I kept putting off joining Anchor for the longest time, and finally did it!
I was nervous because I've been dealing with synovitis on the elbow that causes the arm to lock with pain, and had a surgery scheduled for it.
The coaches had been great understanding my limits, and as I have gotten stronger, the elbow pain has diminished considerably to the point of postponing my surgery
They're different than any other gym that I've been. Coach Charlene designs your personal routine that's overlooked everytime by her or the other coaches
I love all their yoga classes, especially with coach Dominick that has been also very watchful of my flexibility progress
The people have been very friendly and welcoming, as well.
Don't wait like I did, join Anchor!

I have been a member at Anchor Life and Fitness for years and truly cannot recommend it enough. The trainers are incredibly knowledgeable and make sure every workout is done safely and effectively. I tore my meniscus last winter and was told I needed surgery, but after working with Charlene and her team on a personalized program, I was able to cancel my surgery and I am now pain free.

Beyond the workouts, it is such a supportive and tight knit community. The members and coaches genuinely care about each other, and I have made many lasting friendships along the way. It has been one of the best long term investments in my health and well being.

Not consistent - that was me a year and a half ago. Then came my first six week challenge and something shifted. Thanks to Anchor life + fitness I now go to classes five times a week. I take part in Small Group sessions, Anchor Fit sessions and restorative classes. Anchor coaches are the best - knowledgeable and supportive.

I’ve been a member at Anchor Fitness for about a month, and I couldn’t be happier with my experience so far. The entire staff is friendly, welcoming, and truly attentive to personal fitness needs, which makes every visit enjoyable and motivating. A special shout out to Dom, who I’ve worked with the most—he’s been incredibly supportive and has tailored my program to fit my goals perfectly. His dedication and encouragement have made a huge difference in keeping me on track

I’ve been a member at anchor for about a year now and it has truly changed my life. I was pretty much a beginner to most of the exercises however felt super comfortable from the start. The coaches and owner worked with me personally to make sure I had good form before moving to weights. The other members are awesome, I’ve made some great friends, and I’m motivated to get there for classes. Overall, if you want to get stronger or healthier in any way, Anchor Fit and Life is truly worth it.

I (60 years old) joined anchor about three months ago after my prior golf fitness flexibility class timing no longer worked for me.

I absolutely enjoy going to Anchor for many reasons including the Staff (extremely pleasant, knowledgeable and helpful), the other participants are friendly and focused, and the variety of services provided t Anchor. They provides multiple time slots to fit any schedule. I personally do 2 small group sessions and a yoga class per week, however, when I hurt my upper back (on my own time), I got a massage at Anchor that actually allowed my to play golf the next day for my tournament (I did not expect that).

As a result, after 3 months, I feel better than I ever have this time of the golf season. My lower back isn’t hurting after playing. I can play 3-4 days in a row (physically) where are the end of last year I wasn’t sure if I should play back to back anymore.

Anchor fitness has checked all the boxes for me. This is a place where the staff meets you where you are and helps you achieve whatever goals you may have. As a Middle Aged woman I was facing some auto immune issues as well as cholesterol problems. I can honestly say that in the two years that I have been a member my auto immune problems have greatly diminished and my triglycerides and cholesterol have come down significantly. This strength training has helped me sleep better, and has given me more energy overall. I also wholeheartedly believe that I have been injury free playing tennis because of the overall strength and conditioning anchor has provided. Charlene and her team are knowledgeable and encouraging. They provide a family ‘like’ environment and structure workouts to fit your needs and lifestyle. I highly recommend them.

Anchor is the answer. I have been a member of the Y for almost 10 years and where it does provide a nice workout facility it did not bring me the knowledge or friendship I was hoping to develop. Everyone doing their own thing with headphones isolates people more than providing a community feeling. Anchor was immediately different. No headphones or trying to figure out how to do something by copying what someone else is doing. Anchor teaches you every move in the best way for YOUR body and ability. We workout together doing personally modified movements that allow open encouragement from not only the coaches but also your fellow swolemates. Once you start you are immediately in with the class you are working out with. The coaches are warm and knowledgeable and more than happy to jump in and show you the best way to do something instead of a quick walk by with correction. I went from maybe going to the gym once a week to Mon-Fri 8 am class and now my week doesn’t feel right without starting at Anchor. I went in knowing NOTHING about working out and now I am crushing it. Come for the knowledge and stay for the amazing environment that they provide.

