I live out of town and came in twice as a guest with my dad while visiting. I’d recommend this spot for anyone. The staff was so helpful and professional, and this gym has GREAT amenities. One of the better gyms I’ve gone to across the country for sure!

The men’s locker room has a strong, unpleasant odor—almost like sour, stinky salami. If you’re planning to use the sauna, I wouldn’t recommend it. The door doesn’t fit properly and has large gaps, so every time someone opens it, the temperature drops to nearly room temperature.
On the positive side, the equipment is pretty solid with plenty of options. Overall, it’s not a bad gym, but there’s definitely room for improvement, especially in the locker room area.

I wanted to use an app provided through our work health plan to check it out (per the app, this gym was included in my plan), and the front desk couldn't be bothered with me. After a bit they said to just go ahead and workout. I was interested in classes too, which you need to register for, and they had no idea how to help. I sort of stood there hoping for an answer, then they rudely asked "do you need a tour or something?" The vibe was weird there too, and it was crowded. Bring back Fitness 19 to McIntyre Square please!!

Richard phenomenally represents the brand in a way where all members regardless of their background, types, and stories are welcomed, challenged, and encouraged which earns member trust. He makes Crunch Fitness No Judgments, No Limits rule a "living" philosophy.

He deserves the utmost recognition as a pillar of success to Fitness Ventures LLC and Meaningful Partners LLC investors.

You go, Richard!!!

He keeps begging for “feedback,” which is wild considering there are already dozens of real reviews calling him a scammer. But hey, maybe he just can’t read. Or maybe he thinks fake confidence is the same thing as proof. Spoiler: it’s not.

If you’re looking for: ✔ Fake promises
✔ Professional-level lying
✔ Zero accountability

This is your man. Claims he owns Crunch Fitness — can’t even own responsibility.

Make sure to bring a witness when you cancel your membership, and record it as well. I haven’t gone here in over a year, haven’t received any notice from them, after cancelling my membership in person. Suddenly, I am contacted by debt collectors for unpaid credit.
This is not a good business and they are predatory in every manner. I will be contacting my attorney, and I would advise you to spend your money at a different gym!

The men’s sauna is constantly out of service and it takes them several weeks to get fixed. It’s been broken for the past month. I pay $30/month and don’t even have access to all of the included amenities!

If I could give zero stars I would. When I signed up for personal training they said it would be a 3 month commitment which was fine, I barely used it due to scheduling conflicts and I was under the impression that if I did not renew after 3 months it would cancel. Apparently it does not, so I called to cancel 5 separate times over multiple months and they always told me the manager will call you tomorrow which they never did. I’ve moved over an hour away and had to make a special trip down there on my only day off work to sign a piece of paper… the manager told me that the person who handles the training end of things is on vacation so he can’t cancel it until after they get back which is of course after another payment is supposed to come out and he can’t cancel my membership until after the training is cancelled but he will “take care of it” when the training gets cancelled which I’m not sure if I believe after everytime I’ve tried to get in contact with them before. When you sign up they make you sign a bunch of documents that are misleading and explain them without giving all the facts, atrocious customer service and in my opinion shady business practices. I hope people read these comments before getting themselves into this situation and think twice about signing up.

UPDATE: So as I predicted, they never cancelled my membership after going to talk to them in person and signing their cancellation paperwork. At this point this is theft and I have had to report them to the bank as fraudulent charges. I seriously hope they get shut down so no one else has to deal with this.

I’ve been a Crunch Fitness member since they opened in 2022. Over the years, I’ve had several trainers as they cycled through quickly, but none stood out until my last trainer, Aaron.

Aaron is a college student and a veteran, and I worked with him for almost two years. I have a medical condition that makes me prone to passing out easily. Aaron went above and beyond — he educated himself, worked with my physical therapist, and created a safe plan so I could train without fear.

Recently, Crunch restructured their training program and essentially forced him to choose between school and his part-time job. Instead of valuing a trainer who actually cared about safety and relationships, they let him go.

I explained to the training manager that I cannot safely work with another trainer and asked to cancel my training membership. Despite knowing my circumstances, Crunch has refused to respond to me and even charged my card for two more sessions I cannot use.

This isn’t just unfair — it’s unsafe. They discarded a veteran who gave his clients real care, and they’re leaving members like me with bills for services we cannot safely use. Crunch does not value its trainers, its clients, or basic accountability.

My spouse and I just joined this gym about a month ago when we moved to the area. The gym is big, has high energy, and has a lot of equipment to offer. I’ve really enjoyed the spin classes as well. The kids crunch babysitting is great (when open) but when it’s unexpectedly closed that’s a big deal breaker for us. It’s been twice now since joining that’s it’s been closed on Sundays which is disappointing to parents looking forward to a workout using this service that we pay the highest gym plan to use. We have to get ready, load up a 2 year old (who is excited and gets disappointed), drive to the gym, take our preworkout (then can’t workout), to get into the gym and find out it’s closed. I don’t want to have to guess if it’s going to be open or not. Again, the employees are great and my son loves going there but the fact that it’s unreliable is making us second guess our decision of joining this gym.

EDIT: Changing into a one star review, probably the fourth time the kids Crunch was closed this time the excuse was because today is Super Bowl Sunday. Unbelievable.

