I was a member for more than a year. I no longer have the time to go due to my work schedule, in July I went twice. So I decided to cancel, there is an online cancel form that does nothing because you get an email and they tell you that you have to cancel in person or by certified mail. They also told me I would have to pay for 2 more months of membership even though I’m canceling and can’t go anymore. I went to the gym to cancel and they told me I had to pay $60 to buy out my contract. So I asked to speak to a manager she said one would call me but they never did so I emailed customer service. This is what she wrote me after I signed the cancellation request.

"I just saw that you signed your cancellation document! I would like to apologize for the front desk staff thinking your membership has a buyout fee- I can confirm it does not. I know it is frustrating to receive conflicting information. To apologize for all your frustrations I have removed the $49 annual fee that would have normally been charged on 9/19 (within the 60 day notice period). :)"

In conclusion they make you pay for 2 more months and if that window is within the renewal time period they still want to charge you the renewal fee even tho your cancelling. WOW

update 10/15/25 - I keep getting calls from their billing that I have a unpaid balance, which I dont so I emailed the customer care again. now she is telling me I have unpaid dues that were due which interrupted my cancellation so she put a manual stop to my membership but since there is a balance owed from dues owed that I would have to speak to a manager the next time I want to join. What unpaid dues? My account was up to date, I paid the 2 months the I was forced to pay even tho I cant go so that the membership would be cancelled. What else needs to be paid? Let me guess they are trying to bill me for the renewal fee even though I canceled in July. Right. smh

Truly unethical business practices! How do business operate this way and get away with it. Do not join this gym unless you want to be scammed.

Stopped by the gym to check it out as I’m looking for a new place. Liked what I saw, then after reading and asking further questions it’s one of those gyms with a contract attached to your membership. Meaning if you can’t afford to go anymore or something prevents you health wise from going to the gym, you cant just cancel your membership, they want you to pay out your contract. Massive red flag for me. Never sign up with a gym that forces a contract onto you. If you stop paying or don’t buy out your contract they will send you to collections and mess your credit up.

This is a decent gym, however, it is way too hot!!!! I have complained to the staff many times and the temperature remains at 77 degrees or hotter in the back which is RIDICULOUS in this heat. That’s why it’s been empty lately and that’s why I’m ending my membership. There are two other gyms nearby that keep the temperature at 68 where it should be when it’s 90+ degrees outside. It also SMELLS horrific in here if the guy who does the cleaning isn’t working. They need to hire more staff and turn the air on. Until then, I won’t be back.

I like the gym and that it has every equipment you can need. The only problem is one they need to fix the girls bathroom on the only girls area and please tell other members to stop smoking/vaping inside of the gym. It stinks and I am not a smoker so I don’t appreciate someone vaping next to me.

I have been going to this gym for a few years. Staff is quite friendly and courteous. This facility has become very clean lately. Clean treadmills and other equipment. The floors are pleasantly clean. Apparently it is thanks to a young man named Brian who always washes and vacuum cleans something. He's working hard at all times. He's a very conscientious person. I would like to express my gratitude to him. I also appreciate other employees who are respectful and always there to help.

If they could get 0 stars, or a negative rating, I would absolutely use the lowest rating I could. My wife and I went to sign up , we had a day pass from their website, but were told they don't accept those. I said 'Ok, what do you have?' the guy working , whose name is Pat, said a weekly pass is $10. I said ' Ok, I'll pay for both myself and my wife , who was coming in a few minutes behind me. He took my name down and a copy of my ID bc he could not work their system.I worked out for about 45min and my wife went in as soon as I was leaving. I went out to the car to listen to the radio and I fell asleep, only to be woken up to her crying, saying that the manager came in and was verbally abusive to her, and told her to leave. She begged me not to go in and confront these guys, and unfortunately I obliged. I went back later and Pat said that I never paid him the $20 and his manager no longer worked there. If you are joining a gym, ANY option is better than this one!

Fix the refrigeration function of the water fountain/bottle filler and then it will be a 5 star review. The only water fountain dispenses WARM water.

Also every time it rains there’s a roof leak right above the squat rack that’s close to the swing squat machine. Water accumulates on the ground right at the squat rack it’s unsafe. Please fix the swingsquat machine too!

