Started doing personal training sessions here with Kartinya who is the absolute best! Great coach who knows exactly how to adapt her teaching to the way that’s best for my learning style. She always brings good energy and pushes me to become stronger. The gym is also a very welcoming environment overall for a new learner!

I've been training at Juniper for over a year, and it's the best gym around. I came in with no Muay Thai experience, just looking to get into better shape and learn to throw some punches. Not only did I get that, but I've also gained a love and appreciation for the sport & the culture thanks to the Coaches, which is a huge added bonus. Highly recommended!

Training Muay Thai at Juniper has been one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. The community at the gym speaks to the environment the coaches and owners have cultivated. Women’s class, nicknamed “not dudes” class, provides an explicitly affirming space for women and non men to train, but the gym as a whole is not only welcoming, but truly supportive of women and LGBTQ+ members! All members safety and development are very clearly top priority to the coaches, and it shows in how they show up for members, from beginners to seasoned fighters. If you’ve been thinking about trying Muay Thai, or are looking to find a home gym to train at, you won’t regret joining the Juniper community ❤️

I’ve been training here for the better part of a year now, and I’ve loved it. The classes are fun and challenging, and I’ve seen immense growth in my fitness and skill level since starting. Also, the gym provides high-quality women’s classes, which helps attract and keep a vibrant community of women of all skill levels. Highly recommend!

Honestly the best Muay Thai gym I been to. I tried a few gyms prior to joining here over last three years and the coaches and members definitely are open-minded and with that truly welcoming to all levels and individuals at this gym. I been here for three months so far, and never a dull moment. I came in with some experience but even so when I asked for honestly about how to improve they didn't bs me and tried to rope me in with "private lesson" method. Joe and George and even the assistant coaches truly helped and still helping me up my game. I do want to compete someday and being apart of this gym, this team makes me feel like I will be ready once I take it to the next level in philly. I recommend this gym to any one beginner, intermediate, or advanced. You will learn what real Muay Thai is and what it mean up your skills.

Began training at Juniper about 3 months ago and absolutely love the community! I came in with zero martial arts experience and everyone made me immediately feel welcome and that I belonged there. All of the coaches are incredible and really focus on teaching proper technique. I also appreciate that they have a weekly schedule with a bunch of Women’s only classes and trainings that support members at all skill levels (even a noob like me).
Check it out, the first class is free!

Juniper Muay Thai is an awesome community with a remarkable coaching staff and friendly members. I came in with absolutely no Martial Arts experience and after my initial free intro class, I quickly grew fond of the awesome sport of Muay Thai. There is no pressure to sign up, and they make it clear you are free to cancel your membership at any time should you desire to. The class levels range from All Levels (beginner friendly), to Intermediate, to Advanced which is where the more experienced fighters train. They also offer kids classes as well as an all Womens class. Their class schedule that spans across most of the day and goes 7 days a week worked great for me as a 9-5 worker. George and Joe have built an awesome community at this gym, and are brilliant coaches, along with Coach Kartinya and Coach Mike. Whether you are brand new to Muay Thai or have fights under your belt, you can surely find your place to grow here at Juniper.

Great experience for first timers and advanced people (which we had people within our group at all levels). A great environment for a great exercises and in the same time building defensive skills (building up confidence).
The experience made it better with the coaches- Alex and Mike, great people and awesome gym and other people in general.

I had the privilege of training at Juniper Muay Thai as a drop-in from out of town for a Saturday Instruction and was immediately awestruck by the expertise, generosity, and discipline of not only the Head Instructor, but each and every fighter I had the privilege of sharing the mats with.
Everyone was locked in, technical, and refreshingly chill - highlighting opportunities for me to improve my technique while pushing me to give my very best during each round.
I’ve been training as an MMA fighter since 2010 and have been fortunate to travel-train all over the world. For those with a similar background, it goes without saying that creating an environment where all levels of fighters are equally focused, technically disciplined, tough, and treat visitors like one of their own is the near impossible dream many of us have when imagining perhaps one day opening a gym of our own.
Juniper Muay Thai is that dream-like, impossible standard where the depth talent is rivaled only by their generosity and the expertise of their head trainer.
I had an absolute blast, learned every round, and cannot wait to come back.
Truly grateful for the experience. 10/10 would recommend to anyone looking to improve as a drop-in from out of town or as a regular in the area 🫶🏽🙌🏽

I’ve trained at various gyms of different disciplines from country to country and state to state, but very few instructors/trainers/coaches match the dedication George and Joe put into the standard of technique and effort from their students, as well as the constructive and inclusive gym culture they nurture for members of all backgrounds. Whether you’re a day-one beginner or an active fighter, they make sure to push you towards your individual goals honestly and diligently, and give their time and body to anyone willing to learn and better themselves. Very lucky to call these folks my friends and teachers.

