Just joined today and we loved it. Great pool, state of the art gym with awesome classes. Good food options!
Updated 10/8/2020
Covid-19 hit and things changed. I know that it’s not their fault that some things are closed but the trip spin class is no more and it’s more of a ghost town. Sadly they removed the restaurant to put in another yoga studio... not happy about that and they have zero weekend hours for my children to go to kid zone. We use to spend our weekends at Oxford as a family for four. We would workout and shower while the kids were in kid zone. As a family we would grab lunch every sat. Now we are considering canceling our membership. Dues are expensive and there is less of everything. Bring back kidzone and the cafe!!!
Update 1/6/22
The gym is going down hill. Has so much potential but it’s so dirty. The bathrooms in the Womens locker room have been out of order for over a month… dirt and filth everywhere. So gross. Clean this place up!

I’ve gone to Oxford with my mom a few times when I am visiting. I remember coming here on field trips as a kid! It’s always felt like an upscale club and I’ve enjoyed the different spaces I’ve used while there.
My mom is absolutely in love with all the Les Mills classes. I hear so much about Body Pump and the fun instructors - she has convinced me to try it next visit. I am a yoga teacher and I enjoyed the practice that was offered and the space was really lovely.
It’s a bit confusing to get around and not a lot of signage that I saw which made it frustrating but overall it’s very updated and nice.

Great facility, awesome childcare options, nice pool, well kept and clean. Lots of great kids activities and offerings as well, awesome working area to get out of the house for remote employees, tennis courts are also beautiful, friendly staff.
The only (minor) negatives are very expensive guest policy and there is poor cell service in the building and the wifi connection doesn't work on the gym floor level.

Expensive, hot and humid in summer, spotty wifi, dated pools, full classes, no free events for kids, extremely expensive add ons like tennis and swimming, charges $50 for a guest pass and $369 a month for a family of four.

We have been members since my daughter was an infant, the real reason we joined was the wonderful childcare option for infants. There are different areas in kidzone according to age and she’s just graduated to the last level (she’ll be there for awhile!). I’ve seen this area go through many changes over the years, continually improving, with activities, toys and special themes.
Summer birthdays can be tough for a plethora of reasons and one day while picking my child up from Kidzone I saw the AD for parties. I looked into the packages they offer later that day and decided to pursue this as an option. Jonathan was so helpful from the initial email, it was such a seamless easy process to plan. All the kids who attended never once seemed bored, and they couldn’t get enough face painting. Across the board - everyone enjoyed the food selection. Break down of the room was also so easy, Sarah and Ella were so helpful taking decorations down, packing the leftover food up and helping bring gifts to the car. Highly suggest looking into their party packages for birthdays.

This gym has become a danger zone! Horrible response from staff as I was aggressively pushed down to the floor while walking the track by some very angry woman, I had to go upstairs to report it, not a staff member in sight! The staff then brought her to the office and she started screaming and threatening my family and the staff while I was making an incident report, the staff had to remove her, she was in the wrong in both counts and no action was taken against her by Oxford club and no safety changes were made to the crossing of the walking track, this is a major a safety issue! There are no staff overseeing the gym floor whatsoever, I recently witnessed a child around 12-13 years old doing cartwheels around the track, missing kicking people in the face by inches, no one stopped her and members were completely shocked! Oxford doesn’t care because that doesn’t bring revenue! The gym is now run by children with no experience dealing with issues. The only place in the entire gym that is staffed is the office that sells memberships! We cancelled our family membership and two other families are doing the same due to safety concerns after this !

When I signed up I was told I get 2 guest passes a month included. Now long after the initial sign up, they changed it to no free guest passes, it costs $40 and now they can’t be offered on weekend at all. I’m sure there some slimy little stipulation in the contract they can change this but as anyone knows as a consumer, when a company relies on a slimy tactic like this rescinding what was agreed upon, it’s a sign of a business that doesn’t care about its customers. $40 for a day pass?? Give me a break, for the amount of money people pay a month, a free guest pass is the least they can do.