The minute you walk into Anchor you are a part of a community that cares about your fitness and health journey. I started at Anchor about 3 months ago and it has changed the way I think about working out … in a positive way! I feel better mentally, physically, and look forward to getting stronger.

Charlene and her crew will always support you, make sure your form is right, and push you to be your best self. Have a question on how to do a certain exercise? They will never make you feel a certain way - they welcome questions and want to see you succeed. I look forward to coming to class and being surrounded by a group of likeminded people who want to get stronger and healthier. We work hard and have fun doing it too.

Thanks to Charlene and all the trainers for creating this beautiful community. I’m so happy that I went out of my comfort zone and found my place!

I’ve been part of the Anchor fam since July of last year, and it’s been the best decision I could have made for my health and wellbeing. I arrived with zero knowledge of strength training yet never once felt awkward or out of place. The coaches and other members are non-judgmental, welcoming, and supportive. Everyone, regardless of fitness level or ability, belongs.

We just wrapped up the Strong 45 challenge, and it was the kick in the butt I needed to get other aspects of my life in line with what I’ve been doing in the gym. For the last 45 days, we focused not only on eating nutritious, unprocessed foods, but we also prioritized daily meditation, reading, outdoor walks, proper hydration, and solid sleep. These are things that I KNOW are good for me but often get neglected because, well, LIFE.

This challenge required us to be intentional with how we fueled our minds and bodies. It was tough, but we received support the entire way. From health seminars and weekly check-ins with our coach to the camaraderie of other members along for the ride, it never felt like we were on our own.

I’ve lost pounds and inches while gaining a new lifestyle that makes me feel so damn good! Highly recommend this challenge to anyone considering for next time!

I used to dread bringing our trash cans up our steep driveway. I would be winded and reminded of how out of shape I was. Now, thanks to Anchor, I actually look forward to this weekly task because it reminds me of how strong I've become.

I look forward to getting up and heading to Anchor at 6 a.m. every morning. The community is wholesome, and the coaches each bring their own unique style. They help you safely and effectively understand how to lift weights.

Even after a year, I still have questions about my form, and the coaches are always there, equipped with the knowledge to ensure that what I'm doing is best for my body.

Anchor has given me the tools to transform my life—I now have the energy I was searching for to keep up with my two little boys. Over the summer, I was walking off the beach with my 3-year-old. I had a chair on my back, a cooler over one arm, a bag of sand toys over the other, and another chair. When my son started crying because his feet were burning from the hot afternoon sand, I was able to lift him up, despite already carrying all that weight, and carry him off the beach. It was a moment I’ll never forget, and it truly wouldn’t have been possible if I hadn’t joined Anchor.

Recently, I received some bloodwork results showing my biological age is 9.8 years younger than my calendar age. After turning 40 this year, seeing that I’m biologically 30 is pretty cool. I can’t help but think that focusing on my skeletal muscle and the ripple effect it has on the rest of my body played a part in that result.

I’ve been a member member of Anchor for a few years now. I had a small group class this morning and I walked in and my elbow/wrist/right arm/shoulder were quite angry this morning and have been for some time after a quick discussion with Charlene and a quick change in my program to slow things down and have a warm-up session to slow things down and open things up. I was able to have a strong workout session afterwards. AMAZING! I walked in feeling injured hurt sad so many things and I walked out. Feeling amazing strong with a new plan and mindset in action!

