Life Time has a lot going for it, but a few key missteps prevent me from giving it a higher rating. The recent replacement of the indoor aquatics center hot tub with a cold plunge is a huge mistake that significantly diminishes the fitness center experience for mixed-sex couples and families - surely a huge portion of Life Time's demographic. It is a massive waste of resources and space for an amenity that is used by a small minority of gym-goers, that is only used for brief periods of time, and of which the benefits are scientifically questionable at best. Perhaps the money that went into chasing this fad and inconveniencing families and couples could have been better used to replace the mediocre machines and dirty free weights in the weight room.

Positives: great steam rooms, luxurious locker rooms, friendly staff, and convenient on-site spa. The outdoor aquatics center is top notch during the few months that it's open.

I’ve worn several hats at various PA Lifetime locations —client, staff member, and class participant—and can honestly say that the management is truly top-tier. Lance Vugteveen is a class act. Even during periods of change or challenging conversations, I have always had full trust in his leadership.

An honorable mention also goes to Amy Wareikis for her dedication to maintaining the King of Prussia club’s excellence. The pool facilities remain outstanding, client feedback is genuinely taken into account while still balancing business needs, and the club continues to bring in high-quality instructors who approach health holistically—mind, body, and more. I also appreciate that the team remains respectful if members decline additional promotional offerings.

Overall, this location sets a high standard and consistently delivers an exceptional experience.

Some older adult members in Lifetime’s Aurora community and I feel we are in disfavor as a popular Saturday am aqua aerobics class was rescheduled from 9 am to 8 am. Some members including myself cannot attend at the earlier hour. I was told the change was made so that the gym can accommodate individuals buying private swim lessons. Also the club closed their hot tub in favor of a cold plunge pool!

I am extremely disappointed with my experience at Lifetime. My designer ring was stolen while I was at the facility, and when I reported it, I was told I would hear back from the manager within 24 hours as she was going to check the cameras. A full week went by with no communication. Finally, I received nothing more than a brief email stating, “unfortunately we did not find anything.” There was no real follow-up, no accountability, and no genuine concern for the seriousness of what happened. This wasn’t a case of misplacing something, it was 100% stolen. I expected better from a company that promotes itself as a premium fitness club. Unfortunately, this experience has shown me that member safety and customer service are not a true priority here

I had my hair blown out by Erica while my arm was out of commission due to previous rotator cuff surgery. She was gentle and worked efficiently on my hair, avoiding my injured arm. We had positive conversation during my service, which I greatly appreciated. I highly recommend going to see her for your hair needs.”

On 8/19/2025, I went to the gym around 9:00 PM. After my workout, I took a shower. While I was shaving, I noticed a cleaning employee going through all the locked lockers, including mine, in the men's changing room. This occurred around 10:00 PM at Lifetime KOP. I am unsure whether he was looking for something specific or if this is a new procedure for employees to check locked lockers during gym hours.
I have been a member since the gym opened, and I have never seen anything like this before. Is this a new procedure? If so, it made me uncomfortable to see someone accessing my locker without any prior notice. I believe if employees need to check locked lockers, they should do so after the gym's operating hours.

I have reported this to the young lady at the front desk. She was not sure if this is a new procedure.

Beautiful facility and great classes

My husband and I could not love Lifetime Fitness more! From the moment you walk in, you're greeted with a squeaky-clean, state-of-the-art facility that feels more like a luxury resort than a gym. The atmosphere is elegant and inviting—truly more of a country club vibe—with stunning, expansive pools that are some of the most beautiful we’ve ever seen.

The staff are consistently kind, compassionate, and attentive. You can tell they genuinely love what they do, and it creates such a positive energy throughout the whole place. The location is incredibly convenient—central to everything—and the variety of fitness options feels endless. Whether you're into strength training, yoga, swimming, pickleball, pilates classes, or recovery, there's always something new to try. Boredom simply isn’t an option here.

Lifetime has truly raised the bar when it comes to health and wellness. We feel so lucky to be part of this community!

