About the Club

Pittsburgh Kettlebell & Performance has an abundance of all sorts of training equipment. This does not involve Cross-Trainers, Stairmasters or Rubber Coated Dumbbells that weigh less than your kit bag. We do however use anything that you can lift, hit and/or throw to build a body & mind that is as strong & powerful as it looks. Whether it's Russian Kettlebells, Battle Ropes, Medicine Balls, Heavy Bags, Sand Bags, Sledgehammers, Tires, Push/Pull Sleds, among many others, Pittsburgh Kettlebell & Performance is the ultimate playground for adults with some serious toys that will make each training session interesting, challenging & fun!

Where to begin? I can't imagine my life without this gym and without the owners: Tony & Gina. I joined shortly after the passing of my mother and it gave me an outlet for my grief. I have struggled with my mental health my whole life and Kettlebell is the one place that I can channel my mania in a healthy way. The trainers are so good and helpful with form and teaching us about different techniques. The members are the kindest people I have ever met in my adult life and I have found some of my best friends at that gym. It helps my mental health, my soul and my physical health. I have a very physically demanding job and Pittsburgh Kettlebell helps me work on my endurance. It is truly my favorite place in Pittsburgh.

This gym is perfect for serious athletes as well as those who were picked last in gym class (me lol). The classes are varied enough that you're never bored, and all of the trainers are fun and positive and dedicated to pushing you to reach your goals without hurting yourself. The other students are welcoming and supportive, too. I have never looked forward to going to the gym like I do here-- I legit was missing it while on vacation. After about 6 months I feel healthier and more energetic than I ever expected. Considering how much individual attention you get, you really can't beat the value. I really appreciate their COVID precautions as well-- I would not feel as safe in a bigger gym.

I'm not the best at writing reviews but here it goes... go ahead & sign up, it's worth trying if you're debating on getting started or if you're looking for something different to challenge you, just try it! 😊
The trainers at PKP are friendly and knowledgeable - they truly care about helping you & don't leave you hanging. I attend the AM classes more often than any other so most of my time spent there is with Chloe & I've reached many goals with her encouraging and pushing me to the next level.
The classes consist of exercises that can be tailored for ANY fitness level. Everyone is welcomed there.
I recommend PKP to anyone having a desire to workout. At one point, I moved across the state and was in search of a gym like PKP and I'll tell you... there wasn't one! Try it out, you'll thank yourself. 🙂

I joined this gym to get in shape and learn some kettlebell skills and I've got that and more! I've had the pleasure of taking classes with 3 of the coaches and they have all been friendly and professional. The workouts have been tough but the coaches always have ways to adapt the work to your body type and current fitness level. The people at the gym have great as well; it's a cool community of people who are looking to put in the work! Great gym, cannot recommend it to anyone looking to get or stay fit!

I have belonged to this gym since 2012. I guess you could call me a gym rat because I have gone to various gyms all my life This is by far the best. The instructors are knowledgeable. They design unique effective total body workout routines with a variety of equipment. We use kettlebells, TRX, the prowler, and medicine balls, to name a few. You will not be bored. I have more energy and feel toned. I love the feeling of accomplishment at the end of every class. I go several times a week. Sometimes my daughter and I attend together. I am 36 years older than her and we both are challenged by the workouts.

It had been years since I'd done any sort of workout other than an occasional hike and needed to find something in the worst way. Prior to going to PKP, I'd never even heard of a kettlebell. Within just a few weeks, through great training, unique training sessions, and an incredibly supportive community, I was totally hooked. I've now been going there a year and I couldn't be happier with my results. I feel good and look forward to each new session. Even better, I can go any day of the week at just about anytime. I went looking for a new workout routine that would a). help motivate me, and b). push me harder than my regular workout at the gym. I found that here at Pittsburgh Kettlebell and Performance.

Each of the trainers create a unique and challenging workout in a smaller class setting, and they all are super helpful and supportive during class. The classes are designed for all ages, all body types, and you don’t have to be super athletic (trust me on the latter). And when needed, the trainers will help modify the routine to the individual’s fitness level. My fellow workout partners are all super friendly and motivational as well. And yes, we even have a little fun during class.

Truly, this is one of the best fitness classes I have ever taken. Kettlebell has helped me get into better shape; including building a lot more strength, than I was getting from my former workouts at the gym.

One of the things I LOVE about this place aside from the helpful trainers is the variety for skill levels... You can literally work at your own pace and every trainer has a different training style, giving you something different out of each class. PK&P is great for all levels from those just beginning to exercise to more seasoned athletes. After four years, I still find the workouts created by all of the trainers - Chappie, Kindle, Sean , Shuck, Kristi, Chris, Emily, and Mindy - to be challenging; no class is ever the same. The men and women of all ages and athletic abilities who take each class provide support and motivation for all to their best. I may still get nervous prior to going to each class, but I leave feeling ready to take on the rest of my day.

I don't think 5 stars can rate what this place means to me. Truly life changing. Recent veteran. Great place to get a killer workout in. I love the many different class times so that there is no excuse not to go. The trainers and the other clients make it feel like a family.
