TAMMY H THE MANAGER NEEDS TO BE FIRED!!..

I I joined this gym only a couple of months ago. I decided to go to this one because it was closer to my house and in case something should happen my husband can get to me if need be I needed to strengthen my legs since I had a few surgeries and physical therapy wasn't giving me what I needed.
I filled out all this information online and didn't bother reading all of the fine print which I should have because I would have never joined this gym.
I did have another surgery in July and that kept me from joining the gym now completely and I called to cancel my membership only to find out that I had a better chance of meeting God then canceling this out.
Tammy the manager, if you want to call her that, told me that the only way for me to get out of this mess is to get a doctor's note and send it to her which I did. A week goes by and I call again because I was charged again. So this time I did get in touch with her and when she got on the phone with me she was nasty as she could be. I guess I interrupted her meeting when I called.
She told me that I also need to write a cover letter along with my doctor's notes and she has the right to charge me up to 30 days if she feels like it. She repeated it a couple of times because I ignored her when she said it to me the first three times. So I called her out and asked her "why she felt it was important to repeat herself in that manner to me 3xs"
She acted like she was doing me a favor why not charging me. I asked her to show me the fine print in the contract where it states it because I filled this out online and I did not see it anywhere.
As a matter of fact I am going to call my bank and I am going to dispute discharge and any charge for the month of August.
It is absolutely incredibly BS that they charged me for the entire month of August when I have been trying to cancel for the entire month but nobody would listen to me.
I see that there are other people that have complained about this company as well, make sure when you sign up for your membership that you do not get a automatic recharge because they do that without telling you.
They also charge you biweekly so if you have an extra week in the month they're going to charge you for that.
I do not mind paying once a month for a gym membership but three times in one month is unheard of.
Who the hell does that it is absolutely ridiculous so I will never go here again and if you were smart you wouldn't go here either

my twin sister was diagnosed with a disease that left her handicap. She had joined this gym only a few months ago so she can get strong and continue on living a normal life. Unfortunately she needed more surgeries and couldn't continue with this gym membership. She supplied them with the written doctors note that they required and still tried to charge her $30 every bi-weekly and told her that they can charge her up to 30 days if they choose too..
When my sister brought it to their attention of this being unheard of they told her to read the "fine print" on her contract. I will never be a part of this gym after the way that Tammy H had treated my sister. By repeatedly tell her that she is lucky that they don't charge her for the 30 days when my sister is barely making ends meet after her diagnosis..
I would not join this gym. Go to Planet Fitness where you can only be charged monthly not biweekly. This place is a joke!!!.. HORRIBLE GYM!

Extremely frustrating experience. I’ve been trying to cancel my membership, and it’s been nothing short of impossible. Manager Tammy Holena has been completely unhelpful—she avoids answering direct questions and talks in circles. The listed phone number doesn’t work, so I’m forced to rely on email, which only adds to the delay and lack of accountability. I’ve proposed reasonable alternatives to resolve this, but she flat-out ignores them and insists I must come in during their limited “business hours.” No one is available before 10 a.m., which makes it nearly impossible for working individuals like me to handle this in person. I need help—this process should not be this difficult.

As long as I can remember I have never left a 1 star review, but here I am. Like many other people in these reviews I am having a major billing issue and can’t get in contact with anyone to fix it. I went to anytime fitness multiple times starting in November 2023. When I first signed up I was handed a fob to give me access to enter the gym at anytime. Hence the name. When I signed the “contract” in 2023 I was never informed nor was I given a copy of the agreement that stated that the payment was automatically renewed. And I technically didn’t sign a contract, I had to sign a tablet with nothing on the screen other than the box to sign within. I had spoken to the manager at the time and even asked what plans they had. I picked 1 year and was reassured that it was for 12 months. I was never informed that the payment would renew automatically in 2024 and in January of 2025 I would be getting threatened by the billing company about the money going to collections. Supposedly I owe them 152 dollars because I haven’t paid since the year was up. Considering the company and management never informed me that the membership was renewed automatically nor was ever handed a copy of the contract I think they owe me some stuff here due to statement 12 under the abc fitness company billing cancellation policy. I do my homework especially when I’m unlawfully charged for a membership that I don’t use and haven’t continued since November.

Totally unacceptable customer service. I’ve called the manager everyday since September requesting to pause my account. Finally got manager and he informed me that they no longer like to pause membership. Fine. I requested the cancellation form be emailed and spelled out email three times. Called back and asked where it was. Repeated messages days without receipt. I called my cc company and disputed the charge and asked it be refunded and blocked from further charges. The manager tells cc company I never canceled. Of course I never canceled. You never return my phone messages or email. Unacceptable!!!

Good luck when your plan ends. Been charged atleast 6-7 times since my plan has ended & still nothing has been done about it. And not the easiest to get a hold of someone.

I hope you have a great outcome when your contract comes to an end, as they'll keep billing you. I'm currently facing a payment problem at the Dallas branch, and Tom isn't returning my calls or responding to them.

