Why would we drive a half hour away to a gym? Because it's a cut above anywhere else we have seen. I joined my family of 3 about a month ago. My experience has been extremely good, and I have only missed 2 days of stopping in! While the rates are higher than most gyms, another review that notes "its more like a country club without golf than just a gym".

A few notes:
- Salesperson Ruthie was amazing, and really answered a lot of questions to help me decide to join given the distance
- there's an incredible amount of equipment located in several separate sections. I basically never have to wait, making my workouts efficient
- Childcare is amazing. there are so many classes for kids, and my daughter loves it. The staff are also really nice and good to my daughter. the Cafe also has plenty of kid snacks
- Facilities are nice and feature rich, updated and beautiful. they are currently doing a huge renovation to add even more. I feel like the owner says "how do I make a really cool place I'd want to be" instead of running the place like a typical corporate accountant type.
- I like that the clientele are a bit higher end. my previous gym (while not cheap) had quite a few more people being gross in the gym and locker room. the members are pretty civil here.
- the NAC is also really impressive with having events and things to do outside of just working out. the farm, a thanksgiving workout, you can expect that there's always something going on here!

I signed up in May and added my daughter in June. Unfortunately when I added my daughter to my membership, the revised details regarding the unfortunate scenario of having to pause the membership for an injury were not conveyed. The details were clearly explained when “I”signed up. I was enjoying the facilities and classes as was my daughter. Now I am being charged more to pause it than I anticipated and my daughter cannot use the facilities without me being active, all news to me. Very disappointed by this situation, the limited options/inflexibility, and staff was less than professional as I clearly heard cursing before the phone disconnected. No idea if towards me or something else but still not ok.

This place is way over priced, relatively basic Barbie, and not for serious fitness addicts. It has a weird lonely housewife / late middle age depression about it. Lots of standing around.

It was absolute garbage. I celebrated
my daughters’ birthdays there and the service and organization was absolutely terrible. We weren’t allowed into the pool until everyone arrived, a ridiculous rule they stuck to. People were late and there were possibilities that someone could come even later. That lost us a good 20-25 minutes of hour time in the pool. Calling the swimming pool a “pool” is a stretch because there is barely any space to swim. The inflatable water slides we rented from them looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in years. The people we had as our hosts treated us like they were forced to be there, as if we were some nuisance. These were the same guys who wasted 20 minutes of our pool time. They had zero sense of urgency and provided not even the bare minimum. Do not go there, it’s plain garbage. I did pay almost $1000 to experience this pathetic display.

I am very happy with my decision to join the NAC. I have been a member for roughly 2 months now and have noticed such a positive change/difference in myself. Every time I check in I am greeted with a smile. All of the classes I have done, I leave smiling and glowing for days afterwards. The instructors are amazing and so positive. Just joined recently; can’t speak highly enough of the onboarding staff and the facilities themselves. Great atmosphere, nothing but supportive and friendly staff, trainers, instructors, and fellow members! So excited to continue to use so many different facets of the club…its a total fitness playground. So many options that I haven’t been able to get to all the things I want to do yet, and there from what I can tell and understand, there will be even more available come warmer weather. Seems also like a terrific place for families and kids; I’m amazed by the options and programs for them.

Want to share my personal experience of re-joining NAC after a long COVID-related break. I felt again coming into a welcoming family with everyone eager to help and guide you. Starting from the club entrance where you check in, through the whole facility you can feel the warmth and undivided attention of the club personnel. There you will find a lot of things to do and help you get in shape and stay fit no matter the age or physical condition.
In my journey that just started, I have been helped by many NAC associates: membership advisor Ruthie Kuznetsov, personal trainer Dean Bond, stretch practitioner Erin Lee, onboarding advisor Joe Bender, nutrition specialist Marcie Amerstein and many others.

Overall, I find NAC to be a great place and would recommend it to anyone who wants to be as physically fit as you want to be with the help and guidance of NAC associates.

