Life changing in the best possible way. John and Jeremy have an amazing ability to watch how you move and ensure you get stronger safely. Does something hurt? Tell them and they will help you work through it. And the members of the gym are such a great community. If you’ve ever felt stuck, or like you needed help figuring out how to get out of pain, get stronger, accomplish a goal, or stay young as you age, check this place out.

If you're over 40 and looking for semi-private to private personal training, you will not find a gym more amazing than this. I feel incredibly lucky to have a place this special so close to me. John and JP will change your life. Try a class and you'll see what I mean.

John, what you were able to do for my Souderton Varsity Lax team this winter was immeasurable. I use this word because, as it turns out, we cannot measure the value of being stronger AND more flexible on the field right now. But is everything lost? No. We may not be measured on the field right now, but its not like we went without competition within ourselves. The mental training and discipline you provided these last 6 months made all the difference in them, and was more than I asked or expected. But that's you John. THAT, is what people and players need, the want and the why, to be reinforced and proven. It is what we all crave in most cases...but its so hard to find in life. My guys eventually came to believe in your ways and became better for it. Together as new coaches, we have proven that change, while resisted at first, can ultimately be the best thing that ever happened to them, and us. I can't wait until we can do it again.

I am legally blind and working out and playing sports has always been a challenge to me.
At this point, I have known John for almost 18 years and his personality is one that not only helps you, but he makes you WANT to succeed.
Even before he was doing kettlebells his attitude was always a winning one and he helped me achieve better results than I could have on my own. He is eager to teach and to learn. He is willing to work with anyone if they’re willing to put in the effort.
Once he got into kettlebells and his current lifestyle and was able to continue helping me, I noticed a difference both physically and mentally/emotionally.
He uses a very hands-on approach with me because I require a constant showing of moves and techniques due to my lack of vision. He is nothing but patient and is willing to show me a move 5-6 times (which has happened on more than one occasion) with no bitterness. He only wants you to succeed and is willing to do what it takes as long as you put in the work. I play sports and thanks to him I am moving better, my stamina is up, and I feel better overall.
When John starts to work with you he looks at what you’ve been doing currently and doesn’t just throw it away and say, “ok that sucked ... obviously, kettlebells are better for you and here’s why ...” He examines things and then comments on the positives with what you’ve been doing, pointing out how it probably helped you. He then follows by explaining the benefits of working with him and how it can help with those same goals and then some. He then does a test to see where you’re at and designs a plan for you that works with your lifestyle to achieve all your goals.
Working with John, he pushes you to the point where you want to keep going but not to the point of exhaustion. And if something doesn’t feel right he takes the time to figure out what’s not working and why and then helps you come up with an alternative.
And although it started with kettlebells; John has progressed his craft into so much more. The two biggest things he taught me were that "everyone is unique and there is something to help everyone, it's just not the same thing for everyone" and "i CAN help you, but not until you WANT to help yourself." If you truly have a desire to change, but you're just not sure what the next step is, Bair Knuckle strength is PERFECT for you!!!
He treats it like a partnership. If you put in the work, John will make sure you succeed.

I joined BKS more than a year ago. At the time, I was frustrated by post-menopausal changes in my body and by muscle aches. I didn’t like what I was seeing in the mirror and how I was feeling.
Thanks to the personalized training and coaching I’ve received from John and Sarah, BKS has changed my life for the better. Some examples: I used to rely on massage as a means of relieving my muscle aches, but I haven’t needed a massage since I started working out at BKS. I did go for a massage last week – a Valentine’s Day treat – and my masseuse immediately commented on my improved muscle tone. I do ballroom dancing, and my instructor said my legs are much stronger than they were, enabling me to perform more advanced dance moves with ease. I no longer struggle to carry those cases of bottled water from Costco. Finally, I like what I see in the mirror – and so does my husband. Thanks, John and Sarah!

