazing coach but a close friend. I’ve been going to Akres of strength and performance for around two years now, and signing up for this gym was one of the best decisions I have ever made. I play football and kickboxing, two highly demanding sports that need me to perform at my peak and acres of strength has given me the edge that I need to become overwhelmingly better than the rest of my teammates. Rob acres is an incredibly talented strength and conditioning coach who was able to cater to any physical needs or desires for a plethora of sports. This gym does not just focus on becoming stronger, when you go here, you acquire strength, agility, speed, and toughness to better yourself not Justin sports, but in every day life.

I’ve only been powerlifting with Rob for a few months, and I LOVE the atmosphere here. It’s not just the equipment, it’s him and the people he allows to train here as well. AOS is NOT the type of gym where you put your headphones in and wonder what everyone is thinking about you. It is the type of gym that makes you want to stay longer after completing a 2 hour lift. I have been lifting with Rob since 2020. The atmosphere in the gym is so positive and uplifting. Everyone there cheers you on and pushes you to be your best. I am a Junior Field Hockey Player at the University of Scranton and I have become a much better player because of Rob. Rob has taught me so much, not only about lifting, but also about nutrition and how the lifts I am doing apply directly to my sport. Awesome place. Awesome environment. Awesome trainer. If you want to be fit and have a great time doing it - AOS is the place to go.

This is the best gym around for personal training and excellent weight lifting programs. I have been going here for the past 4 years and wouldn’t have wanted to go to any other gym. I've been training with Rob for about two years now, and I can't provide enough gratitude to him for his tutelage and expertise in obtaining my fitness goals. I'm a 20 year old guy with a background in wrestling, but before Rob, I never seriously considered powerlifting as an option to traditional training. Since then, I've gained about 20 pounds of muscle mass and my combined numbers across squat, bench, and deadlift have increased over 400 pounds. I would highly recommend his establishment and his character to anyone considering a private and personal training style gym.

Highly recommend going to this gym, I’m 16 and I’ve went to this gym for a year now and I love it! I’m currently competing in powerlifting thanks to Coach Rob. He has fixed my form a bunch and increased my strength a crazy amount. He’s very knowledgeable in nutrition and athletics. Rob is a fantastic coach, you should consider checking this place out.

Rob has worked with my son and daughter in developing them into stronger and healthier teenagers. He understands the needs of athletes and can provide knowledge to them in many areas including weight training, diet, and cardio. He challenges them to improve their own numbers and compete against themselves. From a parental standpoint I’ve been able to stay hands off and trust that my children are being challenged and continuously improving. I would, and have, recommend to other parents and friends. Akers of strength has been a huge part of my sons wrestling career. Rob pays special attention to detail for each persons needs and wants. A personal plan and goals are set and he motivates and encourages them to work hard to fulfill those goals. I can’t thank him enough for getting my son prepared to wrestle in college.
