Favorite gym I've ever been to. It has everything I need as a person who does every type of fitness. There's endless cardio machines, which makes it feel family friendly. But it also has a ton of benches, squat racks, and other heavy lifter equipment that will appease serious lifters.

Been going too this gym for almost 6 months now and it's pretty much a lingerie place more then a gym with how these women dress in here I've complained about it a few times with how I've seen women's private parts because of their clothing choice and it's uncomfortable for me when I go there to workout I don't want to see that type of stuff when I'm paying for a gym membership every single month!!!

This gym is a standout for anyone focused on strength training. It’s packed with a wide range of weightlifting equipment — racks, machines, free weights, and specialty gear. Cardio options are available but secondary, which suits the vibe perfectly.

The atmosphere is friendly and non-intimidating. Best of all, it’s truly 24/7 — no limited hours or surprises. Great gym with a personal touch! Super clean, nice equipment/layout, and awesome staff.

My wife and I recently joined and the staff was great. They showed us around and are super inviting and helpful. The owners happen to be there and they also personally welcomed us.

We got setup with their app which is very impressive. It contains a nutrition tracker, workout plans w/ videos, class scheduling, and lots of other cool features.

We especially appreciated the layout of the gym. Even when the parking lot is full it doesn't feel crowded inside. And even if one or two pieces of equipment are being used there are multiple alternatives. Some of the machines are very unique and effective. The turf section is great for sled pushes, walking lunges, or other training that requires more space. There's even a dedicated stretching area.

We also liked how the drinking fountains are in just the right places and the bathrooms are clean and offer showers, lockers, and tanning. There's also saunas, massage chairs, multiple different classes, physical therapy, ect...

The pricing is very competitive for what you get! I think it's a great value and we highly recommend Erie Fitness NOW.

Was visiting family in the area and was very impressed by the facility and staff. They have the mentality of a family owned business which contrasts with bigger corporations (appreciate them as well because of the great things they offer being more nationally present). Andrea and Doug at the front desk were incredibly welcoming and accommodating. They reviewed amenities with me. I purchased a day pass which was $20 and it was money well spent. TRX bands available if needed and an area to stretch and do floor mat exercises. The facility is very clean and well equipped with plenty of cardio machines, weight assisted machines including a Smith machine. Plenty of squat racks and room to use free weights. The locker rooms were spacious and there are shower stalls for those who need to clean up before heading out. The staff mentioned massage opportunities and individual saunas which I didn't have the opportunity to try that was also offered with the day pass. Overall a great experience and highly recommend for locals and those stopping in Erie.

I liked the gym when it was Iron Oxygen. The recent renovations make it so cramped. The TRX was moved into the space that costs extra to use. The replacement TRX has restricted space to be used in. I wish I didn't pay for a year's membership 2 months ago.

I was a member of this facility for well over a decade. Long b4 it was Erie Fitness. I loved the facility, equipment, & amenities. & most of the ppl that worked there were awesome. I kept my membership thru yrs of none use. Starting with Covid. Then my wife’s cancer, & overloaded work schedules & medical issues I had. Finally my card that paid the membership expired. At about that time I was forced to put my father into a home, and try to help my mom who lives over an hour away. I also had to schedule a pretty major shoulder surgery for myself. I got a notice for a nonpayment on the membership so I called them and told them to cancel because I wasn’t sure when or if I could start back at the gym. They gave me the sales pitch of coming down & putting my membership on hold. I tried to explain that I was at a point that I didn’t know when or if I could return. I told them to cancel it and they insisted I had to come down in person. I knew they had no valid cc info so I didn’t go because I told them to cancel it.
As I sit here today after having to take away my mom’s checkbook and take over yet another task, I get calls from a collection agency because Erie Fitness expects me to pay for an outstanding balance they charged after I told them to cancel my membership that I hadn’t used in a while.
Clearly Erie Fitness has not carried over the customer service, & personal or “community” service it offered when I joined under the original owners.
Apparently Erie Fitness has chosen the more sterile, cold, uncaring corporate approach so popular among those companies more focused on the bottom dollar than actual care for those they should have a connection to, and a mutual respect for, in their community.
It’s a sad situation. Now that I have been forced to retire due to the upcoming surgery and more importantly, the time I have to dedicate to the care of my elderly parents, including getting my father out of the facility he’s in and get him the care he needs and deserves in his own home, so mom & dad can have their final chapter together. (After 62yrs together, they’ve earned it). I had the hope of returning to this place and try to recapture what I could of the lifestyle I once knew there.
But I will probably not be welcome there and I’m not sure I’d be comfortable in a place where I’m not a person or a member of a community, I’m just a number and a payment.
So for their cold , sterile , corporate attempt to leech the last drop they could, I gave them the one star review.