I think everyone dreads surgery and the long recovery that often follows. I have to share how thrilled I am that Anchor was there for me when I was able to start exercising again after my bilateral mastectomy this past July. Who would have thought a gym I joined in 2017 would literally be saving my physical and mental health years later!
It was only recommended by the surgeon that I walk for exercise the first 4 weeks post op (which I did, with some planks and elevated pushups thrown in, as I usually push myself a bit). I returned to Anchor 4 weeks to the day after surgery and started a program tailored to what I needed for strength and mobility recovery. After that first week my mobility was nearly 100%. I am now almost 8 weeks post op and have about 90% of my upper body strength back. Not too shabby for a 65 year old woman.
I can confidently say that I would never have been able to return so quickly to pre surgery levels if it were not for the dedication and genuine caring of all of the yoga and fitness coaches at Anchor Life and Fitness

Anchor has been an amazing experience for me. I’ll start out by saying I don’t like working out, I’m lazy. I had a Y membership for 4 years and never went.

I signed up for Anchor and I go 5 days a week now. The app program is a great system for lazy folk like myself, because I can’t not show up for a class I signed up for cause the instructor will know and I’m likely keeping someone else from the class.

I love all the instructors; their eyes are on each person making sure everyone is doing the workouts properly and pushing you to finish/go up in weight (they do this mildly and nicely)!

I feel so much better each morning after my workout, my posture is noticeably better and I’m stronger. I love the yoga classes for my joints. It’s a real community; everyone (trainers and members) is really nice and supporting. I highly recommend checking Anchor out.

I've been a member of Anchor for almost three years. I had always been a big cardio guy (cycling, etc), and while I still enjoy those activities, Anchor has made me realize that strength, flexibility, and yoga are just, if not more, important for overall health and wellness. The trainers have been wonderful at providing targeted actions to improve my flexibility and lessen my back pain and offer alternatives and form adjustments during our workouts to place less strain on my back. Anchor's small classes are enjoyable and varied, making going to the gym far less of a chore. The results have been increased muscle mass, increased strength, improved flexibility, and a broader understanding of overall health.

More recently, I've been having weekly check-ins and working with one of the trainers, Dom. These more focused feedback sessions have again elevated the service and results I'm seeing. Dom has helped dial in my nutrition, workouts, and lifestyle choices to better achieve my health and fitness goals. The weekly check-in keeps you honest and accountable, while also providing helpful tips and tricks to reach your goals. I'm confident that this extra attention to detail and feedback will continue to help me focus more attention on my goals as I reach the half-century mark.

My son Connor has been working out with Jake and Dom at Anchor fitness for the past two years. The sports performance classes have been the best fit for him. Small classes with instructors who truly care about the athletes. He looks forward to going every afternoon! His strength and fitness level have made huge strides and he is seeing all the off season hard work pay off on the baseball field this spring. Not only are they getting a good workout but the instructors are teaching them the about their muscles and how the exercises will help them.

My 12 year old son has been going to Anchor during the off season from baseball. The coaches are amazing. They are teaching him the correct and safe way to lift weights. The classes are designed for pre teen and teens. The classes are small so he is being monitored while doing the weight training. His strength has increased a lot in the last 6 months. We highly recommend Anchor for your athletes weight training!

I’ve been a member at Anchor for the last eight months. I joined in order to get back into exercising. It’s been a great experience since Day 1. The coaches are supportive, encouraging and knowledgeable. The smaller classes and personalized programs allow for one on one instruction and guidance. The strength training has helped me to get stronger, improve my mobility and be more active. I am not a ‘morning person’ and the fact that I get up to make early morning classes must mean they are doing something right!

I have been a member at Anchor for the past 5 years. I absolutely love this place and am so glad that I joined in my freshman year of high school. The staff and other members are like family. It is such a supportive environment where everyone encourages you to step outside of your comfort zone. I was worried about being the youngest athlete in the sessions but soon found that there were other teen athletes just like me. I have gotten a lot stronger as well as learned how to care of my body through nutrition and stretching. The coaches take the time to teach you the movements and really listen to you to ensure proper recovery. It’s the best place ever and I always look forward to coming back when I’m on break!!

Why Anchor Life and fitness?

You an ex-athlete gone to seed seeking to reclaim the glory years?

Looking to shed a few, tighten up, get fit, feel/look better?
Already in shape and looking to stay that way?

