Highly recommend LA Fitness Bridgeville just solely based upon their compassion and kindness. I am a mom of a soon to be Air Force Airman who needed help with a requirement for my son’s ship out. I spoke with Grace who was so kind and was able to assist us without batting an eye. She listened to what was needed and set my son up the same day. Thank you so much for having awesome employees!!

If 0 stars I could. The tall brunette is hateful and condescending. How they could allow her to stay working there is beyond me. She has no idea what customer service actually means and only thinks of herself. This location also has issues with their pool where its closed most of the time. Spend your money elsewhere!

I’ve been coming to this gym for about 10 years and overall, I really like it. They’ve been doing a much better job of keeping things clean lately, which I appreciate. The equipment is solid and price is affordable , and the staff is always friendly and welcoming. Definitely a good place to train.

I used to love this gym --- it was clean enough and there were a lot of great class options. I was a member from 2008 through 2019, and I haven't returned since because the pandemic had me looking for other options -- plus, I moved a little farther away. I recently decided it would be nice to go back, so I purchased a membership again online. -- I wasn't able to make it there until this past Saturday for a Pilates class. First of all --- there was nobody at the front desk to help me get checked in (I had no key tag and needed someone to help me activate my app.) Ok, fine...just went right to class. (This was a bit concerning to me having been through a shooting there in 2009.)
The only good thing about my visit was that the instructor, Leslie, was still there --- she is amazing, kind, very knowledgeable and effective. However, the Pilates/group fitness room needs some serious help. It was filthy --- the equipment is run down. The lighting is terrible. Can we please help a girl out and get some new Pilates rings and fitness balls? Some new paint and lighting in that room? She could teach anywhere and it would be great, but it just made me feel depressed that LA Fitness can't do better here.
Additionally, it was humid and clammy the moment I walked in (AC problem?) and the bathrooms were gross. I walked out of there knowing I had made a mistake. I called both the Bridgeville line (was put on hold twice, btw, because he was the only one working the desk....) and the corporate office. Both places said that I could not receive a refund of either of the fees I paid two weeks prior. It would have had to be within three days of signing up. Ok, how am I supposed to know that this would have been such a disaster within three days? Even if I could have received SOMETHING back? Part of the $138 that I gave them? Instead, the customer service rep told me, "Well, you can still use the gym until the 11th." Great. No thanks.
As someone who works in the customer service industry myself, this makes me feel sad for those who are working for this company. Absolutely TERRIBLE.

The pool has been unavailable for 6 months, both here and at the other Pittsburgh locations. This is the feature that I signed up for so as to triathlon train; otherwise, Planet Fitness, 3 miles closer and $20/month cheaper is a better deal for me. When I explained this to the LA Fitness Manager, he said that my monthly dues only grant me access to the building with expectations for any particular fitness equipment or activities, even those advertised on their websites. He said, "Well, the pool is open as of today at Bridgeville, but they have no plans to open the others." No, "I'm really sorry about that." Or,"We've let you down." And no refunds are offered! No empathy or caring. Really just a "Well, it will be good to cancel your membership so that I'll have fewer customers to manage. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE!!

Pros:
-You can get a decent workout there even though the equipment is getting old.
-Easy to park.
Cons:
-It's often not clean in the shower & restroom areas.
-The pool and whirlpool have been out-of-order for quite a while... months
-Water fountains' chillers don't work anymore. Lukewarm water.
-Never went back to pre-"pandemic" hours... even though the rest of the country has.

I have been a member since 2019. I have never seen it so dirty! Floors, equipment and I don't know if the AC is working because the humidity will make someone with breathing issues pass out! I had to leave after only completing half my workout. The pool is being repaired, which is fantastic! However, they keep saying it will be up and running in a couple weeks. That was three months ago! They only have kettle bells in the training area. One set of 12 lb dumbbells and you can't use them because they are in the training area. I can never find a weighted ball. They are all over the place as are the weights, dumbbells etc. . People in charge are rude and of no help! The only bright spot in the trainer, Ashley, she is the BEST!!!
I'm thinking of trying Planet fitness and then coming here for Aqua fit only. The aerobics instructor, Brenda is fantastic!! LA Fitness!! Get your act together!

