They can change their schedule, removing classes and changing times, at any given time. Unfortunately they don’t tell you this when you lock in to a 12-month contract. If you have a class you love, be prepared for it to be canceled. In the event you attempt to cancel early, you’re required to provide a 30 days notice, but you are not given that same courtesy regarding schedule changes (if any notice at all).
If you love inconsistency, double standards, and paying $130/month to clean your own equipment, this is the studio for you.

Looking for community, routine, and fitness? This is the place for you! I became an Orangetheory member right out of college, looking for more routine in my fitness journey. The workouts are top notch, focusing on cardio and strength training. The coaches are all personal trainers and/or group fitness instructors and are there to help you along the way! Give Orangetheory a shot and I promise you won’t regret it!

The coaches and staff at OTF East End are amazing! They create such a welcoming and encouraging environment that I always look forward to class. The coaches are very motivating and knowledgeable - pushing me on days when I'm feeling great and suggesting scaled alternatives on days that I may not be. Overall, OTF East End is a wonderful community and I always leave class in a better place - physically and mentally.

This OTF is amazing. The staff and coaches are spectacular here and I’m always motivated when I walk in the door. The workouts are challenging but approachable and scalable as you progress from complete beginner onward. This Orangetheory is the best! Not only is the structure great (they plan out every single detail and you don’t have to think- just have to do!), but the motivation is amazing! The coaches are amazing and will definitely help you 1 on 1 if you are doing something not 100%. This studio is so good that classes are always packed- so book ahead!

Not a fan of this studio location. It’s always packed and busy, there’s always a waitlist of 10+ people for any class after work hours or on weekends. I usually get off the waitlist the night before class, but it’s still frustrating to plan around my busy schedule. I am personally not a fan of 3G classes, I’ve had a few different instructors and they’re never watching our form or correcting us since there’s too many of us there. I don’t feel welcome at this studio either, the vibe is off and not friendly, positive or motivating. Wouldn’t recommend.

The visual feedback is so helpful and motivating for me. I've always wondered if working out was "doing anything" besides exhausting me. I love being able to glance at the screen to see my heart rate, calories and what I need to do to reach the goal of 12-20 splat points. Also love that the coaches walk you through everything. I don't want to have to figure out my own workouts at a gym. Love having their expertise to guide and push me!

I indicated I was interested in Orange theory online. Ever since they have been non stop texting and calling (waking me up at 615am). I have replied "STOP" to their messages and am still getting texts and calls. I was excited to try out a class but the spam/aggressive sales has totally turned me off.

Jeez, I love OrangeTheory, it pains me to give two stars but hopefully this doesn’t go unheard. I have traveled a lot and been to multiple studios. I am a member at my home studio for 4-5 years now. Going forward, I will be sure to book my hotels in a different part of Pittsburgh closer to another studio.
Unfortunately, not very welcoming, little motivation and instruction from the coach who just stood at their computer entire class. Nothing personalized or focused towards anyone. Coach even walked out of the workout room before people were done stretching. Never seen anything like this. Front desk and coach just complained and spread a negative vibe right as you walk in the door. Especially knowing I had never been to this location, which is clear because I had to fill out paperwork when I showed up, then was just ignored, rather than welcomed and opening their location to me.
Plus side, new treads and good music.

Bad experience with this studio overall! I’ve been charged multiple times a month for different levels of memberships that I don’t even have. They never answer the phone ever so good luck talking to anyone. Trying to cancel after pausing multiple months and they make it very very difficult! I FINALLY got someone on the phone and they said I could cancel no problem. Then they reach out via email and say that employee was incorrect and I would be charged another month. It’s all over the place. Try somewhere else instead. NOT worth it.

Joined the free trial class, wasn’t bad. But the reception lady forced me to get back to them on valentines’ day (when I had the free class) for membership. She claimed I would lose benefits if I don’t join on the day (which appears to be false). Realized the red flag and didn’t get back to them. Kept getting harassing phone calls from the sales on a weekly basis for a month. I blocked one and another came in. Whats wrong w the sales?! Do you really think happy customers would block ur phone? Why bother attempting?!

