This is not my home gym . Because near my job so I came here now some morning for the pool . I found some inappropriate behavior in the pool area . I have addressed to the front desk . Hope this will not happen again .

So, I don’t consider myself very picky when it comes to gyms. Selection of equipment and a water source are what I am looking for. The two main positives for this location are that it’s close to my house and has a pool for swim workouts. However, as others have posted, this place needs some serious upkeep and preventative maintenance. Staff are mostly just on their phones, water fountains (“filtered”) are so calcified that they don’t even work properly, the kettlebell selection is very limited, and the ones that are available are falling apart, and fixtures are literally coming out of the walls. It’s assumed that no one from a corporate office is looking at these reviews, otherwise some of these basic things might have been addressed.

There are less than 10 men in the gym, but 15-20 lockers have locks on them, and 10 more lockers are filled with water bottles, shoes, and random articles of clothing. Many lockers have been filled for weeks. They never clean this obvious crap out of the lockers. Maybe that accounts for the smell in the locker room.

The gym is OK it is older, but there’s a really nice crowd there. However, recently I have been told that they will be shutting off all, but one swimming lane for paid extra personal trained members. That is not fair to the paid member who needs the lanes 6-8 AM in the morning due to work as well as seniors. I will leave this review open so that if they change that policy, I can amend my review.

I don't understand the 4 and t star reviews. The whirlpool spa does not work properly. The sauna has not been cleaned in years as proved by photos from 2021. The same trash is in the same place as today. The men's showers have mold and frequently there is paper and clutter all over the floors. So, why are they closing the Collegeville- location and not this location? Collegeville- is a clean and better maintained club.

HORRIBLE! This gym opens at its earliest at 8am on Saturday and Sunday?!?!? unacceptable for a gym especially if you want to get your workout done in the morning and out the way. I used to go here 15 years ago... moved back into the area came back ...same dirty and broken equipment. never Any wipes to wipe the equipment down. There will be a new gym that's open 24 hours That's supposed to open up at the end of September near Goodwill ...powerhouse something. cant wait to leave here and try there.

This corporation already has class action lawsuits about deceptive billing practices. This has led to locations closing, so why not add additional deceptive billing practices like not refunding customers their membership fees. There are better gyms you can join. I only joined them bc they bought out Bally's and I wanted to swim. The swimming area is half the time closed and a bunch of exercise machines are usually broken. Get a membership with a different gym.

Edit: This location has somewhat improved. Whenever I am in there at various times, there is someone actively cleaning something (although the men's locker room/shower area still is not perfect). Equipment is older, but things seem to be getting repaired more promptly. It is also kept at a comfortable temperature, especially in these summer months.

Locker rooms (at least the men's) are nasty. Floor doesn't look like it has been mopped in ages and the shower stalls are gross with moldy curtains, soap dispensers broken or empty, etc.

I've had a gym membership here for over a year, and I have to say, this location is really disappointing. The gym is often dirty, and many machines are out of order at any given time. The main workout area also feels unbearably hot and humid. I'm not sure if the AC is even working. It makes exercising there uncomfortable. When I tried to cancel my membership (which, by the way, you can't do online), the only staff member on duty couldn't speak any English and kept motioning for me to just go ahead and work out. I was completely unable to cancel my membership and ended up having to go to a different LA Fitness location to do it. It's pretty frustrating that they only have one employee working who can't communicate with the majority of customers.

The treadmills are all broken. The pool was closed. A lot of other machines are not working. They need to do an overall on this place you cannot even wipe the machines down because they have no more wipes. All I can say is that the workers are very polite and very nice.
They always have a smile when you come in and very helpful.

This gym is amazing, has everything you may need and more. It’s never too crowded for beginners who may want a more quiet gym and it has all the perfect equipment for lifetime lifters to get their pump on. This gym needs a serious upgrade, especially in the dumbbell area! Here's just a small list of what needs to either change or get upgraded...

1. The benches in front of the dumbbells are terrible! They very old benches and the number 1 complaint I hear from people in there. They sit too high! You can't even kick up your dumbbells properly because they sit so high! The seats for the incline benches in this area are fixed at 90 degrees extremely uncomfortable to sit in.

2. There are only 2 flat benches in front of the dumbbell rack! There are 3 incline benches that ONLY ADJUST IN VARIATIONS OF INCLINE! Crazy. You can't lay them flat. The benches should be able to adjust from a full seated position to flat or decline. Again, these are old outdated benches. The incline benches need immediate replacing!

3. The dumbbell rack is the old school kind with the space in the middle so if you don't put that heavy dumbbell back just right you will break your hand. The rack is not labeled at all so its basically a free-for-all where to put dumbbells.

4. They have NO HALF SIZES of dumbbells. They also have different styles of dumbbells so nothing matches.

5. The weighted curl bars in the dumbbell area have rubber falling off and some of them are broken to the point that the weight at the end spins.