I joined LA Fitness for the pool. Every single one except for Bridgeville has closed their pools. Bridgeville hasn't had a working pool since early January (it's currently the end of April). In January when the pool closed, I requested them to freeze my membership complimentary (I pay annually). The manager said the pool has to be closed for a month before they would do that. It was. They reopened for 5 days in February after they got their filter and promptly closed again. This time to take care of the HVAC and all of the resulting issues from it not working for several years--the peeling paint, the mold growing on the walls, floors and every surface inside. Gross. Received a complimentary 2 month freeze aymt this point while they fixed the pool. As of April 17th, they unfroze my membership and (SURPRISE!) the pool is still not operational and classes there are cancelled through the first week of May (and possibly longer since they cancel 1-2 weeks out at a time). The manager refuses to extend the freeze. And don't even get me started on the condition of the locker room and showers--half are broken and the hot water may last for about 2 minutes. My membership is up mid June and I am seriously considering not renewing it (after 10+ years). Their customer service is the worst and if you want a pool, don't even bother. Pathetic management who actively lie to their customers. Not recommended.

Nice gym with plenty of equipment, spinning classes, aerobics classes, racquetball and a pool...wait maybe not a pool since in the six months I've been a member the pool has been closed almost half the time. The hot tub has been closed the whole time.
If they maintained the pool better it would be a great gym.

This gym is horrible. It’s so gross and dirty. Most of the machines are broken or missing buttons. The equipment is rusted and have permanent sweat stains. There was even gum in the cup holders. I’ve never seen a staff member clean equipment or do any sort of maintenance. I’m honestly afraid I’ll get a staph infection while I’m there. Not worth the money. They also make it a huge headache to cancel. You have to go in person and fill out a form. They do it intentionally to try to keep you a member. Shady practices.

I found a lifetime contract and they told me the pool would be open and also the Jacuzzi. Right now the pool is closed for good and so is the Jacuzzi. The sauna and the men’s room isn’t working and they don’t know when it will be fixed. Equipment is not being repaired And not being renewed. The place is starting to fall apart. The new manager of the place seems to be working hard and I hope things turn out for him. I had to get a membership down the local YMCA so I could swim.

Fiest off hours of operation are ridiculous, why close so early on the weekends? Second, the pool and hot tub have been closed for the better half of a year. The fire dept came in and shut the entire place down 2 days ago and kicked everyone out mid workout. The fire chief was bragging about shutting them down for good due to fire safety hazards. The sauna and shower areas are never cleaned. The sauna is off half the time and I have to manually click the machine on in the back of it myself because there are no female staff to do it during the day. The only reason I loved this gym was because of the sauna.

The lack of planning by this gym is ridiculous. The pool area has needed attention for years and it has been completely neglected. Cheap rates but you get what you pay for a run down and neglected facility. Half the treadmills are slipping with heavily worn belts.
LA Fitness was a great place years ago and continues to slip in my opinion. Keep providing a product/service like this and you’ll be bankrupt and out of business before you know it.
JUST BUDGET FOR THE REGULAR MAINTENANCE THROUGHOUT THE GYM/POOL AND CHARGE RATES ACCORDINGLY. You want dues every month but can’t keep the gym running. Do better please.

Overcrowded annoying gym with too many nautilus machines and not enough freeweights. Boxing bags can’t be used half of the time because they are in the room used for all the group classes. Instead, the boxing bags should be in one of the racquetball rooms that sit empty most of the time. Sauna isn’t big enough, often can’t use it.
Was the site of a shooting event. People were shot and died here and they stayed open.
This area is ripe for another gym that offers a better experience. Business owners take note. I’d do it but it isn’t my industry and I have no interest in it.
Can’t wait to leave this gym soon.

