JUST SHOW UP. I can’t say more positive things about Arsenal Strength. From the first meeting with Brooks, my sister and I felt like part of the team. The coaches are incredibly knowledgeable, ensuring everyone, from beginners to advanced athletes, uses proper form and gets the most out of every workout. They are experts in scaling movements and genuinely care about your individual progress.

The workouts are challenging, provide variety, and they actually work. I’ve seen significant improvements in my fitness, strength, physical appearance, and overall health since joining. Arsenal Strength is a welcoming environment where the people you train with encourage you to push yourself. If you’re looking for a gym that’s is effective, fun, and supportive, JUST SHOW UP!

I came to Pittsburgh looking for a great gym community, great coaching, and a place to get some solid workouts that fit with my schedule. Arsenal Strength checked all those boxes and then some. Brooks and the coaching staff were incredibly welcoming from day one and made it a point to get me integrated. I loved the gym and can’t recommend it enough to people looking challenge themselves!

I joined this gym for a few months before moving, and would have stayed on longer if I were in the area. From day one, I felt welcomed and included by all of the coaches and other gym members. The community at Arsenal Strength is supportive and provides incredible coaching and encouragement. After just a few months, I felt more confident in myself in and outside of the gym.

I’ve had a wonderful experience as a new client at Arsenal Strength and would highly recommended this business to anyone who is interested in getting into the gym but feels scared to start. I had a consultation with the owner, Brooks, that left me with an overall positive impression that this would be a friendly, inclusive place - and my experience has not disappointed.

I started with 4 personal training sessions to prepare me for the classes, and my trainer, Lizzie, was motivating, engaging, kind, and well-informed. I was nervous about going from 0 to 100, but Lizzie modified my routine to my abilities and body’s needs during our trainings. I joined my first class this morning and truly surprised myself by my ability to keep up, thanks to everything I practiced with Lizzie.

I find the space & people very welcoming, and the classes fun and engaging. I have always been someone who dreaded going to the gym, but Arsenal Strength has genuinely turned that around for me.

A final bonus that I’ll mention is that Brooks and Lizzie actually *asked* me what my goals were instead of assuming, and this business has been extremely respectful of me not being interested in intentional weight loss. It can be hard to find spaces that are able to separate your fitness from your weight, so I wanted to emphasize that for anyone who is either not interested in intentional weight loss, or requires non-weight loss related fitness programming for mental health reasons. I’ve been able to simply use improvements to my strength, stamina, and technique as markers of success and it feels great.

Overall, I’m confident that no matter what your needs or abilities are, Arsenal Strength will be an inclusive place for you to make it work. Give it a try!

If you’re like me and have always disliked regular gyms, this place is for you. It’s the perfect blend of CrossFit and something like Orange Theory, offering dynamic and engaging classes with knowledgeable coaches. The vibe is super welcoming, the programming is well thought out, and the gym is consistently clean and organized! I just started about a month ago but can tell will stick around long term.

I was looking for a gym after my back surgery to reinforce my muscle after years of pain. I have had terrible experience in the past, or I would never follow through and give up after 6 or 8 months. And then, I found Arsenal strength. At first I was scared and uncomfortable, as I never did CrossFit. But everyone here has been so supportive. It doesn’t matter your level or how little you know about it. The coaches are always here for you, showing you the right moves. I feel I am having a personal coach even if we are 15 in the class. They always adjust the workout for my needs as there is so many things I can’t do anymore. I love how inclusive this gym is and I always feel the love and support from staff and other members.
At first it was hard, but after the first 1 months of soreness, it gets better! Don’t give up and go at your own speed!
So grateful to have find this gym. Final plus: easy access and easy free parking!

My experience is a bit unique. I met with Brooks to talk over some very specific goals I have and he told me that they are not the best place to assist me with my goals and referred me to someone else. If my fitness goals change and I want to do something more in line with what type of training they specialize in, I will not hesitate to go back because that kind of honesty and frankness is not always commonplace in the business world. He could've promised me the world and taken my money but he and his gym clearly prioritize honesty and customer satisfaction which I think is great.

