The hot tub will give you a very bad rash. The chemicals they use are very dangerous. But the pool is ok. Do not go into the hot tub! I especially don't think women should go in there. Other than that it's a good gym.

The gym is one of the best in York. Equipment is well maintained and generally have an appropriate variety. The staff has been friendly and always greet people as they arrive and leave. The facilities are generally clean. Often see staff actively vacuuming or wiping down machines. Very nice.

A minor nit-pick. Locker rooms are poorly marked. They don't make it clear that the hallway with M at the front is men's, as it can also be a hallway to the pool and does not look like locker room access. Women can walk the hallway and it passes by a clear view to the men's locker-room. Please Put a sign up saying <-Women Men-> So the ladies know to head around the corner and not go down that hall. There is no sign for the pool so people just head down the hall since that is the general direction of the pool.

I have been going here for almost one year. Great amenities. I love the equipment and the staff are nice. I love that they have a pool hot tub and sauna. The facility is somewhat clean. But the vents need cleaned as that makes me sick all the dust. I hope they can get someone to clean them for all of us who are allergic to dusty vents.

Love this gym but my only complaint (and this has happened on more than one occasion) is when the lady who takes the morning shifts decides to take off (which she should be more than able to do) the gym will not open at all at 5am on the week days. Those are your store hours right? So now you have a whole crew of people upset that they can’t work out first thing in the morning and it delays their day. Please do better. Or hire more staff.

I like PA Fitness in general; it reminds me a lot of the gym I go to when I go visit my parents (out of state); which has a turf area, spin classes, a lot of equipment to choose from, movie theater cardio room, and a smoothie bar. When I go home to visit them, I always go to that gym and stop by the smoothie bar immediately after.

When I was being sold on the elite membership, I was told that I would have access to the location at the York Galleria mall, which is the only one with a smoothie bar. I go on their website, and it says they have a smoothie bar. Great, so I sign up. Now after a month or so with my membership, I finally stop by to this location expecting it to have a smoothie bar. And nope, it does not. I went to the front desk and asked the guy there about it and he says that they haven’t had a smoothie bar in over a year! It’s been gone more than a year and they still have it posted on their website (as of 1:44pm today when I took a screenshot of it to make sure I wasn’t mistaken) and they are still telling people that they have it when they sign up for memberships. I just feel so much distrust for them right now because I basically have been lied to in order to sell me a membership.

They were knocked down another star because for someone coming from a different location, their women’s locker room is not entirely intuitive to find. I first saw the men’s locker room, kept walking through the gym looked around the same side of the gym as the men’s locker room and saw the pool. Wasn’t sure if I went too far, so I had to ask someone who was in the middle of his work out (super nice guy, feel bad for interrupting his workout) because there was no one at the desk at that time. It’s right next to the pool, but sort of tucked back in the corner. You won’t see anything that actually says “women’s locker room” until you go all the way to over by windows at the pool (which is basically at the complete other end of the gym from where you walk in at) to see anything that says it’s the locker room.

Overall, I like the equipment they have, like the saunas and red light therapy; but I really hate that I was lied to. I am still going to go because I paid for a year, but now I’m on the fence on whether or not I’m going to pay for another year after this one ends.

They make it impossible to cancel, you have to physically go in to be able to cancel. I emailed to cancel, my debit card expired and I didn’t update the payment info because I emailed them to cancel. I heard back and they said that they forwarded
it to the proper people and that I’ll be hearing back. I didn’t get anything till months later and they were still charging. They sent an inaccurate amount to collections.

I was a member for 5 years, paid the whole time during Covid when no one was using the gym due to no one following per cautions.

I’ll take the hit on my credit report, because I know all of these bad reviews will add up and this gym will go belly up.

I initially called due to charges on my credit card that I didn't agree to in my contract. The manager stated that it was due to the monthly charge not going through the day before and that the company treats it like a bounced check. Xtra ($20) What? It's 2024. Other companies just cancel your membership or receive payment when it finally goes through. I asked him to cancel my membership cause most of the time their "Elite" ($34.00) product you pay for is out of service. He took it personal and started to talk over my voice until he hung the phone up on me. I made a drive out of my way to the gym to see this guy in person after that to ask if he canceled my membership cause he felt the need to hang the call up before finishing the conversation. Proceeds to tell me he hung up cause he's quitting in two days and doesn't care anymore about the job.
I'm ok with dealing with a different type professionalism so I'll take my money elsewhere.

Was in the area for the day while partner was working an event and wanted to get a good workout. Looking in the area for a gym with good equipment and clean, this gym came up in search results. I decided to try out this gym as its attached to the mall and could hangout there as well to spend time. Gym was very nice overall from my experience and want to thank Javier for taking the time to show me around. Javier understood I was only in the area for the day, but still took the time to show me around and all the gym has to offer. Equipment was good (lots of options), gym wasn't too crowed going around 10am, locker room was clean, sauna was nice, and showers were nice as well to use at end of session. I didn't get to try pool or jacuzzi, but they have that as well. Also liked this gym has a cardio cinema. If you do visit, you can not get in the gym from the mall, you have to go through the direct entrance which was opposite side of the food court.