One of the best gyms I have ever gone to. I went from Planet Fitness to Giant and it could not have been any better. I worked out at PF for a year then moved to Giant Fitness because I heard about it from someone. When I was consistent working out, at the time I would work out in the morning. Even during my transition from PF to GF. This may look like a Home Depot for you labor/union guys but the morning guys that worked out early in the morning, granted that I did not talk to them that much, were great and hilarious. Especially listening to their conversation. I highly recommend this gym for working out. And I would recommend bringing your own music to listen to if you work out with music. Dj's music selection is eh but we there to work out not dance!

Also I am getting back in the gym grind. Im going to resume where I left off at. I sooo recommend this gym!

Diana is great among all staff there (Colin, Derrick , Shaun I believe in overnight) they are greet you with energy and motivation! Which is awesome when I’m coming in after a long day at work! For a new gym that hasn't been there more than a few years, their treadmills are outdated, some have issues that are never addressed, no airflow, it's hot and stuffy with no fans to move the air, 2 water fountains, one that doesn't work and the other barely works having to put your water bottle so close to it it almost touches it, highly unsanitary. The whole gym needs to be updated to the current time. The staff tho friendly, barely do anything, some of them are more concerned with working out and hanging with their friends than manning the front desk

I’ve been coming here since it’s opened. This place went down hill over the last 1-2 years with the new ownership. Place is filthy (constantly water bottles and wipes everywhere, bathrooms are gross pee all over the toilet seats etc), the music is not gym music. I’m not asking for heavy metal or typical “gym music”but something better than oldies, weights are everywhere and never in any type of order or any organization. And I never see any of the staff tackling listed issues to have a better gym look/environment. Majority of the younger staff just sits on their phones at the counter instead. I've been going to Giant for a little over a year now. If you're looking to join a fitness center, I highly recommend Giant Fitness.
The staff is friendly. The equipment is well maintained, and in the chance something does stop working or breaks, they're quick to address it. It's also very clean.
Another thing that makes it great? The people. You'll see a lot of regular faces if you go consistently. The people here are very encouraging and polite.

Beware when signing up. If you cancel membership, they will try to bill you. And when you fight it, they give you a hard time to get the money refunded even withbproof contract was canceled. Working for the city of Philadelphia we sanitation workers have to use the bathroom. So I walked into the place which is fabulous. Better than planet fitness. So I ask to use the bathroom & the lady in the front ask do I have a membership I said no but I'm sanitation everyone let's us use there restroom. I was devastated that I was told no .

Best gym Ive been too since Powerhouse Philadelphia. Great machines and tons of vatiety. Alot of cardio equipment as well. Music is diverse. Ppl are cool as well. The best part of the gym is the equipment and the friendly staff. Its very clean and the locker room is on point... not dirty at all. I would recommend this gym to every one. I had a difficult time canceling my membership due to COVID19. They wouldn't take an email as cancellation so I cancelled on my credit card. I received a collection notice. Read complete contract when signing up! Do not trust the staff members! They are just salesmen! When signing up I was told it was a one year contract. They continued to make monthly deductions from my bank account beyond the initial year. I have belonged to giant for over a year now. The gym was always kept spotless, due to the janitor Mike. Always working, always smiling, never a bad thing to say even the day he was fired for not doing what he was told. Within 24 hours, the gym immediately took a decline, trash cans full, dirt all over floor, paper towels empty, soap dispensers empty. You can see that he is not there immediatley, Matt you are a fool, if you think you made the right choice. I watched you try to clean stuff yesterday not working for you, you can't keep up with him. You are definetly losing members based on cleanliness, I know I am looking for a new gym, as well as the 8 people I have brought in. Hope these reviews go to corporate.

i have also been a member at this gym since they were building it, I come religiously every night. I have been a member at many other gyms and a big part of a gym is the staff. I have never been to a cleaner gym then this one, Mike the custodian kept the gym perfect, and that's the main reason I come here for the friendly face and cleanliness. I was informed today auguast 11th that Mike has been fired. I will be canceling my membership and all of my friends I come with will also be canceling there memberships and will never recommend anyone to this gym ever again.

I was informed that he was recently fired because of some manager Matt which apparently doesn't know a good employee when he has one.
