My daughter is in her 3rd season at Living Arts Dance and she loves it! The staff as well as the techniques that are taught are diverse and unique. The owner Ms. JaQuetta and Ms. Lia are welcoming and patient with not only my child but me lol. After my daughter’s first year at LAD I noticed a boost in her confidence not only at dance but in her overall! I can’t recommend LAD enough. If you are looking for a place to have your little dancer blossom…look no further LAD is it!

Living Arts Dance Studio surpasses any expectation I had. The studio cultivates a beautiful community my daughter and I are lucky to be a part of. Jaquetta Colson takes the well being of each dancer as her responsibility. She cultivates amazing joy and talent. She understands the different needs of each dancer. Go to a performance if you can. I am blown away each time. Also, adult dance classes are super fun. Couldn’t recommend more.

Absolutely love my experiences at Living Arts! This is the second dance studio I tried with my daughter and EVERYTHING about it is exactly what we were looking for in a studio. They offers so many class and the competition team has performed all over the city and competed across the country. From my very first inquiry I was impressed with how information was shared. Since we started at the studio my daughter has improved tremendously! She came home from her observation class so excited! The staff pour so much love and dedication into the students and you can see it in her growth. She loves it there. They make you feel like family. The owner treats the students as if they are her own. Everytime drop my daughter off I know she is in great hands.

We worked with Jaquetta from Living Arts Dance to choreograph our first dance at our wedding. I could not recommend her more! We only had 2 (very affordable) lessons, and we were in great shape! She helped us find the moves that worked for us. With her help, we felt confident and our first dance went perfectly! Everyone was very impressed. I would recommend working with Living Arts Dance to choreograph a dance, or just for some group dance lessons. Jaquetta is amazing!

We joined Living Arts a few months before the quarantine started. It was our 5 year olds first time trying any sort of organized dance classes. From the first email we had with Ms. Jaquetta she was nothing but helpful and inviting, even when I asked a million questions. We had maybe 5 classes in the studio before we had to start classes from home because of Covid 19. Everyone was always helpful and the little ones seem to all enjoy being at the studio. Once classes moved to Zoom, Ms. Jaquetta has kept constant communication with parents and holds multiple weekly dance classes for all ages including stretch classes. During this trying time it’s nice to see a someone doing all they can to keep the little ones involved and give them something to look forward to while keeping some sort of normalcy. AND for providing an activity for our kids so parents can get a small break! We are very thankful for the the teachers dedication, passion and the family we are becoming a part of within Living Arts Dance. THANK YOU!

Living Arts Dance Inc. is the BEST dance studio in Philadelphia! I have purchased several drop in Adult courses from ballet to hip-hop to African. The Adult dance instructors are very knowledgeable, well experienced, and provide quality choreography. I am in no way a trained dancer, but I have always felt welcomed by the LAD Inc Community and encouraged to my best.
Every so often, LAD Inc. will host a special event with a featured dance instructor (a talented/popular) dancer that is visiting Philadelphia). I appreciated those dynamics infusions of dancers and skills… It is innovative and keeps the LAD Inc curriculum fresh.
I have also had the pleasure of watching many of the children’s’ classes and have been impressed with the different instructors’ levels of patience, care and attentiveness. LAD Inc. curriculum is a well-rounded and comprehensive program at every level and culminates in an amazing dance recital at the end of the school year. Their students are some of the most talented, hardworking, and poised group of dancers in the city.
The owner of Living Arts Dance Inc. has created a non-profit foundation that helps raise funds to supplement the tuition & fees of the enrolled dancers. The foundation also offers a week long cultural immersion trip, exposing the young dancers to the music and movements from countries around the world. I was honored to chaperone a trip to Costa Rica a few years ago. That life-changing experience allowed me to learn so much more about music and movement… and has endeared the program to me ever since.
I encourage anyone to try their sample classes for students, visit their open house events, or just directly drop-in to an dance class.

Living Arts Dance Studio is a wonderful place to send your child where they can learn Acro, Tap, Ballet, Jazz, and so much more. My daughter has been there three seasons and she loves it. I love it! They have a beautiful studio and great instructors. It feels good to be able to send my daughter to a school where she will get quality dance instruction. They offer summer camp as well as financial assistance. At the end of every season there is always a recital and an awards ceremony where all of the children are acknowledged for their hard work and dedication. Ms. Jacquetta is great. She’s very helpful and takes a personal interest in all of the students. She genuinely wants them to do well. If you’re looking for a safe environment to send your child where he/she can get quality dance instruction, then Living Arts is for you!

