I think I would be able to build a pool in the time that I’ve been waiting for a call or email back from the aquatics department regarding swim lessons.

I joined this gym for the pools, stayed for the cool classes, sauna, non-judgmental vibe, no videoing anywhere policy, very kind staff, and the best trainer ever (Emilianne P.)

Look, I’m an old lady. I go to the gym to do old lady stuff, not listen to 100 blaring tvs, loud EDM, or be made fun of by college girls, which happened at another gym repeatedly in this area. MLHFC is old people and family friendly. Yes, the weight area on the first floor is a bit small but it has almost everything and is only crowded at the usual expected times. The variety of classes offered is great - I got to do all kinds of things I never did before - the ballet and pilates-inspired classes are especially amazing, I enjoyed the bike classes, the weight and dance-inspired ones too, and the instructors have all been phenomenal. Plenty of treadmills, tons of machines, lots of accessories like balls bars and bands, they have a Jacob’s Ladder, and the stretching area is really useful for me.

But for me, it’s the vibe of the place that led me to rejoin post-chemo. Gyms can be intimidating and that’s why I didn’t set foot in one for years after those nasty girls pointed and laughed at my fat a** trying to get in shape. MLHFC is filled with ages and bodies of all kind, including older people who may be in physical rehab. There’s no peacocking, no rude people flinging weights for views, everyone wears normal gym clothes, and it’s mostly just a bunch of normal suburban people of all ages and walks of life trying to feel healthy. Patrons are friendly and helpful but you can also just zone out with headphones alone and nobody bothers you. I am bald and kind of unpleasant looking right now and I don’t get a second glance there as compared to being out in public in other places.

For me one of the best things about it is there’s an Urgent Care on the same floor!! I threw out my back in a class once and the staff helped me right down to UC.

From reading other reviews, I know experiences differ but mine has been positive. I ended my membership when I was too sick to continue going, and it was super quick and easy. I do hear the issue with the personal training/unable to refund if you leave the gym. This happened to me too, was a big bummer and a financial OUCH for me at the time, but I gifted my remaining sessions to someone else through my trainer and I hope they got some joy and health from them.

So if you are looking for a chill gym with a lot of amenities for the price (the two warmed pools, lap pool and sauna are worth the money alone for me), try it out!

Over all this gym has been a great experience. The customer service has improved and it's never to busy. Most of the time the equipment is available. Love the steam room. It also has hot tub and sauna. Two large pools also. Side note.
I have noticed members have been leaving towls and discarded items in the locker room more. The staff need to check this more regularly. Or members that read this. Close your locker and clean up after yourself. Who raised you?
Update. The past couple months I have noticed the management walking around and checking on locker rooms and more. So thank you !! Ps im posting signs on sauna door no cell phone.

My trainer Joe Uphoff has been a big part of my journey to better fitness. Since 2021 I have gained core health and experienced a weight loss of 80 pounds. My energy level is way up. Thanks Joe!

Music playing has swearing and other lyrics. I've asked the management several times to change music which they do.But, the problem recurs frequently . staff is not supervised and/or instructed to avoid music channels with curse words. Otherwise, this is a great facility. Signage should be posted where staff selects music channels to avoid explicit language and curse words.

I really love it here! The facilities are super nice, the classes are fun and well-run, and the trainers are fantastic. I especially enjoy the yoga classes with Noah and Anne Marie—they’re amazing. I’ve also been taking advantage of the free personal training sessions that come with the membership, and Siena has been incredible. She’s so good at making me feel comfortable and personalizing everything to fit me. I couldn’t recommend this place more!

The saltwater pool was great and I had started working with a fabulous trainer. I worked with her for many year despite the training fees going up as well as the membership fees. She helped manage my pain levels. Management suddenly fired her with no notice to her clients. She was going to work there part time and elsewhere part time. I was going to stay with her at the gym. Most of us only stayed at the gym because she was there. They claimed she was pilfering clients which was not true. There was no other trainer there that I felt safe with because of my multiple physical issues and yet when I told Shelly about this they still charged me an extra month fee. I had not used the facility since they fired my trainer in August and yet they charged me for September too. Beware if you join that they will nickel and dime you to death. I feel this is an unethical practice.

I signed up for a gym membership with the understanding that Sundays from 2-4 PM were designated as family swim time. However, when I brought my wife and two kids to enjoy the pool, I was surprised to be charged an additional $15 for my wife because she wasn't considered part of the 'family' for this offer. This was not communicated upfront and left us feeling disappointed and misled.

