After only seven weeks at Compel Fitness working with one of their excellent trainers (Heidi), I have already lost five pounds and am down 2.7% body fat and lost 3.25 inches so far. As a 65-year-old woman, my balance is better and I’m sleeping better—not to mention they work with where I am, health-wise. I work one-on-one with my trainer and she has designed a fitness plan to meet me where I am. I’ve been going to a gym for over five years by myself, but in these last seven weeks working with Heidi, I’m stronger than before and have more of an understanding of why I’m doing what I’m doing. I am walked into Compel Hanover six weeks ago. I was an out of shape, tired, full time working, mom of 3 with some pretty ambitious fitness goals. In just six weeks time, I’ve attended three personal training sessions per week with Heidi and followed the diet plan pretty closely. Today I’m proudly down 9 inches and almost 14 lbs overall. I also feel strong, confident, and happy— a winning combination for both my body and mind. I have more energy with my kids and I have regained some pride in myself that I didn’t realize I’d lost. If you’re reading this and don’t know exactly where to start on your fitness journey or the thought of going to the gym feels daunting, trust me, Compel is worth it. You can’t quantify what you’ll gain from this experience. Also, I can’t recommend Heidi enough. She meets you where you are and thoughtfully tailors your workouts to your goals. I leave every session feeling damn good about what I’m accomplishing and the progress that I see and feel. I can only assume that the posters of the few bad reviews on here don’t read contracts or understand how cancellations work. All of the paperwork and payments have been fair and straightforward. Joining the Compel Fitness family has been one of my best decisions to date. At almost 60, I found that my strength and balance were not as they once were. The Compel staff is top notch!
If you’re on the fence about starting a program, then you NEED Compel! It’s not a program, it’s a family who wants you to see the BEST version of yourself! The hardest part is day 1! Your weeks fly by so fast that you don’t even realize you’re made major non-scale victories! The countless reviews don’t justify how amazing, committed and focused the staff is! (They want you to win) From a complete meal plan and a tried and true shopping list, all you have to do is show up!
For me: Allie has been a true GEM!! From our first session together, Allie made sure I was safe, help me unpack the self doubt and unleash my full potential! Her amazing personality makes pushing for one more rep a no brainer! It’s more than a coaching session, it’s being seen in the moment not about your faults or failures now..but Allie sees the future me and helps build a routine around the goals! I never thought about dreaming BIGGER…but yet again it’s a testament to this Compel staff!
So I hope to run into you at the studio one day soon and I hope you get to work with Allie! Lift often, even if you can’t today, you will be able to tomorrow!

I love it here! Heidi is my trainer and she’s helped me build so much confidence in and out of the gym. She keeps me accountable and she makes me WANT to show up. Other than Heidi the rest of the team is kind and helpful one of my favorite moments happened while I was doing a wall sit and Heidi had the other 2 trainers come out and distract/cheer me on and with over 100lbs on my lap helping me break my personal record! I have been a member of this gym for a little over a year now and I absolutely love it! I have never been big on going to gyms and being around crowds of people but this gym is more private/personal. I also have benefited greatly from having a trainer. I need someone to push me and keep me going/motivated. The trainers here are wonderful and very friendly. They always push people to do their best and succeed. They also push a little harder when they know you can do something that you might think you can't. They strive for positive affirmations and building relationships with their clients. My trainer Heidi is amazing! She even modified exercises for me when I had an injury. Training with Heidi is like therapy. I get to vent, sweat, and work out any stress with her there encouraging me on. I highly recommend this gym to anyone who is considering acquiring a personal trainer. It is so worth it! I had to push myself to take the first step in signing up for it and I have never regretted it!

My experience at Compel has been nothing but amazing! A little over a year ago I was feeling pretty bad about myself. Gaining weight, loosing strength and agility, balance. I was finding myself sitting things out rather than participate. I didn’t want to go to a crowded gym and Compel is a one on one workout, geared to your workout level. The trainers are so knowledgeable and explain fully what and how an exercise works. My trainer, Heidi Blake, always is totally focused on my workout and needs. I can hardly believe my transformation since coming here!

Alex is my trainer at Compel who I do the one on one training as well as the group training ( a shout out to Taylor , Corbin , Bryce and Leo ) for hosting such fun classes. I must say … I really enjoy the progress I’ve made so far with him … in only 10 months I’m down 20lbs and almost have my beach body I’ve ever wanted .He works in an Excellent pace as I’m an older gentleman and has great knowledge about Training and diet. Compel Fitness has been life changing for me! I am newer to the world of fitness and have tried a variety of apps, gym memberships, and “commitments” to exercise that I just could not sustain. When it came to going to the gym, I had no idea where to start, how to use the machines, and I was definitely not comfortable enough to just try it on my own. Thanks to Heidi, one of the amazing trainers at Compel, I finally found the motivation to give it one more try. After a 1 on 1 meeting, I knew this could be something different. Not only have I been consistent with going, I am now in week 8! I have an absolutely amazing trainer, Jen, who has been such a huge source of strength and positivity for me. I am so unbelievably grateful to her and to this program! For me the difference was not just about starting to exercise, it was about having a place to go where I feel connected, comfortable, motivated, and supported. I love working out at Compel Fitness. In the past three months of working with them, I have not only lost 15 pounds (and gained strength that I didn’t think was possible for myself), I also have had many no scale victories, including:
-my wedding ring fitting again!
-starting the day off with protein and plenty of nutrients feels great
-making time for just me and setting goals for myself
-self-discipline in the challenge extended to other areas like cleaning, etc
-self-reflection: a lot of times when I would be tempted to grab some chocolate or something, I would realize that I was feeling emotional in some way. I didn’t even know I was using eating for my emotions and now I can focus on how I’m feeling and figure out more impactful ways to deal with emotions
-feeling more like myself postpartum
- more energy to play with my three year old and my nieces
-making concrete steps to lower my cholesterol
-feeling all around more capable and comfortable with who I am
Cole, Kyle, and Heidi have been the biggest cheerleaders and are so wonderful to work with. Everyone is hilarious and challenges you without feeling like you’re working with a drill sergeant. The trainers are there to support you in your meal plans, your cardio, and of course your workouts themselves, but ultimately it is up to you what you get out of it and how much effort you put in. They will only push you so far, it’s a matter of how far you are willing to push yourself. For the best tools to push beyond what you thought were your limits, I would recommend Compel to anyone.

Compel Fitnes in Hanover has had positive impact on my general health and well being. Before joining, my physical activity was mediocre and my diet was fair, but I was steadily putting on the pounds. I needed help tying diet and exercise together to shed some pounds and get healthier. If you follow the plan the program can be successful. But, ultimately, you have to put in the work.
The trainers are helpful and I feel they genuinely care about the clients. I will continue with Compel Fitness and recommend the Hanover facility to anyone who wants to make a change for the better.

I worked with Compel trainers Jill Stone and Mitch Hoffmann for a little over a year. Wow. Not only are they crazy motivating, but they both did a stellar job of creating workouts for me that considered some knee and back issues I have had for quite some time. As a competitive wakesurfer, I began this season the strongest I’ve ever been and it is directly a result of working with Compel and their amazing certified trainers.

i haven't been in a gym in 20 years. When i walked in to meet Jill i sat down , waited a minute. When i looked up there was a very intimidating woman walking toward me. My brain was screaming "run away run away" then 2 seconds later she introduced herself and her amazing personality came through. She went over things and taught me a few things. She was very patient with my old overweight self when doing the excerises. Jill is friendly and motivating. Im looking forward to a long relationship on the path to a healthier life.
