I cannot say enough about Coach Ron. I have been a professional fitness coach for 30+ years (mostly group instruction), and I felt it was time to have someone personally train me. Never in a million years did I think I'd find someone as brilliant, skilled, kind, and creative as Ron. I have been training with Ron for well over 1 year now, and I can honestly say I don't believe I've ever done the same workout twice! As I've gotten to know him, I realize Ron's mind is constantly working to provide each and every client a personalized experience. I have never felt rushed, and I always struggle to walk out of the gym... his workouts are brutally challenging (which is exactly what I need). I sometimes wonder if he has a photographic memory because he remembers the smallest of details, including which music I like to listen to during the workouts. Ron reads and absorbs everything he learns, which he then shares with me (sometimes via documented-driven articles). He is an absolute sponge for all sorts of information! His knowledge on the body's anatomy and physiology is uncanny, which demonstrates his passion for training others. In addition to training me, he has provided my daughter countless tips on wrestling for her high school team. Ron is the type of person who will go out of his way to be there for you, and I am honored to call him my friend. If you are hesitating to train with Coach Ron, don't! You will not regret it.

Coach Ron is amazing!
I registered for the Pittsburgh marathon this year and wanted to train differently than I have for my previous marathons. I decided to add more strength training to my training plan. I started strength training, mainly at home with an app, about 2 years ago, so I basically taught myself through videos and reading, so I wanted to be sure my form was correct to prevent injury, also. Plus, I've been looking for a way to challenge myself and give myself a push to get better. I'm a travel nurse and was home for a month during the holidays, so I went to Ron while I was home. I was able to train with him 3-5 times a week during that time. He varied every training session, always kept things challenging, fun, and different. Ron is a wealth of information and explained each movement, so I understood what we were doing and why. I loved this because it helped me make the mind/body connection to each movement (plus it fed my brain with new knowledge). Ron focused on functional movement, the movement we do every day, and the movement I need to run a marathon (and load/unload my car for travel assignments!). I like this approach because I plan to be active my whole life! Ron taught me so much about the movements (strength and stretching), the tools (weights, bands, kettlebells, ect), and stressed how to feel the movement vs think of it (which really helps keep form and good posture) in my time with him that I feel confident creating my own workouts while I'm gone on my nursing assignment.
Another thing I love about Ron is who he is as a person. When I 1st met him, he talked about mindset, getting better every day, and his values. I realized it wasn't just talk when I started training with him. That is who he is as a person. His mindset and values are contagious. You originally go to him to train your physical self, but end up training your mental (and spiritual) self, too.
Like I said at the beginning, Coach Ron is amazing! If you're looking for a trainer, definitely give him a try, you won't be disappointed!

Ron is wonderful! As a 58 year-old woman who wants to maintain strength and flexibility, Ron has challenged, encouraged, and advanced me in this pursuit. Just as importantly to me, he is a kind and generous soul.

My 3 sessions with Ron in the early Spring were the impetus for me to re-think my exercise routine. As it is now August, I am able to state that these changes to my exercise routine have yielded positive progress towards my overall mobility goals. Get a mobility assessment!

Coach Ron is the best there is! My initial goal of training was to get my body back after babies, he did it better! He’s extremely knowledgeable about the human body. After two shoulder surgeries due to wear and tear from competitive dancing I was told a replacement was needed in my future. Coach Ron has me moving again pain free and using my arms with ease. I highly recommend Pittsburgh strength!

Everybody should give Ron a try. He is truly a game changer! I have trained with him for the last 2 years. Going in I had always considered myself somewhat of a gym rat having hit them my entire adult life. I thought I knew it and tried it all. Let’s just say I wished I had a ‘Ron’ from the start. His emphasis on proper technique, using a variety of alternatives to heavy weights, flexibility and balance training, turning weaknesses into strengths, and continuously mixing the routines ( whoever thought a walk through the neighborhood could be anything other than leisurely) up makes every visit not only new and fun but another step in the dIrection of total overall body health and a better me. I could go on and on but you cannot make a better investment in terms of your time or money!