When I first started I learned that the workouts are in groups, which was my first time. The group setting was intimidating at first since I've only worked out by myself or with a friend before. I quickly learned that everyone is receptive towards one another, and that the trainers there will help you with your techniques during class to make sure you are not going to injure yourself and work with everyone at their level. The people here are supportive and I look forward to seeing the results. Prepare to be out of breath, and sweaty by the end of each and every class.

I have only been going to this gym for two weeks now, but I know I will be sticking with things long term. Everyone is so friendly here. The coaches really take the time to explain the movements to you, they are friendly, and keep you motivated. The other members are just as friendly. Smiles all around, laughing, joking, and giving congrats at the end of each workout. No matter what your skill level is, you will feel at home here. The coaches call it a community gym, and completely agree. Thanks Arsenal for helping me get back on track :)

I have a really twisted history with diet and fitness so it was really important for me to find a trainer that understands how critical it is for me to stay mentally well while working on my physical health. Shannon at Arsenal is amazing. She is motivating but not in a fake, condescending way, she is genuine and knows her stuff. The focus has not been on losing weight (I haven’t even gotten on a scale) it’s been about showing myself what my body can do. I’ve actually been pleasantly surprised at the results too! I’m early on in my journey but after 2 years off of no gym, Shannon is getting me back to it! Everyone else that I’ve met so far is incredibly nice and welcoming! Also, Shannons dog, Huey, is at the gym most days and he is the sweetest work out partner you could ask for!

I am coming up on my fourth week at this fantastic establishment and I can confidently say this is the BEST fitness experience I have ever had! The coaches are very informative, super helpful, and motivating too. Crossfit is a beast of a sport and you will get very, verrry sweaty BUT they make it so easy to do the modified movements and exercises which is a necessity for me personally. They even have challenges which is so much fun (just started one)! It's just very thorough all around the board and I am stoked to be a part of it 💪

I just started here. If you want to move on to the CrossFit (which they call Metcon) classes, you first have to have four sessions one-on-one with a trainer. I really enjoyed the personal training. My trainer helped me with techniques and showed me the proper ways to do things so I don’t get hurt. But she also introduced me to an alphabet soup of whoop a$$ each session, and it was awesome to push myself like that. I’m really looking forward to some more hard workouts in metcon and boot camp. (You don’t have to do the one on one if you just want to enroll in boot camp). Above all, I totally recommend this gym. Great people, easy parking, nice atmosphere, and the communication is amazing. Another shower would be nice though. But the one they have is nice and always clean.

I have a background in weightlifting fairly seriously and going to private gyms my whole life. I just recently started going here and I have to say it is an awesome experience. The scheduling system + tracking system is really nice since it helps you keep track of your goals and makes the process a lot more than just showing up and doing a workout. Overall super happy 10/10 would recommend!

I can’t believe I found a gym where I actually enjoy working out. The workouts are challenging but have helped me push myself far beyond what I ever thought I was capable of. The coaching staff is very knowledgeable and encouraging toward everyone. They spend a lot of time breaking down the movements in each workout to ensure that everyone can safely do their best and avoid injury all the while having fun.

Unlike any other gym I have tried, Arsenal offers a nutrition program. Rather than promoting “lose weight fast” or special shakes, the Arsenal nutrition program helps you change your habits toward food in ways that are sustainable for the rest of your life. I would recommend this gym to anyone.

I’ve been a member of Arsenal Strength for almost 3 years and I continue to learn and grow each day. The coaching is top notch, the extra classes and support are unparalleled and the community is like family. I recently completed a nutrition challenge and have totally reset my relationship with food in just six weeks. I’ve been given the tools to not just succeed while actively participating in the program but turning subtle changes into a lifestyle. I’ve never felt positive in my eating habits and I finally feel like I have control. Just another reason to love this place!

I just recently became involved with Arsenal Fitness while participating in their Fit for Fall Challenge and it’s really been a great experience. Looking forward to much long term success with the foundation that was formed during this challenge.

I’ve been a member at Arsenal for nearly 3 years and I absolutely love the challenge of the workouts, the close-knit community, and genuine welcoming nature of all coaches and members. In the last six months I’ve completed specialty programs in gymnastics and nutrition which both greatly improved my physical ability as well as overall wellness. Three years ago I was nervous that I was in over my head with CrossFit but from the first class the coaches and members reassured me that there is a level for anyone and everyone for every workout. I’m so glad I jumped in and never looked back!