EDIT: canceled my membership since I wouldn’t be able to attend. While everything worked out the process was not all that great.
First I was charged for a class that I attended. The person at the desk said she’d correct it and refund me since I caught it right after class. It never happened. I had to email the studio manager to finally get refunded. The email address is cryptic and hard to find. I have a feeling unless you’re talking to a manager… your request likely won’t happen.
Second, when trying to cancel, you really have to do your due diligence. I don’t have faith that they would have cancelled my membership unless I emailed them and bugged them multiple times. I see newer reviews that echo this. I am relieved I wasn’t charged this month and I think I’m done for good. I was ready to change my credit card number lol.
I think management of this studio has unfortunately gone downhill. It’s unfortunate because a while ago I had a lot of trust in management, but not as much now days.
Love the workout and there are a lot of great coaches and friendly people. The studio just needs to build community again, and give people easier control of their membership and account. Current membership practices are shady AF.

I noticed a lot of negativity about booking classes. While it is true that they fill up fast, the way I have overcome that is when I wake up early in the morning to go to class before work, I book a class for the new day that opened up. But even when I decide "Shoot I don't want to wake up early tomorrow, I want to move to the evening class 24/48 hours prior" I can almost always get on the waitlist, and quite frankly, every time I get on the waitlist, I am almost always allowed in. Even if you are like 18th on the list, if you show up early, its first come first serve for waitlisted people. You don't have to be "accepted in" officially. I really enjoy the place, and the people!

It is incredibly motivating and I love that every class is different, yet familiar. After a few weeks, you get to know many of the exercises so that you know how to do them and what weights/pace to do, but the order and reps and how they fit into the workout are always fresh. The other big thing is that you see results and the constantly adjusting heart monitor approach keeps you from plateauing and keeps it challenging. It is great from top to bottom, the equipment, the coaches, the music, and of course the workout.

I'm visiting from Nebraska so I decide to go to a studio while I was in Pittsburgh. First of all, the girl at the front desk has no idea what forms she should give you to fill out. Second, I was waitlisted so I was calling to see if she recommended me to show up. I don't live here so I have to pay for lyft/uber to get around. She never answered the phone, I called 12 times to be specific and between 1pm and 4pm which are the times that no classes are being held. Third, when I got there and asked about the waitlisted group, she was rude and ignore me because she was gossiping with someone. Finally, I got into class but she put me on a broken treadmill and I had to use the strider which I don't like because I love running. Clearly, this person needs to be trained properly and also be on top of what equipments are working or not at the studio. It seems like she doesn't care about her job and has zero customer service experience. I have visited several studios and this is the first time I have this terrible experience.

I leave every OrangeTheory workout feeling like it was an hour well-spent. Each class is a fantastic mix of cardio and strength work, often at the same time. As a long-time runner, the treadmill section challenges me to push myself in ways that I can't or don't when I go for runs outside. I never really enjoyed time on a treadmill before, but at OrangeTheory, it's always motivating. Furthermore, all of the instructors are knowledgeable and uplifting. Thanks, OrangeTheory Pittsburgh!

I think I would love OTF if I had more of a chance to try it out. However, it’s IMPOSSIBLE to get into classes at this location, especially as someone who works 9 to 5. Then say you’re on the waiting list and get in the day of but can’t go, you lose the credit (they have a crazy cancellation policy for classes, I think it was 90 hours). They recommend you book weeks out, but my work schedule is demanding and unpredictable, so I can’t do that. Also, they have a 30 day cancellation policy, so even though I canceled three weeks in after realizing I could never get into classes, I had to pay for another month. OTF may be great, but not the east liberty location.