Ron is excellent to work with. I began working with him to increase flexibility and to strengthen core muscles to help with lower pack pain. He takes the time to explain each exercise and is extremely knowledgeable in the science of training and fitness. His calm, respectful approach creates an environment for challenges and encouragement through each session.

I have tried everything for chronic low back pain, but working out with Ron is the only that has ever worked! I am as flexible and pain free as I have ever been ever in my adult life. We have worked out together for a little over a year and I can say we have not done anything close to the same workout twice. It's always new moves, pace and focus that keeps it's interesting. I learn something new every session. Highly recommend!

I worked with Ron for 3 months, and that was the best investment I have made in the recent years. My weight went down from 230 pounds to 190 pounds, and I gained sufficient muscle mass and improved my stamina.
Ron is great to work with in this journey. He keeps in touch, motivates, and helps with the diet. No two days were the same with Ron.
I highly recommend Ron and Pittsburgh Strength if you are looking to invest in yourself.

I have been training with Ron for the past 3 months and confidently say it has the best training I have ever experienced in any 1:1 or group setting. I have been an athlete for 20+ years across various sports and my body has never felt better. I’ve always had hesitations about training in a gym and therefore did my own work from home, but Ron has helped me to feel comfortable and confident from our training. He tailored a plan to help me reach my goals and explained the meaning behind every movement and their translation to my sport. He goes above and beyond expectations in many ways and I look forward to continuing my training with him for a long time to come. I would recommend him to any athlete or anyone just looking to improve their feeling/function. Reach out to Ron and give it a try!

If you’re looking for inspiration to help transform your mind, body and spirit, Coach Ron at Pittsburgh Strength is THE guy!
He is a truly unique trainer – passionate, knowledgeable and very creative. He specializes in functional movement with seemingly limitless combinations of body weight, plyo, resistance, HIIT, circuit, Tabata, super sets and drop sets that are absolutely always challenging and (usually) fun!
The sessions are tailored to achieve YOUR fitness goals and he will adapt them as you meet your milestones to keep you always reaching for the next level.
I always viewed a personal trainer as an unnecessary luxury but over the past year I have realized that training with Coach is actually a vital investment in my physical and mental well-being. I am challenged every day with the movements, angles, resistance and time under tension, and while it has no doubt made me stronger physically, the mental aspect has been invaluable.
Ron is a perfect combination of athletic coach, pushing you to your physical limits, and Zen master!
His enthusiasm for hard work and a positive mindset is inspiring and I always feel energized after a session.
For people new to physical training ensuring you have proper form while learning how to “do the mental reps” is a surefire combination for success - I cannot recommend Coach Ron enough!
There is never a better time to start your journey than now and, as he likes to say, “get 1% better every day.”

Coach Ron is awesome! I highly recommend personal training with him.
I began with 2 sessions a week, but I quickly saw the progress I was aiming for and decided to increase it to 3 times a week. Now I am 9 months in and couldn’t imagine my week without it.
Ron has a gift for getting the most out of you. He will design a challenging circuit/routine and after he demonstrates it, I’m sure I will just be able to get through it once and before I know it I’ve completed the 3rd set. This is really where you get value for money and see progress, I could go to the gym and complete exercises he has taught me but I wouldn’t get close to the output I manage to get with his guidance.
His knowledge also means he has so many exercise variations, so you are never bored. His passion for health and wellness is infectious, I find I am far more conscious of what I chose to consume as a by product as well. I have lots more energy and sleep excellently, I attribute both to the exercise program.

Ron is extremely knowledgeable in how to tone, strengthen, and build ones’ body. He tailors everyone’s session to fit what their personal goals are and doesn’t provide a cookie cutter workout. I’ve been training with him for a year now and have never had two workouts that are identical. Even now that I’m pregnant he made sure to do research on the best way to tailor my sessions. If you have real goals, want to see results in a timely manner, and are mentally fit to push yourself, Ron is the trainer for you. Can’t recommend him enough, five stars across the board.