I started training with John at Bair Knuckle Strength in order to prepare for my sfg kettlebell cert. I came in for a free trial and was blown away by the amount of detailed, practical instruction John gave me to improve my swing. I've been training for a couple months now and I'm really happy with the improvements I've seen. John has been able to spot what I need to work on and help me focus on improving these areas while also increasing my general strength and technical proficiency with all of the required lifts for the sfg. There is also the added benefit of learning how to teach and cue the exercises. I am a personal trainer myself, and each session with John is not only a workout but also a clinic in how to effectively communicate the mechanics of the techniques we're practicing, as well as how to structure each session so it ties into my long term goals. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend training here regardless of your goals or current fitness level. You will feel welcome from the very first session, and you will not only see the results you want but develop an in depth understanding of how and why you're seeing them.

Before I came to BKS, I had been struggling with a long and painful recovery from a back injury. I lifetime athlete and runner, I had been injured before but the pain from a herniated and bulging disc was like nothing I had ever experienced. And despite having 3 injections to mediate the pain, I was still not able to run or be as active as I wanted to be. In June 2017 I decided to give BKS a try. I wanted to go to a place where the trainers were knowledgeable and reliable - I needed a gym where the professionals could provide a workout that would be challenging and could be customized so that I would not jeopardize my recovery. I have been more than impressed by Sarah and John. They treat everyone with respect and bring their knowledge and enthusiasm to each class. Over the past year, they have helped me become as strong as I have ever been - they challenge us in class, but they listen if there are particular concerns on any day. While it might look intimidating to see a bunch of people swinging kettle bells and hanging from bars, BKS isn't some wacky gym where everyone is a beast. Everyone works at his or her own pace and Sarah and John break down each skill so that when you master it, you are safely using the best form.
On Labor Day weekend 2018, a little more than a year after I joined BKS, I ran a 7 mile race - pain free. Thanks to hard work, the instruction from the BKS trainers and the support of the BKS community, I was able to achieve my goal of returning to running. There are a lot of gyms out there - and I have been to lots of trainers in my life -- but there aren't many places like BKS where you will be challenged, supported and encouraged to get strong, work hard and celebrate your success. Give it a try!

A Dr. had brought me in to introduce me to Bair Knuckles. I could not get through a day without pain in my back and neck because iIt was interfering with my daily activities. After realizing doing "Nothing" was not improving my pain, I decided to give it a try. John evaluated my pain and movements and within 3 month of staying loyal to the routine and the personalized attention to my workout, I was amazingly getting better. Having the classes small enough to be viewed as to how I was working out was a big factor in not slipping incorrectly into my routine. I now am able to return into a pain free lifestyle. Don't be intimidated or scared that this is not for you....it is individualized & paced according to your needs and condition. The people and friends in the classes are all their for a reason...get better and strengthen the areas that are causing their pain! There is no reason to settle for chronic pain!

I have ben exercising regularly for 30+ years before meeting John. Something was missing and then I saw John training another client in our gym- it was his last day by the way. Movement was what was missing!
So, I immediately started training with John- 6 years ago- and at 72 I feel better then I ever have. John’s training has drastically improved my strength, balance and flexibility.
John really knows the BODY and has tailored my training to meet changing needs- shoulder injury/surgery, knee injury/surgery, etc., etc.
If you are serious about improving your health and physicality- join Bair Knuckle Strength. YOU won’t regret it.

Hello everyone! My name is Shirley Farmer. I’m 70 years young and have had RA since I was 12. For many years, thankfully, I’ve been pain-free but I still get stiff from no movement and activity.
This has long annoyed me. So I searched around for a strategy and community that would help me keep moving and I do mean KEEP MOVING!
Well, EUREKA! I’ve been with Bair Knuckle Strength for close to 5 years and would not even consider stopping or finding another program.
I’ve always known that muscle strength is key to great health. Bair Knuckle Strength Training has kept me limber, balanced and moving. One event of proof – 3 years ago I walked up over 80 steps of Fisherman’s Bastion in Budapest.
My body tells me when it wants to get moving and after each session I feel great. Stiffness and discomfort are no longer part of my life, to say nothing of the community we’ve created with John, Sara and Chris in the lead.
We cheer and support each other at Bair Knuckle Strength.
I’m not one who easily “buys into stuff.” There must be some positive an proof that what I do makes a difference. I’ve found that difference at Bair Knuckle Strength.
It takes commitment – show up and move! For me this is a life style change that TRULY PAYS OFF!
Now, come Join Us!

