EPT just started offering massage services, so I scheduled a massage with Amy to get some work done on my lower back which is generally stiff/sore from strength sports. At 78 and after a knee replacement, shoulder reversals… the list is long but I was suddenly afraid to go back to a gym where I could get hurt out of stupidity. The people who work at gyms are good but had no clue what to do with me. My doc recommended Elite. I was amazed at my first visit. The physical and interview were well beyond anything I had experienced. I thought I was in pretty good shape for an older woman. I walk 5 miles a day, had a little morning work out with stretches and weights….but I wasn’t. I signed up and have been working with my incredible trainer, Amy. My balance has improved, I do not walk hunched over, and I am stronger than I thought possible.
I love this place. It is wonderful to know that I can improve physically when so many of my friends figure that part of aging is knowing g what you cannot do. Amy has taught me that there is so much more my body is capable of.

I have been working out my entire life but Amy has made me realize there’s more to just working on muscles and cardio. We all know how to eat, more importantly, we all know how not to eat. But why? Amy gave me insight into how nutrition works, what my body needs, and how to think about foods. With a review of my normal diet as a guide, she explained the pros and cons of it along with what I should consider changing. With a warm smile, she did this with no judgement – there are neither saintly foods nor evil ones.

With understanding from nutrition sessions with Amy, I can see how foods impact my health. This gives me the opportunity to choose with knowledge.

After needing spinal fusion surgery at 50 I was very concerned that I wouldn't get back to the high level of activity I enjoy. Physical therapy after surgery only takes you so far. 9 months of training 3x a week has proven to be the smartest decision for my injury recovery and continuing overall wellness! I’m thrilled to write this review and thank the team at Elite for their part but a special thanks to Zack who works with me one on one. He creates specific programs for me after testing and goal checks, including nutrition sessions and always slips in fun facts. Please write a review highlighting your experience at Elite Personal Training and Fitnes Solutions.: I have always been active, and for the most part worked out regularly. Covid threw a monkey wrench into my early morning gym routine, so I bought a Peloton Bike. My historic focus has always been on cardio, figuring that if I was sweating that had to be a good thing. The bike is great for that, but being in my 60's I knew that I needed more. In the past, when I would incorporate weight training into my routine I always ended up hurting myself at some point since I was not doing things quite right. I started working out at Elite going on five months ago and it has been a great experience. Now when we're doing strength training I know that I'm being instructed on the correct way to do the exercise. Plus, I don't have to plan out anything. I just show up and do what they tell me to do. I've been introduced to core and balance exercises that I never knew existed. Just when you've gotten the hang of one exercise the trainer introduces a "progression" that adds more difficulty to the move, sop you are always moving upward. The upfront evaluation and ongoing testing provides both a "base line" of your fitness and feedback on your progress. The Trainers are all knowledgeable and friendly as well. Lastly, when you're working out on your own it's easy to skip a day, but knowing that you have someone that is counting on you to show up is extra motivation each and every time. My attitude is that there are 24 hours in each day, so why not take a single hour 2-3 days a week and do something good for yourself, and there is no better place to do that than at Elite.

I originally signed up to encourage my daughter to be more active. My daughter was reluctant at first. However, our trainer, Adriene, made training fun and before long, my daughter started looking forward to her training sessions.

Here I am a little over a year later and still training with Elite. As a physical therapist, I appreciate the quality of training that I receive from them. Their program is based on solid scientific foundation for safety and maximum results.

I would also like to give Dave, who heads Elite, a shout out. He is not only an excellent personal trainer; he is also an excellent physical therapist who generously gave his time to my daughter to help her with some musculoskeletal issues affecting her ability to train.

I was relatively healthy and fit until a few years ago, when I faced an unexpected health crisis. Although medical intervention quickly resolved the condition, I was left with a host of lingering, ongoing, chronic symptoms that had a substantial impact on my overall health. Consultations with doctors unfortunately resulted in no real explanations as to why I was feeling the way I was feeling or any helpful suggestions for how to manage or eliminate the symptoms.

