I've been training with Eric for about 2 1/2 years. When I first started I had some goals and areas I thought I should work on. Eric gently redirected me and said those are good goals but there are some more important things we need to focus on first. And he was right! Being able to get up off the floor with no hands, balance, leg and arm strength among other things are so important especially at my age. I love how he was able to see what I needed even when I wasn't sure. He's also fun to work with (cue the dad jokes) and has a lot of energy!

I have the privilege of working with Eric as my personal trainer, and I couldn’t recommend him more! From our very first meeting, it was clear that he genuinely cares about your goals, your motivation, and your overall well-being. His focus is not just on fitness for its own sake, but on helping you build the kind of strength and mobility that supports the activities you love, whether that’s backpacking, skiing, running, landscaping, or anything else that brings you joy.

Each session begins with an assessment of readiness. If muscle tightness is present, Eric uses massage techniques to release tension and improve joint mobility before training starts. Throughout the workout, he continually monitors your range of motion and movement quality, pausing to provide targeted massage whenever limitations or cramps arise. This ensures every exercise is performed safely and effectively.

Warm-ups are dynamic, engaging not only the primary movers but also the supportive muscles that stabilize and assist in each exercise. This approach reduces injury risk and prepares the body for functional movement.

Sessions are carefully tailored to your current ability, but at the same time challenging enough to drive progress. Even rest periods are used strategically, reinforcing mobility through stretching with light weight or resistance. The result is that you maximize benefits both during the workout and in the days that follow — without the crippling soreness that can discourage consistency.

What I love most, is that training with Eric is engaging, varied, and fun. Each session feels like a fresh reset, leaving me both challenged and restored, and genuinely excited for the next one. In addition, in a short 1.5 months since I started, his massage, mobility work and personalized approach has made a remarkable difference - the chronic stiffness in my legs is long gone, and I am already notice increased mobility and strength!

In summary, Eric’s approach is grounded in the integrative principles of mobility, functionality, and injury prevention and truly embodies a shift in training philosophy, away from one-size-fits-all programs. In my view, he stands at the leading edge of personal training, offering a model that is both progressive and very practical. When my wife (a nurse, and clearly the wiser one) gave me a gift certificate for personal training sessions with Eric for my birthday, I was skeptical. To be perfectly honest, I was someone who had never taken fitness seriously—the gym was a foreign concept, and I certainly didn't see the value in a trainer.

However, as a very busy physician with a demanding schedule, the stress and long hours eventually compounded into serious physical issues. I wasn't just tired; I was struggling with chronic pain across my body, specifically in my neck, shoulder, and ankle. My sessions with Eric quickly transformed from an obligation (a gift I had to use) into a clinical necessity.

Eric is exceptional. He immediately shifted the focus from generalized fitness (which I would have ignored anyway) to therapeutic and functional training. He listened intently to the specifics of my musculoskeletal issues and developed a program that was careful, targeted, and surprisingly effective. He didn't just push me; he educated me on movement patterns that were causing my pain as a doctor who is often hunched over or on my feet for hours.

5 STARS! Eric brings so much energy to every session - It’s contagious. I could tell right away that he really knows his stuff, and he doesn’t just put you through the motions. He takes the time to teach you the right form, explains the why behind everything, and even gives you homework to keep you going. I am a 54 year old construction worker that slowly was realizing his body needs help Eric at Kustom Fit spent two hours the first visit with me to figure out my weaknesses and pain, and I was experiencing knew right away what needed to be done and every visit worked on, educate me and strengthening the problem areas and the whole body. He also knew when do push me and not to set me back. I intend two fight the aging process with the help of Eric’s guidance.

For 15+ years, I was dealing with weakening grip strength and a lot of pain with some tingling. I went to multiple specialists and many tests and no one could figure out what was wrong. After a single session with Eric, he found the issue and helped loosen the muscles in my upper arms, neck, and shoulders. I left after that hour session able to hold onto my water bottle with no issues. I'm not randomly dropping things anymore (like the milk carton making chocolate milk for my daughter). It was like magic. And the more I work with Eric, the more I learn about which muscles are connected so I can also help ease any tightness in between sessions. He not only works to resolve the issues, but educates and creates tailored plans and routines to target your specific needs to reach your goals. He works with how you're feeling on any particular day and he knows when to take it a little easier to focus on stretching and when he can push you a little more to build strength without feeling like you're actually working hard.

And bonus: he's been great with my 8yo on days I need to bring her because of no school. He finds challenging and fun activities we can do together so we both get a workout and have fun. I can't say thank you enough.

Where to begin! Eric is amazing at what he does. His knowledge of how our bodies work and the education I receive from that alone is so helpful. Definitely is a great listener and will help you the ups and downs of exercising. I’m doing things in my 40s that I never I was capable of doing. When I want to quit or not come in for bs reason, he will not give up on me. In turn, I’ve learned not to give up on myself. Working out with Eric has changed my life in such a positive way and I’m living my best life. I live a more active life and do things like kayaking, zip lining and I even went parasailing. I’ve even learned some boxing moves. Before I started working with Eric I would have never attempted any of those things and he’s a blessing in my life.

Ive started working with Eric and his level of knowledge is astounding. He truly cares and takes the time to learn what you need and want to build/ work on. I’ve had pain in my right ankle for almost 5 years now. I’ve seen my family doctor, a podiatrist, an orthopedic surgeon (tells me I’ll need a new ankle in 10 years), and a physical therapist. Other than the steroids helping me get by, I’ve seen no huge improvement from any of them. In just a few visits, Eric at Kustom Fit Studio has had more of a positive effect on my ankle than all the rest combined! Eric’s approach is both unique and personal – more effective than anything I have seen thus far. I highly recommend!

I started working with Eric 3 years ago. I work night shift as an RN. I was in my mid thirties and I felt much older. Eric designed a plan to increase my mobility and turn that mobility into strength. Eric has been able to increase my flexibility, energy level, cardio level, and functional strength. I no longer feel sore (and run-down) after working my 12 hour shifts and I feel as good as I did in my mid 20s. I would recommend Eric to anyone and everyone and will continue working with him as long as I can.

Looking for a different type of workout which entails functional movement? Something we do everyday! I started with Eric at the end of June 2022 after a 2-1/2 year hiatus due to Covid restrictions. Have been going to the gym with many personal trainers most of my adult life. Eric’s approach to working a workout was very different from the start. It’s not 3 sets of 10 but more of warming up the muscles and gradually increasing weight and strength to the workout. This includes the use of resistance bands, kettle bells and barbells. It may come across a bit deceiving but after 7 months my lower back doesn’t bother me and I have more stamina at work which requires me to be on my feet for prolonged periods of time. Eric is tons of fun. He is super knowledgeable of all different sports and is curious to learn about what he is unfamiliar with such as ballroom dancing. It’s a hobby of mine and Eric has adapted my workout for better execution when I ballroom dance. It works! Eric has a great sense of humor to get you through those grueling workouts. I highly recommend joining if you’re looking for long term functional stability and strength as well as a good time.

First of all, I have always hated working out. With that said, I started Personal Training with Eric at Maxx Fitness. He knows so much about the human body and works muscles to relieve tightness and knots through proper exercise. When he left Maxx to pursue his own studio I followed him to Kustom Fit Studio and I have not been sorry. 💪💪💪