The gym is freezing. Turn up the heat! Additional equipment is not going to keep members from joining Crunch if you don’t properly heat the facility. Poorly managed.

Update 2/9/25: The heat was never repaired, and the workout areas are clearly affected. It was 57.6° today in the workout areas. Get it fixed.

You name it, they have it, and then some! Such a variety of options for strength training, it takes a while to observe and retain all the possibilities available.

(Jan 2025) Need to add to my former review: the new massage chairs are the best I have found. Massage functionality extremely versatile(second to none), height accommodating, and generous 30 minutes sessions, versus the typical 10-15 min (teasers).
The recent heat issue is definitely a one-off (and a very common syndrome in this area, during the blizzard. MANY rooftop units were damaged, and part-delivery took forever). The temperature in this facility is always perfect. You know this when you always strive for 110%, and any slight deviations are more than noticeable. In addition, personally lab-tested the air environment (for personal reasons) and the results came back beyond exceptional. Try finding that in any flat-roof, commercial structure. Very difficult, unless you want to spend all day in Wegmans.
The amount of additional equipment and renovations is nothing short of outstanding, especially when you consider all the big-box chains that have moved into the area. Now with the Sauna’s, nothing more one could ask for. Best part – supporting a locally-owned business. Always look to locally-owned first. $67 cents of every dollars stays in the community, which is a benefit that returns directly to you, by reinvesting in the area you live.

This gym is incredible! It’s always clean, the equipment is modern and brand new, and the whole place has such a great vibe. I’ve been working with my coach here for almost a year and a half, and it’s honestly been life-changing. Prices were raised to $30 a month without any type of notice. Newly added saunas can't be used without paying $35 a month. Gym renovations actually ended up making the gym smaller.

Water filter indicator has recently been disabled. Gross. Filters too expensive?

$5 smoothie shakes were removed entirely.

One time fee price has doubled.

Owner dangerously drives his hideous truck 40mph through the parking lot and parks in the fire lane regularly.

Money hungry and cost saving tactics are everywhere at this gym. Would not recommend.

Edit: Quit lying. The price after Covid was $25 a month. After Crunch opened, it was raised to $30 with no notice.

I've seen the water filter not be changed in several months at one point. The soap dispenser in the women's bathroom has been broken for over 6 months.

You may think the space is optimized but in reality it's way more cramped. An entire section of the gym has been removed in favor of classes that remain empty 90% of the day.

Multiple pick ups and drop offs are no excuse to dangerously speed through the parking lot and illegally park in a fire lane.

The smoothies were removed long before any type of renovations.

Erie Fitness is a well-maintained gym with a clean environment, thanks to the diligent staff. The equipment, whether machines or weights, is typically available when needed, making for a smooth workout experience.

CONS:
This is my first negative review, but I feel compelled to share my experience. I moved to South Carolina in August, and it's now nearly December, yet I haven't been able to cancel my subscription. Despite multiple attempts to contact the provided phone number and send emails, it's impossible to get a resolution—especially since I'm 1,000 miles away and can't cancel in person. I even reached out to upper management, leaving multiple voicemails and emails, but received no response. However, once I canceled my card, they began relentlessly calling until they got the payment. The way they've handled this situation is highly unprofessional, especially after being a loyal customer for over two years.

I just started here after 4 months of being sick. I go at night, and the employee who works the front desk is pretty awesome. The gym isn't typically crowded late at night, but on the rare occasion it is, the members are always super respectful. It's much appreciated coming from someone who's worked out at multiple different gyms over the years. I appreciate that I can go in and do what I need to, and people aren't playing on their phones or trying to get photos for Instagram. The equipment is also super beginner friendly and they have staff if you ever need help.

This is a great gym. They have three squat racks, one deadlift platform (but you can also dl in various areas), a big strip of turf and lots of fun stuff that the place across the street doesn't have. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable and the regulars are chill, never had a problem getting a spot.

