I wrote an earlier review shortly after I joined MFK a little over a year ago, but I felt compelled to write a new review now that I have been a member for more than a year.
MFK is so much more than a typical gym or fitness center; it’s a sanctuary where I’ve found physical strength, mental clarity, and a sense of belonging.
It’s not just the equipment, personalized workouts, or nutrition and (gentle) accountability sessions that make MFK special. It’s Mark and his amazing staff - Julia, Chris, Lisa & Danielle — the heart and soul behind it all!
Their passion, expert knowledge of fitness and nutrition, encouragement and genuine care for each member's well-being and progress have made such a positive impact on me and the personal fitness journeys of each MFK member that extends far beyond physical health to remind us that we're capable of achieving anything!

I've achieved much of my fitness goals, because of Julia, Chris, & Mark. My favorite sport "Running" has been more of a challenge as I age. I love MyFitness Kitchen!
The coaches are awesome, the snooty energy is non-existent and the people who go there are awesome too!
It’s a little pricey for me, but they’re doing everything they can to accommodate me and I truly do appreciate that!
They also offer a nutritionist, who is one of their other coaches. She is VERY knowledgeable about the subject and she has helped me figure out what I’m looking at with my new lifestyle and where everything is going!
I love all of them there! They truly are “close family” to me and I wouldn’t want to lose them or their insight!
Please consider this gym as one that you can be comfortable in and, one where you can be assured that whatever level you’re at, one of the many coaches there can work with you at that level, and they might even be able to help you improve if you haven’t been hit the gym in a while! All in all, I’d say it’s pretty much the whole package!
I understand if the price scares you off, but they’ve been very accommodating for me and I’m sure they’ll help you as well!

From my personal experience, I found that My Fitness Kitchen exceeds my expectations in many ways. Firstly, the communication with Mark is outstanding and is always available to answer any questions and he is very responsive to my concerns.
My Fitness Kitchen also created a nutritional personalized program that was achievable. I have seen significant improvements in diet and my overall fitness and strength since starting.
I also appreciate the level of care that Mark and his Personal Trainers Julia and Chris shows. It is clear that they genuinely care about my progress and are committed to helping me achieve my fitness goals.

Great place, do your own thing or join one of their classes. Staff is always friendly and helpful. Mark has a very broad range of machines and ancillary equipment to exercise and train with. You will always get a "good morning" greeting or "have a great day". You will get as much out of your session as you put in.

I have been a member at MFK for 1 1/2 years and can say that I whole-heartedly enjoy my membership more than any other gym I've gone to. One of the things that sets it apart from other gyms is the fact I've learned so much about how exercise and nutrition are equally important to your overall fitness. I have been a member for almost 6 years. MFK has been superb throughout all of my time, offering help with training, diet, and lots of support. It is a place where everyone can be comfortable working out and it seems like every member wants you to succeed in your goals. I recently moved to Ligonier from Miami and was searching for a gym when I found MFC. Initially I was not thrilled that I had to have a consultation (I’ve been working out for many years), but I am so glad I did!! When I met with Mark he was extremely knowledgeable and helped me to understand what my goals were (stress reduction, healthier weight, etc.) and explained how to alter my lifestyle to make changes and MAINTAIN them. This is an exceptional training facility for all ages and exercise/nutrition goals. As an intern, I learned how to take the knowledge from my undergrad program and apply it to provide effective training for the clients I was working with. All I can say is...Wow! I visited in hopes of losing some weight, and came away from my first FREE consultation with So Much More! This is NOT your average cookie cutter gym!!! Together, we are creating a strategy that works with my world and will help me incorporate my new healthy lifestyle with my particular circumstances. I am older, and I have senior family members to care for, plus other challenges. Not to mention my personal health issues, and blah, blah, blah!
All of these were a breeze for Mark to show
me ways to overcome them and actually use them as tools on my path! I wish I would have come armed with a notebook, there is SO MUCH to Learn!!! There is definitely more than one piece to the weightloss journey that gives it the ability to actually become a lifestyle change in a gentle sort of way. I had been going to Planet Fitness for quite a while off and on but not seeing any results. I stopped by My Fitness Kitchen and talked with Mark who listened to what I was saying and suggested that what was missing was accountability and training on using the machines. He put together a program where I would work with Kevin at My Fitness Kitchen once a week and then go to Planet Fitness at least one other time each week. With Kevin's motivation and guidance I began to get much more out of my PF workouts. I felt more comfortable with the various machines at PF and even with venturing to new ones. I also had a plan I could take with me there each week for variety. Checking in once a week with Kevin kept me accountable and gave me the tools I needed. I''m three months in and without feeling deprived or needing to be at a fitness center more than twice a week, I have a program that has led me to loose over 20 pounds. I am now going to try to see how it goes just going to PF for awhile but if I find that without the accountability that Fitness Kitchen added for me I start to slip - I will be back. They are friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. I liked how they listened to understand my needs and didn't just give me a prepackaged program. I'm hoping in the future to see if there might be a plan where I can work out twice a week at PF and do a once a month check-in at the Kitchen for accountability. No matter what - a send a BIG thank you out to Mark and to Kevin for a life changing 3 months!

