The free two months is a way of locking you into a $40 a month, 1 year contract. They don't even give you the full 2 months $10. They said some bullshit about billing cycles and so I only technically get a month and a week, which was not explained to me when I signed up. The entire building smells like chlorine and the mens locker room like kitty litter. Also the hours are just not that good, if your paying $40 a month and work long hours to where by the time you get out it’s closed half the time your better just going to a 24 hour (I should have I didn’t expect to get fully locked into a contract)

It's one of my favorite places. Happiness does come in a gym. Mini in-house Triathlon with my coworker who inspires everyone to greatness. Anyone can do it. Indoor track makes it even easier. Love Dave's classes...hard core. Brian's are hard core in a different way. Zumba is a lot of fun if that's your thing, and their enthusiasm has helped me obtain some healing. The pool is very nice. There is lots of space, and there are many equipment areas, massage chairs, saunas, steam rooms etc. It's just a wonderful place... because of the people too.

Today I was able to join Odyssey gym again, due to feet surgery I had to stop. I attended 4 years ago, i do have health insurance that pays for the YMCA, Planet Fitness and other gyms but Odyssey is the place to be. I'm disabled but when I go to Odyssey gym, I get my life back. I have been struck by a truck in New York City. I am not too mobile. I use a cane but after 3 month at Odyssey I start to walk regular. The people that work here are very professional. They are humble, kind, respectful, understanding, patient, cordial will I could go on. They have a sauna and this is heaven to me, the ONLY gym in Wilkes-Barre that has a sauna, it was like welcome home, im very happy going to Odyssey it changes my life for the better. Great swimming pool and work out machine. The same gentleman that did the intake 4 years ago, was there to do my intake again, a familer face, I was very happy, I just want to say, thank you Odysse, PS I received a Odyssey tshirt, that is new. Loving it.

I have been with Odyssey Fitness for 3.5 years. Although I have gained strength and lost weight I think one of the biggest benefits is the relationships I have formed with the trainers and fellow clients. I appreciate the way the trainers strive to get to know each client personally and encourage the development of relationships in order for members to support each other outside of sessions! I can't recommend Odyssey highly enough!

This gym is the best bang for your buck they have everything. I use the sauna a lot and have found my health is already improving quite a bit. Very friendly and helpful staff. Tons of equipment and the only gym in the area with an indoor pool.

Awesome staff, wonderful trainers!! The gym is HUGE, a place for EVERYONE! Family day, bring a friend, tons of challenges, fun programs and events!! The equipment is clean, in great working order, safe and there's enough to accommodate everyone, they have a 3 track, indoor walking/running track....the pool is super clean and the temperature is perfect, as is the hot tub, stream room, sauna, tanning bed and locker rooms....highly recommend

Not the prettiest gym but still the best gym in the Wilkes Barre area. They got more amenities than any other gym & have kept their price at $45 a month even thru out inflation l. Other gyms that charge similar dont have the pool, basketball court, tennis court, etc. I recommend this gym to all my friends.

I've been going here for about 2-3 months now. Overall I would say it's worth the money. Plenty of room and equipment. They also have a pool, sauna, basketball court, free weights, cables, Olympic weights, classes, and a tennis court.
The staff is very friendly and willing to help you in any way possible.
The members understand *most* gym etiquette.
My only problem is some of the benches and equipment are rather old and need to be updated. Other than that, it's a great place to work out.

This is probably one of the most complex and ideal gyms for anyone trying to accomplish anything in the fitness space. The variety of equipment is truly unmatched to a lot of the gyms I have gone too. The environment there is nothing but motivated people pushing eachother up, never had an ounce of discomfort at this gym and I could go there for any type of workout I was choosing to pursue that day whether it was lifting weights, cardio, calisthenics, you name it they got it. Would strongly recommend to newer gym goers, average gym goers, and especially everyday gym goers. Energy is unmatched and just overall a fantastic place to be.

Very big facility with lots to offer. Large pool for laps with several lanes. Hot large ja uzzi and a steam room. Basket ball court whi h is full size for multiple pick up games. Undisputedly the best gym in the greater Wilkes-Barre/ Back Mountain area. When in town I drive all the way from the far side of Dallas, totally worth the extra commute. No other gym has a lap pool, sauna, steam room, basketball courts, boxing room, tennis, etc in the area. There is also plenty of weight room space so you do not have to be on top of other customers. Staff is amazing as well.

Odyssey Fitness Center is the best option I’ve found in the area for gyms. The most welcome I’ve ever felt in coming to look at the gym. Ryan was excellent and very helpful too! The Aquatic Fitness class was fun and a great workout with a great group of ladies too! I’d definitely recommend them for anyone. They have it all!!!

I love the gym but I recently started bringing younger brother with me and he was sent a free day pass in the mail after going with me a couple times. I thought that was nice so today I tried to take him in but he forgot his ID so we weren’t allowed in. I was told the id was needed in case he caused trouble which didn’t make complete sense to me because the day pass had his name and address on it plus he was just there with me last week he should of already be on file. Amazing gym by the way I just think we should’ve been able to work out.