I've been a member at Newtown Athletic Club for three weeks now, and I absolutely love it! The facility is spacious, immaculate, and equipped with top-notch machines. The staff is incredibly friendly, and I have to give a special shoutout to Carol, my admission specialist—she has been spectacular! Carol is patient, knowledgeable, accommodating, and always welcoming, making the onboarding process seamless.

One of my favorite parts of the club is the lap pool and jacuzzi, which I make sure to enjoy every time I visit. The women’s locker room is spa-like, stocked with all the necessities, and the steam room and sauna are fantastic for relaxation. While I haven’t braved the outdoor heated pool yet due to the chilly weather, I’m looking forward to making full use of the outdoor pools this summer!

The variety of classes offered is impressive, catering to all levels and available throughout the day. Everyone I’ve encountered has been warm and welcoming, which makes coming here even more enjoyable. Plus, the club’s hours are great, making it easy to fit workouts into my schedule.

Overall, I’m beyond happy with my experience at Newtown Athletic Club and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a high-quality fitness and wellness facility!

Just joined the Newtown Athletic Club. So many great reasons to join. I recently got transferred to Newtown for work at St. Mary Medical Center (anesthesiologist) and driving to work I passed the NAC. I figured I would check it out as I am new to the area and haven’t found a health club yet. I walk into the building and ask if they have a walkthrough tour that I could take before making a decision and they did not seem to want to deal with me. I asked if I could schedule an appointment and the woman at the desk told me they are not accepting new members and dismissed me. It was a strange experience. Never thought it was an exclusive club. Anyway I ended up joining LA Fitness and their staff is so friendly and attentive and they have pretty much the same amenities. And a lot cheaper prices! In a way I’m glad NAC was so rude because I have met a lot of amazing people at LA Fitness.

I recently had my son’s 9th birthday party at NAC and I couldn’t be more impressed. The girls who worked the party (of course I forgot their names) were fantastic. They ran the party so smoothly and directed the kids without hesitation. They were also great with organizing pictures of the kids at their events, which was so helpful for me as a mom trying to talk to parents. The food was really good too, all of it was made there which is impressive. The pool was the big hit with the kids. They had such a great time, I would absolutely recommend NAC for birthday parties!

When you go there for therapy for their pool the one that is warm it is packed with kids and lessons I think they should have certain time just for physical therapy and then the other part open to the public however they want to do it cuz it's very hard to do your therapy in there when you have kids swimming in and out trying to focus on what you're trying to do to take care of yourself and then there's kids all around nothing against kids but they should limit the time to therapy and then the other times to open

We were considering a couples membership here, so we went on a tour. While the place was overall clean and the lady who showed us around was nice, the indoor pool was so tiny and it looked dirty. It was a huge minus for me. Personally, I couldn't justify their extremely high prices and a YEAR long commitment, so we got a membership at Lifetime instead. Looking at the reviews online, it seems like they continued with price increases in 2024... frankly, it is just not worth it.

Signing up NAC was the best thing we’ve done since we moved to bucks county this year. The gym is the best I’ve ever been ( I’ve been to A LOT). It has everything and the facilities and equipment are all new and in great condition. Plus the childcare program and kids program are such a great deal. I love love love it. I haven’t been able to workout as I used to after having baby. Now I’ve been hitting the gym 5-6 days per week since we signed up NAC. It’s a mental and time relief that the baby is being taken care of, and it’s also very motivate to go to NAC since there are A LOT of things to do. Easily kill a full day at NAC if I don’t have to work.

