If you have some personal training sessions left over contact Vtrainers in Wayne PA. They may be able to honor a few of the remaining sessions. They have done that before with other facilities that have gone out of business

They are closing for good as of 2/28/19. I guess LA Fitness is the next closest gym in KOP

Went in for a class being taught by an outside instructor. Staff still treated us like members. Clean facility. Spacious locker rooms. Spin classes, squash courts.

Fairmount is a nice facility. Relatively clean and mostly friendly service. The equipment is nice overall but is not going to blow you away. If you shower and get cleaned up at the gym, they just redid some of the facilities and brought it up to a decent standard, there is also a sauna and steam that are nice. Ultimately with LA Fitness opening and many other options opening up such as the upper merion public community center its probably not something I will stay at longer than my contractual obligation which you can't really get out of and is 1 year long.

Ultimately Fairmount is a kids squash facility. You need to understand thats the big deal at this facility. I rarely see adults and many times there are hordes of kids running around playing squash and they also work out from time to time.

If you're looking to just go work out in a not so crowded environment then you get a big plus here as well. Fairmount is never crowded and no lunk heads. I rarely wait to get on a piece of equipment. They do have lots of pieces as well even if they aren't shiny new. Everything is maintained in working order for the most part (Pins always go missing and don't always get replaced)

My final note is another downer, Fairmount is not open 24/7 and the hours are just okay. Saturdays and Sundays they are open 8am-6pm...and childcare services are only offered on these days from 8am-noon. Plus you pay for the childcare - lump sum $4 or $5 bucks per kid I believe. Kids facilities aren't too bad though and the women there have always been nice.

All in all, it's a nice place to workout, but probably not worth traveling far to get too. If you work out at odds hours or are looking for flexible day care you're better off at a Y or LA Fitness or Planet Fitness.

Clean gym with minimal wear and tear on equipment. Steam room and sauna in the locker rooms along with free towel service are great amenities. Never crowded in mornings or during the lunch hour. Can't speak for evenings but the place is big enough to accommodate a lot of people. Sign up fee was a little steep but the "Prove It" membership offers a fair price for what you get (currently $26/month - May 2016). I work right down the road and would certainly recommend Fairmount to anyone looking to get a workout in before, during, or after work.

As a member of this club for years now, I appreciate the way the staff is so friendly and accommodating.
I enjoy the Yoga class with Kamini who offers a class on Monday ! I start my week off with a fantastic balancing experience for the work week.
The facility has everything you need to stay in shape plus a great atmosphere and environment.

I choose this facility because i was told that i can used the heavyweight bag for my boxing practice when no body is using it. i was clearly told that they can arrange the bag for practicing when no body is using coz of this i signed up for this club in 1st place coz there no other facilities that has bag in the gym.
after few days of my condition training i tried to request the bag for my practice and i was told by manager that i can't use the bag and that was a bit shocking to me coz he was bit rude and i tried to confront him explaining my purpose of joining this gym and conversation i had with Brain (Who set me up for membership) i was totally shocked because using a heavy weight bag was the reason i signed up for membership and driving all the way 6 miles from my location. finally i was told that they can certainly make an arrangements for that because i said i'm going to cancel the membership.but after few days there was no response and again started saying the same thing about using bag.
finally i thought i had enough of this rollercoaster and decided to cancel but i took me a long time to cancel because of their non supportive and non responsive kind of behavior.
Finally i got cancelled and i had a bill to settle with them and i was trying to contact them 8 to 9 times but their is no response even i went to the location but they keep on drawing this and now its been 2+ months there is no response from them, i really don't know what to do any suggestion or any one can help me on this ?
People i spoke to is brain, Mike any suggestion on how to get response will be appreciate.

The gym is very nice and is priced well for what you get. Recent renovations have made it that much better with mat material instead of carpeting in the cardio area. My only complaint is that a majority of the lockers in the locker room are smaller (half height) and large lockers become a commodity and it can get cramped in the locker room.

The facilities are nice, classes are great, squash is amazing but the $26/month "Prove It" program is a bit of a scam. Essentially, you need to attend the gym 16 days a month, which is fine except the scanner doesn't record your day half the time. So even if you attend 20 times a month, it will say you only attended 12-15 and charge you $52 for that month. You're better off taking the $42/month with no attendance requirements, in the long run it will save you money.
