Amrita Yoga and Wellness is my favorite group workout/yoga Studio in Philadelphia. They offer so much variety in their different classes from yoga, to meditation, to Pilates, to barre to even aerial yoga, etc! What I love most is how intentional the instructors are. They really care about their clients. It’s a wonderful place to recharge and heal your mind, body and soul, especially in their yoga classes! I recommend the studio to all my friends in the area! You can find anything you need at Amrita!

I have been a member at Amrita for about 2 years now. Not only is the studio beautiful, the people leading the classes have their own unique approach which makes this place so special. When I first started here, I was hoping there would be other classes available that worked with my schedule and now that’s a reality. I feel myself getting stronger physically and mentally. Additionally, this is where I met Alison (one of the teachers) who has become not only a great friend and mentor, but also I was able to attend her retreat in Medellín, Colombia and meet so many amazing people. To say this studio has helped push me out of my comfort zone would be an understatement. Amrita is a valuable asset to this community ❤️

5/5 stars doesn't do it justice - would rate 100/5 if I could. I started as an absolute beginner to yoga in Jan of 2025, and have genuinely never been more excited to stick with a fitness studio and the classes. The instructors are incredible, the class schedule has SO many offerings, and the monthly rate for unlimited classes feels extremely affordable compared to most other places. I've tried just about every type of fitness class, gym, and studio over the past 15 years and this one is #1.

This place feels like home. From the friendly staff to the engaging classes, I’ve been coming here for four to five months now, and I’m completely hooked. Erin, the best instructor I’ve ever had, is one of the reasons I love coming to class. I’ve taken most of my classes with her.
I also took a Hot Yoga class with Tracy, and it was amazing! She was incredibly understanding that this was my first time in hot yoga, but she made it a great experience. I tried new things and had a blast.
I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a great atmosphere, experienced instructors, and engaging classes.

My favorite yoga studio in Philly by far! There are great Pilates, barre, and yoga classes that are all so different. I love their hot yoga, flow, Pilates, and barre classes. A really good safe space without judgement, can’t ever go to another studio

I have been taking classes here for a couple of years now, and have nothing but amazing things to say. This is studio provides so much sanctuary and is such a welcoming environment. No matter the class, whether it’s yoga, hot yoga, Pilates, aerial yoga or a specialty class, this studio has it all and its instructors are the most inspirational teachers/people. Love it here, cannot recommend more☺️

Been going weekly evening Hot infrared flow for about a month now and it has benefited me in every aspect. Personally brings me joy to be apart of Stacia’s class. I believe genuinely good people are there doing good work. All the teachers are welcoming, all levels are welcomed! Great for lifestyle, a date, or something different. I think it’s a clean studio, please take shoes off at the door! Great location and easy to find, also parking may be hard to find. I highly recommend in North Philly, for someone who is looking for a yoga studio.

Not a beginner friendly studio. I called to schedule a beginner class and bought. Package which included a water bottle and shared I needed to buy a mat. I was assured the class was for beginners. When I arrived, no one was working the front desk. No greeting. No bottle. No tour, no anything. I asked if I was in the right class and was told yes of course! These people were doing head stands and the instructor was calling out names of positions and everyone (but me) knew them…. So absolutely not beginner friendly. I was so discouraged. Never again. So glad I booked a trial and didn’t just blindly sign up.

I just moved to Philly from out of state recently. Before that, I moved around a lot over the years. I have been looking for a yoga studio that fits exactly what I’m looking for for years now, and I finally found it with Amrita. All of the teachers are excellent and the quality of the classes is superb!

My favourite studio in Philly. So much so that proximity to Amrita was a factor in deciding where to move! All the teachers here are phenomenal. They make a point to remember you by name if you come in frequently, which is nice. The teaching style at Amrita is really thoughtful and a lot of care is put into exploring the mind, body, spirit connection. I find that each class I attend supports me as I move through my daily life, and a stressful day is always eased by an evening 1/2/3 class.
What a hidden gem! The membership is 100% worth it.

I’ve been attending Amrita Yoga and Wellness for about seven months now, and I’m so glad I found them when I did! I love Heather’s Yinyasa class because it’s the perfect mix of a fast pace and a deep stretch and really helps with my work stress, but their heated classes and vinyasa classes are also amazing.

I love Amrita! Lots of really good teachers here - Andrea, Tracey, Stacia, Alison. I can also say that the teachers legitimately know what they're doing here, which is definitely not the case with all yoga studios. Really nice vibe here as well. I loved that they have a changing room. Rest room is nice and clean. The space is really nice. Only thing I don't love is the water feature in the larger room - if you have a hearing disability as I do it's pretty impossible to hear the teacher with the background noise. It's a nice, relaxing idea but not great for accessibility. I will also say I'd like to see more interesting classes outside of hot yoga. I'm not a hot yoga fan and have to take those classes to benefit from some of the excellent teachers who are focused in this area. Regardless, one of the best studios I've been to in Philly.

I’ve been going here for 2 years now and it’s my favorite part about living in the area! The space is beautiful, I instantly feel more at peace upon walking in. The classes are physically challenging and more serious than an average yoga class in my opinion. Each instructor has a different style and every class is different. It is encouraged to come a few minutes early and meditate beforehand. This is a great place for anyone wanting to learn and improve their practice.

I’ve been coming here for almost 2 years and absolutely love it! The classes are consistently challenging and dynamic. I particularly love Heathers classes, she changes up her flows so that if you’re a regular you don’t ever get stagnate in your practice. She provides all sorts of modifications which range from beginner to expert (this is always mind boggling to see how far you can push your practice).