I’ve been a member at Life Time Wayne since around 2021, and I can confidently say this is the best gym in the area—nothing else comes close. The value is outstanding. From the dry heat sauna to the eucalyptus steam room, the amenities are top-notch.

The gym is spacious, and even during peak hours, I rarely have to wait for machines. The treadmills—easily 20+ of them—are the best I’ve ever used. They’re easy on the joints and help maximize calorie burn.

One caution: the basketball and pickleball courts can get intense. I was injured during a pickup basketball game and have seen others get seriously hurt. I'd recommend using the courts with care and avoiding overly competitive games unless you're prepared.

The staff and trainers are friendly and helpful. I’ve had no problem getting a spot for bench presses when I’ve asked.

Whenever I bring friends or family, they’re always impressed. Can’t wait to get back on the treadmill!

Parking has reached a critical point. At peak times, the parking lot is far past capacity. Increasingly anxious drivers are racing around, cutting each other off, honking. Everyone is trying to get to their class or PT appointment. Cars are parked in the loading zones and along the edges. This is all due to a long term plan to build LifeTime apartments on site, so half of the parking is gone.

Today I had a full body 65 minute massage with Eileen Brady and she was absolutely wonderful. I’ve been searching for someone who would be a right fit for a while now and I think I’ve found that. I’ve had my spine fused for 11 years now and Eileen was so considerate. She made sure to check in consistently about how pressure was feeling and how I was doing in general. We also talked about our personal lives and made me feel really valued. Would highly recommend for anyone looking for a high quality massage therapist.

I’ve also been seeing Clareanita for facials the last few months and she’s been great as well. She has gone above and beyond with her kindness.

Jasper at the front desk is also really kind and has great costumer service. He always remembers my name even after only coming once a month.

We had a great time over the summer at Lifetime with our 3 kids. It's a little pricy but you get what you pay for. Lifeguards were all very professional and seemed attentive. Really love the family restrooms/ changing rooms and towels provided- boy does that make life easier. Kids love the slides. The place is clean and well kept. It is probably the nicest gym I've ever been in. The kids activities are great too. I don't think my kids will not let me stick with the pool next summer. There is also a nice indoor pool.

Did a trial. Gym is okay but no where near the $199 + tax per month cost. Having been to other “signature” Life Times, I’d say this is on the lower end. For $2,400 a year, you’d like to see a lot of the weight equipment not be as old as it is.

Fifth. The Men’s locker room is dismal. Steam room, sauna and Spa smell’s like trash truck juice. Half the showers were broken leaving the rest dirty littered either with old towels wash cloths or dried soap from the last guest. Towels thrown all over the place. Post pandemic, how is this even allowed at a place that charges $200+ per month? Never going back here. My worst lifetime experience overall. Lifetime, do better! This is utterly ridiculous, horrendous and unacceptable!

DO NOT send your kids to this place! I had my son spend few days in summer camp last year. One day he got bullied by another kid, the camp team did not do anything just gave us a phone call stated the story. There is no apology from life time or the other kid’s parents. I requested to see the video, lifetime refused me. I asked the manager to give me a call to state what is going on, I never receive any call or any apology! Obviously the way to deal with this is very impropriate and very racist! The way the treat client is very cold blooded and unprofessional. Plus the camp schedule is always changing, they don’t really teach anything, very casual and unprofessional sports camp.

This company don’t provide service at all. I had Day Care camp in lifetime on 2023, when it comes to the tax season, I called few times to ask the tax ID, each department was kicking the ball, left message to the manager, and the general manager, nobody even picked up call or called me back. Today is the last day of the tax season, I called, expressed my disappointments and hope anybody can give me a simple tax ID, the front desk was very arrogant, she speaks like I have to bag her and her manager , don’t care about business at all, nobody in this company, cares about business and the reputation. What a great company, the treat customer as trash. This cold blooded company only cares about money. Bad management, bad company culture. It’s a shame this kind of company exists in our neighborhood.