Edit: yet ANOTHER day Kids Crunch closed 6/2/24

Anddd another one 6/29

AGAIN 8/4

And again. 8/11 (Was told they can’t find anyone reliable.)

9/15 - closed at 3 PM instead of the normal 8 PM because staffing shortage. This is incredibly too often.

11/16 Literally literally was about to adjust my rating. However, there was only one employee this morning. The kids area closed all day. What a joke.

Updating: June 2025 - Jordan the manager has hired a handful of new staff that has since allowed kids crunch to be open all but 1 time since the beginning of the year changing 1 star to a 3 star. Call offs for k club still not posted anywhere so it’s a surprise when you go and it happens or I’d rate higher

8/29/25 - closed again said can’t post changes online for “bad publicity” then do better? Back to a 1 star

8/31 - normal operating hours and NO one at kids Crunch AGAIN! Calling corporate.

Sauna is always out of order! It’s insane. They need to buy a unit that doesn’t break when people mistakenly put water on the unit. Once they fix it somebody throws water on it and breaks again. This happens regularly. They keep repeating the same process expecting a different result…

Childcare is a nice perk but it is unreliable and my child leaves filthy from the dirt in the child room. This past year it got better but here we are again closed on a Friday night without a warning. They will not post it on social media that they are closed because of a bad image but they will let you drag your child here and tell you it’s closed at check in. Yet, they can constantly promote their trainers and try to recruit new members on social media but can’t post that kids crunch is closed. We continue to come because it really is the only gym in the area with childcare but this is a warning for parents whose time is valuable!

The spin classes and teachers (Christy and Cindy) are wonderful! However, the bikes are not well maintained and it takes begging management to get the bikes fixed.

There are some positives to this gym but it doesn’t come without the drawbacks you just have to deal with because these are ongoing issues.

Also would like to note that I don’t enjoy writing bad reviews for businesses but nothing has changed after multiple customers have brought these issues to management’s attention over years without resolution.

Disgusting gym. The staff doesn't show up some days and keeps the gym closed. It seems there is no cleaning crew to keep the place tidy. The main gym is dusty, trash sits for DAYS around the place (see the picture). The bathrooms are deplorable. I was told by another patron that my membership could be potentially revoked for inquiring about when the sauna would be back up and running.

Gym seems nice but staff are sleazy. Signed up for a 7 day free trial on their website and staff tried to make me pay for a day pass. When they relented and let me have a trial they only set it for 3 days.

If there so scummy about getting new people that makes me wonder how they treat existing members.

If I could choose 0 stars I absolutely would! I signed my 16 year old son up online, found out he already signed himself up (idk how a 16 yr old can legally enter a contract).. went in person to cancel my membership I created online and sign the waivers for my son to workout at the gym. A few days later my son called me and told me I had to come to the gym because I didn’t “sign the waivers” which I did in person.. fast forward to the next month… I was charged $25 and so was he.. I figured it was cause he didn’t pay his fee and ignored it.. 2 weeks ago they charged my acct $90.. I checked my son’s acct and he was charged $90 as well. I called the gym and some kid answered and told me it was his 1st day. I asked for a manager and was told that the manager wouldn’t speak with me. The kid said I had to come in and cancel memberships in person… I asked the kid if I’d get my $90 back and he placed me on hold… when he returned he told me I wouldn’t be refunded because it’s a “corporate” company and they had no way to refund me! I called my bank and placed a stop payment on Crunch and was refunded my money through my bank while it was investigated. A few nights later at midnight I get a notification from Capital One that Crunch charged my credit card $90.. I went in today and cancelled my son’s membership and mine (which I canceled 2 months ago in person) and was told to sign a little pad at the front desk.. I asked the girl what I’m signing since there’s nothing but a pad in front of me… she said she’d send it via email. I just received the email and apparently I agreed to pay another $25 for each acct without being offered the opportunity to view the documents presented! This place is an absolute scam and I have contacted my attorney! Do not ever give this company your personal info and do not ever use their base model gym ever!

Unethical/illegal business practices. I joined when my contract with another gym was acquired by Crunch. I have documentation from them saying everything in my contract would remain the same and was told upon joining Crunch the same. Within 2 months of joining, I began being charged 40% more. I was not notified of this change and chose to say nothing, being a reasonable person. After approx. 1 year, this was then increased so that I was paying 250% of my contract that was never to change. Again, with no communication of this increase. When I asked about this, a staff member told me I was swept into the crunch base plan and there was nothing I could do. When I later explained this to a manager and canceled my membership, he wrote up the reason as 'no use'. This is clearly a breach of contract and very sketchy/greedy. Do not join here

I had a truly upsetting experience trying to cancel my Crunch Fitness membership after having a baby. I did everything I was told to do—came into the location in person to cancel, just like they said—but there was no manager available. I followed up multiple times over email and phone (my husband even went in to cancel for me) and instead of support or understanding, I was met with rudeness and unprofessionalism from the manager, Jordan.

As a new mom dealing with a difficult first month with my newborn, this was the last thing I needed. I was trying to prioritize my baby’s health and didn’t expect a gym to make something as simple as canceling a membership so needlessly stressful. There was no compassion, no flexibility, and no sense of accountability from the staff.

