I have been training with Lou for a little under 2 years now, and my experience has been overwhelmingly positive. As a former a collegiate athlete, I had a fairly strong dislike for weight training due to some bad coaching experiences. Since joining Lift & Live, I have completely changed my mind. I now have a stronger passion for overall health and fitness and truly enjoy lifting weights. I look forward to my personal training session every week. All interactions with Lou, Larah, other staff, and other clients are always pleasant.

Lou has been instrumental in helping me build strength and put on muscle mass. He always provides useful advice on nutrition, recovery, and of course lifting technique. I am now stronger than I ever have been and it shows in other activities such as skiing, mountain biking, and even running.

I cannot recommend Lift & Live enough if you are looking for a team to help you get on track with your fitness goals!

I do a lot of public presentations and conduct sales meetings. Looking my best on stage is critical and establishes credibility among men and women. Lou and Lara at Fit and Live Fitness are very methodical at what they do and the way they train. If you want to be on the top of your game and join the top 1% of Americans who are in shape, take advantage of their expertise. It is a small investment for a huge return. And really folks ... not that hard to do.

I don’t really enjoy exercise and really need to be accountable to someone every week to ensure I do it. So, 4 years ago through a recommendation from a friend, I began my health and fitness journey with Lift and Live Fitness. I have trained with both Larah and Brenda and have only the most wonderful things to say about both of them. As co-owner, Larah is invested in her clients and her passion for health and fitness is infectious. In training sessions with her she always challenged me more than I would challenge myself. She educated me on weight lifting and adjusted our workouts based on what areas I wanted to improve. I worked out with her through my first pregnancy and she was a wealth of knowledge and helped me stay fit. For the past 2+ years I have trained once a week exclusively with Brenda and have made tremendous progress with her and love training with her! I have actually started to enjoy weight lifting, thanks to her simple yet effective workouts, and have learned so much from her that I actually can replicate her workouts at my work gym. She trained me through my 2nd pregnancy and once I returned and finally got serious about my nutrition, she has helped me lose over 15 pounds and have started to transform my body. I still have a lot of work to do to get to my goal, but I am stronger, leaner, and for the first time in a long time, I don’t hate what I see in the mirror. Also, this wouldn’t be a complete post if I didn’t mention that due to my success and commitment to Lift and Live Fitness, my husband started to train with Lou a few years ago and really enjoys his weekly sessions too.

L&L has given me hope again; hope that I can get back into shape and feel better not only physically, but mentally as well. I’ve been training with Brenda for over 8 months and am so grateful for her expertise and understanding. Being in my early 50’s I have a few physical limitations; i.e., ACL reconstruction, neck and low back issues, so initially I was concerned that I would be pushed too hard and potentially cause more problems. Brenda is great! She does push me, and she has learned when my whining is just me being lazy, versus me having pain. The best thing is she doesn’t just bypass those types of exercises and works to find other ways to work the same muscles without causing pain. In 8 months I have seen great improvement in myself and believe that Brenda is primarily responsible for that…I know it was me too, but I don’t think I would have stuck with it if I was pushed too hard. My relationship with Brenda has grown more than her being my trainer and I consider her a good friend.

My journey with Lift & Live started about 2.5yrs ago and I personally feel it is the best investment I’ve made for MYSELF. I’ve been training with Brenda ever since and she is the best fitness instructor, nutritionist and mentor. Right from the start, she was able to design a personalized fitness plan based on my goals and sustainability. She has helped me create a sustainable, healthy and fit lifestyle and continues to help me become stronger physically and mentally. She has a quiet, calm personality and listens to your needs and continues to challenge you with her workouts. I will proudly say that I have not missed a single session at Lift & Live unless for family vacations or personal reasons and she deserves all due credit for that.

After knee surgery and 5 months of physical therapy, I began training with Brenda to further strengthen and stabilize my knee. Brenda has been very thoughtful in developing a training program that slowly but steadily improves my strength, stability, and balance, without risking further injury to my knee. After 10 months with Brenda, I am amazed at the progress I've made not only with my knee, but in my overall fitness. Brenda takes the time to answer all my questions and makes sure I am comfortable with the program she's developed. She'll makes changes as needed to ensure I'm completely confident in what I'm doing. I just finished the 6 wk challenge at Lift & Live. I have had the best experience with Larah and Nichole (even lost 4 lbs).They are very knowledgeable of anatomy and muscle development. They show you the proper way to do each exercise and they explain why you are doing each exercise. I love how they are right there doing each exercise with you. If you form is not correct they will correct it right away.. Great experience!!