My husband took my daughter to her first art class (she is four going on five) and while she was there, she fell and ripped a large chunk of skin off of her elbow. Kids have accidents, and that is not the problem. The problem is that my pre-K kid had the awareness to ask the employees to call her dad (who was waiting in the hallway) and to NOT put a bandaid on her because she knows she is extremely allergic to bandaid adhesive. They ignored this, and by the time my husband came in she was sobbing and on the SECOND bandaid because she had taken the first one off. None of the employees were able to explain what happened and no one called my husband through all of this. He just showed up to pick her up after class and found her distraught. My daughter was so upset that the adults around her didn’t listen to her. Also, apparently they do not ask for allergy info or if they can medically treat your child?! This was upsetting for all of us. Lifetime comped her month of membership, but $50 isn’t going to matter when my kid refuses to ever go back to a class and when I wouldn’t let her go back anyway.
We’ve been members for over a year and we tolerated the general chaos and lack of cleanliness (there was so much dust on the vent next to me in the yoga studio that I actually struggled to breathe and the hot tubs are as filthy as the other reviews show), but this was just too far. Don’t accept children if you don’t know how to care for them or your staff isn’t trained for them

The already outrageous fees are skyrocketing, meanwhile the quality of the facility and the features are constantly getting worse. The guest policy was decent but became abysmal. I’ve never seen a gym so happy to get rid of ppl before closing… ESP not one this expensive! I spent a month out of state recently the local pool cost $24. The limited hours, dirty pool/locker room & minimal amenities still made for a vastly better experience.
The night staff, from front desk to lifeguards to others, are incredibly rude. I’ve been swimming at this time for 5 years, so
I know when they close. I’ve never left even 1 min after closing. Despite this, pool staff stalks my workout, paces alongside my lane, staring conspicuously at the clock, putting the cleaning machine IN THE WATER NEXT TO ME, etc. It feels like they want to frustrate me into leaving; I pay $200+/mo for the privilege.
For the hour before close, 6 WEIRDLY LONG announcements are made via loudspeaker. Each begins with a long, loud & high-pitched BEEEEP; staff then reads the following: “Good evening, Lifetime members & guests. The time is now 11 PM. Lifetime Fitness closes will close at 12am, which is 60 mins from now. If all patrons could have their workouts & showers completed before we close at 12, we’d gladly appreciate it. Please make sure to take all of your belongings with you when you leave at close. We’d like to thank you for working out at Lifetime Fitness. The club will reopen at 5am tomorrow morning for your convenience.”

As an example, if they close at 12, this plays at 11, 1115, 1130, 1145… and then it really gets crazy! They read it again at 1150, 1155 & 12am. Even if u arrive more than 1 hr before close, the front desk person couldn’t look MORE annoyed. Sometimes, they reiterste the closing time, even if u joined 5 yrs ago, come at the same time every day & always leave before close.

At first; they trusted u to manage ur time & leave by close (w/ the help of the announcements, of course). My swim was relaxing, the pool was a nightly solace & I recommended Lifetime to many.

They started closing the pool 15 mins before close when summer ended. Pool staff enforced this with aggressive & startling tactics: if ur not out of the pool BEFORE the 15 min warning, they may grab ur leg, bend down to blow a long, loud whistle 2 ft from u, slap a buoy in the water, or just yell till u surface).

The gym is supposed to relieve stress, but I’m MORE angry & tense when I leave these days, and it costs me $200 a month. I’ve been trying to stick it out because it used to be so nice, but it’s time to accept facts & find another pool. Last time I looked, most were too expensive, too far away, or both. I know some others have opened; LA fitness is nearby, there’s the Y, and even some community centers. There are prob other boutique fitness centers like Lifetime, with a less hostile staff who doesn’t interrupt ur workout with beeps & not-subtle reminders to GTFO. I just wanna use the facility I pay for during operating hours; this is not too much to ask, and Lifetime doesn’t have a premium on it… If you ask me, they don’t offer it at all.

Until I find the right fit elsewhere, I’ll stick around; swimming is an important part of my life & they could make changes to staff or policies. However, I’m willing & happy to pay the same (or more) if staff hostility is minimal, startling & invasive workout interruptions are rare, and unwelcome, unexpected physical contact from staff DOES NOT HAPPEN. No customer should pay to be treated this way; the current services Lifetime offers swimmers are absolutely, unquestionably not worth $200/month.