This gym deserves all the good fortune that has come its way lately! (ie Best of Philly!!) They lured me in with a chorus of people's legs smacking against heavy bags whenever I walked by on Saturday mornings. But what I found inside was so much more than a gym. This is a community that really cares about each other (even though we aim for the forehead and try to land our punches). Joe and George have really created something special, and I tell everyone about it. Not only a great place to work out, but an inclusive community that helps you build confidence, self respect, humility, and respect for others.

The best Muay Thai gym in the city! Joe and George have built an amazing business where everyone has a place and everyone feels at home. Whether you want to take a class for cardio, learn the art of Muay Thai for self defense, or want to seriously compete in the sport, these guys have you covered. The women’s classes are very welcoming and having coaches like Kartinya and Casey only add to that element. It’s a family friendly environment, VERY clean, and just well run overall with great people at the helm. If you’re looking for Muay Thai in Philly, look no further. Great instruction and a great community.

Juniper Muay Thai isn’t just a gym, it’s a community. Joe and George (as well as coaches Casey, Alex & Kenny) have created an inclusive space for all folks to train and grow! There is no ego here- both coaches and members treat everyone with respect no matter experience level. Not many gyms can take a true beginner, make them feel comfortable, AND push them to improve. Juniper does that seamlessly. I’ve also really enjoyed the mix of Muay Thai and Kettlebells classes (shout out Rock and Jon!). If you’re looking to train hard, meet new friends, and feel great then join Juniper!

Excellent instructors and facilities. Was really pleased with the overall atmosphere at the gym, no tough guys, but everyone took sparring and training seriously, and focused on learning, calmness, technique and having fun. Instructors are open to working with people from different skill levels, and seek to make the private lessons specific to each person. You won't feel like you wasted your time with an out of the box lesson, and you will see yourself learning fast. Highly recommend.

I cant say enough good things about this gym/community. I may be biased, but I believe we have the best women's program around! You have women from all backgrounds and athletic abilities who come together to train but also have become great friends along the way. The coaches are top notch- they make accommodations for various fitness levels as well as injuries. They have a focus on safety, while they teach authentic Muay Thai. I hesitated to join until I reached a certain athletic level- I wish I wouldnt have waited so long to join! Overall 10/10.

I never write reviews. For anything. But if you’re thinking about taking an intro class, do it. Juniper Muay Thai is the best. Joe and George have created a space that’s inclusive, welcoming and are the best teachers I’ve ever met. This is a place of truly no judgement. If you’re looking to get into shape, this is the place. Really enjoy Juniper Muay Thai. My 9 yr old son started here in October and has grown and progressed tremendously the past 3-4 months. I appreciate the availability of kids classes(MWF 5:15-6pm, Sa 12-12:45pm) and the structure that Coach George and Joe enforce. Besides the sport, they also instill personal responsibility into the kids, respect in and out of the gym, and trying/doing you best; even when you're tired/hurt. I've watched all the kids progress with no prior experience, the Coaches are really good at providing direction and teaching the kids. I finally joined the gym, with no prior martial arts experience, and the Coaches and fellow students are all helpful and encouraging. Great availability of Adult classes, there's always something everyday. Just wish I had joined here sooner and there was more time in the day for me to attend more classes.

Casey was one of the first female Muay Thai coaches I had the honor of working with when I began my Muay Thai career. As a beginner, she took the time answer any and all questions I had with respect. Her demonstrations were always clear and never overwhelming. As a pioneer for Women’s Muay Thai on the east coast, you could not find a better coach to work with than Casey! AND IT GETS BETTER! Her community outreach in Philadelphia and her PhD research in social work are truly inspiring. I recommend everyone put their fitness needs in the hands of this amazing coach, great person and badass human being Casey!