I have been a member at NAC for around a year, cancelled my membership last year due to shift in work schedule and not using it enough.
I now have a store in Newtown area, very familiar with everyone in town, and am pretty easy to get along with..
Anyway.. decided to come to NAC today, test the waters and see if I wanted to renew my membership. I could not get a day pass unless someone was physically present and could vouch for me. Since Ive been a member before, I knew quite a bit of people and called around to see if someone was available to vouch for me. Guys… its me myself and I… Im not a rowdy person, wont be taking up much room.. really not an “issue client”..
As I’m calling, I came in contact with my cousin who connected and said yes she can totally vouch for me and can drive over to physically be there if needed- as she is saying this the front desk people got the memo and nodded their head, said that its fine, they know her and im good to pay for the day pass.
I pay for the day pass.
(which the whole vouching thing alone is a pain.. but whatever)
Here’s the worst part:
As I walk in.. A random coworker.. who had nothing to do with my transaction… who was inside the building, I didn’t see her, she was no where near contact of me… Chelsea to be exact.. PICKS ME OUT, comes up to me, and very aggressively kicks me out.
No hi, no hello,.. she says “Ruthie said she didn’t vouch for you. You need to leave”
As much as that didn’t make sense to you, it doesn’t make sense to me..
I never used Ruthie’s (who is a worker there) name to vouch for me.
I never spoke to her and not sure why I am being approached or picked on.
I feel like I was thrown into a 7th grade bully fest.. with 2 strangers I don’t even know… and I am a paying customer….
The entire situation was so bizarre.
I asked to speak to her manager- knowing there’s no way she was a high up.
TiGi came out. TiGi was so helpful, so kind, very reasonable and respectful. I told him the whole situation.. he was very kind about it.. bought me the first round of drinks and made sure I was taken care of.
The behavior of Ruthie and Chelsea was completely unprofessional, and simply inappropriate. Incredibly rude.
Only reason why I would give NAC any future chance is for TiGi.

Always have loved the NAC, but am considering cancelling. I feel they may be getting greedy with their prices (specifically for children whose parents are members). Children under 2 years old were always permitted to visit the pool over the summer with their parent who is a member for free. However now, all children ages 2 and up must have an active membership to even enter the pool area with a parent.
An active membership for a child 2+ years old to access the pool is minimum $125 per month with a 6 month commitment. That membership ONLY includes access to the pool. The kids cannot attend the youth classes with the membership (which would probably justify the $125 monthly price for some parents). And, obviously there is no benefit for a toddler to have a gym membership otherwise (since they won’t be using the actual exercise equipment in the gym).
Just seems like a policy that is a money grab for parents especially of young children.
Maybe they are not familiar with toddlers, but $125 a month for a 2-5 year old child to swim (splash next to their parents) for an hour or so a couple days a week seems like an excessive price.
I hope they will consider reevaluating their prices next season. Possibly making the age of free pool access more reasonable like, 5 years old. Possibly making tiers to the child membership (ex: one visit to pool with parent per week, or X amount of visits per month). Or on the other hand, just making it a little cheaper than the standard $30 per guest to visit the pool. (Ex: $10 per guest under 5 years old) or something along those lines.
From what I hear at the gym, many moms and families are upset this season and it’s coming as a surprise to many. It is such a great place to bring young children and we love the daycare program, and I know it is a lifesaver for new parents. But to tack on another $125-$200 per month after the baby turns 2 will definitely be something that turns those same parents off.

This is a fantastic facility...I was told 250,000 square feet. Best gym I have ever been to...but it's so much more than a gym...it's a day resort. I also had a wonderful initial tour and sign up session with Ruthie, one of their many excellent staff. I was recommended by a friend to NewTown Athletic Club and seen a advertisement on instagram for 30$ day pass. I came into the establishment with the upmost respect and gave her my friends name who had a membership she repeated to say his membership was canceled when he was just there 3 days ago. We were members and on our last month my wife signed my daughter up for the Easter egg hunt . It didn’t cost extra the event was included in the monthly membership. We were charged a 15$ no show fee drafted from our bank account. She made multiple calls and they never got back to her at all!! I literally have a picture with the company logo, my daughter and the Easter bunny to confirm . I just emailed them with the picture now I’m waiting for a response as to why the money wasn’t refunded. The gym is nice but overpriced and everything with the membership department is a hassle. I recently joined the club (NAC) and am very impressed with the atmosphere, accommodations, and find the app useful (some moderate challenges with efficiency, but good).