Worried about the overzealous loud mouth overbearing trainers you may have had in the past? Don’t be. Loud is not the Anchor way

Dominick (both of them), Leigh Anne, Charlene, Jake, Cali…. And the rest of the crew know what they’re doing;
They'll put you through your paces and show you that a hard workout can still be fun

Top Shelf all the way. The coaches are excellent, the facilities are comfortable. I really enjoy the variety of work outs.
This type of work out has greatly helped my daily life & health - as someone who suffers from RA - Rheumatoid Arthritis, I have been on monthly medicine for over 10 years, I have been going to Anchor for 7 months and I feel great, I am considering tapering off of my medicine due to how good I feel. No RA flareups, my strength is returning from my youth and I feel great mentally. I contribute this program, the people and the nutrition conversations with Charlene to my improved health. Thanks!

I signed up for a several different sessions at Anchor in order to truly understand what they offered. After experiencing small group, large group, yoga, and a little gem called “simple and sinister,” I can honestly say that there is absolutely no way to go wrong with a session (or multiple) at this facility.

The staff is top notch. I would consider myself athletic, yet they provided me with ways to fine tune my technique and understand how small changes can have a big impact on my ability to strengthen my body. Whether a client was new (like me) or well seasoned (like so many others), every instructor was patient, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic. They are ready to help you where you are in your fitness journey in order to reach goals that are right for you, and I love that type of personalization.

I look forward to returning to continue learning and making progress. I hope you’ll give yourself the chance to do the same!

I joined Anchor Life+Fitness 10 months ago. The staff is exceptional and professional. They have greatly helped me set fitness goals with each workout program. Before Anchor, I did not strength train. Anchor staff helped me learn the importance of strength training and nutrition for my health and wellness. As a juvenile diabetic and someone who shattered her ankle several years ago, I am grateful to the trainers for working with me closely and tailoring my program to my fitness needs. I now attend group classes 4 times a week. The group environment is great, and the trainers offer helpful guidance and assistance during each session. The coaches are extremely knowledgeable and approachable with any questions, and they make sure you know what to do and how to do what you are doing correctly and safely. As a fairly active person and marathoner, licensed yoga teacher and avid tennis player, I was not a stranger to the gym, so I was skeptical that I needed to spend a lot of money to keep and stay active. I had private trainers before and knew my way around the gym, but after my trial at Anchor, I set aside my skepticism and immediately signed up. The Anchor program is worth every penny! How do I know? Because I see a direct transfer of power from the gym to the tennis court. Specifically, after a month of very targeted strength training, I not only easily won my first 2 singles matches of the season, but I did so with functional strength from my core muscles, which had previously not been activated or trained! My groundstrokes were so strong that even my opponents noticed and asked what I had done differently in my tennis game. Sure, I had been working on my technique, but it was the specific strength training at Anchor that sealed the deal - I knew it because I felt my newfound power on the court. I highly recommend Anchor if you're at all interested in getting stronger in your everyday life!

Anchor Life & Fitness is the best gym around. The trainers are very knowledgeable, motivating and caring. They cared so much about each member that they were one of the first gyms to close in the area due to the pandemic. They were more concerned about our health than keeping the doors open. Since they’ve been closed, they have offered numerous ways to keep us moving from zoom classes, to providing written workouts so we could workout on our own time, to cooking classes, to fun workout challenges and even zoom happy hours to keep everyone connected. I trust that they will reopen only when allowed, and when it is safe.

Anchor is a fantastic place to reach your fitness goals. It has just the right size classes to provide you with individual attention and motivation. The trainers know you and your goals and ensure that the workouts fit your needs. I am really pleased that I joined. They have also done so much work to ensure that they offered as much virtual support during quarantine as is possible. They went above and beyond with online classes and virtual challenges to keep everyone motivated. They complied with all guidelines and closed the very day the orders were sent to do so and from that moment started their online support.

Excellent facility and staff. Ignore reviews suggesting that the Anchor team responded slowly to COVID. Those claims are absolutely false. The Anchor team has gone to great lengths to keep their members engaged and healthy during this unprecedented time.