This place is unparalleled to any club or gym I’ve ever belonged to! Not only do they have everything, from class to machine to weights , boxing, pools, saunas, food, WiFi areas, you could want, but I just attended a FREE health seminar put on by a brilliant doctor where I leaned soooooo much! And the entire place is so clean, even the shower areas where I don’t even need to bring towels or shampoo etc! PRICELESS and AMAZING!

Great facility with many amenities and a wonderful staff.
The price is many times more expensive than most gyms. That being the case, the WiFi should always work but there are still days that it doesn’t. Very disappointed that you replaced your most versatile machine with more unused ellipticals.
It often feels less like a gym with a daycare, and more like a daycare with a gym.

I've been a member of Oxford Athletic Club since moving to Pittsburgh three + years ago, and I couldn’t be happier! I joined because of the amenities.- Newish gym equipment, the latest classes, indoor and outdoor pools, beautiful yoga room, sauna and steam room, + The racquet courts are an added bonus. The staff is fantastic, and the facilities are always clean. The instructors are incredibly talented and knowledgeable—Roni’s TRX classes are great, Pam’s water aerobics are so much fun, and Leslie’s yoga is absolutely amazing. If you’re looking for a club that has it all, Oxford is definitely worth it.

Beginning May 1, 2025 Oxford has revised their guest policy. No guests permitted on weekends. No complimentary guest passes. A single day guest pass charge 45.00. Makes it impossible to enjoy a weekend with an immediate family member in for the weekend. Grandparents in for the weekend unfortunately can’t spend day with grandchildren at the pool. La Fitness, Sewickley YMCA, Pure Athletics much more reasonable monthly charge and reasonable guest policies.

Nice facility with a variety of classes, when you can get into them. They keep adding more classes but also new members, so classes can get filled quickly. Some of the more popular ones you have to set your alarm and sign up at the exact time or you won’t get in.
My biggest regret of joining Oxford is that the facility is extremely loud. It is beyond what is acceptable level for hearing health especially when the instructors are using microphones to scream to be heard overtop their music. Even if you are working out in a different room or areas you are subjected to the loud music and instructors. You can hear the Pulse studio from parking lot and if you are in the Balance room area, there are 3-4 other classes going on at the same volume. Even the “quiet zen yoga/pilates area” overlooks the pool where the instructors blast music and scream. It’s funny that a health facility doesn’t seem to care about hearing damage. Members talk about the noise level and many wear earplugs but nothing changes.

Oxford has been so influential on my fitness journey. The club is great and offers so much; there is actually something for everyone. The facilities are well maintained as well. But know, that there is a big price tag for all of the amenities that you pay for. This will probably lead to me not being a member for the long term, but if you have the money, this place is spectacular!

Extremely Disappointed - This Club Has Gone Downhill
I’ve been a member of Oxford Athletic Club for over 10 years, and I can confidently say it’s time to move on. The place has deteriorated so badly over the years, it’s honestly frustrating to even walk in the door. The hygiene protocols? Barely followed. The shower areas are consistently filthy. It’s clear no one’s paying attention to cleanliness. And speaking of staff, they are some of the most unfriendly and unprofessional people I’ve encountered at a gym. Zero effort in customer service.
Now let’s talk about the pool – you would think the lifeguards are there to, I don’t know, monitor the pool? Not at Oxford. Every time I’m there, they’re either glued to their phones or reading books, completely ignoring the pool, and yes, even when minors are swimming! It’s a disaster waiting to happen.
And don’t even get me started on how often things are out of order. Whether it’s the steam room, sauna, or whirlpool – something is always broken. The maintenance is absolutely terrible, and it’s obvious they just don’t care about keeping up with the facility anymore. I expected so much more from a place I’ve been loyal to for over a decade. Extremely disappointed and won’t be recommending this place to anyone.

My family joined the Oxford Athletic Club when we moved here in 2020. Despite the pandemic we were able to continue taking care of our physical health once allowed. The classes, pool, trainers and our tennis coach Tyler have been amazing. I particularly love Zumba and the Trip classes. The yoga space is beautiful. The sense of community I feel with the other patrons is wonderful as well. The pools and cafe are added bonuses as well.

