We had such a wonderful experience with Aiden at Goldfish Swim School! When my son first started, he was in tears and scared of the pool. Aiden H. showed incredible patience and care, helping him slowly build confidence until he was comfortable going in on his own. Now my son actually looks for Aiden and feels instant comfort when he sees him. The whole staff is welcoming, and it’s clear the kids are having fun while learning such an important skill. I highly recommend Goldfish Swim School and especially Aiden H. for his kindness and patience!

The school is good and the kids learn about safety skills. However, the other day we observed a situation very sad and stressful. There was a kid of about 2-3 years old. He was crying not wanting to do any task or being touch. He was crying looking for kids mother. His mother was next to us and when we asked her about him she said it was fine. The kid was crying for 20 mins.

I really like the school and my two children are going there.
I recommend two solutions in situations like this.

1-Parent must be there if child is crying.
2- If the parent does not want to be with the child then they must take the child out of class.

One more thing, please, teach the instructors about being respectful with the kids. I understand everything they do is done with love and good intentions but the kids need their space sometimes.

Put your kids in swimming lessons is the lesson of today. Last night we were at a friend's pool with a lot of kids swimming and running around. It was an above ground with a deck built around and we were sitting there. I thought my 4cyear old son went with my husband to get food, but he didn't and the next thing I saw was him climbing up the ladder no swimmies crying. I ran over and he told me that he went to fill up his water gun and fell in. He said
"Mommy I sank to the bottom but I pushed with my feet and kick kick kicked till I felt the ladder and pulled myself out" this is exactly what he's been learning in swim- FALL RECOVERY and its exactly what he did!
I am so insanely relieved that he had the skillset to hold his breath, not panic and save himself. They tell you they are teaching them this and that and they do drills but to have it happen out of the class and witness him actually do it is mind blowing. Thanks to goldfish my son is safe . I cannot thank them enough for what they do.
Anyone questioning whether its worth it -do it because it could save their life.

My kids (6 and 3) both go to Goldfish. My 3 year old just transitioned to a class where we are not in the pool with him. He has had a really hard time with it because change is hard for him. Today Miss Z came over and helped him the whole time. She was so patient and so kind. She encouraged him and made him feel safe. By the end, he was able to join his class for the final activity. I appreciate her kindness more than she will ever know.

The classes are great, not gonna lie. But the 1 star is for the inability to work with the customer to make a change in the schedule.
I have been going to the classes for almost 1 year, since my daughter was 4 MONTHS.
And recently when she changed level I was told there was only one spot in a group for sunday, even though I thought it might not fit our schedule I said well.. lets give it a try.. after one month of classes we really realized we couldn't work with that schedule so we requested a change. I was basically told, it was impossible, everything was full and that I COULDN'T even get into a waiting list, they didn't really offer to work with me. I guess everyone is just a number for this business and as they have many demand why to work with one customer out? Very disappointing. 😭😭😭

Excellent school. My son was not comfortable with water and even spent about a year in YMCA but did not get anywhere then he started with goldfish school. Their curriculum is well planned and structured and meets kids needs individually. My son did so well at goldfish and now he got selected in Blue Eagles swim team in Pre team. I am so happy with the progress of my son. They were also very helpful in making adjustments in schedules according to our needs. I will recommend this school to everybody.

Extremely Disappointing company not willing to work with you during hard times. Just sends a cancelation form. The classes seemed over booked. The students only get in reality 15mins of swim time when class is full. They have children teaching swim. I have witnessed the instructor not paying attention to the swimmers. The pool is over dosed with chlorine, the smell is overwhelming when you walk in. Can't breathe in the pool room very unhealthy. No ventilation system. 2023

Huuuge waste of money. Toddler swim class was led by another child talking quietly to herself. Literally couldn’t hear a word she said despite telling her multiple times. We did not learn anything and it was honestly just a cringey, weird experience. I reached out to ask if this was the normal experience or this instructor was new or something…and they ignored me. If I hadn’t won the membership in a raffle, I’d be demanding my money back lol.

Great place, however I have one giant complaint that I'd liked addressed. Place is called Goldfish, mascot is a goldfish, goldfish everywhere. Guess what's NOT in their fishtank!? A FREAKING GOLDFISH! OTHER than that it's a great place i love. Everyone is nice, the instructors are awesome.