It’s everyone’s home away from home. The environment here is super loving and caring. It’s not like other studios where you never see the owner, she’s there all the time to help your child with there dance journey and to make sure everyone is getting what they came for. A judgment free place for all ages. She really does care for all the kids and you can tell she loves what she does. As an alum from the studio I’m always welcomed back with open arms and loving support. I would recommend living arts to anyone looking for low prices for quality technique and service !

I LOVE this studio and everything about it! Our daughter has been coming to Living Arts Dance studio since 3 years old. She has taken Ms. Jaquetta's ballet/jazz class each year and now in her 4th year, is now taking hip-hop & African dance as well as tap. Our daughter has loved Ms. Jaquetta and her class since her first year, and has asked us each year to please make sure, "I am in Ms. Jaquettas class!"

Our daughter was old enough to attend dance camp this summer and this was a really great overall experience for not only her, but for our family. I loved dropping her off every morning and being greeted by the owner, Jaquetta, who is ALWAYS bright, kind, cheerful and welcoming. In addition to this, the students, instructors and parents were all warm and friendly. One thing I loved seeing was how happy and excited the students seemed to be there! Dance camp exposed our 6 year old daughter to ballet, jazz, yoga, hip-hop, african dance, tap and acrobatics and she loved it. In addition to this, summer camp offers flexible hours and very reasonable pricing. There is a trip each week, and they are all awesome! I think all of the kids (and parents-yes there are opportunities for parent chaperones) have so much fun on the trips. The students also get to go to a local pool a day each week, which is great for summer time. We felt like our daughter was not only safe each day, but more than that, that we were leaving her somewhere where she could grow physically and mentally, and also have so much fun for summer!

The studio has moved to a NEW, nearby location and it is just beautiful. There is free parking available near the studio as well. The cost is very reasonable and all supplies are available to purchase right at the studio (leotards, tights, shoes; etc) and if anything needs to be ordered, the process has always been seamless.

The owner of Living Arts Dance Studio is so lovely! Just a beautiful person inside and outside. In the years our daughter has attended, we have heard her use the words, "dance family," and "my dance babies" so much, and it always makes us smile. It's so good to know that she truly means it, too-it's very obvious how much she cares about her students and staff. The director and all of the staff are all very professional and caring-pushing students to learn, grow and have fun both in and outside of the studio.

We are excited for another year at Living Arts Dance Studio!

My daughter has enjoyed attending Living Arts Dance Studio for the last three years. The instructors are great and work well with the children. The dance studio is a warm and family-welcoming atmosphere. Parents feel included and supported when information is shared out regarding recital information, dance pictures, and upcoming events. I recommend this dance studio if you're looking for an overall positive experience for you and for your children as he or she learns the techniques, genres, and team-building skills needed for them succeed in dance.

Living Arts is a great place to be if you want to dance professionally or if you just want to have fun. I am currently a student on scholarship and wouldn’t want to be anywhere else. The teachers and my director, Ms.Jaquetta, has taught me a lot about myself and world around me. It’s one thing to give out scholarships but it’s another thing to step out of your way to teach a child about life.

I am currently a scholarship competition team student at living arts dance and I have grown so much since I’ve been here. During my time here i’ve felt very comfortable and welcomed here. This studio isn’t any ordinary studio it’s a family and it’s gives many opportunities for growth like volunteering at shelters which really opened my eyes. We have a competition team and compete and perform in many different places that showcase our different genres of dance. I’ve been given many scholarships that allowed me to continue to take classes.

I have been part of the Living Arts Dance family from the very beginning, about 14 years. The staff is very professional and talented. They treat every child as if they were their own. I have seen how the energy and atmosphere has changed the lives of so many young people. It is a place where the children can express and grow creative talents. It also teaches them self-love and boost their self-esteem. I highly recommend this studio for your little one. Trust me they will grow is so many different ways.

Living Arts Dance Studio is more than a dance studio, it's a family. Ms. Jaquetta has created an atmosphere for dance that allows students to develop their natural dance skills. Both of my daughters have been dance for Living Arts for three years now and they love ever moment of it. The dance instructor are amazing and so is the overall quality of the instruction. I love this studio and enjoy seeing my daughters develop their skills....They have amazing opportunities for teens as well. Teens not only dance, they are mentored and even have access to international travel opportunities. Thank you Ms. Jaquetta and Living Arts for all that you do.