I regret signing up and will not return. If you're looking for a gym that treats members with basic decency—especially during major life changes—look elsewhere.

Note to Jordan who never asked how my baby was doing; He’s healthy now and we’re home.

I canceled my membership after reporting a man who loudly called me a homophobic slur. Staff didn’t document it, didn’t speak to him, and didn’t even ask for his name or talked to the guy.

When I followed up, a manager told me it was “freedom of speech” and they couldn’t do anything. That’s… certainly a take. 🫠

Hate speech in a private business? Not protected. What was protected? Their indifference.

I asked twice for basic accountability. Instead, I got gaslit with a Constitutional mansplaining by the manager.

Sure, Jan. 💅🙄

And it is in a different $ amount than what they used to charge me! This is literally theft at this point. DO NOT EVER SIGN UP HERE!! I can't believe this to be honest.

Ok gym itself. Nothing better than ok. Manager needs to be evaluated on how to treat people

*wasn’t referring to “Jordan”. Either you assumed I was talking about that specific manager or the person I talked to lied about being the manager.

Either way I see you tried to do what you do on every other negative review, and throw shade on your members. Since the person responding to reviews makes the company look even worse, I would suggest running an example through chat gpt or even looking how other businesses respond to reviews.

This location is in SERIOUS need of some quality control and customer service education! Recently a dear friend of mine had a baby and decided that she would need to cancel her membership (she is not able to take her child to the childcare at Crunch for 6 months) at this time. She called to cancel and was told she would have to come in to the location in person to do this…. Seriously?? As a mother myself, believe me, having to go to a gym to cancel a membership is (and should be) the last on any new mother’s mind! They repeatedly told her that it was in the contract. They belittled and argued with both her (on the phone) and her husband (who went in person to try and do it on her behalf). To the Crunch Gym - change your policy and contract or make sure there can be exceptions for any situation where it is an unreasonable burden and expectation for your customers to have to be there in person to cancel their membership. A phone call should have been more than sufficient in this situation!!

The gym is well-equipped, with all the essential zones and machines you'd expect. The staff is friendly and reliable, and aside from one or two machines with inaccurate weight markings, the equipment is solid.

However, cleanliness is a serious issue. The floors beneath the benches and machines are consistently covered in dust and hair, and it’s unclear if the equipment is ever sanitized. Since joining, I’ve developed a fungal infection; something I’ve never experienced at other gyms.

While I’ve occasionally seen staff clean the main walkways, I’ve never seen them wipe down machines, cardio equipment, or the benches, nor do they clean under them. In comparison, the Crunch Fitness in Erie, PA maintains a much higher standard of hygiene and upkeep. There are even days that I go where the bottles of cleaner members use to clean benches are all empty, all of them.

If they prioritized cleanliness, this would easily be a 4- or 5-star gym. But in today’s fitness environment, a gym that’s not clean just doesn’t cut it, not even close.

She went in May 2025 and was told she couldn’t cancel because a manager wasn’t there. Went in June of 2025 and was told there was a fee because she didn’t cancel within 30 days of membership expiring. Despite what crunch says in reviews below. It is not easy to cancel. It’s 11am on a Sunday and no manager to cancel a membership. Front desk girl was extremely rude. When asking what all canceling entails, she said signing some papers and walks away. Has been my home gym since the day they opened and unfortunately probably going to be leaving. They have GROSSLY over-sold memberships. If you go any time between 3 and 8 you are literally shoulder to shoulder with everyone. You'll be there for 4 hours trying to get a legit workout in because of how long you have to wait for equipment.

The place is constantly out of paper towels on the floor and in the locker rooms.

The sauna in the men's locker room has had an improper seal around the door since the day they opened and it's still not fixed.

The stand up tanning bed floors are never cleaned and the bulbs flicker.

I left LA Fitness for similar reasons, but within the past year or so Crunch has actually become 10x worse than LA ever was.

If you are considering joining I would highly consider a different gym.

IN RESPONSE TO THE OWNER: Why is my name relevant? You've never once responded to a negative review in a professional way.
Based on EVERY SINGLE response you have to negative reviews, you take zero accountability and fail to acknowledge ANYTHING is wrong at your gym. You constantly defend poor practices and you never once say anything along the lines of agreeing with critique. Here is a word track for you... "It isn't acceptable that the seal on the sauna hasn't been fixed. Thank you for bringing that to my attention and I assure you I will be getting that fixed ASAP." It is literally a couple hundred dollar fix to re-frame it. You have over-sold memberships by 2 times yet cannot invest in something that simple to make the sauna function how it is supposed to. I'm sure you are making obscene amounts of money, but that doesn't make you a good owner, manager or person.

Dear Crunch Fitness Owner - Thank you for your reply to my Google Review. I indeed did "Just drop by the club," but I could not cancel my membership in a few minutes. The manager at the front desk ignored me for a few minutes while I waited and watched him work on the computer at the front. When he finally called me over, his words were, "So you wanna schedule a personal trainer." It's insulting to not be taken seriously. Once I clarified my purpose, he clicked an item on the computer and quipped, "Well, I can't cancel your membership, anyway. You're not synced in the computer."
DO BETTER CRUNCH FITNESS! When someone wants to cancel a membership (whatever their reasons are), don't hassle them. Make it happen!