I joined this club on march 27th . I really enjoyed it because of the pool . I have used my membership to lap swim 3-4 days a week . Unfortunately they have rented out there pool for the hours from 4pm-8pm for a swim club . I don’t particularly care for the gym itself . It frustrates me it is not ok it’s not okay to have someone pay $10 additional a month for something they can not use. It is also a pain to cancel and the contract says I have to pay for 30 more days. I sometimes have a flexible schedule but not enough to swim at 10 am . I don’t really need a membership to this gym . This gym initially showed promising dedication through persistent outreach for a trial training session, creating a great impression for my mom and me. Despite my mom's willingness to commit to a year-long training contract, the trainer she resonated with suddenly became inaccessible, citing organizational issues. This lack of communication left her feeling misled, as she ended up working with a different trainer without clarity or explanation regarding the sudden change.

During my own visit to the gym, the environment was disrupted by an employee who seemed unaware of boundaries. While I was on the treadmill, their continuous vacuuming nearby made for an uncomfortable and distracting workout experience.

The inconsistent communication and intrusive environment detracted from what could have been a more positive and fulfilling fitness journey.

I hate the gym. I hate working out. For a gym phobe like me this is more tolerable than others. I work out in the movie room. It's my motivation to do something since i get to watch a movie which is something i do enjoy.

Week 3 and I've been coming 3-4 times a week. Having the massage chairs is my reward and more motivation.

I know, i know, i should just be focused on getting healthy and feeling better. Nope that is not how i work. I need external motivation. Movies and massages is how i get through it.

Never sign up for a gym with possibility that you might get sick or have any kind of problems with coming in. I started a membership in the end of July. But I got a sinus infection and was unable to attend it for the whole month. When I reached out and explained the situation and tried to cancel it in the beginning of September bc I wad not getting any better. They told me that they have to charge me for the second month and an annual fee and I will never get a refund for a first month either. So it makes it 100$ for 1,5 month and I never stepped a foot into that gym. Manager was awfully rude and just to reach them out I have to call 15 times waiting for someone to pick up. I am completely disappointed and not have to pay for service that was never provided. And I was threatened that they will put my file in collection agency if I don’t pay….

The equipment is very close to other equipment. And the staff at Galleria mall are very self centered unless you're paying for training lessons otherwise they are stuck up arrogant people, not very personable. I would definitely look around before committing to this gym.

I was one of the first members at Golds Gym, actively attending this gym with my entire family. When Covid-19 hit us hard in March 2020 , forced us all to quarantine. My account was being charged during the pandemic, I noticed and called Golds gym to cancel my membership due no kids club and lack of hours of operation , I spoke with management as well made a stopped payment with my bank. My account went to collections (Gym failed to do their job) and I so kindly had the charges removed. During this time Golds was transitioning to Pa Fitness and majority if not all familiar employees was no longer there. However my husband remained a member and Pa fitness later opened their kids club.
Today I chose to go with him to this Gym and to my SURPRISE my account never was closed out within this transitioning.
I began to explain to Adam , he dismissed everything I was explaining with rude customer service or any care at all.
He begin to tell me I’m unable to come in as a guest with my husband due to this issue. The issue here is Adam rude demeanor and lack of care for my situation and h ow long my family been a member of this now struggling gym.
He never once asked if there was anyway he can help this situation or even try to help. I do not recommend this gym , kids club hours are always changing and the employees / management could care less about their members or possible prospects.

Enjoy the facility and use it almost daily. My only issue is that the trainers will rush around and hijack equipment you are using without asking. This is most evident with cable attachments. I have had them walk up between sets and take the attachment I was using on multiple occasions. She was amazing! very thorough, understanding and made me feel comfortable as I am trying to get back in the game of being in shape after a long break. A wide variety of group classes and equipment. I have liked every instructor I have had there. My husband is impressed with the equipment they have. The pool may be small but it's still long enough and serviceable. I like the other services they off too like the kids club, cardio cinema, and smoothies. They aren't quite as cleanliness oriented as my last gym, but they aren't dirty. Also they had some temperature/humidity problems this summer but they are working on them since they are fairly new to the location. Happy I switched here.

I signed up at this gym today after taking a tour with the manager, Melissa Faust. She was so informative and had a great personality. I’m extremely impressed so far. I’ve toured at 3 different gyms before this one and compared all the pros/cons for each. I have 4 kids so adequate child care, a safe child care room and cleanliness was a MUST. They hit the mark for all my expectations. Child care is included in my membership. Which is only $39.95 a month. They have a cinema room where they play movies and dim the lights to workout in. Fitness classes. A pool and hot tub. Sauna. And I get to go to all of their locations which was big for me. You get a free fitness assessment and 1 hour session with a personal trainer, my appointment is for tomorrow. Other gyms I toured either had no childcare, were dirty, machines were old and broken, were over crowded and a few other undesirables. I’d like to make it clear, after reading another review, that I was made well aware that I was signing myself up for a 12 month membership. The same amount of money will come out of my bank account monthly for the next 12 months and then it will switch to a month to month basis. This was explained thoroughly and I even had to initial and sign my membership forms. So for someone to be angry and say you cannot cancel and they drain your account is ridiculous. You know what you are signing up for. I hope as I continue to use this gym, that my perception of it doesn’t change. I am extremely pleased thus far. If you are looking into a membership, all you have to do is ask for a free temporary pass and they will gladly give you one! If you decide to get a membership, please mention my name, as I will get perks for a referral! :-)