I have been to many gyms but this one is unique and the best in my opinion. The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. Gyms are a scary place. Like, real scary. I always think I'm being judged or that I don't fit in. And when you're wanting to lose weight, you're already more self-aware than you normally are, if you feel uncomfortable or unsupported when you're already feeling bad about yourself, there's no way you're going to return to the gym.
I've quit a lot of gyms for this very reason.
My Fitness Kitchen is different. Their approach is different...the work you have to put in to lose weight is not different - there isn't a magic pill or a secret drink you can drink to lose weight - BUT! It is much more doable, the mountain isn't as big, the task isn't so daunting when you have a team that supports your goal. A team that doesn't shame you if you have a bad day or a bad week, a team that understands that you need to live life outside the gym and encourages you to do so. The difference is - you have the support and coaching to help give you the confidence that you can accomplish whatever your goals are.
Things that impressed me:
- The no-commitment consultation with Mark. Lots of information presented in a way that was interesting and understandable. Leave your wallet in the car, you don't need it. Just come in and chat with him...that's it. Then you'll be in a position to make an informed decision if this is a place where you want to spend your money.
- The first time I visited MFK, Mark immediately introduced himself to me and recognized I was new. This told me that if he knew that I was new, that means he knows who attends there, which means he knows his clientele. And since I've been attending, this is absolutely the case. Mark and his team make an effort to know everyone by first name and when that is the atmosphere that is set by the owner / employees, the people who attend there offer the same kindness to new people to join the gym. It trickles down from the top.
- It doesn't matter who you are or how diligent / dedicated you are, you're going to have an off day or an off week. You're human. At MFK this is understood and you're offered encouragement and coaching to help get focused again.
- The mathematics that go into my weekly Accountability Check Up always fascinates me. Weightloss is a not a one size fits all situation, which was news to me. I always thought if I weighed less it's because I lost fat and I'm on the right track...turns out, there's a lot of math that goes into calculating your weight loss. Which makes sense...every body is different, so why would weight loss be a one size fits all? Think about it.
If you're serious about working on your overall health and you want a team behind you who cares about your success (however you define success), it would be worth your time to check out MFK. And when I say "worth it," remember, it's completely free to come in and chat with Mark. No obligation. And no, none, zero pressure to do anything past that first appointment.
When you're ready to make a change, Mark and his team will be there for you to help coach you and help teach you how to live your best life...because you deserve that, right? Right.

If you are looking for an exercise facility that will combine focused & programmed exercise with nutritional support so that you can achieve your personal health goals, then My Fitness Kitchen is the place for you. If you need advice about which if any supplements you should take to support good health, then Mark Rullo, owner and fitness-nutrition advisor, will be able to suggest the appropriate supplements for you. Mark suggested that I try a joint supplement after I mentioned to him that both of my hips were painful, so painful that I could not stand for more than 15 minutes at a time. An X-ray revealed that I had arthritis in each hip and that I would eventually have to have both hips replaced. Since taking Joint Flex Plus by dotFit, my hips have miraculously felt much better. His supplement recommendation supported my better health and it prevented two hip replacements. I buy my supplements through My Fitness Kitchen on site or through the My Fitness Kitchen website, because it is easy and it supports a small business. . I prefer working out at a smaller gym such as My Fitness Kitchen as compared to a warehouse gym facility, because of the personal attention that I receive. Thank you, My Fitness Kitchen! You changed my life in a very positive way.