That changed when I was recently fortunate enough to begin training at Elite. In one single conversation during the initial evaluation with Dr. Dave, he offered a detailed explanation, based on pure physiology, of how the treatment I needed to recover from the health crisis would have unfortunately also wreaked havoc on my system and was the likely contributor to many of the symptoms I was experiencing. Although I was happy to finally have a real reason for how I was feeling, Dr. Dave still had more to offer and scheduled for us to meet again for a nutrition and supplement consultation. During that consult, Dr. Dave explained why the theory that you can get all the nutrients you need by simply eating the right foods isn’t accurate and provided updated information on nutritional needs that go far beyond the antiquated RDA standards. He explained the key role digestion and a healthy gut play in overall health. He talked about other supplements that target concerns such as stress, pain, inflammation, and aging. As if that wasn’t helpful enough, he also discussed specific supplements that could actually aid in repairing the damage that was done to my system a few years ago. He followed up with a prioritized list of recommendations tailored to my specific needs and concerns. Even though it’s been a very short amount of time since I’ve been taking the supplements, I am already experiencing some benefits.

Information on nutrition and supplements can be overwhelming, contradictory, and downright confusing. Dr. Dave does the hard work for you and makes unbiased recommendations based on actual research and data from clinical trials, not on anecdotal statements, survey results, popular trends, or fads. Everything he talks about is based on his extensive education and training, and on real science. The wealth of knowledge he possesses is astounding. Have a conversation with him, ask him a question, or read what he regularly posts on the website, and you’ll see what I mean. Based on my own experience, I have come to trust Dr. Dave more than any other medical professional I have known. I would confidently and highly recommend a consultation with him to anyone who has health concerns, or to anyone who simply has an interest in looking and feeling better.

Dr. Dave and his staff of trainers are so far above the standard fitness center personal trainers, it's basically an entirely different thing. This is challenging training, but with the sophistication of physical therapy, individual plans, and decades of experience. I really love working out here. I train with Amy three days a week. I have always had an all or nothing attitude towards fitness, alternating between periods of being sedentary to overdoing it. This was ok until my 40s. I was getting heavier and less healthy from not exercising and pain and injuries from overexercising. I needed to reshape not just my body but my attitude towards exercise and how to incorporate it into my life in a healthy and consistent manner in order to improve my overall health and well being. I knew I needed to ditch the group fitness classes that were one size fits all and do something personalized. As a rehabilitation doctor the idea of going to a place that is run by a PT was very appealing, especially since i had neck and shoulder issues and didn’t want to make that worse. Dave did an evaluation and I was very impressed by his sincerity. It’s obvious that he really has a passion for helping people improve their health and function. I started working with Amy a little over a year ago and I adore her! She knows her stuff but she also knows me and can always pick up on how i’m feeling and how to best guide me on a given day. I can’t say enough positive things about Elite. This place is amazing, full of positive energy, trainers who encourage, teach, and support whatever goals you have for yourself. My trainer Justin is the most energetic, talented, positive, upbeat trainer with a great sense of humor. Justin is my biggest cheerleader and is always encouraging me to do better. He keeps me motivated by changing up my workout plan every time we meet. I have been at Elite for almost 5 months and I have to say the results I am seeing in my physical appearance have given me more confidence in myself and the desire to train even harder. Justin allows me to push myself at every workout as hard as I can and is constantly watching for proper form to decrease the potential for injury. He is in tune with my energy level and adjusts my workout accordingly to makes sure every exercise is done properly. Every few months you will be re-evaluated to see how much progress you have made. A few days ago during my re-evaluation, all the trainers, and clients who were there, were cheering me on to hold a plank as long as I could and not to give up. I surpassed my previous 5 minute plank hold time to a new time of 6 minutes and 5 seconds. (Not too bad for a woman of my age). I am one that always hated to work out however I knew that I needed to make detrimental changes in my lifestyle. I dreaded joining a gym so instead I decided to give personal training a shot. I couldn’t be happier with not just the results but the staff, they are truly Elite. I was so embarrassed during the initial assessment but 5 months later I couldn’t be more proud. I am blown away by the quality of the service I’ve received from Elite PTF and by the results I’ve seen in just 6 weeks of VIRTUAL training with Amy! It’s clear that these folks care – about the quality of service they provide and about their clients. From the first session with Dave, who laid out for me how virtual training would work, to the review of my medical / previous injury history, my diet and eating habits, my sleeping patterns, and my own personal goals, to the supplement regimen that Dave recommended (catered to me!), I felt cared for and supported every step of the way.

I was a bit skeptical at first about training virtually…I had very little equipment of my own and I worried about how well this could work, not being there in person. Turns out, Elite PTF really makes virtual training WORK. They sent me a bag of equipment to use at home: over-the-door resistance bands, sliders, mini-resistance band loops, a foam balance block, push-up bars, TRX-style suspension straps, a yoga mat and even a tripod for my phone! All I had to do was get a few dumbbells.