I truly cannot understand only having 2-3 adjustable free weight benches for a gym of this size and attendance. I can sort of make excuses for the Robinson location, as it's half the size - but why not switch out all 6-7 benches to adjustable benches? Almost never see people using the 2 upright stationary utility benches (what couldn't be accomplished if these were fully adjustable?), and I have never walked into either location where there is an available adjustable bench. It's incredibly frustrating to do free weight routines, and have to just stand around waiting for 30 minutes before you can even start your workout. If I have to wait a half hour every time, i might as well just make the drive to UFC downtown, heck even Crunch's have more sensible equipment - other than that, I will at least give credit to the cleaning crews. I've seen many reviews comment on the lack of cleaning at this location, but I saw no less than 5 crew members cleaning at all times of my workouts, both on the gym floor and locker rooms. And way less equipment that is obviously old, compared to the Robinson location. Lockers themselves are in kind of sad shape though. Many having whole chunks taken out of the sides and bases.
Local LA fitness locations seem to suffer from an identity crisis, where they can't decide if they are planet fitness w/ a sauna, a serious weight lifters gym, or a member's club. They would do well to pick one and run with it - one ex, either replace the lockers with metal cage style lockers or actually repair the elevated wooden ones to match their original aesthetic.
I've said a million times, and seen many reviews in agreement - people in Pittsburgh will pay 10$-$20 more a month for a gym, if the increased dues would result in better/increased staffing/consulting/renos - it's just that there aren't any options. I feel LA fitness as a brand fails, when it comfortably relies on lack of local gym options, as their selling point.

Either the pool and/or hot tub is consistently non-functional. Locker rooms and shower areas are consistently in need of ongoing attention even when staff are notified. At least one (and often two) urinals are down for maintenance. Response from on-site management/staff is unexceptional.
NEW UPDATE AS OF
DECEMBER 19, 2024
Hot tub has been down most of 2024 and now staff are saying it may be repaired sometime after January 2025??? We'll see....?
Swimming pool area has peeling paint from the ceiling, water damage from roof?
Mens bathroom is dirty, one urinal has been non-functional for about a month or longer. Paper towels are often empty. Showers are cold.
Waiting for word this facility will close??? Probably close down the pool, just like several other LA Fitness pools in the area.
Sad, as this facility used to be maintained much better...Guess the owner(s) are more concerned with profit over providing a welcoming environment.

Review for LA fitness in collier township/bridgeville- It’s been a long time since I have been to this LA Fitness. I’ve had great services with them and had no problems when I was coming in and out of the LA fitness. I loved the smoothie bar, customer service, gym equipped maintained & kept equipment clean, loved to relax in the jacuzzi, and swimming at the pool.
I recently learned of a distressing story about a terrible tragedy that occurred at this gym on August 4th, 2009. My heartfelt condolences go out to the families affected by the shooting incident at this gym. This tragedy not only brings pain to the victims' families but also to the family of the shooter(George Sodini). I do not condone the actions of George Sodini; what he did was unequivocally wrong. If society paid more attention to mental-health, showed kindness towards each other, being compassionate, being more caring towards one another, and if the dating-culture, social-culture, and society as a whole were more receptive to giving George Sodini a chance with an open mind and at least suggest an alternative for him to go to a different country to pursue romance & friendships that are true and people were caring, treating others the way they’d want to be treated themselves, such tragic events could potentially be prevented. Once again, my deepest condolences and sympathies go out to all the families impacted by this heartbreaking tragedy.
If you notice that someone is alone and displaying signs of loneliness or forced isolation, trust your intuition and take the time to accompany them, befriend them, and brighten their day. Listen to them with an open-mind and offer a supportive ear. Regardless if your a man or woman, make an effort to engage with them and make their experience meaningful. Your actions can have a positive impact on that person's life. Social-isolation can push individuals to a breaking point, and forced loneliness is a significant concern. By providing support and friendship to those in need, you have the potential to save a life and prevent tragic outcomes such as suicide or harm to innocent individuals and bystanders.
If someone shows signs of suicidal ideation or expresses a desire to take their own life, when all other methods have been exhausted, do not ignore it. Call 911 immediately and seek help. Allow the police and paramedics to manage the situation. Taking mental health seriously is crucial in such situations.
LA Fitness and the gym are places where individuals come to achieve their best physical shape and maintain their health. I recognize that some people prioritize personal space and may not be inclined to engage in conversation at all times, and that is perfectly understandable. The objective is not to create a perfect world, but rather to establish an environment that is inclusive and welcoming to all, regardless of their background.
Let this tragic event at this LA Fitness serve as a learning opportunity and a lesson for all. Let it remind us to give people a chance and to embrace them for who they are, rather than superficial or false reasons.