Just moved to the area for graduate school and am so far impressed with this facility! Love that they have salt water pools and a vast amount of gym equipment to use. Shelly, the GM, is very kind and goes the extra mile for her members. She wants to ensure you have what you need here. My only minor issue is that the front desk personnel isn't as warm and welcoming. They could be nicer than they appear.

My father went here to visit with Dr. Kim, whom he loved previously, he treated him wonderfully. My dad is 88, and he mad some wrong decisions with his health. The Dr
was rude and demoralizing to my father. My father was so upset and felt horribly, mostly because of the way the doctor talked with him. And ultimately the Dr. said he would decide whether he will see him again since my dad chose another doctor. Which he was told be the company that installed his pain relief called Medtronic. My dad his desperate for relief, and turned to the doctor he lived. He made a mistake. Again at 88, you would think the Dr. Would be more reasonable and compassionate.

I can’t speak on the gym itself because after my encounter with the person outside of their greeting, I will never join. I came to the building to meet with a physician to discuss PTSD after childbirth. When I walked in I was asked if I was there to work, which I was not. I just went to leave after my appointment and again I was asked if I was ready to workout. When I replied no, his response was he thought the chicken tenders would have fueled me. Get better staff because the last thing someone trying to go to their appointment needs is an idiot making unnecessary comments.

Edit: Gonna have to knock it down because they close too early on the weekends now.

Awesome locker rooms. Clean showers. You always see janitors and the cleaning staff working hard to keep the place neat, which is wonderful. No broken machine bs, all the equipment is new, modern and very easy to use. Personal trainers and workers are friendly. I will say it is a bit pricey, but if you are committed to working out, then I would say it's worth it.

Worst gym in the entire area. Sell you on private lessons and ten won’t refund your money if you decide to leave the gym. Majority of trainers are rude and very emblematic of the disrespect our nations is facing right now. All starts at the top. The general manager, Shelly, takes no responsibility for anything. I mentioned I’d called 4 or 5 times to cancel and never got an answer. Her response” well what time are you calling?” I’m an educated adult, I’m calling during business hours. She inferred and assumed that I was calling after business hours. I am no longer doing business where those in charge treat customers with a rude attitude. HAC is a much better fit and much better facilities.

Wonderful everything! We have been so impressed with everything at Main Line Health! We switched from the ACAC to Main Line and couldn't be happier. Started with a wonderful orientation from Shelly, who goes above and beyond for all members and remembers each member by their first name. She is wonderful! We have been using the childcare here and Olivia is the best! I never felt comforatble with the childcare at ACAC but have been impressed with the accomodations and friendly staff at Main Line and our children love "going to the gym" now. The gym has all the equipment I could ever want, including many machines that are great for those of us with joint/muscle issues, which I appreciate. I've gone to a handful of group exercises classes and have felt a great welcoming experience in each and every one.
Finally, our daughter has been excelling with the wonderful swim lesson coach, Kayla, and we are so happy with her progress here.
Overall, this is a wonderful gym and we could not be happier with our decision to join!

Love the pools, the towels being available for member use and all of the different classes and work out machinery that is offered. Glad i made the decision to join.

RIP OFF !! Trainers are sales folks who would push you to buy personal sessions. Managers like to play the big Boss and wouldn’t care less if you lost your hard earned money. As per the policy we can’t do so and so but we won’t tell you about it when you purchase the sessions is the overall mantra. DO NOT buy personal sessions, stick to YouTube.

Not to mention the frequent increase in gym membership fees to keep milking money from your pocket.

Bonus : If you look at the above reviews management only thanks good feedbacks (probably made by themselves lol) and are blind towards feedback to improve.

I hope people don’t get tricked like me.
Wouldn’t recommend this place to my friends.

Swimming pool, Sauna and Jacuzzi are clean and good. Lot of friendly people in the swim area. If you are only into that and don’t mind spending exorbitant amounts for it. You would like it .

On 6/1 at 1pm, while I was exiting my vehicle, my car was struck by another vehicle's door in the parking lot. The force was abrupt enough to shake the entire car. I got out and asked the person that hit me to stop and discuss. She acknowledged me, but drove away regardless. I took a picture of the vehicle's license plate for evidence. I notified the gym manager and called the police. In the grand scheme I didn't think it warranted a police report over a scratch to my car door. I never thought I would see this car again, but 2 weeks later I see it in the parking lot. I found the owner of the car and it turns out she works at Main Line Health (leaving names out intentionally), and asked her in the facility if she recalled the incident. She did remember, but claims she assessed the damage herself and deemed it insignificant. She added that she sped away because she felt uncomfortable when I took my phone out to take the picture. (When you're in a hit and run, the immediate instinct is to capture a photo of the license plate.) During our conversation, she walked away again (no surprise) and into another office. At this point I'm completely over the incident and have moved on with life. Of course two days later on a Friday evening as I'm relaxing at home with my family after a long work week, I receive a call from Main Line Health. It's the manager now, and she asked me to not threaten their employees on business premises (before even asking for my version of the events). I honestly that I was receiving a call to apologize for the actions of this employee.