Original Review: It’s interesting how this business can take my money every month without problems, but when I go in person to cancel my membership, they all of a sudden have problems. I’ve called them several times over the past few months to say I wanted to cancel. Why did not they say at that time there could be a glitch with syncing the system. A little suspect to me.

I barely go anymore because they very clearly oversold memberships. Typically, I feel like a sardine in there (Crunch Meter has never worked on the app to show peak times) and the parking lot is jammed. There is one water fountain/bottle filler for the entire gym, which makes no sense to me (and it often stinks). They don’t offer new classes anymore and frankly, I just got bored of the class selection. I used to fill out the surveys and the classes always stayed the same. They need more later evening classes for us younger people and afternoon weekend classes. There is lots of improvement at this gym, but it is still a value for what you get.

Will move out PA at the end of the month. Back to March 07. I talked to front desk managers in person twice , and was told to email to the higher level manager to assist with cancel membership due to moving. Emailed to its general manager a week ago, still haven’t hear anything back.
After filled complaints with government agency, a manager called me and said he will cancel the membership without me coming in on March 24th. However I found out my crunch mobile app still showed my status active after 10 days. Had to drive to the gym and was waiting for long time and then walked to help desk twice asked for cancellation. It will be canceled until the gym will charge me another monthly fee plus tax. So basically the total charges for my less than one month gym activity is three months of membership fees and a $55 annual fee. It is so difficult to cancel and will not go back again.

I hadn’t been to the gym in a few years, and I was feeling intimidated about joining a new place being out of shape. I immediately felt welcomed at Crunch. Great equipment, options for exercises, classes, hydromassage, everything. I started working with a trainer, Josh N, to help me relearn proper lifting form and to help me take the guess work out of a gym routine. Josh is awesome - he’s very kind, encouraging, and gives me a great workout. The gym went from being a place that intimidated me to a place I look forward to going to.

I don’t use the tanning beds or the childcare resources - so I can not speak to those.

The only reason for 4 instead of 5 stars is cleanliness and equipment maintenance - women’s locker room gets very messy; paper towels on the floor, trash needs to be changed more often, bathrooms need to be kept a little cleaner. Many of the bikes in The Ride classroom are broken (displays are broken). I think the gym needs a good deep cleaning and repair day!

That being said, I love this gym and will continue to be a patron here as long as I am able!

Worst experience with a business I've ever had, when I signed up with Matt Zangaro in November I tried one of the peak packages because I was told I could switch down to the base anytime. when I called back to switch to the base package after a month I talk to a nice girl that said she drop me down to the base package. Then I received a charge for the peak packages again, I called back and talked to the assistant general manager and he looked into the charges and said we can't drop you down packages even though I was told I was already. Nick the assistant general manager even said none of the girls do the billing here and said that wasn't possible.

When I called back to speak to the general manager a nice girl picked up again and explained that she could help me with the billing and that she could help me while I was on hold, I said unfortunately I've already tried to do it this way and no girls are allowed to do the billing is which I was told.

Every time I've called they've just had different reasons and excuses as to why they couldn't cancel my membership or downgrade when I was told I could the first month I signed up. (the last time I spoke to Matt on the phone he even said he might have said that but their policies have changed. (He did say it)

I would never recommend this gym to anyone else and I hope this helps anyone that is thinking about signing up. ( Gave 1 star because there was no option for 0)

My son's home on leave from the Air Force and was previously a member at this location and I still am (for now). I took him with me for a workout today and asked the guy working at the front desk for a day pass, as he was home on leave, thinking they'd give him a complimentary pass. This guy makes him out paperwork for liability and then asks him for $10. I tried explaining he was previously a member and and was home on leave and that he'd likely reactivate his membership when he returned and we just wanted to get him in for the day. The employee said shouldn't have canceled his membership and it was $10 . We ended up leaving. This is really tacky and not what I would consider any sort of appreciation for his service. I'm contemplating canceling my own membership.

Pros: Staff is super friendly and kind. Anna is an AMAZING trainer- if I was just rating her I would give the place 5 stars!! She really takes the time to customize the workout to what I need, correct my form, and make sure that I get the most from every workout. The gym is mostly clean and well stocked with sanitizer and paper towels and the bathrooms are kept nice.

Cons: The childcare center sucks. The hours are wack as hell, with a break from 1-4PM on weekdays. You are right next to NA School District which has half day kindergarten that gets out at 11:45. If they even extended 30 minutes we could feed our kids and actually get a workout in when they’re not in school. Also, it’s clear that this is just an afterthought and there is no real consideration for the kids. The toys are old and it’s unclear how often they’re cleaned. Because there are no activities set up, the kids regularly resort to roughhousing. Maybe invest in a small indoor play structure or set up an activity or something?

I enjoy working out at this gym and like to take Ride classes. The Schwinn spin bikes are in need of repair/maybe battery for the display that turns off after a short time. It is difficult to follow the instructor without the display because you need to monitor your RPMs and your tension numbers. Impossible without the display. There are not enough working bikes if there is a full class signed up. Terrible disservice to members who pay EXTRA to take this class.