I unfortunately have to give a negative review despite enjoying the classes here. I had a knee injury in April so I called to see if I could put a "freeze" on my membership, which the employee said would not be a problem. They told me there would be a $15 charge for freezing my membership but I can call back to re-activate it. I called back in June to do so and was speaking with the manager, by coincidence. The manager told me that she did not see any freeze on my membership and that the employee must not have left a note properly on my account for the freeze. She informed me that I was charged for May and June. I asked her if she can refund me since the mistake was made by the employee and she said there was nothing she can do since there was no proof to show to the owner. I of course was very upset to hear that I was charged an amount of $318 without stepping foot in a class due to my injury. She saw that I had not attended a class since mid April but stated there was nothing she could do. I asked for an immediate cancellation and she said I would be charged another $159 for my upcoming month of membership. It was very upsetting that they did not try to make it right in any way for the mistake made by the employee and did not show sympathy other than saying "this is the worst part of my job."

I have had a horrible experience trying to cancel with this studio -- I keep getting charged despite giving my one month written notice and no one will respond to my emails or phone calls. I've had to work directly with the credit card company. They do not care that they are oversubscribed and it is very difficult to get into a class at desirable class times.

In from Kansas City for a Thanksgiving visit, and I'm a relative newbie...first time ever to visit a different studio away from home. The gorgeous and upbeat Cindy made me feel very welcome, walked me through modifications on the weight floor, and ran a very professional and motivating class. For other folks thinking about trying an out of town studio, if the studio you're visiting has a pro like Cindy, you'll be glad you took the plunge to try an out of town workout!

I started at OTF 3 months ago and I love it! I was worried because I am at the beginning of my journey and so many of my classmates are super fit and I'm over here like geeze are you people part deer 😅. But I don't ever feel like I'm being judged everyone even the super fit classmates are super encouraging and kind. The coaches are AWESOME. Every single coach at east end is incredible. I learn something new from them each time. I love it here it's very much you're own journey and seeing the splat points add up on the screen seeing your hard work pay off with the group is really cool.
Some people on here complain about getting in class I go at 6:15 and I have never had an issue if the app is being goofy call the studio the girls get you in no problem. I am super excited to keep going at this great studio!

Love OTF. It can be my own personal church. It’s the one hour a day where I get me time- no calls, no stress, unplugged!
I’ve been a member of Orange Theory for several years in different cities. It took me a little while to find one in Pittsburgh that fit, after relocation. However, this one is it! I have favorite coaches (Cindy, Kacy, Kelly, Krista) and I look forward to classes because of them. Now, I know 4 is a lot of favorites- but they motivate me and all push me. I feel accountable to them. I have an injury- and they help give suggestions. I am getting to know the other members and it’s truly a great community. Plus, music makes a difference and they do great!
Many people may be concerned about a group class, yet, it’s one thing I love. The members are all ages, all skill levels and nobody pays attention to what you are doing. Yet, those times you may want to give up or slow down may not happen because you see someone else out of the corner of your eye pushing through.
“The Covid Times” make some things challenging, however, I feel safe in this gym- and feel they keep things as clean as possible.
The front desk staff is friendly. Scheduling can be tight for some of my preferred times, however, I always get into a class even from the wait list.

I'm a restaurant owner and have a rigorous and physically demanding schedule. Since joining Orange Theory I injure myself less often at work. I also am running a mile faster than at any point in my life, which is saying something because I am 40 years old and when I was a teenager I could run a mile in a little over six minutes. I also was diagnosed with Crohn's disease in 2007 and am pleasantly surprised by the physical condition I find myself in today. Orange Theory is a big part of that!

Impossible to get a class. You will need to book the class at least 2 weeks in advance as soon as the new classes are posted.
Machines stay broken for far too long.
Bluetooth connection to track heart rates goes down too often too.
Owner and manager are clearly maximizing the amount of subscriptions they have on file and putting the minimum into upkeep.
Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere.