Larah gets it – she has 2 small children and runs a business – and doesn’t lay out some unrealistic nutrition/workout plan that isn’t sustainable for the every-day person. She is real and honest (brutally when she needs to be, and I need it!), but above all she is truly passionate about what she does – which is changing bodies, minds, hearts and lives. It has been a year since I broke my foot and started working full time. Its been a year since I worked out on a regular basis. I knew I needed to do something. I did not want to be that person that couldn't find the time to work out. The person who surrenders to I am getting older. Then I found a 6 week challenge at Lift and Live fitness. I was able to talk 2 friends into joining with me and what an awesome 6 weeks it has been. Larah and Nicole are very knowledgeable trainers, I learned new ways to work my body, I looked forward to every work out. Each work out was modified to work for everyone in the class. Each week was a stepping stone for the next week. My main goal was to get there 3 times a week which I did with an added bonus of a 5.5 pound weight loss, a 3.7% reduction in body fat and a total of 6 inches off my body. I secretly believe I have one more marathon in me and with the help of Lift and Live fitness I now feel this is possible

I just finished up the 6 week group training (ladies only) at L&L fitness, which ran from Thanksgiving to Christmas. Over the six weeks, I enjoyed Larah's expertise - each week she focused on something different, from stamina to endurance to strength. Even though this was Larah's first attempt at group training, you would have never known that based on her preparedness and professionalism. It was nice to meet and work out with women who want to empower themselves and others through exercise. I am looking forward to the next 6 weeks!

I'm open to change and I like calling the shots, so when a Group Training was offered to me, I wasn't too sure I wanted to go from private training to group. But, I stepped out of my comfort zone and jumped into one of the best "perfect-sized" small group training's that I looked forward to every single time! Lead by Larah, who was so prepared and so wanting the best for us, it was a win-win. Each week themed; each week targeting something new and every week focused on our overall mind and body. Loved this experience so much and am thankful for the changes it delivered for me. More lean muscle, stronger abs, weight loss and the practice of taking time for calm each day. Love L&L, both the studio and the owners. I recently completed a 6 week ladies only group session and can’t wait for the next one! The craziest time of year, from thanksgiving to New Years, working out 2-3 times a week helped me in so many ways. Obviously physically but also mentally as I was able to put myself first a few hours a week and found that I had more focus and energy afterwards to do what needed to be done for my family and to help Santa. Larah is a wealth of knowledge and the studio offers the complete package, effective exercise, nutritional info, modifications if needed, but mostly the dedication and support of their clients. Larah believed in me more than I believed in myself and she pushed me to be a better me!

I didn't know what to expect when I first arrived at L&L for my evaluation, since I have always done group classes and had reached a plateau with fitness that I thought was it, but I was very pleasantly surprised. After my evaluation I knew this was the place for me - I learned so much in that first session and did things I didn't know my body could do - I was hooked. Lou and Larah are great and make you feel very welcome! Larah has taught me so much in the 3-4 months I have been training there and I have progressed more than I ever thought possible. The training sessions and small classes really motivate me to push myself both physically, mentally and also with my diet - I want to eat better because I feel better and I want to give my body the nutrition it needs to thrive not just function. Training is tailored to your specific goals and includes nutrition guidance and personal training as well as small group classes and even Team L&L challenges and Fitranx that allow you to keep yourself motivated and set goals! Larah is great at helping me understand the function of each exercise and guides me to make sure I am using the correct muscles and how to adjust if I am experiencing any discomfort or feeling the 'wrong' muscles. Because of this, I have a much better understanding of my body, how exercises should feel and how to adjust my positioning if I need to. I really cannot say enough about training at L&L except that I am excited to keep training and learning and if you haven't trained here yet, you should try it out!!

I never wanted to be strong or especially thin. I went to them to be healthy. Thanks to Lou & Larah they helped make this a reality.