Update: they actually fixed the bikes and added new batteries!! Yay

Cleaner than other gyms in the area, but beware the contracts that are seemingly as lengthy as car leases... They'll get you in for $9.99 a month (plus credit card fee of $2, plus tax), and a $55 annual fee... Then at the 1-year mark you are increased to $15.99 a month (plus credit card fee of $2, plus tax) AND the same $55 a fee... And then when you complain, you're told 1.) It's an initial term you signed to and agreed to raise the price at 1 year and 2.) they don't make the rules/fees/costs, etc. Again, it's fully disclosed in what you sign, but they hide behind it instead of just a transparent, flat rate without the need for "teaser" marketing.

They don't value the safety of their members. I looked for clamps for my barbell for squats. None to be found. I asked for some up front. They told me to look again. I found broken ones and tried to use those. In the process three forty five lb weights came off the bar mid squat. I go tell the front. They told me to look again. I take one more lap before I finally said enough to management. Then he gas lights me with all you had to do was ask (four times, walk for half an hour in circles and almost kill yourself).

He then suggests I pay my own money for my own clamps. For a gym I spend thirty bucks a month on.

His next best suggestion was cancelling my membership. Finally something we can Agree on

They’re all happy with everyone just to get people to sign up but once you try to cancel, it’s a complete 180. Their whole attitude changes, you get nothing but rudeness and contempt when you’re canceling. You have to cancel in person but once the CFPB comes through with regulations against these practices, I’m sure there will be a lawsuit against them. I had canceled online then finally went in person because that’s what they said I had to do once I saw a new charge. I requested for them not to charge me the last month since I thought canceling online would suffice. He stated there is no manager on site and I would have to talk to him/her in person. It’s crazy how easy it is to signup but you have to jump through hoops to cancel. All I wanted was for them not to charge me for the last month since I thought I canceled the month prior and they couldn’t accommodate that.

I’ve been using Crunch Fitness for a while now, and I have to say that the overall gym experience has been good. However, I’ve had serious concerns about the childcare service, particularly with one staff member.
There’s a staff member who has a consistently bad attitude. She doesn't seem well-trained when it comes to working with children. Recently, while peaking through the window I saw her l grab my 1-year-old son Im assuming after he threw a toy or something along those lines. She doesn’t seem to ever redirect his behavior or try to resolve the situation, she seems overwhelmed and doesn’t attempt to communicate or engage with him in a positive way. When I asked about it, there was no effort to address my concerns or offer an explanation. It’s clear that this staff member spends more time holding or playing with other children but doesn’t engage with my son at all. This makes me feel as though he is being treated differently under her care, which is extremely concerning as a parent.
That being said, there is another staff member who works in the evenings and she is absolutely wonderful. She’s always pleasant, attentive, and patient with the kids. I’ve never had an issue with her, and I always feel comfortable leaving my child in her care.
Unfortunately, because of the inconsistent and concerning behavior of some of the staff, I don’t feel comfortable leaving my children in the childcare area anymore. It's a shame because the gym itself is great, but childcare is a huge part of the experience for parents.
I hope management takes this feedback seriously and ensures that all staff members are properly trained and held to higher standards when it comes to child care

1. Gym is gross. When you pick up dumbbells or a bar, there is a thick layer of grease and sweat.
2. They bill like con artists/scammers. They bumped up my rate without notifying me, and I was paying an extra 7 dollars a month for an upgraded plan that I did not request or desire. This went on for over a year. "It's in the contract." Oh well hundreds of dollars lost to these scumbags. Also, they will charge you an extra fee to cancel your membership, and they will bill you for an extra month after you cancel because "it's in the contract."
3. You can't cancel over the phone or email despite assurances from some of the staff. In fact you can only cancel in person during certain hours of the day. They make you come in person to cancel so the manager can body shame you, tell you about your bad eating habits, and try to make you feel guilty for not coming in to workout.
3. It's extremely crowded. If you come after work you will wait to use basic equipment like a bench or squat rack.
4. The only water fountain in the gym was broken for a year... completely ridiculous.
5. Sauna perpetually broken.

I’ve been a member of this gym for about 2 years. My favorite part of the gym is the sauna, when I’m in training season the sauna is great for recovery. The copious amounts of treadmills is awesome. The staff in the early morning have always been pleasant. I would like to warn people of their cancellation policy. In order to cancel your membership, you are required to sign a cancellation form in person with a manager only. I suggest calling the gym ahead of time to make sure a manager is available in the period of time you are planning to come in. Unfortunately, I came during the hours that they told me that a manger WOULD be available (Monday-Thursday 10am-9pm, Saturday-Sunday 7am-2pm) and there was no available manger for me to complete my cancelation. I specifically got someone to cover for me at work while I took my lunch to go cancel my membership only to be told no one was available and I would have to come back. I wasted an hour of my time and my lunch break (driving to and back from the gym), not including my second trip to the gym later that day. There was no “sorry for the inconvenience” or any accommodation for the inconvenience this situation caused me. I’m leaving a 5 star review in good faith because I never had an issue with the gym or the staff before this situation, but I do wish someone would have at least apologized. I have worked in a client facing industry my whole career and I have dealt with unhappy clients, I understand how it feels, so I hope this 5 star review can influence the gym to form a better cancellation process and help them communicate more clearly with their customers. I still do recommend this gym, I just hope other people have a better experience than I did! :)

I went to cancel my membership with Crunch Fitness today drove all the way from home which is a 30 mins drive I made a trip to the McKnight Crunch Fitness location with the intention of cancelling my membership due to financial reasons, as I am currently in the process of purchasing a home and have been advised by both my lawyer and lender to cancel any unnecessary subscriptions.