Guest policy has completely turned me off. My father was staying with me for 2 weeks and when I took him to the gym for just the second time during his stay they refused to admit him under their once every 60 days guest policy. I’m paying over $300 a month in my small family Lifetime dues and I can’t even bring an old man with me twice within a 60 day period? Insanity.

★ 1

Great facility but major drawbacks. Overall experience has been great as a founding member, but club enhancements continue to be focused on minority of membership group while basic offerings and standards continue to decline while membership prices increase, 3X in last 6 months. Management provides canned responses to inquiries with empty apologies and no action. Heaters in Sauna and Yoga room are continually down. Pools are consistently closed for maintenance. Equipment breakdowns are handled in reactive manner rather than proactive. Requests for cold tub are met with response that no club reconfigurations are being considered, yet basketball courts were permanently converted to pickleball courts upon request.

Teachers and trainers are amazing. they are what keep members like me staying. But I would change in a second if competing clubs in the area would simply change their opening hours to match LT (4am - other area clubs don't open until 7am on weekends). They are also a few popular instructor exits away from a mass exodus.

They don't take private inquiries seriously so hopefully public ones will finally get their attention.

The main differences between this facility and the one in Fort Washington are:
- This one has 3 floors (1 extra), with most of the studios moved to the 3rd floor
- The 3rd floor has a boxing area with more punching bags and 2 speed bags
- The 3rd floor has an outdoor studio/patio
- There are dedicated squash courts on the ground floor
- Even though there’s more room on the /nd floor, there is more variety for weight lifting machines, or more of them. So for example, there is still in one machine for an crunches (and typically a line to use it). The extra space is mostly taken by additional treadmills.
- There’s a lot more traffic getting to/from here if you’re coming from outside the local King of Prussia area

I wish that for a larger facility like this there would be duplicate machines for the ones with heavier traffic. Otherwise, a smaller facility with fewer members will usually have shorter/no wait times.

I'm giving two stars because the childcare is exceptional. Children's membership is $50 a month with access to daily classes, parents night out events, and an indoor maze. It's a safe & fun environment and the staff is friendly and accommodating.

The gym itself has a wide variety of equipment.

However, for $200 a month the locker rooms are disgusting. I don't think it's ever cleaned. Each time I visit it's dirtier than the previous visit. The hot tub in the women's locker room is filthy and smells awful. The sauna is covered in black mold. I also use the Ardmore facility which is spotless and mold free. For the price of membership, the facility should be clean and sanitary. LA Fitness is cleaner than this.

Extremely snobby group of ladies at the front desk who looked down their noses at me for requesting a complimentary tour. If you’re thinking of doing the same - be prepared to be interrogated about whether you plan to become a member, when you plan to sign on etc. A gym that clearly has no interest in entertaining potential new customers.

This is my favorite Lifetime location of them all! The management here is super nice and professional. I actually worked as a pool concierge over the summer of 2022 which was super neat. The cafe can be expensive but it sure is a nice addition. There are saunas, steam rooms, basketball courts, pickleball courts, an outdoor and indoor pool, and so much more.

I am telling you and doing you a favor. Do not sign up. I have been a founding member since they opened and they have increased my membership dues five times so far. Which means they will do this to you too. They will make great excuses to why and give you reasons why but will never give you what you had before they made changes a lot worse.
They are so suppose to close at midnight every day including the weekends. Since COVID, they took those hours away and close at 10 pm on the weekends. I run my own business and cannot make it there in the weekends because by 8 or 9 pm when I am done there isn’t enough time. But had they not changed their hours and do close at midnight, I could make it on Saturday and Sunday. They are on their second general manager and he is not any better. His focus is on sales and new members. Doesn’t care about keeping current members there. Place is not as clean and when things are broken, they take forever to fix. I need to find another place that closes at midnight everyday or 24 hours with the same amenities. Once that happens I cannot wait to be gone! And I will be sure to update my review and let you know where the new place is so u can get what was promised in the beginning!