I had a conversation with Tom on August 18th regarding this matter. Following the billing problem, Tom assured me that the issue had been fixed, but I was billed again on August 18th. When I reached out to Tom, he was behaving as if he was 10 years old and didn't appreciate being referred to as Buddy, especially since he was on his personal phone and responded in a dismissive manner. He mentioned that he could be like that. The manager, Tom, was found to have been charging me after my contract had ended three months earlier. I had to get in touch with Wyoming to sort this out. Tom's behavior is highly unprofessional for a gym manager, and the manager of the Tunkanock location Steve, who is supposed to handle issues with other gyms, doesn't want to deal with problems like these.

Join at your own risk. If anything goes wrong, at their fault, they will not in any way acknowledge responsibility or refund your money. Not the site, leadership, ownership or corporate. I was verbally harassed and demeaned by the last manager, did not feel safe going back and was refused a refund on my membership.

We cancelled a membership on August 2nd and are STILL getting charged. I have contacted Tom in person and on the phone, he just says he will have it fixed in a day or so. He uses his personal cell phone and tells us that we can't record the line because it isn't the business phone. He gives us the run around every time we contact him. It's getting ridiculous. After being charged over 10 times, we actually had to block them from our payment method. I pity anyone who signs on with that gym and no longer wants to be there. You might as well go for the money they charge you regardless. Cory from Tunkhannock is so helpful but Tom, he should probably reconsider his employment.

I’ve been going to Anytime fitness in Dallas for a couple years now. The gym only gets better over time. It has a good gym vibe and it’s a comfortable place to work out in. It’s well-maintained and very clean. Tom Hall, the gym’s manager, is no doubt a major catalyst for a lot of the good things happening at the gym.

This gym exceeds my expectations, the bathrooms are well kept and are very clean. Tom, the manager, knows everyones name and very supportive of your fitness journey. Currently, they are adding to the gym, which proves that they are trying to make this gym a better place for everyone.

I've been coming to Anytime for a few years now and it's definitely a place I feel comfortable walking in to without the intimidation I've felt at others gyms. I just recently started strength training with Tom, the manager, and I'm so grateful for his expertise and down to earth personality. He takes a vested interest in each and every member and I swear he knows all their names! I believe he genuinely cares about my health and well-being and helping me to reach my fitness goals.

Tunkhannock location is a little better. More of a variety. BUT Dallas is way less busy....when we have gone. Which is a plus! Clean. Nice people.

I've been a member for almost a year, but I would not join again. They stopped charging membership fees during quarantine (because they had to in the state of PA to avoid fines) but never informed members when the gym re-opened and just started charging membership fees again. When I called to ask if I could freeze, not cancel, my membership until I felt it was safe to return to the gym, I was told I would either need to get a doctor's note or pay the $200 cancellation fee. I asked for a copy of my contract, which they still have yet to provide, and when I stopped into the gym this week to cancel, no staff were wearing masks. I was told my cancellation fee would be taken out of my account the next day, but instead, I got an automated text from a financial services company that there's an issue with my account (there isn't). The cancellation fee still hasn't been charged and no one answers the phone or returns my calls. This experience has soured me on the entire business and I'll sooner spend the money on home gym equipment than join this gym again.

Fantastic gym! Kept emaculatly clean. It is well stocked with a very wide variety of equipment and weights. I'm usually a crossfitter and was able to find lots of different equipment there I could satisfy my workouts. I was visiting from out of town and just signed up for a one month membership and was very well accommodated. I highly recommend this gym!

I just recently joined this gym and I'm very impressed with the staff and the facility . Tim has sent up a workout program just to meet my needs. I love anytime fitness. Everyone is always super friendly and courteous. The fact that it's 24 hours a day is really a huge bonus. The only thing that I would be happy to see as an addition is a heavy bag for boxing but otherwise there is enough equipment to utilize all your needs. The bathrooms are super clean which is always nice to see. Glad I found this gem.

Over the years I have been to many gyms from locally owned to franchise chains. Anytime Fitness is by far the very best gym I have been to. The atmosphere is very inviting, the staff is very personable and willing to aid you in any way. The clientele is among the most pleasant I have been around. Large, open, and very clean facility. The staff is personable and friendly. I love the back room that has room for doing abs, squats and lunges without running into equipment or others. The TRX system allows you to try new exercise and target more areas. The gym is always clean and has new machines and equipment.

I've been in the gym scene for over a decade now and have never seen such a clean gym. Matt the gym manager has a great positive attitude along with a plethora of knowledge about physical fitness. Tim the trainer knows just about anything you throw at him and was in the medical field for over 20 years, he really knows his stuff. To top it off Steve the owner of the franchise is very friendly and always shows his appreciation towards his customers! I've made some serious gains at this gym and have met some great people! This franchise is a class act! Five stars plus!!!! Thank you to everyone at Anytime!