6. A lot of the machines throughout the gym need an upgraded version of them. There is rust and faded paint.

7. The only mat they have in the cycling room really needs regular cleaning!

8. They only have 2 sets of cable handles for the whole gym.

I will leave it at that for now. If I had to say something nice it would be the ladies at the front desk are always super nice and friendly.

They locked the doors at 6:30 pm on Saturday. The gym closes at 7 pm normally. If you going to lock the doors at 6:30 pm, change your hours to 6:30.

Do not sign a contract with the trainers. My trainer promised me a 3 month contract and then proceeded to not show up for 3 sessions, which I was billed for. And then they continued to bill me for 2 more months. The trainer quit and no one at the club would help me. The "temp" VP would not call me back. I had to get the corporate phone number from my credit card company because it's not listed anywhere. At corporate they gave me the run around and said they would refund me and then did not. And then said I was a no show for 3 sessions, when really it was the trainer. And then changed their story that I was trained by someone I never heard of and that because I showed up for my appointment and was not trained but scanned in that it was proof I was trained. Shadiest business I've ever dealt with. Do not use La Fitness or Esporta training services.

This is by far the jankiest LA Fitness in the area; it is the oldest, the bathrooms and locker rooms sorely need updates, some machines could be updated, and they could have repurposed the old smoothie stand and seldom-used kids area at any point in the last 2 years... BUT this is by far my favorite LA Fitness in the area. I love the green Astroturf space in the middle of the gym where I can do a variety of exercises with free weights without anyone else crowding my space. I love how everything is on one level, unlike KOP and Collegeville where everything is chaotically split into two levels. I can always get a treadmill or elliptical. Although old, it is very clean and I always see someone cleaning while I am there. I love the way this location is organized and I hope it never closes! Would be nice to get some updates at some point though… will update to 5 stars if that ever happens.

Let me start by saying: I've loved this gym.
The issues I've had stem from communication, especially surrounding childcare availability. I do believe this is a franchise-wide issue, and it's incredibly disappointing.
On multiple occasions I would show up with my son only to find that they weren't staffed to open the Kidz Zone. If you kids, you know that this goes beyond a normal inconvenience and is a waste of more time and energy than if you were flying solo - a simple e-mail, text, push notification could have simply saved a huge amount of time and frustration on everyone's part, and they just don't do it.
They have ultimately, without sharing any reason or notice, closed their childcare. They informed me that the closest club with childcare was King of Prussia - apparently they never called that location to confirm, because King of Prussia ALSO closed their child care.
Not only have they simply stopped offering the amenity that led me to enroll in their gym, they ALSO wasted a huge amount of my time and energy.

As a person who has patronized commercial gyms for 45 years, I've used a lot of different makes and models of exercise machines. One of my favorites seems to be getting phased out of the modern fitness center lineup, and that is the Body Masters 4-Way Hip - great combo of angles to keep the core and hip muscles strong! Sadly, this LA Fitness HAS one of these but has let it sit, in need of repair, for several months now. If you're going to keep it on the gym floor, why not fix it and make it available to the membership???

Honestly, one of the better if not the best LA’s in the area. Friendly staff and all of your basic amenities. Most of the weights and machines are a little older but they work just fine. They do have 3 new power racks for squatting/Olympic lifts and a very nice turf strip with a sled, tires, and plyo boxes. The gym and locker room is kept fairly clean, at least compared to other LAs I’ve been to in the area. I have a multi-club membership and this is the only LA I ever really go to anymore. Best part, it’s never super crowded.

My 4 star review is based on the new staff Gio the GM and Khaliah, the Operations Manager. I've been coming here consistently since March 2022, and I've seen about 5 GMs and 6 Ops, none completing anything they've said they were going to do. Since the arrival of these 2 the gym has started to look a lot cleaner, especially the floors and the bathroom which is a big petpeve of mine. This gym used to be packed back in the day but not so much anymore, which I don't mind because I can freely workout without waiting for equipment. I would be a 5 star if the sauna was updated or made larger, and newer equipment instead of out of service signs. I feel like it's back on the rise but needs a face-lift like the newer ones. I think corporate forgot this location started it all in this area... Bring it back to life

I’ve been an LA member for ten years now and have been to a handful of different locations. This one is towards the bottom of the list. Half of the treadmills have been out of service for over a year. Ones that do work are very old and don’t compare to the ones at newer locations. The floors around the pieces of equipment usually have a lot of dust accumulated. Temperature is usually on the hot side. Positive to this location is it typically isn’t over crowded like some locations get. Not the best gym but gets the job done.

This facility is poorly maintained. Cardiovascular equipment is always broken. There’s no signs they don’t fix things on time there’s rusty equipment it’s a cheap place to work out. It’s not reliable the staff is friendly, but they do nothing to fix the problem. It’s management responsibility to maintain a club don’t take your members for granted give them what they paid for reliable cleaning equipment so far you failed.