It's a good mix of gym goers. No intimidation, freedom to do what you came to do. It isn't a powerlifting gym where people are slamming weights, but if you are going heavy and make some noise, no one is going to complain.

My biggest issue is ventilation, given how important ventilation is to health. They have a large fan and lots of small fans and I strongly feel these should be running year round (in winter, they aren't running). They help push the heat where you want it, so I don't think it would increase utility costs.

Smaller issue is general cleanliness and maintenance. A deep clean on the water fountains, cleaning stations, etc. every couple months and tightening up screws (squat rack closest to the desk always had loose screws I would tighten with my fingers), fixing the tapcon anchors (which are way too thin!), etc. Nothing on this front that was all that bad (I never used the showers, so no comment there).

So, unless your favorite colors are purple and yellow and you hate barbells and fun, Erie Fitness Now is probably the gym for you!

P.S. I see a lot of people complaining about the cancellation policy. The staff very clearly explained the policy and it is straightforward and simple. I cancelled after five months (I only do gym in the winter) with no issues.

Been going here for a couple years since it was still Iron Oxygen. Probably the most affordable gym in Erie that doesn’t sacrifice quality. I go in the mornings and it’s never too busy to get the equipment I need. The people are extremely friendly- both employees and attendees. The only things I wish the gym had were a (free) sauna, one of those ladder climbing machines, and a rope to climb. But it honestly has all the important machines and more than I could ever possibly use. You really can’t go wrong with EFN.

I was new to working in the area and looking for a good gym to join that was on my way to work, they had their 50% sale on memberships so I set up an appointment with them to get signed up. At my first encounter I ended up signing up for personal training and the monthly membership. It was a must that I come in the very next Saturday morning (I live 1 hour away) to set up goals and make a plan with a trainer. I did just that, came in and the trainer just started doing a workout, there was never any discussion of goals, restrictions, or anything of that nature. I forgave that situation and continued to show up to do the workouts that were in my app to follow. It came to the day to workout with "my" trainer that was different than my first day. He follows the app and is unsure on why said workouts are in the app and obviously I don't know. He improvises and we workout, which went great. Next time comes to workout with trainer and no shows. Next time - happens again, I decide to cancel. Needless to say, when I cancelled, I was ready to be done. Nope, still have to pay for all the personal training sessions I signed up for in the beginning (which I received ONE session), monthly memberships, AND the yearly membership even though I had not even been a "member" a whole month. For the over $400 I have given this gym, I would absolutely NEVER recommend this place to anyone. & to top it all off their customer service is awful.

Disappointing Decline: A Review of Erie Now Fitness

I used to frequent ERIE Now Fitness despite its subpar equipment because of the outstanding customer service. However, my recent experiences have been nothing short of disappointing. The once commendable customer service has now plummeted to the lowest of lows, matching the dismal quality of their equipment.

From unresponsive staff to rude interactions, the atmosphere at ERIE Now Fitness has shifted from welcoming to hostile. It's disheartening to witness such a decline in customer care, especially when it was once the main reason for choosing this gym over others.

Furthermore, the already lackluster equipment hasn't seen any improvement, making the overall gym experience even more dismal. Broken machines, outdated facilities, and a general lack of maintenance add to the frustration of dealing with the appalling customer service.

In conclusion, ERIE Now Fitness has failed to uphold its reputation for exceptional customer service. Coupled with the inadequate quality of equipment, it's no longer worth the time or money to patronize this establishment.