After hearing really good things about OTF my husband and I decided to try it out for ourselves.
You can get one free class and then decide if you want to join or not.
The coaches and staff were so friendly and encouraging. It’s not like going to a regular gym and feel intimidated. The atmosphere is refreshing that my insecurities completely went away once I started talking to the staff.
If you don’t know how to do something they take the time to explain.
If you feel uncomfortable with a part of the workout they give you alternative that still works the same part of the body, but more comfortable for you.
You go at your own pace and I never felt pushed to the point of being intimidated.
After the workout you chose whether you want to join and I was hooked right after!
I haven’t worked out in years and this made me so excited to continue making this a weekly thing I signed up for 8 classes a month.
The reviews on here about scheduling are NOT accurate. It seems like people don’t have the motivation to work out and they’re blaming it on orange theory. It’s just like anything you have to WANT to do it, and my experience made me want to continue coming back.. I haven’t had trouble getting into any classes that fit my schedule, and even if I did you can always chose a different location.
It’s a genuine place to be and the reason I’ll never step foot in a regular gym in my life.
Getting a membership isn’t just a commitment to OTF, it’s a commitment to yourself.
If you want a positive atmosphere and results this is the place to be!

Getting into a class is a nightmare. If you have nothing but time on your hands, it might work out okay for you. The last straw was when a tree had fallen on one of the main roads I take to get there. My 20 min ride turned into 45 and when I arrived at 7:17, they had given my spot away and charged me for the class anyway. So they made extra money that day, charging me and the person who took my spot. I get that this is their policy but I’ll no longer be wasting money ($20 per class when you buy a ten pack) to try and attempt to get into a class and then loose it, in the case of unforeseen circumstances. When people ask me about the workout, I only recommend it if they are able to take class at a different studio. Goodbye and good riddance.

ned up through email to do my first class. It was free and the person emailing me was helpful and quick to respond to get my boyfriend and I in for our first class. We were able to get into a class the same exact day that we emailed them! We thought this was a good sign after reading comments about this location being overcrowded with no workout slots available.
We arrived early for our workout. A girl at the front desk checked us in. he was really kind and easy to talk to. She did almost immediately begin asking us about signing up for memberships. Se had a chart with all the pricing that she showed us. It was weird considering we hadnt even done the workout yet.
Workout was great. JR was an awesome instructor! Personable and knowledgeable. The gym area was clean and organized and the music was fun and upbeat.
After the workout I told the people upfront that we wanted to think about it before signing up. We ended up signing up the second we got home. The first impression was amazing! We were so excited to get started. I got a full time membership and my boyfriend did the 4 times a month membership. The girl that helped me sign up scheduled me for my first two classes easily and I was excited to start!
We were leaving for vacation so I wouldnt be going back for about two weeks meaning even while I was away I was going to be scheduling classes for when I got back.
I was on the app exactly when I needed to be to schedule my class. They were full! 1 minute after opening. completely full. So i figured I am full time I can schedule the following day. Same exact thing! 1 minute after the class being opened it was full! So not only couldn't my boyfriend get his 1 in a week. I (for my first 2 weeks there) would only be doing 2 workouts! I paid for full time and in two weeks can only go 2 times???!
Which is funny because when we were interested in singing up for the free class they got us in that same day. Probably let us in front of members who should have taken precedence over us.
So before even taking a class I decided this was not for me. I couldn't do the signing up online. The high price was worth the workout, but not if I could only go 2 times in two weeks. What was I paying for then?
I called to cancel. No answer. Called three times in one day no answer. Sent an email as they ask in their automated answering machine. No answer. Wake up one morning to another charge for 15$.
No surprise that I have called several times today and sent emails and have yet to get a response. I am confused as to why they are never able to answer the phone. Why are they saying to email if they do not answer those either? Why are they letting people sign up when they know they wont be able to get you in for a workout at the time that you want.
This place was a huge flop for me. I am now at a more traditional gym full time taking classes with a trainer 2 times a week and I am paying 2$ less than what I would have been at orange theory. Not worth it! I feel like this was a good idea but when actually played out it just doesn't work. The signing up for every single class on the app just does not work especially when I couldn't even get into classes.
Also, hard to trust them when I keep being charged and haven't even been there in over a month and a half.

