This place always something. The pool closed today and who knows why and the whirlpool not as hot as it should be. Always something here

I donβt even know where to START. The management here has the customer service skills of a potato left in the sun too long. I could scream into a void and get a faster, more thoughtful response. I have never seen a group of people look this shocked by the concept of βdoing their job. They are rude and genuinely terrible at doing their job. Will not be coming back. If I could give negative stats I would.

I really enjoy going to the Ambler Y. The land and water classes are very good. My only concern is that there is not enough room in the womenβs locker room when there are 2 water aerobic classes going on at the same time. The place is so clean and the desk staff is very friendly and helpful.

Used to be a cool place - they have so much space and variety of equipment and classes with really fun instructors. However in the last year or more has become super controlling. No bags - even if you need a small bag for your essentials like lifting straps or your headphones or phone, they are militant about no bags anywhere at all times. I believe the issue was middle school kids, but instead of addressing that directly, they blanket make the experience inconvenient for everyone. Crazy to expect you to make a thousand trips back to the locker room for things like your lifting straps or squat wedges. I saw so many people with their shit (phones, keys, wallets, waterbottles) all over the floor, begging to be tripped over. More of a hazard than if it was just self contained in a small bag. Also super intense about getting people out 1 hour, 30 min, 15 min and then 5 minutes throwing everyone out before closure. If you want to be micromanaged with signs everywhere of no bags and donβt do this and donβt do that and keep your shoes even if you are just working on one solitary exercise for balance, then this is the gym for you.

Gym is ok.
My problem is the pool.
Both of my kids are 4ft and 5β6ft and have to stay in 2ft water with a safety vest on in order to get in the water if theyβre not a strong swimmer. Which is insane to me. They couldnβt even enjoy the pool . We left after 5 min. Too many rules here. I rather take the drive to the Roxborough location.

This is a place that feels like homeβ¦β¦.
There is no better deal out there if you are looking for high quality classes. There are many classes to choose from morning to night.
There are all age groups and so many friendly faces.
The gym has great equipment and is clean.
Definitely worth trying out. You just might become a family member.

I pay every month for my children to have an experience in the pool. The indoor slide does not work. Family Swim on the weekdays starts at 6 while the kids pool is unoccupied. The lifeguards are rude. Also they over capitalize with the outdoor pool making us pay 310.00 for a membership to only use if the weather permits and we have time in our overworked busy schedules. The amount is too expensive and does not correlate with the experience. Just my thoughts and my personal experience.

If you want a gym thatβs almost never open then this is the gym for you! Without warning closes 5 pm on weekends, do they lower the price for the lost hours? NOPE! Broken sauna for weeks, think they lowered the price by even a nickel then? NOPE!

It is a good ymca. The locker rooms need private changing rooms and bigger showers with doors, not curtains. The locker rooms look outdated anyway, compared to the rest of the facility.

The Kidzone people are amazing. They have helped my granddaughter get used to the new experience of being left there. They have all been patient and kind.
The classes are so well done. My favorite so far is Yin Yoga!
The front desk people have answered every question and helped sort out some problems with the payments.
The facility is beautiful and so clean. The equipment is is great shape and easy to use.

Do NOT sign up for this gym if you are a serious weightlifter/powerlifter (or if you have a medical condition and potentially need your medical devices while in the gym). They just enacted a "no bags in the gym" rule. This wouldn't be that big of an issue if the locker rooms were in the gym itself, but they're not. Also, there aren't enough lockers for everyone who comes in with a bag in the first place - so jokes on them.
They don't want bags because of a tripping hazard, but me coming in with a belt, straps, water bottle, squat sneakers, inhaler, etc. and putting them on the floor seems to be the solution - makes sense.
It's ironic that they're worried about people tripping over bags and not all the equipment bunched up together by the racks/dumbbells - I've seen people trip over them on a daily basis. But let's be honest, gyms in and of themselves are a safety hazard. One person trips over a bag and now everyone pays for it. There were better solutions to this than banning bags.