Upon arriving at the location, I was greeted by a gentleman who informed me that I would need to wait for a manager to process my cancellation. After waiting for several minutes, I approached the front desk to inquire about the delay and was met with rudeness by the agent, Nae.

I was shocked by Nae's unprofessional behavior and lack of empathy towards my situation. When I explained that I needed to cancel my membership due to debt consolidation, she responded in a dry and dismissive manner. I was then informed that I would need to pay a cancellation fee equivalent to three months' membership, plus my annual fee, in order to terminate my account. This was the first time I had heard of such a policy, and I found it to be unreasonable.

Despite waiting for a manager for an extended period of time, one never arrived. When I asked Nae for the contact information for corporate, she refused to provide it and instead told me to call the supervisor to obtain the number. This lack of transparency and poor customer service only added to my frustration.

As a result of my experience, I requested the immediate closure of my account and a refund of any charges incurred due to the mistreatment and unprofessionalism I experienced. If this matter is not resolved promptly, I will have no choice but to seek legal action.

I am deeply disappointed by the behavior of Nae and the lack of support from the other staff members present during the incident. This is the worst location for this gym. The most unprofessional staff I have ever experienced. This is not my 1st 2nd time having issues with unprofessional staff. I am done I will never step foot back into that location, gym period.

Just adding to the many, many one-star reviews here, and oh boy, have I been waiting!!! Today was the day where I FINALLY thought I was going to get to cancel my membership to this horrible gym… but of course, I couldn’t cancel my membership because the manager wasn’t in (dumb reason to not be able to cancel). I shouldn’t have even been surprised because the manager was NEVER in when I tried to transfer my membership and the woman working the front desk gave me so much attitude (y’all know who you are). I’ll save you another review talking about the broken equipment, dirty building, poorly run facility, and billing issues—there’s many below this one, but I second everything! But just wanted to come on here and finally share how much I personally cannot stand this gym and how excited I was to leave… only to find out I have to come back. UGH!!!!!

I really do love this gym and I love the equipment that they have, but I felt very pressured by this employee the other night that kept PUSHING me about the personal trainer deal that was going on. I was just trying to go on a 2 mile walk for the night, and when I check in, he showed me a paper about the deals going on and started giving me information about it, but I am not interested in looking for any personal trainer so I said no I’m ok. But even after I said I didn’t want to he wouldn’t stop talking to me about it and asking me questions about how much weight I’m trying to lose and what I’m trying to work. And when he was giving me MORE information about it I told him “ok I’ll just look at it online later” since I was just trying to get to my workout. Then he proceeded to tell me i won’t be able to find it online, and then put my name on a calendar for one. I told him I didn’t want to do that for the 3rd or 4th time and I ended up just walking away. I felt very uncomfortable in this moment because it felt as though he was forcing me and pressuring me into getting a personal trainer and was not letting me leave until I had signed up for one (which I did not).
Other than that it’s a good gym with a lot of equipment but I do not want employees in my face about deals that I do not have the money for, and then making me still feel pressured to sign up.

I’ve been a member since the gym opened. I’ve let things slide without writing a review, the filth of the gym, the multiple times paper towel was completely out and they wanted us to use community rags, the broken air conditioning in 90 degree weather but today takes the cake. When an employee takes a hit of their vape behind the front desk and blows it into the air. Maybe I’m just old and it’s not a big deal but in a gym setting that’s just wild. I won’t name the person because they’re not unpleasant when checking in but can we get some standards back in the gym? The new manager is too worried about arranging the tanning lotion bottles and taking pictures for instagram than walking around the gym and making sure everything is going well. I would’ve dumped this gym a long time ago but now we’re pretty much out of options for the amount of equipment they offer because other gyms closed when they moved into the area. It’s a shame because I think they’d be getting some customers back if they were still open.