My membership experience with Ann was amazing. She was engaging, professional, helpful, and most importantly personable. Although I stopped in without an appointment (to make sure I finally got it done), she welcomed me without hesitation and I had a wonderful introduction to the club with her.

If you are used to LifeTime Fitness, I would say this club offers competitive pricing and a comparable (if not more) experience. The childcare benefit is also extremely helpful.

My only feedback is related to a particular staff member. Within my first two visits, I experienced hearing a staff member refer to something broken as “ghetto”. This terminology can be considered offensive to people of color when being used in a way that describes something as less than, broken, or poor. As a professional in this field, I would highly recommend providing some sort of context to staff that although there may not be large levels of ethnic diversity at times, they should always consider that someone could experience unintentional harm from culturally insensitive/inappropriate comments.

The NAC has to be one of top athletic clubs in the US. Last night it invited its members to an amazing night at the Newtown Theater. The highlight was a concert by an incredible singer.

Was a very happy customer as the greeting and customer service employees on site was great! But unfortunately the department that deals with over the phone customer relations, I was met with very rude and unpleasant experience.

The call was to cancel the membership as I moved outside the radius their policy provided. Wasn't able to make the commute anymore so I made a cancellation request.

Couple days later I was met with a phone call by a customer service representative. She wanted me to explain what my reason of cancellation was and I promptly explain to her it was due to my ability to make the commute because now I live so far away. She then gave me a what seems to be attitude followed by giving me an email that I need to provide information to then a prompt hang up after a brief goodbye.

Though caught off by my experience with the customer service, I still provided the information to the email with no response or confirmation back about the information being received. My account was still charged the monthly fee. Now I am unhappy customer because of these issues that seem to be neglectic within the customer service over the phone and through the email.

Communication was a issue along with unpleasant over the phone response.

Made me feel as if they were being spiteful of me leaving and didn't feel the need to give me a friendly customer experience.

there's still no hot water in the facility. It's quite frustrating that you have to turn the knob all the way to hot just to get lukewarm water, and I completely agree with the previous reviewer's concern about soiled towels being put back into rotation. These issues really need to be addressed for the comfort and hygiene of guests especially the premium we all pay. The shower heads need to be replaced as well. Come on.

It's a shame how the club has been declining post-COVID. Bath towels are stain-ridden, and the housekeeping staff keeps recycling the same soiled towels. There are constant hot water problems, and the "new" matrix machines keep breaking down. After three years, I will be canceling my membership.

I took my grandson Harold to this place because he needs to work on his figure, he’s a husky boy. People kept a bothering me about wanting to swing with them. I’m an old lady, I haven’t been on a swing set in ages! And there ain’t no way I’m getting on one now. I got arthritis!! Sheesh!

I was a NAC member for 10 years, but I see that 10 years or 10 months makes no difference as long as there are only glowing attributes posted about this gym! whatever you do, never complain about any problems, like the fact the steam room and saunas for the men will not be completed for another year or more.

Many complaints on line from other members about this situation, and the fact that my husband agreed with them, apparently was a "NO NO"! My husband only related the fact that others in the gym were dissatisfied and talked about leaving......Complaints are allowed, but just do not make them on social media so only the NAC hears your frustrations!

For this reason my husband was TERMINATED for simply applying his First Amendment rights and repeated what he heard!

I was a member before 2015 with my kids and always loved NAC. At one time kids and I were in Taekwondo together and my daughter was invited to compete. Went in today, 2021-08-03 around 7pm to inquire about membership and to see if I can check out all the changes at the club. Gentleman at the reception was polite and pleasant and right away directed me to information. Lady at the information desk shouldn’t work there. She was absolutely rude and doesn’t belong in customer service role. She seemed very annoyed that I walked in without an appointment with sales office. To be honest, I walked into 4 other gyms around Newtown today and was welcomed and politely given information. So disappointing. Looks like they lost returning member. All she had to do was to give a small smile and explain that I needed an appointment. Wow.