1. I would give five stars solely based on the broad selection of fitness classes at this gym. The chances of finding an instructor that you love are high.

2. Two stars removed for the following reasons — despite the insane monthly membership costs, the yoga studio consistently smells like feet and the showers in the locker room are dilapidated and of questionable cleanliness. Considering the price of a membership, one would think the showers would be maintained and, at minimum, an air purifier placed in the yoga studio.

Secondly, their guest “benefits” are ridiculous. There is a “60 day per guest” policy for the two guest passes given per month, which basically means Lifetime is looking for you to do their sales and marketing for them.

Furthermore, there is no way for the app to track which guests you’ve signed in and when, meaning if you’d like to bring a significant other or friend to the gym, you need to track their frequency on your own time. If you’re not carefully tracking your guest attendance like it’s your period, you risk having them show up only to be told no because they had been to the gym 5 weeks prior. The rule is so unnecessary and embarrassing, and because there’s no way for members to track their guests, it inevitably results in awkward missteps. Because even when you have two guest passes to use in the month, your guest may not be allowed in.

LOVE this gym. Wish members had more than 1 buddy pass per 60 days. I'm not a member but went with a friend. I was excited to hear about the hip hop step class during the barbell class, I was gonna try that one too later this week but won't be able too. I am a member at LaFitness because it's my neighborhood gym, would be nice to pop in and workout with my friend once in a while. I really loved the gym though!!! 5 stars. I would have definitely stayed longer if I'd known I wouldn't be able to workout with her again for another 60 days (sad face emoji)

I was getting ready to get a membership. Until I read the reviews. You guys made it 1 basketball court now? That’s crazy to me. But yaull want people to pay so much. How can somebody come in work on there game or practice. That’s crazy. Unbelievable. And the courts are only open from 3-6 that’s sad

I used to enjoy coming to this gym a lot because I genuinely thought it was a solid facility that had everything I was looking for. Equipment, basketball courts, Top-notch trainers, and a convenient café were all reasons that I enjoyed going here and loved making it part of my daily routine.

Over the last few months, I found that I can't defend some of the decisions LifeTime management has made. Pickleball is a growing sport and I acknowledge that. Originally, the conflict was between pickleball and basketball players and sharing the courts. Basketball players were being turned away and told the courts were reserved for pickleball. Mind you there are 2 full size courts here and many members sign up for the sole purpose of playing basketball. To address this, management made the decision to renovate the basketball courts so that it would be a permanent half-basketball/ half-pickleball layout. I applaud this decision as this was the best way to appease both groups of players.

Fast forward to now and Basketball players are once again being turned away from the courts. The single court dedicated for basketball usage is reserved from 3-6pm Mon-Fri. Most people get finished with work between that time and the issue is that as members, we should not have to plan our schedules around the availability of the courts. For the price of membership, we should be able to access the courts whenever we want, especially during prime gym time. When I brought this up with the front desk, I was told that this unavailability was "for the foreseeable future."

This review isn't just a jab at the basketball court issue, but that was the tipping point which prompted this review. Over the last year, I've noticed minor inconveniences that just kept adding up. Equipment has been degrading/broken and I never noticed it before. Some equipment display screens have been non-functional for months with no repairs mentioned. Prices in the café are insane for the amount they give you. They also limit you to two guest pass per month and limit you to the same person once every 60 days. That's not the best policy. Look, I understand that a lot of these issues are common at most gyms, but for the rising prices of membership, I expect at least the same quality as before which I don't feel like many members are getting.

The thing that is keeping me there are the trainers. The trainers are awesome individuals that genuinely care about you and your fitness. They are very knowledgeable people and when they aren't with clients, they are walking around and assisting members and asking if they need anything. They create a very positive/welcoming atmosphere on the gym floor and I've even become friends with some of them. If you want to get into fitness and are willing to tolerate the prices and the other issues I mentioned, I highly encourage you to talk to some of the trainers on staff.

Until things change with the inconveniences however, I can't currently recommend LT to prospective members. For the prices of membership, access to equipment and facilities should just be assumed. The best way I can summarize everything is that the current LT model seems very sales/money motivated and not fitness/health motivated.

