Our inviting personal training studio offers a warm, relaxed environment offering 1 on 1 time with a trainer to work towards your fitness goals. Every client journey begins with a complimentary consultation where you’ll speak with a personal trainer to discuss your fitness, health and wellness goals. I have been training at Fitness at 5 East since 2015. I’ve had seasons of fitness, injury, and illness. Joe and George have crafted programs for me to stay active during all phases of my life, ensuring I can stay as healthy as possible. I wanted to update this review, as I just completed my first Sprint Triathlon after years of struggling with numerous injuries. Joe, Keith, Emily, and Amy are second to none. Joe helped prepare me with a bespoke training program that enabled me to go from being, basically sedentary, to completing Escape the Cape in 6 months. Whatever your fitness goal, this is the place for you!

Keith is a delight to be around and a very knowledgeable trainer. I look forward to my workouts each week. I have seen more progress working out with him 2 days a week than I have ever seen going to the gym 5 days a week on my own. He ensures that my technique is always correct to avoid any injuries. If you are looking for a great place to have dynamic and strengthening workouts, this is it. The instructor does a great job, and can set you up with a workout that fits your needs and goals. The plentiful variety of equipment and knowledge of the instructor allows you to develop a personalized and effective workout. Not only will the instructor lead you through a workout on site, but he can also set you up with a great workout schedule for at home in between sessions, no matter your fitness level or owned equipment. Joe and George are the best! I worked with Joe for almost two years. He tailored a twice a week workout plan for me to help address my goals and made adjustments as I progressed. He worked up nutritional targets for me, answered all my questions and provided tons of great feedback on meal planning and prep options. I made overall lifestyle adjustments that I still follow now. Fitness at 5 East is a great place to work out. I have been doing personal training sessions with this gym for almost 2 years. The owner, George, switches my program up to keep it interesting. He knows when to push me harder and when to help me out a little. I can always feel the workout in my muscles the next day, but never so sore that I'm actually hurt. Injury was always a concern of mine when working out on my own because I am a nurse and a mom. I need to be able to function at work and I have 3 active boys at home. His expertise in personal training have been just what I need to stay fit and to acheive that safely. I couldnt even do one "girlie" pushup when I walked into his gym and carrying the laundry basket up the stairs was hard. These things eventually got easier. I can only train once a week, but it's just enough to keep me accountable and motivated to stay fit the rest of the week on my own! The gym is clean, the atmosphere is relaxed and the conversation is always enjoyable. If you are considering working out but don't know where to start, or if big gyms with lots of people intimidate you, definitely talk to George. He has a few trainers working with him as well that are phenomenal and he would design a personal workout plan that will work for you!

I'm a senior who started at 5E after finishing rehab for a broken leg. I needed to continue therapy and my ortho doc suggested I hire a personal trainer. The team at 5E exceeded my expectations. I feel better than I have in years with increased strength and endurance. I also lost weight, which was a great bonus. Been going to George for a couple years now and as a professional basketball player in Europe I really had certain criteria that I needed met that I couldn’t and hadn’t got from other trainers. George made personalized work outs that didn’t just keep me in shape but elevated my game so I could come back after the off-season and outshine my opponents. I have been working out at Fitness at 5 East for about the last 8 years. I admit that I tried working out on my own before and have belonged to several other gyms but it was always something I never really looked forward (actually dreaded if I am being completely honest). However, when I work out with George, Joe or Keith, now I actually look forward to my work-outs. They are all fun and interesting to talk so it feels more like a therapy session where I laugh and vent and by the time my hour is up, I find that I completely forgot why I was there and that I was actually enjoyed working out. In addition to the great staff that provides excellent, customized one-to-one training, the gym is a bright, extremely clean, well-maintained, and well-equipped space. If you are looking to give personal training a try, look no further - this place is truly the best!

I have been going to Fitness at 5E for 9 years. I started out with knee mobility issues and George has tweaked my program over the years that I’ve been pretty much pain free and can live do things I love to do. George has an excellent understanding of the physiology of why you do the exercises and in what order and how they help you in day to day life and explains them in ways lay people understand. The atmosphere of one on one training is very nice and personal and I can’t ever see myself going back to a crowded gym. For a while my 80+ yo Mom went to keep herself able to move about. I started training with George in 2016 for bridal fitness before my wedding. He did a great job getting me toned and fit! I have been training two times a week at Fitness At 5 East sine 2018. The training programs are individualized at this studio gym. My personal trainer, Joe, makes adjustments to suit my energy level and physical condition of that day. He’s great to work with! Personable and knowledgeable. He motivates and pushes me through out the personal training sessions. I highly recommend him. Now, let’s discuss the facility. This is not one of those big-box gyms where you sign a personal training term-contract. There’s no long term contract required. Fitness At 5 East is located on the first floor of an old house with beautiful hard wood floor and a pocket slider door. However, this old house is loaded with serious gym equipments - treadmill, elliptical machine, rowers, weightlifting machines, strength trainer, free weights, dumbbells, weight benches, leg press,…etc. Since each trainer trains with one client at a time, the studio is never crowded. You will have dedicated attention from your personal trainer and access to the state of the art equipment at Fitness At 5 East.

Working out at 5E has changed my life!! I went from fad diet to starving myself to binge eating candy and back again in a vicious loop for 5 years or so and decided it was time for a true lifestyle change. I called 5E and met with George for a free consultation and was immediately impressed by his services and his businesses down to earth real life approach that just made sense— and worked ! 6 months later and I am almost down 20 pounds with the priceless help of two sessions a week. The facility is spotless and inviting. I wouldn’t have been able to get these results working out at a gym as I had tried and tried. 5E is worth double their extremely reasonable fee and if you want to finally make the change in the new year I couldn’t recommend calling them enough.