This facility is closed far too often. They recently started closing on weekends at 5 pm (previously having raised it to 7 pm) but besides that they close the branch at the drop of a hat! Labor Day the whole branch is closed for a full day? And yet thereβs time when Iβve seen it open on major holidays like thanksgiving. And at time it says itβs open online and will be closed when I get there.

It is one of best YMCA in my area because its relatively new and facilities but the management needs improve. They donβt really clean enough water in the pools when it needed and close pools without any updates in last minute due to weather. If they needed to close the pools last minute, need to give updates in the app but the management never do or no apology.

This is the second time since June we went to this location on Saturday to use the indoor pool with my children. Chriss & Bruce treated us very poorly, very rude & unprofessional.
I was told over the phone that I could bring a guest to use the indoor pool. When I arrived there last Saturday. I was told by Bruce that guests will only allow before 12 pm. I said that's not what I was told over the phone. He called me a liar even though I showed him my call log history. He was very rude and said i don't believe that you called."" After driving 30 minutes with my three children's including my youngest 2 years old and my guest, they wouldn't let us use the indoor pool. Didn't even apologize for the inconvenience. I feel that I'm treated this way because of my accent and my skin color.

Wow I took my family today July 6 at this location and I was totally disappointed, from going in the pool and getting stop & corrected by every life guard from donβt do this and donβt do that I have children in summer camp for the last 4 years and they were just their to have fun but as I was noticing everything my kids were getting corrected for others were doing I donβt know if it was that my kids were African American decent, but also the other families of the same race felt it as well Iβve been to almost every YMCA in the area and they were amazing warm felt and caring, and lets not talk about how they donβt let you in the outside pool unless you pay the $300 fee per what the front counter told us out loud or have a Green wristband to even go down the indoor slide am not writing this to get anything free or get anyone in trouble am just trying to shine some light on the emotional embarrassment my family felt the Y is supposed to be a family oriented environment, but when your child say they treating us like that because of our skin color is very mind-boggling but hey you canβt change everything or anyone the only 2 people that were the nicest were the front desk guy with the quarter trick & the Maintenance guy that said he invented the camera door beep from Loweβs and my child was able to get on the indoor slide 3 times and then afterwards she was ask whereβs her green wristband why not stop her on the first time

Lots of activities and things to do for the entire family - many included in the membership fee and those that are not are very reasonably priced. The staff members are usually very friendly. My only peeve is that some of the much younger staff/ instructors are more focused on their phones and socializing than doing their jobs. Iβm aware that this is a problem at many establishments.

Itβs a GREAT place, very clean, in a convenient location & hours of operation are great. I gave it 4 stars because although a great place to workout, the staff can either be really pleasant or completely ignore you depending on which staff member it is. It isnβt really a consistent βpleasantryβ. For example, around the time I go, thereβs a gentleman that scans the barcode I will say βhey Goodmorning! How are youβ and he always looks at me as if I just insulted him but will have a full blown conversation with the person after me, literally call them by name. On the other hand, when I go into the gym area, the fitness trainers & managers go absolutely above and beyond to make sure I understand how certain equipment works when I ask & will even give me words of encouragement. Just giving my personal experience, like previously stated, there are some people who have never experienced it at all because they are greeted on a first name basis. Honestly, that doesnβt put a huge damper on my experience at the Y, itβs a great place & I plan to continue going for years to come.

The Ambler YMCA is great! They have a lot of different classes, the gym and fitness equipment is abundant that even on busy times you usually can still get a machine. The staff is friendly and welcoming, the class instructors have a good understanding of what they are teaching as well.
Giving three stars because I never give 5, there is always room for improvement. Took one star off for the locker situation. They have lockers that have locks on them as well as lockers for you to bring your own. 9/10 times, the lockers with the locks are broken but not posted they are broken. I have put my belongings in them and then have ti find a staff member with a key to unlock the lock.