I’ve been attending CrossFit classes for two years at Arsenal. I have found the coaches to be great athletes and teachers. The facility has all the equipment needed for a great workout. The staff are encouraging and positive. I learned a lot and am glad I took the challenge.

I have been a member at Arsenal Strength for 4 years, and before joining I never would have imagined that my gym would become a home to me. I was terrified of the idea of joining Crossfit, but knew that if I couldn’t commit to joining the closest gym to me that I would never make serious changes.

I just finished the Fit for Fall Nutrition Challenge and after participating in almost every challenge over the years (Whole Foods, Paleo, Carb Cycling, Macro Counting) I can say that this has been the best one yet!

I have been a yo-yo dieter my entire life, and while I have no problem walking into the gym for class 4-5 times a week, I still struggle with properly fueling myself outside of the gym. I have historically had the all-or-nothing mindset when it comes to nutrition, but this challenge was a great start to break down that mentality of falling off of a fictitious ‘wagon’.

The InBody Scanner makes all the difference in my eyes! The scanner does a full body composition analysis which shows progress beyond what the scale says. I can’t wait to continue to track my progress and make memories with the amazing group that I now call my family.

Cheers to another 4 years!

I came across an ad for a "New You" program in 2016. I was being destroyed by anxiety, self doubt, grief, and depression. I gained a love for myself that I didn't know I had. I found my strong. My physical, emotional, and mental strong when I walked in those doors.

I've been a member at Arsenal for 3 1/2 years, my second longest relationship ever. I started at Arsenal shortly after completing a half marathon in 2016 and proclaiming I'd never run again. When I moved, I actually based where I wanted to live on how quickly I could get to the gym, and I am by no means a 'gym rat'. It was just the first place I felt like a part of something bigger, something meaningful, I was definitely right. I can't say enough good things about the arsenal community, it continues to grow and evolve and is constantly improving. If you are looking for something that you're going to stick with, look no further. You'll have all the support and guidance you could ask for.

Arsenal Strength is one of those places that literally becomes like a second home. Not just because of the workouts but mainly the people that make it so great. I have never felt more welcomed and supported. I have tried every type of gym membership and although I received a good workout it never made me want to come back. Arsenal and the people that make it so special make me never want to take a day off. On top of the great workouts, competition, and camaraderie it also offers nutrition coaching. I just completed a six-week nutrition challenge at Arsenal and saw results I thought I could not achieve. The best part of the challenge was learning how to have a healthy relationship with food that I can sustain. I recommend everyone try this place out and you will not be disappointed!

I am just finishing up a Fit Challenge at Arsenal Strength. While this isn’t my “home” CF gym I thought it would be a great experience to learn a few things from someone else in regards to nutrition. Wow was I and am I impressed!!!! The level of engagement I received through these 6 weeks is indescribable! While I have always “dieted” and eat pretty healthy, working with the Arsenal team really made me more aware and kick a few of my “bad” habits to the curb.

I would highly recommend checking out Arsenal if you are looking for nutrition coaching - coaching that is personalized and realistic! You won’t be disappointed!!!

Brooks and his team at Arsenal went out of their way to make me feel like I was a part of the family. I was always very intimidated by CrossFit previously and never thought I could “do it.” I signed up for the “New You” 6-week challenge in the summer of 2016 and was very nervous but excited. Much to my surprise, I had nothing to be nervous about. There is a great emphasis on proper training techniques while at the same time motivating you to work harder. I attended a free class after a recommendation from a friend last month and really loved the atmosphere, the people, and the workout. I signed up for their summer shred program and showed up the first day to find that the classes were cancelled and no one sent a cancellation email. I was told that there were only two spots left by the owner for the class so I would have never expected it to be cancelled. As it turns out, I was the only one who signed up according to another person at the gym. I couldn't move the class to the other time slots/days so I had to ask for a refund and was offered no other solutions except to pay another $125 on top of the $299 I already paid to do an onramp and regular membership or wait until September to start. I didn't appreciate the lack of respect for myself, or my time, and intend on signing up at a different location. They got two stars because the first experience was so great.