The front desk staff here does. not. care. The coaches will make sure you get a great workout (especially JR), but don’t count on the front desk to check on you or your HR monitor. You’d think they would care about the key selling point of their franchise, but I think this location is just over-worked and too crowded. Try another location.

Work outs are geared toward all fitness levels. Coaches are very approachable and correct your movements if you aren't doing them correctly. Each workout is challenging and different each time I go. I love OTF and would definitely recommend them.

Let me start out by saying that OTF is an amazing workout, and the trainers and staff at the Pittsburgh East End location are awesome! Now the reason for the two star review.. getting into classes is an absolute nightmare. The schedule comes out two weeks in advance, and the classes fill up almost immediately upon release. This means you need to have a fairly constant daily schedule over a two week period. This in itself isn't a huge issue, and my partner and I loved the workout so much that we would wake up at midnight just to sign up. However recently the release of the schedule has been erratic, making it impossible for us to get into the classes we want. Upon asking the staff when the schedule is released so we could plan to sign up, we were told anywhere between 8pm and midnight. I'm not sure why they can't prepare the schedule ahead of time and have it release automatically at a consistent time every day, but for $160/mo it's ridiculous Im expected to diligently watch my phone for a four hour window every day just to get into classes. Note that I started working out at OTF in Chicago IL before I moved to Pittsburgh, and that studio has none of these issues.

Orange theory is a great place to workout. Every day is a new challenge, and I like not thinking about what I am going to do. I am on the monthly plan of $59/four workouts per month. It is a nice addition to my life knowing that once a week, I will have an intense workout that helps maintain and tone my muscles. I travel often and have enjoyed dropping into other locations!

You'll be exhausted but it is so rewarding and worth it. The trainers and way the class is structured keeps it from getting boring like most exercise routines.

I love OTF. The workouts are amazing and I feel energized for days after. OTF has enhanced my outdoor running and training more than anything I've tried before.

It is a great workout. But the gym is getting busier and its harder to get into classes - and with having to prepay for the month, only be able to quit in 2 months, and losing any unused sessions - its getting to be a worse experience.

The coaches at East End - Pittsburgh are the best. They make the workout a positive time. At 5 AM, Wes, Holly, Claire, and JR are energetic and enthusiastic. They make me want to do the best I can during the workout. I love the variety of the Orangetheory workout. My favorite class is one with a lot of short blocks. I recommend Orangetheory to everyone I know.

I've been to 3 or 4 OTF locations in Denver and Pittsburgh and have never had the same workout twice in over a year of going. Each class works a ton of muscle groups, you're never bored and you get an absolute amazing workout. Usually great music too. The only thing that I would recommend to the Pittsburgh trainers is to make sure you're working with the group to stretch the particular muscle groups you excercised during class. They were diligent about this in Denver and it made the world of difference the next day or two after class. Overall highly recommend!

I love the early morning workouts - the energy and the intensity make my day. The workouts are definitely never boring and push me to focus and work out as hard and as possible, with proper body mechanics and ability to visually check my heart rate throughout.

I've seen Orange Theory around and wanted to give it a try. When I saw I could make it to a class, I dashed over and made it about 5 minutes before the class started. When I approached the person working at the counter, I explained I'd never been there before, but I saw they had a class and I wanted to give it a try if they had room. I was met with a VERY confused look and "ummmmmm, what?". I re-explained myself and then was asked "Who are you?". I explained I had never been there before, told her my name and said I wanted to take a class. As this process continued a few times, I realized it just wasn't going to happen (Maybe there is something I was being confusing about or something I don't understand about Orange Theory, I'll give them the benefit of the doubt). I eventually just said thanks, and headed out. This was a very strange experience, not sure if I'll be heading there again.
The place looked nice and was clean, everyone seemed excited about being there. Sad I missed it!