First impressions are great! We walked in just to see it and got undivided attention from staff explaining everything and giving us a tour. Super friendly. Found out AFTER all their help that they had actually already closed but never rushed us. Made sure we felt educated on their services and welcomed start to finish. What a beautiful, clean, bright, and cheery pool. So inviting. Picture a dark, dismal, dirty, aged YMCA pool and then picture as opposite of an atmosphere as possible.

As far as the actual classes, though, they are overpriced for what you get. A lot of young workers. Not that that is wrong in itself. However, some are just not personable or the best with toddlers. They simply don't have the experience. Today, ours spent the majority of the 30 minutes talking with the co- workers while her partner did the class. Her partner, though, does not know my child, and babied her the entire time. So there goes yet another class where my daughter learned absolutely nothing new. She hasn't progressed at all since starting about 2 months ago. She made much more progress at the Ymca. At least there they were active the whole time. Here, they spend a lot of time sitting on the wall. When they do get a turn, it's one turn on each skill. Get it or not, they move on. It's a formula, definitely not flexible for individual skills and levels. It's more about getting through a list of tasks versus mastering any one task or skill at all. We've had 3 teachers now. Not one has told the kids names of themselves or other kids. There is zero interaction with other kids even in a group lesson. So if socialization is a reason for lessons, this is not the place to go. It will, however, help your child learn to listen to an adult other than you, which is an important skill to have.

Staff is great and friendly, i feel like facility need a expansion. kids lap length is very small and they feel bored sitting outside the water 75% of their time. This is more of suggestion to the owner, i really don't like the class format, actual time spend in the water is very low, it's 30 min class, 5 min are wasted for in- out the area, 4 kids in the class, will give 25/4= 6.25. SO, basically kids spend only 6.25 min in the water and they feel bored outside, i can't say for other but my kid love to swim but hate to sit outside. I hope you will take this suggestion constructive and do something about it.

I have been totally impressed with the curriculum, facility, and staff at Goldfish Swim School in Bethlehem. Both of my grandchildren attend swim classes at Goldfish. The care that the instructors take is awesome. Both of my grandchildren are taught by Siobhan. She has been exceptional!!! Thanks to Siobhan, both of my grandchildren are comfortable going into the pool. Most recently, we had a substitute teacher, Amanda...also, very impressive. Not so satisfied yet. My toddler was anxious of going in pool with stranger and they didn’t try at all to make her feel comfortable. I asked if I could help in anyway and they said I can do whatever I want. I am going to try couple more times before I change my review here either ways.
Update- last visit was better were the front desk member allowed me to get in another lane where parents can be with kids so our child would get comfortable. They showed genuine interest in helping out this time. I am hoping they can allow my child to switch to a junior class.

Update - Kudos to Erica who has been amazing. She have us scheduled extra classes and asked her experienced teachers to do a 1-1 with our little one. Miss Natalie turned her around in just one class. Our child is not only enjoying the class, we are putting her into a fast track course.

The whole swim lesson experience at Goldfish has been wonderful. Everything is well thought out and therefore it’s easy to bring my 5 yr old daughter there for her swimming lesson. The facility is great and has everything one could need. From the front desk to the changing rooms to the swim suit dryer and everything in between it’s so well designed. Plus the “swag” (the goldfish bag and monthly goldfish make the monthly tuition more palatable. We are a low income family but our daughter’s safety in the pool is more important. The monthly progress report is great and very informative.

I called to inquire about lessons for my 2 children, I was told they couldn’t sign me up at the location because they are at capacity. Understandable, but I was then told to sign up online and find a class. I said I was not comfortable with this as I need more info. I then asked why I can sign up online and not in store and I was told by Laurie, “It doesn’t make sense but that’s how it is”. I was ready to purchase a yearly account for both kids, if you don’t want my business, I’ll find somewhere else that does.

My son absolutely loves coming to his swim classes. He is a child with special needs. The instructors are patient and provide him with clear directions which he follows to the best of his ability... most of the time. The repetition of swim skills in the curriculum, structure and routine of the lessons, as well as small class size provide him opportunity for success. Extremely dissapointed
I enrolled my kids in April but my kids never attended class due to the pandemic. My family moved from the Bethlehem area, so I requested a refund. I was informed that a 50 dollar registration fee (25 dollars per child) was going to be deducted due to an "administrative cost". It is very unfortunate that the policies are so inflexible even during these uncertain times.