A lifeguard started pulling in lanes without any warning or asking the lap swimmers to leave the pool so an aquafit class could begin. I was in the middle of my lap when he pulled the lane divider in and wrapped it around my head without any warning. I wasn’t the only one he did this to as a few other swimmers were irritated. We are long-time LAF members. Over the past 2 years, like many businesses, they've had their challenges getting things fixed in a timely manner and keeping the facility clean. But today, the cleaning crew was doing a noticeable thorough job cleaning the locker rooms and gym area. So credit where credit is due. I spoke with one of the managers who said they are doing their best to keep it that way.
FEB 2024 UPDATE
Sadly, the cleanliness I mentioned some 2 years ago has fallen off. As there is no way to leave a suggestion on LAF's website, I'll do it here: Make SHOWERING before entering the pool or hot tub MANDATORY, not a polite suggestion. Make appropriate signage and have the lifeguards enforce it.
Unfortunately, it's often those who most look like they really do need to shower off who enter without doing so.

Update:
Downgrading my review to a 1 star. Been going here for ~8 years or so. Purely out of convenience because I live 5 minutes away.
Kids club is extremely unreliable. It seems like at least three times a week. They either closed the morning or the evening session.
If you are a parent That needs gym daycare do not go here, go to Robinson. Even when they have staff most of the males are glued to their phones. Sometimes they even have their headphones in. Only Jimmy cares after your kids. (And the females that work there).
Broken bathroom stall doors and broken gym equipment that takes literally months to repair.
Stairmasters typically have 2/5 machines broken. They take weeks to replace high usage machines.
The cleaning crew does a great job. The management and repair personnel need replaced. No one cares about this facility.

This location is okay, but it could use some improvements. For one, the free weight area is overcrowded with equipment crammed a little too close together. This area is also usually overcrowded with too many people, making it harder to be able to access the equipment you want. I was also disappointed to find there aren't any olympic platforms and weights available. The cardio and machine areas are a bit better in terms of space and crowds. There's plenty of treadmills, elliptical, and bikes upstairs. Overall, this gym is always kinda dirty, and a lot of equipment is pretty old and worn out. It definitely could use some equipment updates and more frequent and thorough cleaning.
I'm particularly disappointed by the state of the equipment in the mats area. The foam rollers, medballs, and light weight dumbbells are super old, worn out, and dirty; there are no elastic bands; mats are small and dirty, and the balance disks, bosu balls, and physioballs are often under inflated and kinda dirty. I would like to see this equipment replaced and bands available.
The pool here is okay, reasonable temps, usually not crowded, but the hot tub looks kinda dirty. The jets broke once for 2 weeks, and it was just hot water, and it looked like it was rarely ever cleaned with mildew in it. Also, pool closes way too early, probably due to having life guards, but their lifeguards don't even do their job. They literally all sit there reading their phones and not even watching the pool...would be better without them so as not to give false sense of safety when they don't even watch the pool.
Hours here also are way too limited. I'm okay with 11 pm close time on week nights, but 6 pm close on weekends is way too early, and th3 pool closes 2 hours before the building most days. I rarely come here due to limited hours. One good thing here is ample parking available for free. Gym also has a smoothie bar and racquetball courts, but I've never used either.
Locker rooms are decently nice, but are often a little dirty and lack basic amenities like hair dryers and those swim suit dryer machines. Usually not crowded, though.
I've taken the yoga and aqua aerobics classes at this location, and both classes were pretty good. I did the 11 am yoga one day, and the class was a nice, gentle, vinyassa flow. The yoga classes vary a lot by the instructor, so each class is gonna be different. The aqua class was extremely popular with a full pool, so come early if you're doing that one!
Overall, this gym gets the job done, but it lacks space and common equipment for Olympic lifts, band exercises, and body weight exercises in the stretching area. Too crowded in free weight area and too full of arrogant meat heads. Probably would be intimidating and unwelcoming to new lifters. Could use better cleaning and equipment updates. I like that it offers a pool, racquetball, most basic equipment, and classes. I probably wouldn't join here if it wasn't part of my insurance based health program since the hours and equipment are too limited and no classes are offered after 7 pm.

