About the Club

Our philosophy on fitness and exercise is that movement quality is always more important than movement quantity. We can decrease the chance of injury while maximizing improvements through improved movement. This is accomplished through regular testing and individualized corrective exercise. Movement quality and injury prevention will always trump cool-looking exercises and workouts intended to push well beyond one’s capabilities. It’s our goal to make everyone in our community to move, feel, and perform better. We will get you there with just the right mix of traditional and nontraditional exercises.
We offer 1-1 personal training, semi-private training, program design, and remote training.

Joe Chaitkin and his team are professionals and true experts in the health, fitness and conditioning industry. My high school aged son was recovering from a sports injury and needed something more than physical therapy to help him progress through. Joe and Jason have the education, certifications and experience to support corrective, functional movement as a foundation followed by a progressive plan to enhance performance. My son is experiencing positive results already and really enjoys working with each of them which we plan to continue. I’ve been working out with Bryn at Align Fitness for a few months now. She is always prompt, organized and enthusiastic. She consistently adjusts my work out to my specific needs and strengths. She is encouraging and super knowledgeable. She always explains the “science” behind whatever exercise she has me do. Overall I have been extremely satisfied with my experience at Align. After recovering from a car accident, Joe worked with me to develop a tailored exercise program to allow me to safely get back to the gym. Through his assistance, I was able to get back to the activities that I was doing pre-accident and he was able to give me modifications to any exercises that I was still having difficulty in doing. My husband and I started going (virtual of course) to Align Fitness in the middle of the pandemic. I was feeling like a slug and I needed some accountability and motivation. The owner, Joe, gave us a virtual fitness assessment and we were able to get started right away! He set us up with one of his trainer's, Greg, who is a perfect fit for us! The team is so accommodating and willing to work with whatever constraints you might have. They even make it really easy to purchase additional sessions directly on their website! My experience with Joe has been outstanding. Given today's environment the one-on-one personal training sessions have been essential and all my sessions have been remotely facilitated via video. The recent pandemic forced me to explore strength training I had been neglecting after a serious accident many years ago. Not sure what I was thinking as I’ve quickly learned when I’d been missing. The coaching provided has been personalized to my injury, “aligned” with my goals and has been nothing short of exceptional. I never thought I could enjoy remote training as much as I am. While I thought I would prefer in-person training (and that will be nice one day), I may consider continuing with remote training as it’s quite convenient and just as effective. I've been working with Joe and his team for several months now. Here's the most important thing that matters: It's working! And, the personalized structure Joe created for me is going to continue to work long term; not end up yet another attempt at a fitness improvement. From the first assessment, to both individual and semi-private sessions, the team and environment is fun and supportive. There are sessions and exercises for all sorts of preferences and needs. For me, the mace, kettle-bell and TRX training are incredibly effective, but there is no shortage of cardio/movement/high intensity exercises available. I have also found the nutritional counseling very helpful. The routine check-ins not only provide the accountability you'd obviously expect, but the encouragement and positivity is wonderful. I have already found a few tips that should lead to lifelong change that aren't on any blog post or book that I've found. For me, I knew I needed the next step beyond going for a run, or yoga classes or the basics that a gym membership provide, and Joe and Align Fitness delivered a thoughtful program that works. My advice is not to hesitate, just give it a try.

I never feel cheated on the difficulty of the workout or the time of the session (some folks I’ve worked with in the past seem to be trying to get you out of there ASAP!) but I’ve also never felt pushed beyond my capabilities. After a series of disk herniations (and surgeries to alleviate sciatica), I was feeling like I'd never regain my once-fit body. I was scared to work out, since I always seemed to re-injure my back. All that has changed since I found Align Fitness. Joe was very responsive to my email inquiry, and I began training with Jodi right away. I have been training twice a week (both with one-on-one training with Jodi and also participating in StrongHER group classes) and I feel SO GOOD. I am much stronger and more confident! I can workout knowing that Jodi is ALWAYS keeping an eye on my form so I won't hurt my back. Who knew I could deadlift a kettle bell? Or swing a mace? When I began, I was so fearful of those exercise techniques, but now I'm having fun and feeling amazing. Jodi is the most sweet, funny, friendly person and an excellent teacher. I have been working with Joe for about 3 months now and I wish I would have known about him sooner. I have worked with other trainers in the past and they don't even compare. Joe takes his time to evaluate you before you even pick up a weight to see where there may be areas that need to be strengthened that you might not even know about (like balance, weakness in your core, etc). He takes all this info into consideration when he plans out your workout. He takes his time to explain each exercise and how it is supposed to be done the right way. He pushes you to do your best, BUT more importantly what he knows you're capable of. I look forward to seeing him twice a week because I know I'm going to get a good workout and feel amazing afterwards!

I came to Align Fitness a bit wary of "trainers". In the past I've had a number of injuries to my lower back, shoulder, and knee which were ignored by trainers at some of the top gyms, which, or course, led to more injury. Not the case at Align Fitness! While Joe Chaitken isn't handling me like a fragile piece, he's displayed an awareness of my limitations, and an interest in finding the "right" workouts to strengthen those trouble areas so that injury remains part of my past. After only a few session I was feeling stronger and more energetic. Joe has a unique way of making me want to push, without trying to make me push. He always seems to know right when I need a little encouraging nudge, and when I need to catch my breathe. I look forward to every session, and look forward to what I already know will be astonishing results!

I started training with Joe after being discharged from physical therapy for a neck injury. I have always been athletic and in good physical shape, however because of severe neck pain, I had stopped working out altogether and was very unhappy and in poor physical shape. Joe developed a specific program for me that eased me back into shape without causing further pain to my neck. When I started with Joe, I could hardly do one push-up and could run less than half a mile (slowly). I am now running 5Ks (and beyond) and able to participate in high-intensity cardio and strength training classes at my gym. Joe helped me gain back my confidence and get back to my former self!
