I am 75 and have been with Forma and Mark for over 4 years now. I initially went to them because I had an inoperable rotator cuff tear, which is no longer an issue because of the training I received. I am primarily trained by Mark, although I see the work that Karen and Ed do for their clients. I keep getting stronger, have more stamina and greater balance and mobility. You are trained at your own pace and they are sensitive to any issues you may be having and work around them. I'm diabetic; so they monitor my blood sugar regularly and insure that I don't have a low blood sugar episode. I wholehearted recommend Mark and company to improve your fitness!

Working with Ed at Forma has been truly amazing. He has been extremely flexible, working with me both over zoom and in person. He always makes the session engaging and fun but still challenging. Overall, Forma has been excellent at helping me train.
Edit: Two years later and I'm still going strong. I've increased my workout time and I've been seeing real steady improvements in my strength. They have continued to offer great service at reasonable prices and have an atmosphere that really encourages you to try your hardest without feeling pressure to push too far. I continue to highly recommend Forma.

I truly never thought I would be leaving such a glowing, positive review of an establishment, but here I find myself, ready to rave about Forma.
I’ve had the luxury of working out at Forma since February 2024 at the rate of two times a week. As of the time of writing this review, I have lost approximately 23 lbs through a combination of working out & healthier eating/decision making. I have also gained way more muscle than I've had in quite a long time and the results are truly night and day from where I was in February. I have had the pleasure of working with Cory during my time at Forma and I could not have asked for a better personal trainer, in terms of both keeping me accountable every step of the way, as well as maintaining an incredibly positive attitude/demeanor. He is always willing to answer any and all of my questions & is incredibly quick to respond should I need to ask him something (be it a question I forgot to ask or to reschedule a session). That being said, I have interacted with every member of the Forma team at least once during my brief time and I can confidently say that every member of the team is just as professional, courteous and dedicated as Cory.
The studio itself is always immaculate, regardless of the weather, which is a true pleasure to see after having had several experiences at chain gyms (e.g., LA Fitness) being way less than perfect in terms of hygiene. Be it rain, snow, or shine, I have never once worried that the studio will be well-maintained. This level of cleanliness and "critical eye" extends to the equipment as well; there is not a single piece of training equipment used that is not fully functional and does not operate without issue.
Before my time spent at Forma, I'd only ever worked out at big-name chain gyms and had never used a personal trainer whatsoever. The personalized experience that Forma offers resonates with me much more than I thought it would & was absolutely what I needed to really feel like I wanted to continue and commit to a gym experience. I have had one of the most top tier experiences working with this fantastic group of folks and I cannot wait to see what else my time there brings me!

I’ve been working out at Forma since January 2023 with Ed as my personal trainer. Over this time, I’ve lost over 30 lbs through a combination of working out, better eating and living, and discipline. Ed has been a fantastic partner on this journey, helping keep me accountable every step of the way. I had never done personal training before, so I was a bit skeptical at first. However, having experts like Ed, Karen, and Mark to talk to about what I should be doing has made the whole process a lot less daunting and much more achievable.
The studio is always clean, never crowded, and offers a private workout experience. It operates by appointment only, which means I've had the chance to meet other clients who are both fun and friendly. Ed is great at modifying my workouts based on my goals and what other activities I’ve done recently. No two workouts are the same, and each one builds on the previous ones, keeping things fresh and exciting.
I’ve never been a fan of big gyms and have never had good experiences there. Forma provides a refreshing change of pace, offering the variety and personalized attention I need, which I can’t get from my home gym. The owners and staff always make me feel welcome, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. I’m also a big fan of their setup and layout! It’s been an incredible experience, and I look forward to continuing my fitness journey with them.

So thankful for Forma Personal Training. My New Year's resolution was to start a personal training program after healing from a back fracture and surgery. Karen's expertise and encouragement have given me the assurance I needed to commit to training. She tailors the workouts around my specific health limitations, while keeping them challenging and in line with my goals.

Can't say enough good things about Forma! I've been working with Breanna for the past eight months and have seen a huge improvement in my health. My experience at Forma Personal Training has been very rewarding over the past 11 years. I have worked out with both Mark and Karen continuously and find that each of them are genuinely interested in my fitness journey and well-being. They provide intense work-outs that target multiple muscle groups while keeping me moving about the room. Workouts are unique and never dull; one minute I’m balancing on a Bosu ball while during arm curls and the next I’m doing lunges with weights across the room. Sometimes I hang from rings doing leg lifts and other times I’m lifting weights to build muscle strength. The atmosphere also is fun - I never feel like I “have to” go workout. I look forward to this time twice a week. Over the past three years, I’ve worked out with them virtually and they still provide a quality, intense workout!

I highly recommend Forma! I've been working out with Mark and Bre for about 6 months and I've seen a huge change in my strength and flexibility. Everyone is so nice from the time you walk in the door straight through until you leave (dripping sweat of course). The location has been perfect for me to get a workout in before work or during a lunch break, and you can't beat their flexibility in schedules. They even trained me virtually when I was out of town for a week, which was super helpful for me to stay on track.