I am appalled with some of these reviews I'm reading. My daughter who is now 6 has been going since she was 2 years old. I can't speak for the other instructors but Jacquetta is very friendly and welcoming. Parents these days expect people to baby and pacify their kids and its ridiculous! She offers a free session for all newcomers starting at 2 years old to allow your child the opportunity to see if shes ready to be in a structured learning environment. Jacquetta is patient but she also does not allow a bunch of interruptions or nonsense in her class as she is trying to teach. If your child cannot follow instructions and needs a lot of special attention maybe you should seek private individual lessons and not group classes!

Just left a class, had to walk out after 30min. Terrible course. If you want to learn adult intro dance please go somewhere else. In a class of 3 people my request for help with the moves was ignored. Not worth the time, money, or trip through town.

This was our three year old daughter's first dance class and we highly recommend this for any young dancer getting their start. Ms. Jaquetta works really well with the class and the kids really have a great time. The work put into the recital simply amazed me and all of the skill levels impressed. We look forward to next year and recommend that you take a trial class before committing 100%.

Living Arts is one of the best dance studios on the map. The owner, Ms. Jaquetta Colson is phenomenal. She puts a lot into her students. She treats them all as her own and pushes them to strive way beyond their own expectations. The students that attend this studio are encouraged to set high standards in both their academic education and dance education.

The teachers are amazing and from all different dance backgrounds. The teachers work extremely hard, building the minds and bodies of the students, while encouraging the students to enjoy dancing. It not always easy and you have to be on pointe (lol). They are dedicated in making sure the students are strong and developed in their technique.

The studio is very welcoming. You will always find a parent willing to help or share. For your convenience, supplies are available at the studio. Items may be ordered if out of stock and available to you within a short period of time. Everything you need is at your fingertips. My daughter goes through a lot of dance tights and I have been able to walk in and purchase a pair whenever needed.

Living Arts has allowed my child to obtain amazing dance techniques and become well educated in the art of dance, all while creating the most incredible bonds with old and new friends. She's an only child with many dance sisters. I couldn't ask for a better group of friends or adult role models.

Wait!!!! They also have DROP IN CLASSES for adults!!!! Ms. Jaquetta has drop in classes for adults from ballet to hip-hop to African. I took one African class so far. Looking to taking another in the future. I encourage anyone that is interested to come learn a new dance and come make a friend or two. You will definitely have an enjoyable workout.

I can't understand how anyone would consider giving Living arts dance studio 5 stars. The owner of the facility Jaquetta personality stinks just like her professionalism. From the first day my daughter and I met her during orientation, she came off very rude and snobbish. I purchased my daughters shoes and dance wear from her after the orientation session. The dance wear was giving to us the same day but we were told we needed to wait until the first week of dance camp because she was expecting a shoe shipment that week. Later that week, I called inquiring about the shoes and was told that they still did not receive it. So I waited 2 more weeks and went to the facility to inquiry about her shoes, only to be told by the owner that her shoes came but were given away to another student that needed that shoe size. The owner had the audacity to look me in the eyes and say such a thing with no apology. I had to inquiry further with the owner about my daughters shoes once more before the owner explained that she was waiting for another shipment. So again my daughter had to wait for her shoes once more. It's sad that black business owners like Jaquetta lacks professionalism and good customer service traits. We will never support her business again. We are totally unhappy with her and how she runs her company. it's certainly a much better idea for parents to place their daughters in more well respected and credible dance schools. I would rather pay more money at the other dance schools than to deal with the owners nasty personality!

Not toddler friendly, at all! The customer service sucks. No one looks like they want to be there the students are rude I could only imagine the parents. They barely listen to the instructor. The waiting area becomes a over crowded bedroom for the students. Very low budget place. The owner was friendly but she was the only one. The hip hop dance instructor needs new teaching methods for the younger kids. They are not welcoming to prospective students and that goes for everyone. The kids barely warmed up. After seeing this ghetto place I am definitely questioning other dance schools in the area.

This place is not for toddlers or little ones , they don't even give your child a chance to warm up to the dancing class, they have no patience with children.