What a wonderful fitness center and yoga studio. From the moment you walk in the door, the educated staff takes you under their wing and works with you to personalize your own fitness needs and goals.

During this time of uncertainty , the instructors have gone above and beyond to reach out to their members and keep the virtual fit and yoga classes running seamlessly. Emails are sent out regularly, checking in on their clients health and well being, assisting in any way to keep clients on track. I highly recommend Anchor Life and Fitness . You will become part of a large, caring and strong extended family!

I have never felt so comfortable and welcomed at a gym as I have at Anchor! I feared losing my routine with the shutdown but they have gone above and beyond to engage clients with zoom fitness and yoga workouts at various times throughout the day, technique videos, facebook posts and facebook live, webinars, website enhancements and socially connections to clients through zoom, facebook, website and super quick responses to messages.

I’ve been a member at Anchor fitness for two and a half years. The yoga classes have transformed my body making me much stronger and more nimble. Not bad for a guy who will be 70 years old this winter.

Anchor closed down immediately when the state and county recommended and built online classes quickly so that we could keep our exercises and comradeship going.
I am still a member and one day it will be ok for them to open again.

This is not a "gym"...it's the best workout facility ever! Everyone truly cares about the overall health and well-being of you as an individual and tailors whole body and lifestyle conditioning to your needs. There's no one size fits all program. Charlene and Renee have really made something special for their business and have top notch, personable trainers to make you feel like you are their #1 priority! Additionally, the community outreach and special programming they do is simply second to none :)

Anchor is absolutely the best gym! It's more than a gym - it is the definition of community. I consider my Anchor peeps part of my family. During the shutdown, they keep us busy with live classes, recorded classes, virtual happy hours, virtual jeopardy, etc. Not many gyms do that! Also, the person who posted a review that Anchor stayed open during quarantine is totally mistaken. Our gym was one of the first to close and it can be proven! Don't know where dude got his info, but it is not factual! Safety is priority at this gym!

The staff at ANCHOR Life & Fitness are wonderful. I cannot say enough positive things about the welcoming environment, especially for someone like me who has always been a bit intimidated by gyms. I have also been impressed with how they have adapted during closure during COVID times -- providing online exercise classes, yoga, nutrition seminars, etc. I hope once the gym reopens to in person classes, they consider continuing with online classes too.

Truly one of the best fitness communities that I've ever been a part of...great coaches, great facility, great members! Can't wait for them to reopen....but I know they will only do it when it's safe. They truly care about helping us reach our goals and be the healthiest we can be!

This was the most amazing gym pre-quarantine but now it belongs in a category all by itself! As soon as shut down orders were being talked about, Charlene and her team of super heros had a virtual plan up and running. We were able to work out from home seamlessly. Fit and Yoga classes as well as nidra, restorative, and movement and mobility...CHOICES of classes and times. They have also added cooking and nutrition segments, and individual breakdown of movements that can be challenging for different members. More importantly, they have all found ways to connect with us individually and as a group. This gym and group of people have gone far beyond in relaying what it means to have us all as members. Couldn't ask to be a part of a better group of people and am so grateful to have this as such a POSITIVE EXPERIENCE during such a trying time in our city, country, and world!

Started yoga with Dominic about a year ago. What a great experience. Looking forward to continuing with yoga classes. I have started using the fitness side of Anchor also. What a great facility. I'm building my muscle mass back. Feeling stronger. Thanks to The Anchor Staff. U

Update. During our current shutdown over the Virus. Anchor has been in constant communication. Providing online workouts and demonstrations about fitness moves and cooking. Also providing valuable info to keep us sane during this crisis. A huge Thank You to the entire staff at Anchor.

Anchor Life and fitness is a wonderful gym with wonderful instructors. They were on of the first gyms to close - it not the first gym! They started online sessions for their clients and have been reachable to all of their clients during this time. They truly are a great place 💪

Amazing community with amazing coaches! In spite of having to shut down due to the stay at home orders Charlene and the entire staff have made it their top priority to keep us engaged through virtual classes. They have also kept us engaged through weekly challenges! They have done an amazing job during the quarantine and I can’t thank them enough!