Amy has been a fantastic, supportive trainer. She encourages, challenges, and motivates me. Most importantly, she clearly knows her stuff and has a real gift for communicating how to correct form and make physical adjustments – not an easy task, over Zoom, but she nails it. She’s always watching, giving me feedback and asking me questions. Training with her is really fun and I look forward to every session.

The best part? In 6 weeks (training 3x/week) I have made progress I never would have thought possible in such a short amount of time: I’ve increased my plank hold from ~1 min to 4 min. + 24 sec!!!! I’ve dropped nearly 10 pounds…I’ve gone from being able to do ZERO “real” pushups to doing 3 sets of 7! I feel strong and stable, I’m sleeping better and feel more alert when I wake up, and I can see muscles starting to emerge in places where there hasn’t been anything for a long time. :)

Three months of doing various at-home exercise videos on YouTube 5x/week didn’t accomplish much of anything. Six weeks with Amy and I’m seeing results and feeling better than I’ve felt in years. If you’re feeling iffy about virtual training, I’m here to tell you it works! I couldn’t be happier or more grateful for this opportunity to be in such great hands and to have an entire program catered to my body, my abilities, my health and my goals. After years of being very active I was unable to do the things I used to be able to do as a result of multiple knee injuries. I continued to be unhappy with my limited mobility, flexibility, core strength and overall malaise and decided pursue what turns out to be a “life changing decision” - I started personal training and nutrition with Elite.

My goal was to reduce the ongoing knee pain, increase core strength and flexibility. After several months of targeted training with Adriene, not only have I dramatically increase my core strength and flexibility, but also my balance and mental acuity. 15 years ago, I retired from the USAF and changed from a very active lifestyle to a very sedentary one. Now at 60 years old, I’ve paid the price. At my heaviest I was 60 lbs. more than when I retired. Lots of aches and pains due to old injuries and arthritis. I tried my best to lose weight and “get fit” on my own, but never quite got to my targets. I was constantly in pain and miserable.

Working out with Dave has been a life-changing experience for my physical health over the last couple years.

Prior to starting his training, I had accepted that an injury from my college sport would always cause me to have arthritis following sports activities. Due to my gained core strength and mobility through his workouts, I can again play the sport I love with minimal arthritic pain.

Dave incorporates his knowledge in physical therapy, kinesiology, and various personal training techniques, to provide a unique workout program for you. He constantly adapts the workout, which will keep you excited to go to every workout.

Recently - I just had an InBody body composition analysis completed with Dave - which showed muscle, fat content, and other metrics - and specified by section of body. Dave does a great job of explaining the results and creating a new game plan for training and nutrition based on my goals and the inbody composition results. We are also going to do a periodic test in order to see how training progresses. I highly suggest anyone come in and meet with Dave to get his advice on training, nutrition, supplements and also see the benefit of data from the InBody body composition analyzer.

At the suggestion of a good friend, I setup an evaluation appointment with Dave Trumbore of Elite Personal Training. I had something in mind for my physical health for some time but had not followed up on it before my friend nudged me; I could see that he had benefited from his Elite training. That evaluation ten months ago started me on my beneficial path with Elite.

Dave looked me over then quizzed me on my health goals. For me these were simple: work to physically feel like I did in the past without hurting myself. Sounds simple. I had idea how to do it on my own. Dave gave me a personal, individual, plan to me get there.

Not being overweight helped me. Being out of shape from neglect did not. Dave’s plan addressed the later with hourly guided workouts three times a week. He plans each of my hours with his knowledge of what to do at each point in the sessions. He is there with me the entire time to direct and encourage me, while assuring that I will not be injured. Each hour is a complete challenge with constant direction and feedback. He intersperses helpful comments about diet and eating habits – things that I was aware of but never thought much about before. Dave also encouraged me to try the evening Yoga stretching classes which have complemented the workout times.

All in the friendly Elite Personal Training team has guided me to be fitter again. I feel like my old self. It has taken me hours of work to get here with Dave as my leader. I would never have done it alone.

I played sports in high school and college and have been active all of my life. I am now in my early 60s and more recently began feeling the effects of not eating well and not exercising regularly. A friend of mine, who trains at Elite Personal and Fitness Solutions in Huntington Valley, recommended that I start training there too. I was interested based on his recommendation but was reluctant since I live 45-60 minutes away.

Several months ago, I decide to give it a try and see if it was worth the long drive. I have to say I could not be happier – this place is great! On my initial visit I had a thorough evaluation which was followed by a lengthy discussion. Dr. Dave explained in detail many nuances of my health and laid out a plan that would help me achieve my goals.