I can tell you why right off the bat, there's so much dirt built up under all the benches and dumbbell racks that's it's pathetic. You got 30 people working there and most of em are standing around when you first come walk-in. AND NOW FOR THE NUMBER 1 PROBLEM - the men's sauna has been broke for 1 1/2 weeks !!! I asked one of the people that wotk there and they admitted that Crunch has the worst equipment maintenance programs around. Any machine that goes down on average takes about a month veggie being repaired. I go there because it's 5 minutes from my job but being I have WELL ON TARGET I'll start back going to La Fitness which is right up the road or PowerHouse gym which is 5 minutes away. If you ever been in PowerHouse gym there's always someone walking around sweeping up dust and cleaning up. Crunch has fallen way off and that's why I give it a honest 2 star rating. I just want to say that last night I went like every day to exercise with my girlfriend, the only difference is that this time I arrived at 9:20 pm and I always arrived at 11:20...and I had never had any problems with anyone...but .it turns out this time it was another person from the staff was there at that time...her name is Ruby, I don't know what her problem is but this is the third time she's done it. First, she's very rude, neither welcome nor hello nor good night.
compared to other people who work there they do their job well.. .short story...every night we go...my girlfriend has to sign in...but the difference is that it bothers me a little because it's every night the same thing... but I know she has to do her job... the problem is that she was very rude to ask for it... and always with that look of racism... or hatred... and then she started arguing with me... and I ended up walking away very upset because I am the client and even though she was right that I have to sign to enter... you as a worker should never argue with a client... well she did... and very dirty when talking to me... I am a person almost 50 years old...and she is young...the worst thing is when I started training she finished her shift and started telling all her friends something about me...and they 3 times more than 5 younger guys tried to provoke a confrontation. That's thanks to Ruby...they started following me around the gym...I waited the next day to talk to the general manager, ..this guy Jordan...I explained the situation to him and it seemed that he was defending her, ...that means ..what she says is true and I am a liar...and then he. ends up telling me or asking me what you are looking for to cancel your account...and logically I told him no but it wasn't until i left I felt even worse because...instead of trying to make me feel good, the same general manager told me that I wanted to cancel my account...incredible...well now I'm thinking about it very carefully...maybe I'll leave that gym... . I have been a customer since they were open...can't believe it......its no respect for me ..or !maybe because I am latino..they treat me like that..

Gym is perfectly serviceable. Problem is that their pricing structure is one of those “low price but only if you pay for the entire year upfront” models. If you try to pay month to month, it’s extra. And on top of that extra is some sort of service fee. So just read a little more closely of how memberships break down. Also, the staff are nigh impossible to get ahold and the managers are some sort of mythical creature, locked in a gilded tower, never to be seen or spoken to. Do they even exist??

Worst customer service front desk associate on 8/15/24 around 8pm. Young female with no communication skills and looked miserable doing her job. Asked for a stand-up tanning bed and she told me I had to wait 5 mins for one to be available. That wasn’t the problem. I stood there for 10 more minutes asked her if the bed was ready. She said it was and that it’s been ready.. which she never told me, and I didn’t think it was ready because she never went in the room to clean it. I told her she needed to communicate with the customer to let me know the bed was ready to get in. When I walked in the room the bed was already on and the timer was started and 3 mins into the session and I didn’t even have my tanning lotion on so I stopped the bed and had to get dressed to tell her to restart it. She walked away and started helping other customers ignoring me.. I had to get dressed four times and walk in and out for help 4 times redressing because I was standing naked and couldn’t get the bed to start when I went out for the 5th time asking for help she gave me an attitude and was raising her voice in front of people then I got ignored for another 15 minutes before another young man came to help me and said that the system was down, which I don’t believe . The floors in the rooms are filthy with dust and dirty floors and lotion on the walls, and don’t look like the have been swept or mopped daily. Never had a problem usually go in and Courtney is at the front desk and very pleasant and helps me. Never had a problem with the bed starting with her. She’s very pleasant gets the bed started and cleans it before I use it. 45 mins waiting No Tan and to be told the system went down. Terrible experience with front desk. Anyways, the great paper towel shortage reached new lows today when everyone was expected to share THE SAME nasty, damp, fully of other people's 🍑 sweat microfiber towel. Canceled our membership but got charged until our credit card expired for another few months. After bringing this issue to management they said a refund was on the way and it was their fault for not canceling. The refund never came even after multiple phone calls and in person conversations with the manager. Once new management came in they said they can’t refund me. I would not recommend going to this location since their previous management lied about the refund and the new management will not refund the canceled overcharging to our account.

UPDATED. Received no help from the email that was supplied by the response below. Had to go back into the business again to talk to the manager about my issue with the extra payments after the cancelation. While showing him which dates and costs that we got charged on my phones notes he proceeded to take my phone and delete the dates and pricing saying they do not count. This lead to him then stating that there was never a cancel contract created at the time of the cancelation by the previous manager of the gym so my complaints didn't matter since there was no record on their end of the cancelation. Which does not make sense since I have talked to both him on the phone and the previous manager both stating that we canceled back in October 2023 but those notes in their system were missing when meeting in person. He then proceeded to offer me free 3 months of membership if I wanted to join back.

I would highly recommend when canceling your membership have them print out their "Cancel Contract" while you are there. Since all their notes are internal they can say one thing to your face and another within the system. After dealing with what I had to go through I would of never signed up for this gym membership. At the end of all of this I lost about $180 after canceling my membership that they charged afterwards.

My husband and I love this gym. For us, it’s the standard for Pittsburgh. Unfortunately, we live pretty far from this location but on our off days we make the drive - it’s that good! On our most recent visit, Char was very helpful and she made us laugh so much, which was a great start to our morning. The equipment and size of the gym are definitely worth noting as well. 10/10!

It’s a big gym with lots of equipment, friendly staff and it’s pretty clean. The workers that run the childcare center are amazing, but there is no way of knowing if it’s full or closed. There’s a sign up for all classes, but 0 for childcare, so there are days I walk in with kids and get turned away, which is frustrating.