OAC has areas which are oustanding & areas that really need improvement. The staff are very kind & helpful. The restaurant service & food outstanding. The upper level & tennis court look great. I think improvement areas is the indoor/ outdoor pool. Just feels dated & less premium versus other areas. Also, the bathrooms, especially family ones are often looking like they need to be better maintained.

Just did the 3 day trial and we’ve decided we’re not joining. It’s a nice club. However, it’s extremely expensive and you don’t get the feel you’re looking for at that price point. My husband and I were most interested in the pool. The pool feels like a YMCA. There are screaming running kids EVERYWHERE. They’re having tantrums, they’re dropping food, they’re running into you as you’re walking to your chair with a drink. It’s great for families with kids, it’s not for us. Also, wanted to see what the wifi area would be like to work remotely for the day. Again, SCREAMING kids. It’s situated right next to a daycare room and it’s just nonstop screaming that you can plainly hear through the wall. One mother even brought her 2 young kids in and sat literally on top of me as I was working. The area was full of adults working on their laptops. There’s no shortage of seating areas in the club including a giant cafe. I don’t understand the need to have your kids yell and climb on the chairs right next to me as I’m working? Anyway, went into the cafe for a coffee and a bite. Kitchen was closed because of a leak or something. That was disappointing. Walked around the cafe to check it out and there’s this adult couple (40’s?) sitting in a booth making out to the point of like needing a private hotel room or something. It was wild. So, the vibe at OAC is either insane Chuck E. Cheese or Playboy mansion grotto. lol. Again, nice club (nice, updated amenities) but just not what we’re looking for.

A month after my wife and I canceled our YMCA membership due to a lack of open time for swimming (therapy for my wife), I can say that the Oxford Athletic Club facility and staff stand out above anything I’ve seen locally. Clean and well-maintained, the facility has a lot to offer to anyone: two pools, a great cardio area, and a weight training area with free weights and exercise. I’ve had zero downtime with no waiting for equipment; you can conduct a quick workout or stretch your routine to fit your time. Available meeting rooms and a quiet area add the feeling of an exclusive club.
For my wife and I, the pool area is critical. The indoor pool is an excellent blend of lap swimming and exercise space, which we were looking for in a facility. The outdoor pool is like a cruise deck but with a much larger pool. Good food can be delivered to your seat. Great cheeseburgers!
An observation: if you have a young family and want your children to take swimming lessons and be safe around the water, this is the place. I’ve observed several teaching sessions with small children, and the instructors are excellent and have small children comfortable with the water very quickly. I watched a young boy of about 10 learn the butterfly stroke—an accomplishment for any age.
I have heard many pitches for health clubs over the years, but this is the first one where everything I was told was available. This is a great health club.

Oxford has all the weights, power racks, and deadlift platforms for all the gainz. It's all pain, all gainz, no baby reppin and big lifts. Huge well ventilated space. Big open doors. Lots of fresh air flow and so clean you can probably eat off the floor. Just say no to a sedentary lifestyle and get jacked. Get over to Oxford immediately. It's the best. Something for everyone and awesome atmosphere. Stay fit n healthy. I love my Oxford experience.

Nice facility, but alot of things need to be fixed for the expensive price we have to pay.
1. Lockers don’t get cleaned out, there’s been dirty tissues in 2 of the lockers I use the past 5 times I’ve went.
2. Machines are hard to adjust seats/ levers because they are not lubed up. Sometimes you can’t even get them adjusted at all.
3. Steam room doesn’t get cleaned out, lots of water / weird stains that could easily be gone by being wiped down.
4. Machines are pretty worn and old, still nice though
I hope the management will start working on these issues so I can change my review.

I love that I can work out in the morning before work, get food and coffee at the cafe then work from the cafe or the WiFi lounge for however long I need. I love the smorgasbord of classes including pilates, barre, yoga, spinning, BodyPump & more. The locker room has all the amenities including body gel, shampoo, conditioner, hair spray, etc. so it makes it easy to only have to bring a small handful of items like my brush. I’m excited to try the sauna and the pool out soon as well!

I understand that they’re rehabbing the building and fixing it up, but the bathrooms are terrible, which is the sad part. They have all these events going on, but on the lower level, there aren't any handicap bathrooms available. If you're handicapped, it’s impossible to get up to the upper level because there are only steps and no elevator.