Edit: To address the response from the owner: There really is no point in a discussion. You claim to represent all of your members yet the basketball players have been continuously affected by your team's decisions. I know I am one person and losing my membership won't mean much to you in the grand scheme of things. But by leaving this review up I can hopefully reach a few people to help them make an informed decision when considering this facility for business.

Update: Management promptly reached out to me to discuss what I mentioned in my review, which I appreciate!
—————
I just joined. No doubt this is a beautiful facility—you feel it via its price too. Currently, the rate is $189 a month per person; $269 a month per couple, excluding Pilates group class and outdoor pool initiation fee (which is one-time $200 per person). There is a small junior or senior discount.

I didn't give it five stars, not really because of its price, but because of some minor issues:
1) parking lot can be pretty crowded;
2) sales vibe is a bit too strong for my taste;
3) some minor repairs should be done--for example, today was my first time using the locker room, and the locker I used happened to be missing one door hinge (women's locker #161);
4) the facility could make use of more signs for new members. Of course, I can ask people working at the desk where the class is, but as a shy person, I prefer to find things on my own.

I'm planning to work with a personal trainer to get me on the right track. I find their PT price quite high ($120 or $140 per session), but again everything is supposed to be upscale, so I am not really surprised.

If there's anything I wish they had but they don’t, it would be adult swimming classes. I can swim but I want to improve my technique, especially with my freestyle.

I have been a member at this location for 5+ years and have been happy over that period, with basketball being my main activity. For the exorbitant price that they charge (which they continue inflating) you would think that good customer service and communication would be there. Instead, despite paying extra to play in a on-site league, we are told that they are completely removing one of the two basketball courts that we use, forcing us to miss time for our league and altering our schedule going forwad. There was no discussion or communication prior to this decision being made and no consideration given the fact that we have been playing basketball there for years. Communication from current management to many in our basketball community can be summed up as "we have already made this decision, deal with it" and no actual engagement on our concerns about the effect to our already existing schedule and community. If management does not meaningfully engage with us beyond sending us all the same email and responding to these reviews with the same text, I suspect they will see a change to their constituency.

Horrible decision making at the upper level. Taking a basketball court away for pickleball when they already use portable nets that work perfectly fine and already take up the gym every day of the week. On top of taking this away which is why many people sign up they continue to INCREASE the membership. Never will understand the logic and will lose a strong basketball community. Glorified LA fitness if you aren’t a pickleball fanatic. “The fastest growing sport in America”. Also the sauna and hot tub is broken every couple weeks. The pandemic must have hit them hard.

Being greeted upon entering any facility with a front desk is the simplest courtesy a business could possibly offer. I honestly believe it’s race related with this place, it’s always the same few blonde women at the front desk who seem to be frustrated at the idea of a simple hello or goodbye. I to own a business and I wouldn’t fathom someone coming into my place of business without being greeted. It’s disgusting and leaves a poor taste in the customers mouth. I get so annoyed every time I come or go and these women are at the front desk. You can literally see the disdain in their faces and it’s truly a shame, at least try and hide it with a smile.

Was a longtime member of Lifetime athletic KOP. Even wrote a great review a few years ago about how much I enjoyed the facility, staff, and class offerings. But I had to cancel my membership in December 2021 after a death in the family. I reached out to rejoin and instead of being charged the $139.00 I was charged in December, now in March its $169.00. If I had known this, I would have just frozen my membership previously. Super disappointed.

This rating reflects the service of an individual sales agent & not the KOP gym itself.

Avoid working with sales agent TK. TK opened up an account for me, therefore adding to his commission - I canceled my membership about 2 weeks after & opened another one up at a different location with my entire family. Because that affected his commission, he went out of his jurisdiction to create problems for me.

TK knew it was wrong & he did not have the authority to do so, however still pursued. I came for the service & luxurious amenities but was disappointed from the service I received. Completely unprofessional & disappointing. I don’t know another gym that will make it difficult for a family to stay together & work out.
