I started coming here after I moved because the drive to my old gym was becoming a hassle. Honestly, this place is just as good — maybe even better. They’ve got all the same machines (plus a few extras), and everything actually works. Never seen anything out of order or squeaking, and they always have clips around, which is a nice change.

My favorite part is how clean it stays. Instead of those tiny wipe stations that nobody uses and there’s only a couple of, they have spray bottles and microfiber towels literally everywhere — within like 10 steps no matter where you are. Makes it way easier to keep things clean.

The staff definitely earns their pay too. There’s always someone wiping windows, picking stuff up, or keeping the bathrooms clean.

Overall, 5 stars easy. Only thing missing is a sauna — if they add that, it’s game over.

I love this gym, I’ve been going since it opened and it’s a better option than planet fitness! My only complaint is the dumbbell racks. Could someone on staff organize them back to the original display and could keep up with it? It’s been nice to see the gym grow and expand with new members but people have become careless with where they place the weights and it’s become very hard to find every size on both sides of the gym.

Really love this gym. They have more than expected. Turf is great. Plenty of machines. Two sections of dumbbells and power racks. And for 10/11 a month. People are just being picky atp. Go to LA fitness if you don’t like it 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽

I’ve had a great experience coming to this gym. The staff have been kind and helpful. Spacious with a good variety of equipment. Joseph maintains all the equipment and keeps the gym very clean. He even cleans the walls and the windows!

New gym, it's a huge space and clean. Staff is OK. The only problem I had is that when I started I paid for the 24.99 a month plan and I needed to downgrade to the 10.00 a month plan because I couldn't attend as much because of my job and I was told that if I downgraded it would be a fee but there is nowhere in writing that says this! So beware, if you want to change your plan they charge.

Absolutely the best gym!
I previously worked in the industry for many years and I can see how much effort they put in to make sure their members have an incredible experience. Everything is top of the line and they keep the place so so clean. The community at the gym feels really kind and neighborly- even the super strong guys aren’t here throwing down weights and loudly grunting. It’s just a great vibe!

It’s clear the owners of this location don’t have a strong understanding of the community they serve. The decisions being made, like installing a tanning bed in a predominantly African American neighborhood, shows a surprising lack of connection and cultural awareness. It feels like there’s little effort to actually engage with or meet the real needs of the local demographic, which is disappointing.

So I used to rate this place a 5. But had to come back remove it after the lies and deception. This place stated that it’s no commitment when wanting to cancel
A membership. How do you force someone into another 30 days when they want to cancel. Especially if the person hasn’t been using their membership like that. I haven’t used it not one time in May and even April really. Got charge in May. Canceled it in May and was told I have to stay a member for another 30 days. That is BS. Now y’all forcing me to pay for something I no longer want as well as forcing me to come just so that I won’t feel like I’m being cheated out of my money.

I'm going to give a comprehensive review of this gym. The positives are the big open space, large turf area, friendly staff and cleanliness. You don't have to worry about dirty bathrooms or dumbbells being scattered throughout the gym. Additionally, they have some nice and rare hip/glute plate-loaded machines made by GluteBuilder. All types of Precor machines, 4 platforms with squat racks, a bunch of multi-cable units, and tons of cardio equipment. Phenomenal gym for the average gym goer.

The downsides are mainly going to be for the hardcore lifters. The DBs only go up to 85lb. I hear even Planet Fitness goes up to 90s. It is a must that they improve this and have them go up to 100lb minimally or up to 130lb preferred. The gym is outfitted by PRECOR which is a decent brand for machines but terrible for benches. The benches for bench press are way too thin and too low to the ground putting you at a disadvantage biomechanically. You'll notice the difference when you go to other gyms with standard width benches. If they get heavier DBs and better benches it will be a 5 Star gym.

I love this gym. It's just welcoming enough to be approachable. It's well staffed and equipped. There is also a good crowd of different kinds of people depending on the time of day you get there. All ability levels can be seen and everyone looks comfortable. If you get the premium membership you can visit all of the locations and you can bring a partner every visit and enjoy free coffee and amenities.

Cleanest gym I’ve ever been to.. and it’s not just cause it’s new. Their employee Joe cleans the place spotless. Never seen someone clean the actual running belt on a treadmill before and I’ve been a daily gym goer for 10 years. Also they have modern equipment and the layout is perfect so that it’s a good amount of machines but they’re not all pushed together and crowded.

Great gym, super clean, super affordable. Convenient location. There is a great diversity of machines and equipment in the gym. A good turf area for non machine exercises and by far the most free weights I ever seen at any gym. One thing I don't enjoy is the cleaning stations where everyone is made to use micro fiber towels, there is one at each station. They change them often enough, but every now and then the rag is soaked which makes for a horrific sensory experience. I'm sure this is cutting back on a lot of paper waste which is honorable, but I still get the ick now and then. Otherwise this is a great gym.

The person behind the desk took a few steps, pointed at the machines and said, “All machines have QR codes. It’s pretty self explanatory”. Not a great first impression.

This gym is full of all of the equipment and space that I could want for exercise and getting healthy. In particular, I come monday through friday, and this place is maintained immaculately by Julie. You can really see how she keeps everything stocked, wiped down
and equipment returned when necessary.

Good evening Google Family. This was my first time visiting Philly Fitness. This new gym has been open since New Year's Eve. So close and near where the old Shop Rite was. There is also a Family dollar and a Dollar Tree here. I was introduced to the place by employee, Jared, who was simply a Doll!! So informative, and so efficient. Jared took the time to explain to me all of the equipment, as we were walking around the gym, pointed out the amenities and just provided an all round great scenic tour. I appreciate the time that Jared took me to show me everything. This gym is literally walking distance from my house. I have never patronized a gym that is so close to my home. I am a member of Edge Fitness Club, however it would be so tempting to come here to work out. I love that everything is on one floor. I toured the ladies' bathrooms, locker rooms and showers. Everything is so neat and clean. I would definitely like to come back again to visit. Good night Google Family and don't forget to get Fit and Fabulous!!!

Philly Fit In Overbrook:

The gym is big, clean and well lit. Staff are very friendly and welcoming to everyone. They have a lot of machines and equipment to do any type of work out you desire.

A few things that I observed while being there were the cleaning stations which, are around but. you have search for them and there are no signs reminding people to clean off the equipment when finished. I know you are trying to cut cost but using the same microfiber cloth as someone else is not good especially with colds, viruses and covid still around.

The televisions should have different programs on them not just sports or news. Yes you do come to workout but being on the bikes, treadmills, elliptical, etc.it helps pass the time until you move onto something else.

I recommend staff have knowledge of each machine to give examples of what they do when asked by people who may be making a decision to join.

These are just my observations and thoughts. I hope you take in consideration. Keep up the good work.

I absolutely love this gym, so far! The staff is fantastic, and the space is perfect for my workout routine. I appreciate having the freedom to lift weights in my own area and then seamlessly transition to my cardio. The convenient location and operating hours make it even better!

While I commend the gym's cleanliness, I've noticed a concern regarding sanitation practices. It's a bit unsettling to see employees cleaning with gloves while using the same spray station that members are expected to use without gloves. I’ve started bringing my own disposable disinfectant wipes because I realize that the cloths provided may be contaminated after being used by others, and I'm using them with bare hands. It would be a great improvement if you could offer paper towels or disinfectant wipes for members to use.