My sister in law goes to this gym and really enjoys the luxurious and expensive feel it has. Unfortunately her child, my niece, has recently complained about the lack of coloring pages the Kidzone have to offer. She said there is a limit to how much paper each kid can use, they are limited to 1 piece if there is any left…. Why are people asked to pay so much when the gym cannot even afford to take care of the children… A perk of Oxford that makes it unique is that they watch your kids for you, which is the reason why so many parents choose to go to Oxford. Yet they are very obviously not prioritizing the care of the children. I cannot even imagine how little the employees get paid who take care their members kids…

I am personally offended by the pay by age policy. I inquired about joining. As a 60 yr old I was $198 - my 23 yr old daughter $119. There was no income question. They asked age - and when I asked why was told they have an “age/income” payment system. So the assumption is the older you are the more money? Very disappointed in this club.
Will join elsewhere but had been excited about club offering. It is not about the rate but their age policy which is ludicrous.

The place is great with so many facilities like a basketball court and swimming along with tennis. My only complain is that in the evening hours the basketball court on the right is taken up when it is in most demand by people who exercises and yoga on the side. The group of people who use occupy a small space but they demand that the entire half court is also theirs. I wish they were moved to somewhere else so we could use the whole court.

What was once an enjoyable and unique club 7 years ago is now a mainstream commercial gym, completely devoid of personality and filled with annoying high schoolers and pretentious swimmers. It used to be a unique experience coming here, as it allowed a family friendly scene to peacefully coexist with an athletic community. However after their remodeling two years ago, they completely killed what made this place so special. There is essentially zero room now for people who want to come here to swim with their family, sit at a bar, or come enjoy the more casual aspects of this community. Since then they've axed ALL of the more casual "Club" like aspects of this place, and made it pretty much a bloated generic gym. Unfortunately after coming here for over 15 years, I am going to stop coming here and instead suggest you find a different place to go to. You should save your money and go to a smaller gym that charges a quarter as much as these guys do.

Absolutely loved the facility when I was going. Never had an issues always friendly staff. I move to a different career and try to cancel my membership. They specifically have a clause in the contract that if you cancel you will get billed an additional month prorated. Also I either had to go there and cancel in person obviously way out of my way or send certified mail so I had to spend money to cancel. That’s absolutely absurd that this athletic center is that money hungry to take from a 21 year old kid paying their 120$ a month for a full year and they can’t even accommodate but they are completely fine charging me a prorated additional month. Although this is a great place to go to get a workout in, cancelling a membership is another factor, I was not presented with the option of a 3 month contract, 6, and 12 month contract I was presented with an annual payment and that was all, so now that I can no longer get to that location I have to pay every month for a place a can barely get free time to go to, take this into your consideration.

The facilities and amenities at this club are great - you really get what you pay for. However, when you want to cancel it is a NIGHTMARE. It may be a pandemic, but they still make you come in and fill out a form (which then starts a 40-day cancellation timer guaranteeing one more monthly payment, per membership agreement). Alternatively, they can send it to you but you have to mail it back, no emailing allowed. These practices exist ONLY to make it difficult to cancel your membership and collect even more money from an already expensive membership.
Be wary of this when considering joining.

Horrendous business practices. At the start of COVID, we froze our membership as per the recommendation of the staff, rather than cancel and were told we could cancel without any fees due to COVID. Well, we moved out of state and out of courtesy, we called to let them know we wanted to permanently cancel. Long story short, much back and forth and they still went ahead and charged us a month of fees after no charges for 8 months. All because we notified them we were cancelling. I should have just let it stay frozen in perpetuity. We have disputed the charges and our CC company has decided to back our case.