The spicy chicken sandwich at Wendy’s tastes even better after working out at Forma. Karen and Mark do an excellent job of mixing up workouts that I’d be too embarrassed to try at the Y. Plus the ability to shower at the gym means I can make it to the gym on the way to the office. Ed, Rob, and Cory are all excellent as well, not to mention very attractive. I started training with Mark Burke at Forma fitness in March 2021 - after putting on too many pounds during the pandemic lockdown. I've been going 2x a week since then and have really seen results. What I like about Mark's approach is that he completely meets you where you are. As my fitness improved, he continued to offer more challenging exercises and switch things up. He is with you the entire time during the workout, checking and correcting form and offering alternatives if there is any discomfort. He helps you with your fitness and nutrition goals but is completely respectful and does not push or criticize.

I've been training with Mark since prior to the pandemic and he was able to help and support my training in person when appropriate and also online during the lockdowns. He has a great ability to both recognize where you are and how to push you just the right amount.
I also like their new location. Thanks to the work they did on their equipment it feels like everything is brand new and fresh.
Mark has also helped me with managing some disc issues in my neck and avoiding any need of surgery.

I first tried FORMA when I was spending the summer in Pittsburgh several years ago. Since then I have lived in NY, HI and now CA and continue to virtually train with FORMA every week. This is a unique and special gym with trainers that will make you feel at home right away. It’s clear that they genuinely care about your health and fitness. I train with Karen who is so accommodating and adaptable. During our virtual sessions I am often traveling or working out outdoors and Karen is quick to adapt exercises to the environment that I am in. When I’m in Pittsburgh I always enjoy returning to in person training in their studio which is clean, friendly and low stress. I have met other clients there from every age and athletic ability and I genuinely think anyone would feel very welcome at FORMA and enjoy their workouts.

I use Forma Personal Training because both Mark and Karen inspire me to look and feel better. I started at age 65, recovering from shoulder/bicep surgery. They've been extremely considerate of my injury and were the reason I am back to normal. They have a wide variety of machines and exercises to keep my workouts interesting. I was a collegiate athlete who sort of kept up with training throughout my 20s, but really started dipping down when I turned 31. For about a year, I was in a slump and couldn’t get myself motivated to go to the gym and stick to it long enough to see results. I always considered the idea of personal training, but I never really went through with it because I thought it would be something I would dread every day… either because it was too easy or too hard.
Forma is the perfect place for anyone looking for personal training - they tailor their training plans to your wants, needs, and goals and really make you feel welcome and excited to be there! Something I thought was really cool was they work to find times that fit your schedule, not the other way around. I completed 16 sessions, 2 sessions per week - Tuesdays with Karen and Saturdays with Ed. Although their training styles were very different, I was really excited to get up and go each day!
They are both super fun, personable, and you can tell how much they care about their clients. I think my favorite thing about them is how upbeat and positive they always are, but also how much knowledge that have about fitness. They’re down to earth people who are fun to be around...no upselling whatsoever… just lots of laughs! They will help you define and meet your fitness goals while keeping you motivated and working hard!
I would absolutely recommend Forma to anyone of any age or fitness level… whether you’ve been working out you’re whole life and just need a little added motivation or are just starting to work out for the first time. I’m very happy with the results I got while working out with Ed and Karen and I guarantee you’ll love working out with the Forma family too!

Having trained in the gym and online I want to offer a different perspective. I searched several local facilities and settled on them. Why? 1) Knowledge. They have experienced the joys AND setbacks that come with life. They will encourage, educate and give a plan to break thru plateaus. 2) No judgment on where you currently are and where you want to be. 3) Reliable, on time.. uses every minute on you the client. 4) Resourceful-send her the resources you have at home from stairs, gallons of water, bags, etc and they will formulate a plan. We often get so caught up in gym equipment, we forget about the basics using our bodyweight and changing angles. I've worked with previous trainers in the past BUT Karen and her team want the best version of YOU!! This may mean lowering blood sugar and cholesterol, preparing you for reunions, weddings OR the competition stage to simply walking into the grocery store with less pain.

I've been working out with Mark at Forma for almost 2 years. My training sessions are truly the highlight of my week! Mark always knows just how much to push me and can always tailor my workouts to adjust for any pains or limitations I might be having that day. He keeps me moving for the whole hour and switches things up each time so that I can work different muscle groups. Since I started working with Mark, my injuries and aches have decreased dramatically as my strength has improved. The gym is always super clean and with covid they have doubled down on cleaning between clients and also doing temp checks and requiring hand sanitizer before and after working out. During lockdowns, Mark is able to take me through effective workouts via Skype using the equipment I have at home. I really feel that as we get older, weight training is necessary for good health and longevity and good coaching is essential to prevent injury. Forma is a great gym and I would highly recommend any of their trainers!

This place is special. Firstly, it's clean and bright. Secondly, it's not filled with over-muscled young men trying to make you look like them. There's no pressure to buy supplements and high protein shakes ... in fact, this stuff isn't even in the building. The trainers at Forma are fit and healthy professionals that will build a training regiment for you. I go weekly, partly for the end-of-session stretching. Karen is absolutely the best - super competent and very fun.

I have been training with Mark for a year now and it has been the best thing I have done for my health and well-being. I train twice a week - initially in person and now virtually. The trainers are very knowledgeable in all aspects of fitness. I was specifically looking for a trainer that knows how to build and target certain muscles and adjust as needed. I train 2x per week and each day it is a bit different, I am never bored. It is an upbeat, personable place and the trainer is there by your side at all times. Karen is great at giving me alternative workouts since I have a steel plate and screws in my forearm. I appreciate the time she spends on helping me achieve my fitness goals. They suck always cancel I paid good money the lady cancel every other week smh then wanted me to call off to come in cause she didn't wanna stay a little longer til I got off or do Saturdays run don't look back