I absolutely love Amrita! My only qualm is that I didn't find it sooner!
The teachers are all lovely and fun, the classes are challenging, but work well for both beginners and more advanced practicers. They really get to know you here, it feels very welcoming and inclusive. Lots of good energy and the space itself is very beautiful. I thought it was a spa when I walked in!
Notes for beginners:
Don't be afraid to ask! - They respond very quickly via text or email.
Shoes off downstairs, everything else can go upstairs (yes there are cubbies).
If you want to wear socks, make sure they are super grippy.
If you have a membership, the only classes you absolutely need to bring your own mat are the hot classes.
If you don't have a membership, then you need mats for hot and normal temperature yoga classes, but not barre, pilates, or aerial yoga.
Every class has options for different ability levels and different energy levels. Some days you feel like pushing yourself, other days you're just trying to get yourself moving. Meet yourself where you are.
Always keep your shoulders down and back and always engage your core. Both help avoid injuries and make you stronger.
Make sure to bring a bottle with you, the studio's tap water is filtered. If you forget, there is bottled water available to purchase.
Pet. The. Dog. His name is Tigran and he is a TOTAL sweetheart. Definitely the unofficial mascot of Amrita.

This is beautiful studio space that has a lot of potential. Unfortunately, I had difficulty finding a class that suited my style of yoga after trying ~25 classes. The classes were a little too crowded to be comfortable and I never felt truly welcomed by the instructors here. I do recommend checking out Andrea's aerial yoga classes - they are a fun environment to try something new and Andrea is very encouraging. Amrita does offer discounted community classes and affordable pricing options, compared to other studios in Philly.

Went there for a couple of months 2021. There aren't much places in the city has both hot yoga and aerial yoga and some other varieties, cool place, clean and pretty. This studio is the best I've been to in the city. Amrita puts meditation and mindfulness first using the asanas only to deepen your meditative state and restrain your mind. If you aren't connecting breath to movement you aren't doing yoga. That being said you will absolutely get challenged physically and the community here is unlike any other I have seen. There is truly no ego in this space and the instructors and students are actually rad humans you would want to hang out with outside of the studio. Regardless if you are just sticking your toe in the water or a seasoned yogi, you have to check out or revisit this studio. I can even say it's better than when I first visited Amrita years ago. I've seen other reviews making statements about the lack of classes and price of membership, I can tell you hands down this studio is well worth the price of admission offering classes daily Sunday - Saturday. If you have the motivation, trust me Amrita has the classes to challenge you on multiple levels. Namaste.

I would love to join this studio, however you simply don’t offer enough classes to justify even the reasonable price of $88 a month for 8 in-person classes. I would think that since you have a non-compete contract with City Fitness down the street for them to not offer yoga classes as a courtesy to your business, that you would take that opportunity and offer more to your fishtown yogis! Please, please, please add more classes!!

Heather is the singular best yoga teacher I've ever had, and it's not even close. This studio is also one of Philly's most gorgeous, with amazing flowing water fountains, tall ceilings, a crystal chandelier, and a sun roof. Outside their classes, they also offer incredible workshops and have a lovely community of regulars that come back for the high quality teachers. Oh yea -- did I mention Heather makes you feel like you can do anything? 10/10, cannot suggest enough.

I am not new to yoga, I practiced regularly at City Fitness multiple times a week for more than a year pre pandemic. A took a class with Heather and was extremely disappointed. I struggled to keep up with class due to personal issues and at one point needed to step out of the class.
After about 10 minutes, Heather did come to check on me. She encouraged me to come back for the wind down. I rejoined and finished the class.
After class, Heather, in front of all the students told me, now that she knows why I’m coming to yoga that her class probably isn’t for me. She said it clearly wasn’t what I signed up for and rattled off a list of teachers and classes she though would be more to my level. She also made a comment that she is covering for a teacher on Friday so I probably shouldn’t take that class.
In my experience, yoga is a safe space for everyone regardless of level, body type etc. I have never felt judged or criticized in a yoga class until now.

This was my first yoga experience in this city and it was really great. The staff is super friendly and helpful, the class I took was well organized, very calming, and it challenged me a little which is something I wanted out of the experience.
The building is in a great location and is very clean and calming on the inside. It wasn't overly fancy and intimidating, and it also wasn't too hokey or downplayed/minimalized.
What I enjoyed most was just I felt good after I left. I wasn't tired or sore but I felt energized in my body and mind and that's a nice feeling when I leave a building.
Definitely my first recommendation for a yoga studio in the city.

The near infrared heated yoga was amazing; I felt I was getting limber as the class progressed; definitely sweated a lot; leaving me energized and humbled at the end. Great class.
Update: I have gone to this class twice more and enjoyed it more than the previous time. If it wasn't for my schedule I'd be going at least 2-3 times a week
The flow and yin classes are also awesome in their own way. Flow is challenging in holding postures coordinated with breath; the yin is long holds that have helped sore muscles and joints recover. The teachers are great at helping you deepen your practice.

- Environment is perfect, just an amazing vibe and feeling being there. Beautiful studio that is a lot of fun to practice in.

- The classes are challenging yet accessible. There are plenty of alterations that help you remain comfortable while still advancing your practice. They feature such a wide variety of classes, too, that I can work around my 9-6 work schedule and still hit almost every practice type I want (please provide more morning/evening Hatha though!).

By far my favorite studio ever. Incredible, lovely teachers. I always walk away from class feeling like I've learned something new, a rarity in my experience in city studios. Great balance between the spiritual meditative side of yoga and the more physical workout. Gorgeous studio, and very welcoming environment and people to all levels of ability, experience, personality. A well-run business, also a rarity among yoga studios: they're highly organized, even have their own app, and partner with other local businesses. I absolutely love this place and it's the one and only studio I have ever been to that continually helps inspire me to keep up with it and return day after day for a joyful, fulfilling practice.