It’s tough to deny that many businesses felt the brunt of Coronavirus shutdowns. Oxford Club was an in especially precarious position given they run group classes, have a gym, and serve food and drinks.
I’m one that feels strongly you can see the true character of a business when it’s challenged. Prior to the Shutdown, Oxford began taking safety precautions before most businesses even considered it. They ramped up hand sanitizer and spaced out classes. They shutdown when/before they needed to and most importantly, they turned off membership billing. Shutting down your business’ revenue stream is the most drastic, difficult decision a business can make, but they made it immediately and with grace.
Not only did they do right by customers during a trying time, but they’ve managed to upgrade and expand. The reopen has been nothing but a success. Both Carolina Quiroga and Emily Jamison do a great job communicating Oxford Club's journey to full return.
Their outdoor pool is fantastic, swim and tennis for kids (my daughter has experienced both) are top notch, and the gym is high-end. All the employees are personable and energetic and seem to love what they do. Its an affordable club that offers families and individuals a high-end wellness and entertainment experience.

Full service, upmarket athletic club in the style of those in London, NY, or LA, the only of it's kind in the area. You get complete racket sports facilities (indoor tennis, outdoor clay courts, racquetball, and squash), gym facilities, basketball courts, indoor and outdoor pools, a cafe, bar, virtual golf, pro shop, and executive quarters including a private club restaurant. They have a wide array of specialty classes and personal instructive offerings in gym training and sports too. Plus competitions and special events. And all the boutique amenities of a world class facility. The kids are crazy about the place too. The outdoor pool is the place they all want to be in summer. They have child care for the younger ones and have activities for the older ones. A lot of the local sports team's professional players from the Steelers and Penguins like James Harrison, Antonio Brown, Kris Letang, and Pascal Dupuis and others work out here too, so that speaks for itself. As do the gym's photos. Anybody complaining in reviews here is just laughable when you consider how many pros chose it and look at the photos yourself. They obviously must have some other issue, it seems like they're probably from less affluent other parts of the area and don't understand what a club facility actually is (and perhaps can't truly afford it). This is a racket and aquatics CLUB not a freakin' barbell warehouse. The club style is exactly what you pay for. Why would even join a racket club just for a gym in the first place? (Because you wanted to just to be able to claim you "go to Oxford"? Yeah, ya did.) That cost/benefit ratio was never going to workout, if you don't play racket sports. It's not Oxford's fault you joined a tennis club thinking it was Planet Fitness.

Stephanie best bartender in Wexford! Makes sure you are taken care of and great personality and love the atmosphere. Previously when the restaurant/bar opened it was lackluster at best. Good work on the improvement. Let's see what summer 2020 can be!

Great facility, requires membership but it is worth the expense. Locker room are well maintained. There's enough equipment to handle the morning rush. The pro shop is well maintained. It is open at 0445 in the morning and well staffed. The staff is courteous and helpful but not intrusive. The clientele are mostly professionals in the morning but I don't see it being set up for power lifters.

This facility offers many classes and amenities. There is basketball, tennis, swimming and many other activities for everyone. They have many events for families to enjoy. The Terrace Restaurant offers many seasonal dishes for a wonderful dining experience. They have live entertainment on Fridays, date nights, taco Tuesdyas and other delectable offerings. The cafe side also hosts sandwiches, Starbucks coffee and a list of smoothies to choose from.

All I can really review is their pool, because I do not use the gym or other services they have. I have just gone to the pool all summer, by using a family members membership. So what I love about this pool that stands out to me, is the fact that the baby pools water is always warm! I have gone to other pools where the water was so cold, that my 1yr old daughter wouldn't even go in! There are always plenty of babies for her to play with, as well as plenty of older kids for my 10yr old to play with! And if my daughter is ready to take a break from swimming, there are plenty of umbrellas to catch a nap in the shade under. The lifeguards are really nice too, and there's one in particular (Don't remember his name😒,) who always plays with my daughters pool toys with her. Again though; This is just a rating on the pool, not the gym or other activities Oxford offers.

The recent emphasis on the customer experience is very obvious. They are focusing on making you feel at home when you sweat and when you dine. The facility has improved to meet the times, and albeit there are still some relic features of the club, the mission is to modernize and accommodate. We have enjoyed the club and wish that experience for all the prospective members.

Great place good work out. Locker rooms a little dirty. Towels on the floor. After their remodel and update I was told rates not going up. They increased the rates by calling it a surcharge on top of hope regular rate. It is still and increase
