TL;DR poor gym quality and terrible/shady management.

The gym itself is already in poor condition. Equipment is subpar (if even functional at the moment) and very ran down. Add on the fact that the gym is relatively tiny, it’s impossible to have a good workout during its busy hours.

That aside, there’s a far worse issue with this gym. That being the way it’s managed. I stopped going here in November. I properly went through their cancellation process and started attending a new gym. However, I later discovered that POST cancellation I was being charged the membership fee. I called initially telling the OWNER about the issue, 2 months had passed without fix in which I had to call again and visit in person. In which is when they finally fixed it. The total amount overcharged was $110.83. When asked for a refund, the lady at the front desk at the time literally laughed, said we won’t do refunds and then when pressed for specifics claimed “all gyms do this”

This gym is extremely outdated and in poor condition. The equipment is old and often broken. To make matters worse, the owner was dishonest and manipulative regarding my cancellation. Despite informing him of my intent to cancel, he claimed the 30-day cancellation period began when he decided he received my notice, leading to an extra, unwarranted charge. He then tried to shift the blame onto me via text, questioning when I had informed him of my cancellation, even though he had previously called me trying to convince me to stay. This kind of deceptive business practice is unacceptable.

Mayfair Fitness has been my gym since 2016, and it meets my expectations. Despite its size, it offers a comprehensive workout experience and boasts a fantastic, dedicated community. I just started here. It's not bad so far. It's a gym that has what you need to work out. I was just looking for something with the necessities. Only down side is some of the equipment need maintenance or replacing. Especially the treadmills. That's the only thing stopping me from giving a 5. (So far)

I have gone to this gym for about three years now. It is an excellent place with good prices and equipment. I would have recommend them to anyone looking for a gym in the area. However, as someone else mentioned, since COVID-19, gyms have been closed. Nevertheless, when trying to contact the gym about membership dues and pausing membership, there has been a startling lack of communication. I have emailed the gym as well as called them, but there has been no answer. However, the collection company they use are able to contact me about the "debt" that is owed. Indeed things are difficult because of the virus, but communication is still key.

Can’t go to the gym because of covid 19 and that’s fine but they keep taking money out even though we can’t even go there. They even took $39 something out the third month of not being there. They just keep taking money out and can’t cancel because nobody answers the phone.

To start off if you only plan of using the gym temporarily to get in shape for sports or to impress the wife or weight loss goals I suggest you go ahead to planet fitness because once you cancel there you don’t have to worry about them still taking money from your account I’ve recently been charged 78$ and I cancelled my membership and haven’t went to the gym in 3months I’m thinking I’ve cancelled and I’m safe little did I know, I’ve called the owner and he tells me that that’s how most gyms make their money and he could only give me 19$ back, and I’m not sure about how you’ve felt but I genuinely liked this gym and it started to feel like a second home I’m in the United States Army Guard and I have to deploy soon and I of course ran a red light and gotten a ticket so I was lucky enough to have an extra 100$ to pay it and be done with it so when I ship out I don’t have nothing to worry about and here comes this random payment taken from my account regret coming here!! BEWARE YOU WORK HARD FOR YOUR MONEY KEEP IT JUST GO SOMEWHERE MORE LEGIT AND WELL KNOWN I figured seeing all the good reviews on this gem I thought it was a good idea to join until you’re one of those guys and this happens to you all I’m saying is just be aware and be cautious

I have been going to this gym for several years now, and I appreciate it more than any other gym I have ever been a member of. it's local, cost efficient, and generally clean. Just sometimes have to deal with the ones who tend not to put things back where they belong and make a mess of things, but everyone there for the most part is respectful. Great neighborhood gym.

I been looking for a gym that is affordable and has free weights and Mayfair fitness is just the perfect place! The staff is very kind and if you have any questions about working out they will show you. I usually workout at night and it is pretty quiet. Definitely recommend coming here.
