Wow! What a difference a year or two makes. After a year into new owners, this course has really transformed from a "don't waste your money" course to a very well maintained and cared for course. To begin with, the golf carts are new, complete with windshields! Each cart also comes equipped with a GPS system to show you the way and keep score. No pesky groundskeepers mowing while playing. This course uses a "state of the art" group of Husqvarna golf course mowers. The greens are in exceptional condition. This course is again, fun to play. The bunkers are largely old sand traps that are grown over with grass but we were told that the bunkers are scheduled to be fixed for next year. The clubhouse is phenomenal. Complete with a nice bar, and a large comfortable dining area. The pro shop has also been upgraded with pretty reasonable prices. The best upgrade to the entire course has been the staff. They are very friendly and professional. This may be my favorite course in the area to play now. One thing to know, no golf carts in the parking lot so you may want to drop your clubs off just outside the pro shop before parking. Enjoy the course and the hospitality, we did.

Renovated club house and pro shop, absolutely gorgeous and fresh feeling. Carts are new w good tech, the geo fencing could be better as it beeps like crazy in the lot and cuts the gas near ob areas so you can’t drive out of where you’re not supposed to be lol.

Course was pretty decently maintained for a public course at this price point. Pretty wide open easy course with sandless bunkers. Greens were decent shape and boxes good too. The range has automated ball dispenser and grass or mats to hit from.

Dogs were the best I’ve had in a while w great toasty buns.

Overall this is an amazing course in the area.

Played courses around the area (Meadville Country Club, Venango Valley, Cumberland Trails, etc)…. This has to be my favourite by far.

It is well kept and fun course. While lakeside, the course unfortunately does not feature any views of the lake. But it has a good mix of distances and very challenging greens. Give it a try if you're traveling up 79 between Erie and Pittsburgh.

Some long holes for seniors but other than that, it was in good condition. Under new ownership this year. Clubhouse is closed for renovation. The clubhouse is open again as of 9-18-24. They are still working on the clubhouse which will be very nice when done.

New ownership. They are remodeling the clubhouse. putting in new restrooms. The restraunt is very good it is run by Silver Shores from Conneaut Lake, A very popular place for years. They need more help at the bar on Sunday. We got done around noon and the poor woman was overwelmed. The greens are very nice right now.

The course is under new ownership this year (2024). They are obviously investing in it, with new mowers and clubhouse renovations. They are also adding mounded targets at the driving range. The greens have a lot of slope -- mostly back to front -- and unfortunately they continue to have problems with setting fair hole locations on Nos. 5, 12, and 17. When you are putting straight up the hill from 15 feet away and leave it a foot short, it should not roll backwards to your feet. I have only seen that happen at pro tournaments a few times -- U.S. Open set--ups at Shinnecock Hills and Winged Foot come to mind -- and each time it was a scandal and club officials were highly apologetic about it. I'm a little tired of having good rounds ruined by clown's nose hole locations. There are several fair hole locations on all of those greens, so it's not impossible. Admittedly, though, there are only three good locations on 17 (back left, front left, and front right). The members are hoping that the new owners will resurrect the seven bunkers that were abandoned to nature in 2023. That would be a nice touch!

$25 each for 2 people to play 9 holes! And no junior discount for my 15yr old daughter?! And to be so rudely told that was the icing on the cake to NEVER come back for our family weekend golf outings.

if your run of the mill cheap golf course is a 1, and top of the line is a 5, than this is somewhere in the middle. by no means a PGA course, but still has nice greens and fairways. the rough is kept long and hard to dig out of.

Great course. Tee boxes, fairways, and greens were in great shape. Greens were smooth and fast. Course was very open. If you found trouble there was a shot to play. Service in the clubhouse was great. The bar had quick service, and the food was delicious. My only issue was the ball cleaners didn't have towels, and some holes didn't have the cleaners at all. I look forward to my next visit!

Hey it may not be pretty, it may look open, it may sound short, but this course will bring you to your knees if you don't have a complete game. The greens are as challenging as I have played anywhere. In fact I find I always play too much break in greens elsewhere because the greens at OBGC are filled with subtle breaks. Give it a try and see for yourself. Let me know how you score because you're going to be stunned it is so high on such an "easy" course!!!

I have always enjoyed the kind staff and well kept course! I have been going to Oakland Beach Golf Club since I was a little girl, and with each visit I find more to love about it. The grounds are always well kept with beautiful arrangements of flowers and gardens. Not to mention-the restaurant has great food! I make sure to always go with my family when we are in the area! Nothing but great experiences here.

It's a beautiful golf course that's very fun to play! The restaurant is great; the hotdogs are some of the best I've had and the Wednesday spaghetti night is a great deal. I've played golf at Oakland Beach every summer for the last six years and the course has always been in great shape. They continue to improve the course each year. I plan on continuing to golf at Oakland Beach because it's a wonderful course at a great value!

This is a course that is difficult because of the slope of the greens and pin placement. The pin placement on # 17 was ridiculous, on a hill about five feet from the edge. The fairways are open but lack the quality of bent grass found on better courses. Tee boxes were very scuffed with numerous divots. The greens were hard and would not hold pitched shots. Most greens had patches of sand to cover bare spots. The grass on the fairways at the first cut needed serious weed control, particularly for clover. Overall, not a bad course, just not a very good one worth more than a 30 minute drive.