canceled my membership including training membership and they are still charging me for trainer even though the front desk team when asked multiple times first on the phone then in person when i went to pick my lock up told me that my last training payment would be the one that was scheduled to come out in a couple of days. now i am being charged again and they are refusing to put it back into my account even though their contract states that it has to be canceled in a 15 day period which it was. today is day 21 of me canceling the membership but they said it falls in that 15 day window. Also this gym is TERRIBLE when it comes to their child care. they lost my child and had no idea she even got out of the room. i found her and
at that point the front desk guy noticed her and came up to her as i noticed and said "is this yours?" never asked me to prove she was mine by asking for ID or asking to see her club card i could of been a stranger and said yes and walked away. All they gave me was a sorry we lost your kid hoodie and temporarily froze my account for a couple of months so i would keep quiet but when lily broadcasting took over they said it was done. they also temporarily put up a gate to block kids from getting to the door that people leave open all the time. then they got tired of it being in the way so for a while they only put it up when they saw my daughter i would hear the staff say my child is here so we need to put the gate up. so it can happen again to anyone's kid and next time they might not be so lucky. someone can easily kidnap their child or their child could get severely hurt. this is unacceptable I was too nice at the time to look for legal guidance. i have been angry about it ever since and lost trust in their child care. I did not like having to bring her as a single mom i had few options but i kept noticing the door being left open wheni was dropping off or picking up. and took note of the gate not being used or eventually used to keep the kids out of their computer area instead of trying to keep them safe inside the room.
Edit I would like to add I canceled my membership including training and locker on July 20th. my next billing date according to the agreement i have in my emails say my next payment was due the 22nd. you pay per training session now and i picked to have it billed every 2 weeks for the sessions I was using. if I canceled on the 20th and the next payment was the 22nd then there is absolutely no reason why their manager Paul tried gaslighting me on the phone saying that todays payment was in the 15 day cancellation window. that would mean my next payment if i didn't cancel was due on the 5th which is just being processed today on the 9th. either way the 5th was 17 days after the canceled membership and should not have been charged. this matter is currently being disputed with my bank and at this point legal council is being looked into for the previous issue. a review has also been sent to Erie news now so they know what kind of gym they are named after

I’ve been going to this gym since it was called Iron Oxygen. It’s one of the most affordable (especially if you’re a college student) and versatile gyms in Erie. Only downside is some of the equipment needs a revamp (which they are doing). I’m sure that will be subsided soon. Otherwise, the new team is doing fantastic work to improve the gym.

Bunch of slimeballs, or at least the employee by the name of Justin. Was assured multiple times there was no sort of contract and I could cancel whenever I want. Tried yesterday and I was informed there is a 30 day notice , which for 1 is garbage. For 2 , I am reasonable and see that it says that on their site, but I did not feel the need to even look, because I trusted that the employees hired weren't snakey salespeople

Since being a member for 3 years…. Since the upgrades it’s more organized HOWEVER, this is NOT a gym that enforces cleanliness and people WIPING OFF MACHINES AND WEIGHTS when their done. SO Come prepared to clean as you work out.

Terrible gym. Packed like a can of sardines. If you love wasting your time waiting around for equipment this is the perfect gym for you. Also, when you cancel you still have to pay ANOTHER month. You have to give them a 30 day notice for your cancellation LOL

For someone who has avoided gyms, I must say; my experience has been very positive and in the 2 free sessions learned how I want to proceed with my exercise program. Matt is an excellent coach/trainer. The staff is attentive and sincerely want to help you with your health. Keep up the good work! I’m looking forward to my program and progress!

Worst customer service in Erie county as far as gyms go, from management specifically. If you’re looking for a New Year’s resolution to start clean go anywhere else or will be trapped with uncooperative management. Tried to cancel my membership come to find out 8 months later it was put on a 30 day pause and not cancelled. They processed my card at the end of the year for more than my original start up price.

Leaving a 1 star review 100% based on the members there. No complaints about equipment or anything else. On vacation and stopped in twice over the weekend. Douche bag central. Never been to a gym where I am clearly using a piece of equipment and someone just comes over and starts taking plates off of it. And when I say I am using them he throws a little hissy fit and throws them on the floor. Been lifting for 15 years, never had that happen. Also for some reason everyone is wearing headphones and they get confused when you ask them if they are using something just to be polite. Also, everyone was squatting really incorrectly. Won’t be returning.

Tread mills have been regularly unavailable because so many of them are out of order. One stopped underneath me and almost threw me. Management said they were addressing the problem, but it's been going on for over a year. Seemed unconcerned about the problem. I quit the gym after 10 years. Still seemed unconcerned.

Edit: I'm glad to hear that you finally got new treadmills in. That might have been something you could have mentioned as I was filling out the form to quit the gym. Or, you know, maybe you could have ordered them a year ago when I brought the issue up to the staff a number of times. Unfortunately, better late than never isn't the true in this case.

On the plus side, for those of you reading this far, IO handled covid splendidly. Couldn't have done better under the circumstances. Kudos there.