Dear John,
I have always been a very active, athletic person, whether playing children’s games in the backyard to organized team sports in junior/senior high school. When work and family intervened, skiing and tennis were my go-to sports.
Working full-time didn’t allow me to take care of myself, due to being on the road every week. Sitting in a car or on a plane created new hip and back issues. I finally was able to retire in 2012, and started with a variety of gyms (the $10/month version) to try to get back into shape. Cardio and weight machines would do the trick…I had done these before and they seemed to work. But, I lost interest and kept finding excuses for why I couldn’t get to the gym. It was boring, I wasn’t sure what I should change or add to a routine, and there was very little assistance from the staff. As a result, I experienced little success in losing weight or feeling I was improving my fitness.
In February 2014, I had a life-changing experience. I injured my back (L4/L5) and had a bulging disc. I could not move without extreme pain and was able to sleep in only one position. Luckily, my problem was resolved with 2 shots and physical therapy. But, after 12 months of treatment and PT, something still wasn’t right. There were lingering issues with my left leg…why did it seem to not have any strength? Why were there still a variety of pain issues? Would I be able to ski again? How do I get my strength back to enjoy everyday activities without reinjuring myself?
Well, divine providence brought me the answer in the spring of 2015: I met you!! Your program has enabled a mature, active, almost 60 year old, to get her mojo back. Through your patience, guidance and attention to every movement I make during class, I have been able to recover completely and have added tennis back into my life (summer 2017). I have come to you with small aches or muscle pains, and you have carefully observed my form and quickly, identified what I was doing wrong. The problem was immediate resolved.
I trust you and how you conduct your sessions 100%! You allow people of all ages and abilities to be in one class, working at the level appropriate to their ability. I have been inspired by others in our groups and hope I have been an inspiration to others as well. You have created a wonderful, supportive, inspiring and most of all, safe, environment for becoming healthy and strong. If I can say one thing to anyone considering working with you it is: You are wasting your time and money going to large classes where the instructor has to use a microphone to conduct class! You will get injured in these large classes because no one is paying attention to your form. Stop being stupid and cheap! You can pay the doctor and physical therapist or you can join Bair Knuckle Strength and have John and Sarah watch you, coach you, motivate you and improve your health and strength. You will be able to enjoy life more and all the things you want to experience, be it picking up and holding grandchildren, running races, skiing, playing tennis or golf, or just walking!
If you would like to provide my name/number to anyone who may be considering joining, you have my permission to do so. You are at the top of your field. The quality of the experience you provide and the results produced makes your classes inexpensive. I wish you the best of luck and will be there twice a week for the rest of my life. Thank You John….I cannot say it enough.
Your Fan for a Lifetime,

Swing with the BEST!
I met John Bair in January of 2014 and started training with him in February. He makes sure from the very start that you are educated about the benefits of using kettlebells and that you are medically, mentally, nutritionally as well as physically prepared to make the commitment to get the best results out of his workout program. Each session with him is tailored to fit your individual needs and physical capabilities. He has the expert knowledge to train you in the proper usage of kettlebells and he has an extreme passion for the benefits of using them. He uses them to put himself in exceptional shape and wants each one of his clients to achieve the same results from his training. John is very patient with his clients, he works with you step by step to help you succeed. He is enthusiastic, has a great positive attitude and personality, is encouraging and he takes great satisfaction in helping you succeed well beyond your own expectations. You will see your body change in positive ways, you will be stronger, you will feel and look better, your friends and family will notice the difference in your shape and attitude and you will most definitely, look forward to your next session with John.