I’ve been a member at this Crunch since it opened in 2022 and it’s been great. The daycare is amazing since getting to the gym otherwise would be almost impossible and my 3 year old daughter loves going. The employees are so kind and I can’t emphasize enough how much I appreciate them. The gym definitely can get really busy, like any other gym, but it’s big enough that there’s always something to do/some equipment open. The parking lot is massive so even when it’s busy, there’s always spots so parking isn’t ever an issue.

I started training with Dallas 6 weeks ago. He is incredible. He is so smart and supportive. He completely understands my goals and is helping me to achieve them. Rob (another trainer) is also wonderful. He is kind, helpful and so easy to talk to. I truly appreciate all that they both do.

The gym has a lot of equipment and always a comfortable environment. I am there 2-3x a day. The front staff make it quite welcoming

Love this gym, it’s kept clean & friendly staff. Only BIG complaint is the amount of personal trainers who don’t have their clients wipe down the machines when they’re done??

Rob is one of the trainers at Crunch Fitness. My wife get there around 5 am and he’s already moving around. No job is too small for this guy. Today the desk attendant saw me and my wife coming for our DAILY hydrotherapy session and attempted to busy himself with doing something else. Rob noticed and ran over and made sure my wife and I were taken care of. Since we started coming a few months ago, this man has made every experience at this gym GOLDEN. Thank you Rob

My boyfriend and I love this gym. We weren't necessarily newbies, but definitely not 100% comfortable at first. Everyone here is amazing, there's a great range of machines and altho it's busy sometimes, usually enough space at the time we come. So happy this is the gym we picked. Our daughter is always so happy at the kids crunch play place! Johnna is amazing, as is India, Olivia, all of them are just great! Even some of the staff from outside the kids crunch get excited to see our daughter, like Maddi and Char. People recognize you and are happy to see you here. It makes wanting to come easy. I just wish they had more mats lol. But everyone here is wonderful and it's worth the price for the premium package by far.

While I love Crunch fitness for the excellent range of equipment they provide and for their friendly and helpful staff, this particular location needs to do a better job of cleaning. This gym has terrible, and I mean TERRIBLE customer service. I was mislead into getting a membership for my girlfriend and I that was supposed to allow her access to everything I could do. That was a lie. The first day there I was told guests get access to no extra amenities even though I was told the opposite when I toured and signed up. That is misleading information and terrible business practice. Management is beyond unhelpful

Also, there is no organization at this gym and the employees seem to clean almost nothing. Barbell plates are scattered everywhere. Some of the benches have extremely limited plates on them so you're forced to walk across the gym and disrupt someone else's workout to grab plates that other adults couldn't be bothered to put back. Most of the ropes for cable machines are frayed and in bad condition. Its so disorganized that most people cant be bothered to wipe down benches after themselves. Support local gyms that care about the quality of their space and the value of your time.

I’ve been coming to Crunch since they’ve opened and I love it here! I’ve never been much of a consistent gym goer until I started coming here. It’s very friendly and welcoming. I like how diverse it is here. There’s all different age groups, and different ability levels. I love the morning crew, especially Elaine! She goes above and beyond. She really is such a doll 😊 I’ve lost 50 lbs and now I’m working gaining more muscle. I know the rap music isn’t popular with everyone in the morning crowd but I enjoy it. Gym is fine, but they will take your money with their anti-consumer practices. I was paying month to month (base fee is $16 with setting it up through your bank account).
When I went to cancel since I was moving they told me they have a 30 day cancellation policy. So I paid for 1 additional month. Then I got charged again a month afterwards. When I called they said they had no paperwork that I cancelled and they couldn’t take the charge back.

Decent gym, terrible managers. Read the other reviews will steal your money once you decide to cancel.

Horrible waste of 30 minutes. On the phone I was told that they had multiple lay down tanning beds. Then they said 26.99 a month. Then I got in and signed up then they said there was a $49 annual fee. Ok even with all that I was told you have to show that you bring eye goggles every time. No other tanning facility required this!!! Then a man was at the desk very angry that fees went up without notification. He was getting a refund. I had to wait and wait for the mgt to refund all that I had paid for.

Bad experience altogether THEY ARE NOT 24/7

ITS DUPER NOISY THERE AND PARKING LOT IS EXTREMELY FULL

They need to require earphones due to the deafening sound. Oh and they have a daycare place for kids do you are subsidizing families and being exposed to a lot more viruses

Gym has steadily been declining. Equipment is starting to degrade and many of the pads are cracked and in need of maintenance. Spray bottles for cleaning tend to have sprayers that are failing. Leaky roof issue has been an issue for at least a year.

On 04/14/2024 the gym ran out of paper towels and is using cloth towels for everyone to sop up their sweat. It's disgusting and unsanitary.

These chain gyms all follow the same formula of coming in hard with marketing into a new area and then quickly falling into general disrepair. I'm hoping CF rights the ship quickly.

The gym is fine, except that there is only 1 water fountain in the whole place. They make it very difficult to cancel your membership. I moved away, and made a special trip on a Saturday to cancel my membership only to be told that they were unable to cancel memberships on Saturday. You have to come in during specific times during the week to be able to cancel. So I came back during the week and canceled, but they charged me my upcoming annual fee to even be able to cancel. The manager was also rude the while dealing with the cancellation. I would not return.