I train with Dr. Dave – but all the trainers are quite knowledgeable and friendly. The training program that Dr. Dave prescribed that was very different from anything I ever experienced. Each training session is different. In a relatively short period of time, I have made significant improvement in my strength, balance, muscle tone and endurance. My health and weight problems are being improved as I am constantly challenged in every training session.

As I mentioned, I played many sports and exercised throughout my life but I never experienced anything like this type of training. My training includes a variety of functional exercises that are progressed and monitored with emphasis on safety while producing maximal results.

I injured my left knee so I was looking for a nearby facility that offered strength training with a physical therapy focus. This was very important to me in order to ensure proper form when starting to working out again and to have the on-site expertise to prevent further aggravation of my knee issues. While searching the internet late one night, I found Elite. I called the next day and made an appointment with Dave. At my consultation, a thorough strength, mobility and health assessment was performed. Since January, I have been strength training twice a week with Adriene and it was the best decision I've made! Adriene is very attentive to my form and challenges me (but in a safe way) during my sessions which I love! A few years ago I tore my meniscus in my left knee. I had surgery to repair the damage. A year later I tore the meniscus in my right knee and once again I needed surgery. I completed physical therapy after each surgery and had high expectations that I would return to my normal exercise routine and daily life activities. Unfortunately the surgeries did not meet my high expectations. Both knees continued to stiffen and pain had become my norm. Needless to say I became increasingly frustrated and discouraged. I am a 57 year old grandmother of two small boys and always wanted to play an active role in my grandchildrens lives. With my knees being the way they were I began to think my "good days" were now behind me. A friend offered some advice and told me I could purchase a supplement called Glucosamine from my local neighborhood store. Feeling desperate i bought a bottle of what I now know was "useless" and had very little improvement.

After listening to my history, Dr. Trumbore introduced me to a supplement regimen. More specifically he advised me to take a combination of supplements for my knees. After only one week I noticed significant improvement. The stiffness and pain felt as if it were fading away and I no longer had these two debilitating issues. Personal training with Dr. Dave has literally been life altering!

I am in my early 60s and was becoming frustrated. I played multiple sports in high school and college and continued playing recreationally. However, I found myself starting to “wind down”. My fitness level had deteriorated, I could no longer run, I had gained weight and would frequently get injured. I was at the point where I reluctantly was about to accept my fate and stop playing basketball.

I had a neck and knee injury which connected me with Dr. Dave for rehabilitation. After my physical therapy, we started intensive personal training three times a week. Our first visit was a comprehensive evaluation followed by mutual goal setting and then a prescribed individual program.

We have been training together three times a week and the results have been amazing! I have lost weight, improved my fitness levels tremendously, gained flexibility, improved muscular strength (especially my core) and can run again. Perhaps most importantly, I have resumed playing competitive basketball.

I’ve had personal training in the past but my training with Dr. Dave is unique and unlike anything else I have experienced. He combines his knowledge of physical therapy, anatomy, exercise science and 3 decades of experience to prescribe, monitor and advance the most effective individualized training programs. My programs are ever-changing so my progress does not become stagnant.

I can’t recommend training with him enough!

I cannot love and recommend this office any more than I already do. I appreciate the positivity, hard work, and the ethical and moral values these guys have. They are not here to misguide you.

I have been through multiple personal trainers at different gyms prior to this and always felt like my trainers were not listening to me and what my goals were. I have changed trainers over the years and that didn’t change much. Personal training at a physical therapy office is not like personal training at a gym. I have had to go through physical therapy off and on due to bulging disc issues after having my first child and would never go to anyone other than Dr. Trumbore. Following up after therapy, I started personal training with Adrienne and for the first time I have a trainer who is interested in my goals and is training me accordingly.

I am 21 weeks pregnant and he modifies my plan as needed as my pregnancy is progressing. He explains the reasoning behind each exercise and why we are doing it and how it helps my particular situation, which I love because I have a better understanding of what we are doing. He is very encouraging. There are days I walks in to my session dragging my feet because of extreme exhaustion, but I always feel great when I start exercising with Adrienne. We listen to great music.

The environment is very relaxing unlike being at a gym. Now especially with the pandemic I feel comfortable going here because he is constantly wiping down surfaces that I touch. We both wear masks and I know they take all the precautions they can take to keep their clients protected. If you are looking to get something out of your time, money and effort call them! You will not regret it.
