Ellen's energy and enthusiasm are great motivators, so I get an extra push to work hard. She explains very clearly what she wants me to do and keeps checking me to be sure I'm doing each move correctly. I feel happy, proud and strong after each session.

I am 56 years old, I had spinal fusion, and I am riddled with arthritis throughout my body.  I have been reluctant to work out since my spinal fusion for fear of injuring myself further.  I initially did physical therapy but wanted to find an in-home personal trainer who understood my limitations but offered more than physical therapy did.  Not easy to find.  I came across a lot of Boot camp/HIIT type trainers, trainers who sounded like drill sergeants, and virtual-only trainers.  Definitely not what I was looking for.  No one met my exact criteria until I came across Ellen.  I was so impressed by her bio/credentials.  It sounded like she was a perfect fit for me and the goals I wanted to achieve.  I was impressed by what I read about Ellen, but I was even more impressed when I met her in person.  She is everything I was hoping for.  Ellen is just the right mix of compassion, motivation and expertise.  Ellen took the fear out of working out and made it something I look forward to.  I only wish I would have contacted her sooner.  Thanks, Ellen!

Ellen and I grew up together and after I received a medical diagnosis in the spring, connecting with her was a no brainer. I’m so glad I did! We have great workouts and she pushes me to do exercises that I never thought I could ever do. My flexibility has become better and better with each session and I feel stronger as well. If you’re thinking about a trainer you should definitely call Ellen! She’s amazing and extremely credentialed knowledgable and experienced. I started working with her over the summer and I’m already much stronger. I needed a seasoned trainer to help work around a shoulder injury and chronic vertigo. She has so many creative options for every scenario - it’s never boring and no two workouts are alike. She’s a really good listener, motivating and driving as appropriate. We even laugh and have some fun. You can’t go wrong with Ellen- and you can trust her to help you work out safely - especially if you’re 50+. In my experience, brand new trainers can be full of energy and enthusiasm but may not understand some physical limitations. Ellen gets it. She’s positive and loves what she does. Good luck!

I started working with Ellen in February. Just turning 64, I was starting to feel old! I worried about my flexibility and strength … plus I had a vacation scheduled which I knew I would need to be in good shape. Over the years I had joined gyms and taken classes. But the same thing always happened … I would start with good intentions and then stop going. I eventually learned that classes were not my thing. A good friend suggested Ellen … and I am now indebted to that friend. Ellen assessed my capabilities and we progressed from there … starting slow and then building each week, working on strengthening my core, toning my arms and legs and working in some cardio. She keeps me motivated, pushes me when I need it, and varies each session so I do not get bored. We also talk about healthy eating and ways for me to continue to engage my body during the week. Her mantra of “be mindful” works!
Ellen is extremely knowledgeable and always makes sure my form is correct so I do not injure myself. She is professional, personable and caring – and continuously tailors the workouts to my needs.
After just 6 months I can feel the change. I have more energy, my body feels and looks stronger, and I am more confident in the way I feel. As an added plus, I have dropped 5 pounds!

2-13-24 I have continued my work out with Ellen for a full year. I have beome more muscular and physically fit. An added benefit is that my lipid panel was much improved after only one year. One hour with Ellen is time well spent, she is very focused, we get right to work, and the time flies by because we have lots of fun.
November, 2023 I have been working with Ellen Bari as a personal trainer after she was highly recommended by a good friend. Ellen assesses the needs of her clients very carefully, she is a very good listener and provides an age appropriate workout. Our hour together flies by because she is very creative with my workout session, whether we are working on cardio, abs, arms, legs or strength training. She varies what we do which keeps me motivated, all while listening to music. When I am finished, I feel taller, more limber and stronger. Ellen is very punctual, as soon as she arrives we begin. She is very kind and caring and has never left my home without being sure that I stretch. Thank you Ellen, I would recommend you to anyone of any age.

I have been working with Ellen for almost 2 years. Our activities include balance exercises, flexibility and body conditioning, mat practice incorporating crunches and rising from the floor, and instruction on the machines in the fitness room in my apartment building.

Ellen is easy to work with. When she notices a skill that needs practice she devises exercises that focus on it. She puts me in her group she calls "Super Seniors" because of my age (88).

I look forward to our sessions and the feeling of increased ability in daily activities.

Fantastic trainer and nutritionist. I’ve been with her for many years and she really knows her stuff. I have become significantly stronger and much more flexible as the result of my sessions with her. I am 75 years old and couldn’t get up easily from a sitting position; now I just get up without any effort. I also employ her as my nutritionist. She guided me sensibly using a healthy, nutritious diet and the pounds came off without starving or craving. She is highly credentialed and educated in both fitness and nutrition. She’s the real deal and I recommend her highly.

I could not be more delighted with the rapid progress I am making in recovering physical fitness with Ellen as trainer. She is outstanding at listening to one's issues and adjusting her routine to optimize my training. In each bi-weekly 1 hr training session, she covers stretching/flexibility, cardio and strength exercises in an age-appropriate manner that does not endanger or exhaust. Rather her program challenges and stimulates the body to gain significant fitness with each session. Her expertise in anatomy, and a multitude of exercise routines certainly shows in her tailored approach.

I'm excited to be exercising regularly again after leaving the gym due to Covid. Ellen is vaccinated and boosted and I feel safe with her. Since January 4 my husband and I have had sessions twice a week with Ellen and she hasn't repeated herself once. In 8 sessions my balance has improved to the point that I can stand on one leg in the shower to soap up my legs and to dry my legs. Before Ellen I had to brace myself on the shower wall. Wonderful!!

I’ve worked with Ellen for a while now and I can’t say enough good things about her. I’m in my late 50’s and I suffer with chronic lower back and neck pain. Ellen has really helped me find a workout routine that works for me. She’s very knowledgeable about which exercises are good for me and has taught me to always think about my posture. I have known Ellen Regenbogen for many years on a personal and business basis. She was my personal fitness instructor for several years and I found her to be an excellent trainer, able to design customized exercise regimes and very knowledgeable abut the mechanics of the body. She has a very nice personal touch and demeanor and does not push clients too hard. I highly recommend Ellen and note that she is a certified health and fitness instructor, certified master trainer and has the ability to work with older clients as part of her Silver Sneakers background.

Ellen has been training me for several years on and off. The off is because of me. :) I recently started up with Ellen again, and already my entire body is feeling so much better. She adapts our weekly in-home training sessions to cover the upper, middle, and lower body. We use weights, bands, balls, and all of the in-home equipment that I have. Training with Ellen is NOT a burden; in fact, I look forward to it because I feel so good afterward. She is patient when needed and challenging when needed.
