I've known Darrell for nearly as long as I've lived in Kennett Square. He is a passionate guy and has been through a lot of life changes/experiences that he is always happy to share with his clients. He has knowledge of the human body and it's function like no other person I've met. He integrates spirituality and some unique approaches to his coaching. Working with Daz has been absolutely life changing! When I started working with him I was in bad shape physically and mentally. Herniated discs, spinal fractures, autoimmune disease, tons of inflammation and constant, daily pain. I’m recovering from trauma and years of living stressed out, overworked and spread too thin. I also sustained a head injury in a car accident, which dramatically shifted all aspects of my executive functioning and ability to regulate my nervous system. Sooo basically I walked in 6 months ago a bit of a hot mess.
We started with breathwork and discussions around re-connecting me to my body. If we are not connected to our bodies, we can’t feel the signals it's sending us. If we can’t feel the signals it's sending us, we can’t move in ways that support ourselves. If our body isn’t being heard, it will find a way to let us know what it wants and needs, but that’s usually after creating dysfunctional movement patterns and ending up in debilitating pain, like me. I knew breathwork was beneficial, but I was admittedly anxious to get to the movement part, fix me already!
Well the breathwork has done sooo much more “fixing” than I ever imagined possible. After just a few sessions I had a clear image of how my body felt on the inside AND changes I needed to make in my life to dial down the stress and create more emotional harmony. We started bodywork after about a month. He approaches the body in a fundamentally different way than anything I’ve ever seen and I’ve worked with numerous orthopedists, physical therapists and personal trainers. His movement “exercises” are dynamic rather than mostly static and wow what a difference! I only last about 20 minutes and I’m seeing major progress for such little time investment. We still spend the majority of our sessions doing breathwork over movement and I’m totally on board with that!
Here’s what I’ve achieved in just 6 months: lower stress levels, more laughter and play in my personal life, released LOTS of stored emotions wreaking havoc, a clearer, more grounded sense of self. Physically my hips, shoulders and ribcage are rotating back where they belong, giving me more range of motion, less pain and sustainable movement patterns that I can begin to load (finally). My dancer toes are even moving back in place, which I NEVER believed would happen!
Not only is Daz extremely technically knowledgeable, his personality and demeanor make him such a pleasure to work with. He’s patient, calm and supportive because he “gets it”. His ability to be completely present with each client is truly special. There’s an emotional component to physical healing and Daz handles it with grace and laughter. NO matter what state I walk in with, I always walk out feeling calmer, happier and more at peace. Five stars I highly recommend working with him!

Fit to Move ! I was looking for something better than the local physical therapist and I found Dazza who took me on a journey for the past 6 Months 3 times a week. He thought me how to practice the Wim Hof breath technic and biomechanics + introduced me to the primal diet who fitted me just perfectly ! I dropped 20 pounds in just 2 months and half listening to Coach Dazza (Darrel) and showing up for myself and then became a Certified Fitness Trainer. I am ready to be part of the Fit to move team ! I took an evening yoga class with Fabienne here and had a great experience. She did a wonderful job focusing the small class on her voice and the practice, getting us in the zone while there were other things going on in the studio. A good workout and an effective moment of relaxation. I would definitely check out their personal training - seemed like friendly and knowledgeable staff and a cool environment.

Darrell has been coaching me on breath work techniques and body work for the last few months. I was very hesitant to try his routines since I was already set in my mind on the best ways to move, exercise and care for my body. After a few interactions I knew that I would be learning a lot from Darrell. The breathing routines have been like nothing I could describe! To lay on the floor and “just breathe” seems too easy but I find myself feeling better mentally and physically afterwards. I’m 56 with severe arthritis in both knees - tried shots, gel, pills and nothing relieved the pain. I felt helpless until I met Dazza. He gave me hope and told me I was fixable. I’ve been seeing him for 5 weeks now and this morning I woke up without the excruciating pain that I’ve been accustomed to for the past few years. Still have a long way to go and there’s no one else I would trust to work with my body. He knows and understands so much. As an avid hiker, runner and gym nut, 3 years of knee pain (one year of it quite severe) was devastating. . Ortho wanted me to get gel injections or cortisol injections.
I’ve been training and learning with Darrell now for about 3 weeks and I’m almost pain free and even did a 5 mile hike last weekend. I would recommend him to anyone! If you experience discomfort or pain while moving or exercising, don’t hesitate to get a free evaluation with him. He has extensive knowledge to get your body moving the right way again. Don’t wait!