My son's birthday was here this weekend. First off we had to set up 15 mins before the party started but didn't even get 15 mins because there was another party still going on in the room. So we literally decorated as our guests showed up. The employees are not professional. They didn't know how to talk to you. The superhero for the party (again one of their employees) was not energetic or enthusiastic. I would not recommend having a party here. Save your money.

They don't have enough classes. They don't follow their on rules, ie when you get on a wait iist 30 minutes to repiy, today I tried within 5 minutes after notified and my place was no longer available. You pay a lot of money and get bad service.

Extremely expensive for a membership here for working out or using the pool/gym. If they could offer different tiers of membership, i.e. $XX.XX for gym/workout but no classes option, then I would sign up. Not everyone wants to take a class or get expensive mediocre drinks at the bar.

The NAC is easily the best gym I have ever been to. It’s full of state of the art equipment but the fitness studios are where it’s at (for me at least, my husband can be found lifting heavy stuff on the weight floor). I lived in NYC before moving to the area and would have to jump around from one pilates studio to another via Classpass or settle for lackluster classes at Equinox, but at the NAC, all classes are included and they’re legit. Safe to say that I am now a reformer junkie which was nearly impossible when I lived in NYC ($$$). I’ve tried a bunch of classes from barre to spin in the new REV studio, which is pretty cool.

The picture says it all. I send my child here for summer camp. Im in trouble lol, he's requested to go every summer and he's only 5... Gotta get a camp fund!. Seriously though the camp is outstanding. I have zero complaints and strongly encourage looking into camp. Yes it's pricey however it ALL goes into the camp & experiences. If you want the summer of your dreams CampNac is where it's at! Thank you Bri for being amazing. The counselors are outstanding, friendships happen quickly, and my child has "The best day ever!" The facility is clean, well maintained and the greetings are abundant. It's a spectacular experience & so grateful for the endless fun. This was the best decision I've made. After a rough last year this was an amazing opportunity. Please consider CampNac, they have many varieties of camp (science, arts, sports ECT.) The water slides are better than Sesame Place. Super clean, friendly & welcoming. Above and beyond all expectations!!!

One too many trips to Escape Resort, Restaurant & Bar where I spend 15 mins looking for a parking spot only to find out that there are no seats around the pool. I much more prefer my public pools to have a diving board anyway. No need to have a membership here - just find one person, who can then apparently bring unlimited guests - even on weekends.

Nice club and pool. Pricey, year long commitment. Lots of structured activities for kids, not as many unstructured kids activities. Great pool, I would definately join if the prices, about 200 to 225 enrollment person and about 80 to 160 a month with a year long commitment was not an issue for the distance. They need more flexible memberships for abnormal family configurations like divorced families or one adult child etc.

The club is absolutely amazing. However, The bartenders on Fri the 17th were extremely rude and not attentive to me. The bar was not crowded at all...waited a half hour for a bottle of water. Service here needs to be superior! We pay way to much money here for weak service. Thank you!

We did a birthday party for our son and daughter at the NAC. We did 2 inflatables and 1 hour of gymnastics. The hosts handled everything amazingly. I was so impressed. From the moment we got there to the moment we finished. It was such a wonderful experience. The food was delicious and the service was great. Highly recommend. We will be doing this every year going forward.

The gym is great. You get what you pay for. Our membership includes gym, childcare, indoor pool, a swim club & dance and gymnastics classes for my daughter. People complain about the price but then pay $99 a month for unlimited yoga classes when all that stuff is also included in your membership! My 2yo loves the classes and wishes there was More and she loves Emma!

Adding that we looove the addition of parent child yoga!

Regarding my son's birthday party two weeks ago. We couldn't have been happier with the facility, the staff, and overall experience. Everyone was friendly, the staff were awesome and attentive. The best part is the staff didn't micromanage the crowd. After two years plus of weird regulations, it's nice to visit a normal place. We will definitely be back!