The gym itself is nothing special. Equipment / machine are all a bit cramped, not enough cable machines, not enough squat racks, and the dumbbell portion of the gym could use a total makeover. That being said, Omeed, an employee at this establishment, is an absolute stud. He deserves, WITHOUT QUESTION, a 13% raise in salary ASAP. Lovely gent. God bless and roll tide.

very little cleaning
There is poor management
They rotate the staff
I only go because it is one of the few gyms with a kids club area and even so it is unpleasant that they change so much staff that gives a lot to think about. I only want to thank December infinitely for being so kind and helpful.

Love this gym!!! Employees are very nice and friendly as I’ve seen throughout my time here. The GM Mason was especially nice and helpful when I’ve needed help with anything. Plenty of different machines and equipment for any exercise to meet your fitness needs. I always see at least one worker walking around and cleaning the gym throughout the day. Definitely my go to gym!!

I've been to several LA fitnesses around the area and this one is by far the best equipped. The trainers here are all well versed and very friendly. The GM Mason is one of the nicest people you'll meet. All of the people here genuinely want you to get better.

Out of all the other locations I’ve experimented with on top of the other local commercial gyms I’ve visited, la fitness bridgeville is the most welcoming and comfortable gym I’ve been to. The staff treat everybody as family, no matter who you are. They are efficient when it comes to memberships and it’s evident that they want the best for each member. Personally I’ve developed a relationship with almost every worker due to how relatable and whole-hearted they are. I’m greeted everyday at the front desk with welcoming smiles and everytime I leave I can say look back and remember each interaction as a bright part of my day. A worker I’ve grown particularly close with, Omeed, encourages always has my back and motivates me to be a better person because of how genuine and uplifting he is to every member at the gym. Mason, the gm always offers me fitness and dieting advise so that I can maximize my results from the gym. This location has absolutely impacted my life and I’ve never walked away thinking anything negative about the bridgeville gym. The employees even encouraged me and my friends to take up racquetball and we’d have a competitive league, which would make the experience more fun, while simultaneously allowing me to add on my workout with the high intensity cardio. Even if I’d get upset on the court due to mistakes I’d make during the game, Omeed would allow me to maintain my composure and finish the match, to the best of my abilities. I absolutely wouldn’t change a thing about this gym.

Update a year later.....not one thing has changed. The bathrooms are deplorable and the showers and locker room aren't much better.
Too many things inoperable, machines, water fountains, showers, paper towel dispensers, toilets, faucets, many broken lockers that were never fixed. Some of these things have been broken for over 2 years. Not clean like it used to be, and the place is falling apart. They keep signing up new members but are doing nothing to maintain the place at all. They used to have facilities staff always there working on things, but not any more. Most staff members are friendly.

Nice facility, but could be cleaner. I became a member mainly for the sauna and wish there were other local options. The bathrooms and sauna area are never to a standard that I would call clean. Garbage cans are often over flowing. Frequently toilet stalls are out of paper and overall I am unsatisfied. Personally I would pay more for better service and cleaner facility, there just aren't many options available.

I had bad experience with LA Fitness. They desperately want people to take membership and rushes through the application process without explaining the terms of agreement properly. There was a hidden fees that I was not aware of. And the manager at this GYM was not at all helpful in resolving the issue. I canceled my membership as they don't value customers.