I would highly recommend fit to move to anyone it is a life changing place your mind and body will be reconnected. I learned of Daz and Fit to Move from a friend a few years ago. Only regret I have is not starting sooner. I’ve been going to Daz for about 2 months now and it has literally been life changing for me in so many ways. I currently weight train and recently injured my teres minor that ached me for months before I came to Fit to Move. With myofascial release and corrective movement exercises Daz had me feeling better and pain free within the first two weeks. Fit to move isn’t just a place to fix poor movement patterns and injuries, it’s a family, a community, a God send really. When I started a month ago I was moving around the space in my wheelchair. This week I left my scooter outside and walked around with my cane. I could barely move my right arm when I started. It took a lot of slow stretching and waking up muscles I haven't used in years but with Daz's help I am able to lift my arm half way up now and it won't be long before I have full movement back.
I was supposed to have hip surgery to replace my right hip but with Daz showing me just a few exercises it doesn't hurt as much and like I said I am using my cane more. I talked to my doctor and he agreed with me that we can hold off on the surgery. I am breathing much better than I have in a long time and haven't used my inhaler one time in the past month. I am discovering muscles in my back I never knew where there. I am so much more comfortable on my trike and can ride for a long time without having to stop and stretch my legs, back, and neck. Driving is fun again like when i first got my license. I feel great and am excited to go to my appointments every week. Daz and Dom are great guys and a lot of fun to work with. Daz in very knowledgeable about the body and how it should move and how to help my body do what it is supposed to do. It is a long process and Daz is very good at reminding you that it will take time and it will be a lot of work. The benefits of following his directions and taking it nice and slow and doing the work is well worth it.
I have had six surgeries over the years on my ankles and knee. I had to go to physical therapy after each surgery. Going to Fit To Move is much better than any pt I have ever been to. I told Daz when I started what I needed help with. He works on my whole body where when I went to pt they only work on the joint I had surgery on. The body is all connected and Daz works on everything from head to toe while also making sure it ties into the area I am having trouble with. I would highly recommend going to Fit To Move and working with Daz and Dom to get moving the way your body is supposed to move and feel a lot better.

I discovered “Fit to Move” after 10 months of PT for degenerative knee pain that did not get me back to playing tennis pain free. After 2.5 months of learning to breathe, move and do the work to correct hip, knee, foot alignment, I am back to playing tennis pain free, and have learned so much more.

I’ve been working with Darrell for a month now, and I sought out someone with his expertise and approach to fitness. I do crossfit, ride and have a physically demanding job with horses and I started working Darrell because of a weird sharp pain I kept getting in my upper arm/shoulder area. Coach Daz looked me over and was able to identify my scapula problem, explain in detail what my body was doing and how we would fix then correct the issue. I started working with Darryl to resolve some persistent hip and shoulder issues that were limiting my workouts in other areas. I was looking at shoulder surgery for my rotator cuff. Three months later I have full range of motion in my shoulder with no surgery and my hips are so much more stable and functional. My riding (horses - dressage) and rowing have both improved. As a 59 year old female athlete it is so satisfying to see the positive changes in just a few months. And after the hard work, the percussion massage is a great reward and a key part of the recovery!

Coach Daz has plenty of knowledge in body mechanics to help your mobility to improve your strength training. He has helped me so much and many of my other horse riding and training friends and family. I couldnt do a proper squat and within 2 months completely transformed how I moved in them as well as my scapular rotation and rombiod strengthening. I’ve been going to Darrell for a few months now. As an equestrian I knew I needed more mobility and strength to be able to ride my horse better. When I first started with Coach Dazz my shoulders and hips had very little mobility and I really had little strength. After just a few months I now have almost full mobility of my shoulders, quite a bit more mobility in my hips and starting to build strength. Darrell brings a vast array of knowledge and a fun atmosphere to every session.