This person clearly went around and told any staff member that would listen that I'm a menace that lurks in the parking waiting for someone to hit my car so I can confront them. I had to terminate my membership , since this person will be traumatized with the mere sight of me. All I was seeking was accountability. If you're reading this, check the security tapes if they exist (6/1 @ 1:00pm, grey Jeep Grand Cherokee directly in front of the rear entrance). I have nothing to hide. A stranger hits my car, I find out who it is and ask them why they didn't stop. Yet I received a call asking me to apologize. I hate to pull the "Karen" card, but our profiles match the same depressing news you see everyday. I'm curious if -or- what the response will be to this post from the "owner".

Main weightlifting area on the first floor is tiny in comparison to the rest of the gym and only has a handful of bench sets and barbell racks.
The weightlifting area is often overrun by big groups of high schoolers that all come at the same time, making it impossible to social distance. Most of them wear their masks under their noses, yet the staff never seems to care.

I see that the owner does respond to reviews, which gives me hope that this might be resolved. However, I feel it’s necessary to warn others that the termination process is extremely difficult. I signed my daughter up for a membership while she was in high school and the facility is located within 10 minutes from our house. It was safe and clean and her friends were also going there. I did have concerns about canceling the membership knowing that she would be going away to college soon. The friendly sales associate explained that it was easy to cancel, “just come in in-person and we’ll take care if it.” My daughter ended up going away for school and I tried to terminate the account on her behalf, however during this time she had turned 18 and I was told she had to come in in-person to do so. In the meantime, her account continues to be charged. When I asked to escalate to a manager who could help and explained my situation, I was told I needed to speak with someone who had the authority to look into the account charges and they were only available 9-5, Monday-Friday. As a working mom, I usually get home well after 5. It’s difficult to make those hours, but a manager called me the following day and said she would cancel the account and no further charges would post after June. In addition, my daughter would have a credit for July and August (before she’s back at school) to use the facility, if she chooses. I asked for confirmation by email. When I received the email, there was a condition added: that I needed to send in a certified mail or have my daughter come in in-person to sign the cancellation by July 20th. Please note that she did not discussed this condition with me over the phone despite the emailing stating that she did. Since this was added after originally confirming the cancellation, I took it to mean there’s “one loose end“ (getting her signature for the cancelation on file) that we still needed to take care of. There’s nothing in her email stating that I would continue to be charged month over month, if I didn’t comply by July 20th. It’s difficult for me to get home in time to get a certified mail to the post office. It’s also challenging to get my daughter to come in in-person as she hasn’t been home from school until this past weekend. As soon as she arrived home on Saturday, we drove over to have her sign the cancellation believing that we took care of that “one loose end”. Today, I received an email from another manager telling me that not only will I be charged for July and August, but also for September and October, as well for a “final billing month”. In addition and unbeknownst to me, I am being charged late fees on top of those additional four months. Moreover, this email added a new condition that was never there before: I now have to prove that my daughter lives more than 25 miles away to avoid further billing! I am really hoping this can be resolved once and for all. The original confirmation should be honored, not the ones where erroneous conditions were added after the fact. Please help me clear up this account so that we can maintain a positive experience in working with your team.

I initially called and spoke to a really nice sales rep and she asked me when I'd come in to check out the facility. I told her Tuesday but actually went on Wednesday. I toured the gym. It was nice and the equipment was new. I thought I might give this place a try since my present gyms equipment is a bit dated and I'm thinking of switching gyms. I called back two weeks later and I asked if I could come in at the time I would normally come so I could see if the gym is congested and if I would have to wait for equipment on a daily. I spoke to a guy this time and he told me that was not possible. If I wanted to see the gym, I would have to join and sign the contract. I could not get a guest pass and joining was my only option. He tried assuring me that they have a membership cap so it wouldn't be crowded. The whole thing sounded very unprofessional to me and is this an example of the kind of customer service they would give me if I became a member? There's no reason I shouldn't be able to check the facility out one more time.....twice before I sign up is not to much to ask for. Needless to say, I didn't join. Springfield Healthplex will keep me as a member for now.