For a brief 2-month period, this location was starting to reverse a 10 year downward spiral. They had a bright, competent operations manager (Natalie); who got the sauna properly working for the first time in 10 years, had the top layer of mold removed from showers and locker rooms, burnt out lights and broken fixtures were replaced, and the pool water was actually clear!!! Alas, they moved her to King of Prussia and now the East Norriton location IMMEDIATELY started to decline precipitously. The sauna has not worked now for 6 weeks and counting. Things break, but there is no urgency to get it fixed. The first excuse was an electrical problem, which took 2 weeks to be proven untrue. Next, there was a plumbing problem, which also took 2 weeks to be proven untrue. The next story was that a blower pump was on back order. This may be true, but why did it take 4 weeks to get a proper diagnosis?
The pool heater has been broken for 3 weeks, creating another litany of lame excuses and broken promises for a repair date. Finally, members were told that the exhaust pipe was all rusted out. First, they were waiting for corporate to approve a repair, then just last week, someone was out to take measurements for a replacement. Who knows when the thing will actually get fixed. Meanwhile the pool water is 70 degrees with only a few brave souls entering. Apparently, it has not dawned on these people that the pool and sauna are the ONLY things that sets this place apart. If all members wanted was exercise equipment; CRUNCH is just 1/4 mile away with much newer machines and infinitely cleaner facility. Speak of equipment, most of the machines are over 20 years old... so old that parts are no longer available. Last week, a 75 y/o woman who has been using a treadmill there for almost 20 years was nearly seriously injured. She set the control on MANUAL (as she always does) and started her routine. After about 5 minutes, without touching a thing, the machine more than double the speed (from 2 mph to 5 mph). She held on for dear life and started to scream for help. Eventually, another member came to her aid. The management placed a very small "Maintenance Scheduled" sign on the machine, but the dashboard was still lit-up. However, was not UNPLUGGED until I complained a few days later. Are they really that foolish or just don't care about customer safety? Many machines are scheduled for maintenance... and have been for 24 months and counting. I brought in some WD40 from home to loosen some of the rusty/stuck pins that are used to set weights on various machines.
Before she left, I mentioned to Natale that all the soap dispensers in men's shower stalls just bubble. She told me that there are 2 types of soap dispensers that look EXACTLY alike, but one dispenses bubbles (for use in exercise areas) and one that dispenses a squirt of soap (for use in showers or sinks). EVERY SINGLE DAY FOR A FULL WEEK, I mentioned to EVERY manager and front desk person that the wrong soap dispensers were in the shower stalls. EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM PRETENDED TO CARE AND PROMISED THAT THE SITUATION WOULD BE REMEDIED. That was over a week ago. Clearly, local staff may not have much control over pool and sauna repairs, but they can certainly make sure that the proper dispensers are installed.
When I first joined this location, it was packed with members... people often had to wait to use some machines. Now it is a ghost town. I myself would join the legions who switched over to CRUNCH across the street. However, I get considerable pain relief from the pool and sauna (when they work) after a rigorous workout.
Over the years, this facility had a few very fine manager who endeavored to improved the place until they finally gave up. I wish them well.

My issue with this one is that the machines are dirty and HEAVILY rusted. There's no excuse for that. We pay enough that over time new and updated machines should be bought or better maintained so that your not holding onto handles that have pieces chipping off or rust so you're afraid to grip the machines.

The staff is very attentive to your needs, very kind and polite and very helpful! Alexsandra the (AGM) was very helpful made sure I had all my questions answered with no problems and gave me a tour of the place and I loved it so professional! Definitely somewhere I can come and be at peace!

This place is very unprofessional i had issue with before where someone was going to call me back and they didn’t and this is my second time calling and here it goes I have an accent and I called in to find out if they have a sauna / steam room in the Gym the person who answered the phone GREG KEPT TELLING ME HE CANT UBDERSTAND A WORD I AM SAYING FOR 5 mins than I spelled it to me and he still couldn’t understand it’s very sad how this people are so illiterate to not understand even the spelling if I could give zero star I would

I come to this gym a lot. Not just because it’s close to my house but because I enjoy the environment that they provide. Staff is very cool and always greet you in a pleasant way. Equipment could be cleaner but that’s like every other gym you’re not always gonna have spotless equipment. Overall the “gym culture” is well accepted here and never any issues as to how people work out as long as there’s no issues with other members. Been coming here for 3 years never any problems

Great place for working out, the gym and pool are well maintained. The turf area has plenty of equipment and weights. The locker rooms are very clean and well maintained.

They have zumba, kickboxing and group water fitness sessions.

The staff are really courteous, friendly and always greet you with a smile as your are entering the gym and leaving the gym.

Perfect gym for me. I always can get my workout done in an hour. No waiting on machines, or cardio equipment. Front desk staff very helpful and friendly. There has been some change over in personnel at the gym but all for the better. The locker rooms are a little outdated and dirty. Personal trainers are good, the training is a bit pricey though. I have been a member for over a year and have to say this is the best gym in the area. The only reason I did not give this location 5 starts is it needs some new equipment / machines and little improvements in the locker room.