I wish I would have listened to the other reviews talking about canceling services. They make you come in and sign a form to cancel and are quite nice about it. Till you get a cancelation bill for HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS in the mail! Stating you have 5 business days to pay or they disregard your cancelation request and continue charging you. Absolutely ridiculous. The gym is fine itself but their policies are awful with this. I do not recommend this gym. Go somewhere where you have the freedom to leave if life changes. And life always changes. They don't care. They just want your money.

Got the free day pass from their website so we thought we'd check it out since we're about a 30 minute drive away.
Upon entering it's quite overwhelming. The place is huge. It's broken up into quite a few separate rooms which is nice as it keeps people disbursed. One issue we noticed was how hot it is in there because the pool is located in the center of the building. Dress lightly.
The equipment is greatly affected by the heat and humidity from the pool.
Bars, plates and even the cable equipment don't work smoothly because of rust from the humidity. We had rust stains on our clothes after training.
The locker rooms were clean and the staff seemed friendly.
Will not return due to the equipment conditions and lack of maintenance on them.

Love this gym and all of its amenities available along with their equipment. Only gripe I have is their Wi-Fi capabilities. Since it’s below ground there’s no cell service with available Wi-Fi which is VERY spotty and cuts out very often leaving you with nothing. But overall awesome gym with an awesome pool.

The worst place ever! I just spoke with someone who was so rude and negligent I can't even billve it! I've been member for one year where before I sign my contract & the girl who was helping me she told me after one year I have to renew my membership!!. Well it turned out they're still charging my bank account not even calling & remind me my contract was over, and do I would like to continue to be a member or not? So the guy gets on the phone no apologies no I'm sorry was extremely rude and nasty and just told me ,,all right all right I'll discontinue right now,, I'm totally shocked how they could treat people and customers so badly and not even offer to refund 2 months payment which illegally has ben taken from my bank account???? I started with Odyssey getting day passes because I wasnt sure I would like it. I have done other gyms and always felt "weird" and "out of place" I feel super comfortable going to odyssey. I had my training session with Krista, it was amazing! As a beginner, I never understood machines, how they work, what they work, and at different places no one would ever explain if I asked. My first day at odyssey Krista went over everything I needed, and put together a workout plan with me specifically for my body. I didnt feel rushed, or like she had better things to do, she actually kept saying im so sorry if im keeping you. She took the time to make sure I understood. She also had me do the machines to ensure my posture was good, and helped me correct any bad posture I did. Which was what I needed. I just had 2 abdominal surgeries, and altogether 8 surgeries from a head on collision with an under the influence driver in 2014 at 60 mph, so I am beginners beginner. She had the knowledge of "Ok so your going to avoid this machine , stay away from that machine until you can build up the muscles for this, or that". Also, the environment like other members are all friendly from the body builders- all muscular (which i would normally be intimidated lol) down to elderly people. I seen some people leaving reviews had a horrible experience, and I am so sorry they did. If you are like me, below a beginner, go here! The cost is more than planet fitness, but believe me, it is sooo worth it.

Our Charges were $46.95 per month on the fifth of every month and then jumped to $70.95 per month on 6/5/18 with no warning,

From 1/1/18 up to and including 6/26/18 my Wife made 6 calls to Odyssey to attempt to cancel our membership roughly once per month. Every single time the answer was that the billing department was on vacation and that we would have to call back later or stop in. In that period my Wife drove to the facility to cancel twice and was told the same story "the billing department is on vacation".

On 6/27/18 my Wife called and said our credit card information had changed and was immediately transferred to the billing department, where she was able to cancel our membership.

My current membership was coming to a close and though I loved where I was behind the old club amnesia, I simply needed more. This area has almost as many fitness options as we do for Pizza (ok not that many, but you get it)... having been familiar with the old Y when there was a real weight room and racquetball to the new class of Gym located in the spot I had a roller skating party in Kingston.. "The Odyssey" was the only spot I didn't know about besides my friend Danny H. Telling me it was awesome as he and a few friends were members. I took a tour, Cindy walked me all around the property - the HIIT friendly area with Four Power Racks, Four deadlift platforms, sleds, Kettlebells and anything else you could need which came at no extra cost - the pool which came at no extra cost - free weights, new machines, basketball court, indoor track, impressive class schedule which went well with my work schedule (9-5er here) - they also have Raquetball! Locker room is clean and modern, I was there at 6:30pm on a weeknight and it wasn't crowded (partially because the place is bigger than a Walmart) - Cindy was super helpful as I had a ton of questions... it was too good to be true and I was going to find the weak link she was hiding from me and crack the code. It never happened. We sat down and went over pricing. Price point was perfect. Far less than I anticipated with far more amenities than I anticipated. Needless to say I signed- I can't believe I wasted time at any other spot. The attitude there is friendly, communal even, and I haven't regretted joining since the day I signed up. PS the smoothie bar is awesome! Five Stars!
