I am a member of this Planet Fitness and the Anytime Fitness down the road. I strongly recommend the Anytime Fitness.

1. First and foremost, the staff at this Planet Fitness are amazing. They are always nice and helpful. Thank you!

2. This Planet Fitness allows its members to sit on the equipment while watching videos. Literally, I have had to wait for 15 minutes while somebody does a single set before I can get on the equipment because they are busy texting or watching videos.

3. This Planet Fitness also allows its members to take three or four different sets of weights and “reserve” them for multiple sets, preventing other people from using them. Again, you can often wait 20 minutes for a set of 20 or 25 pound Dumbbells because somebody is stacking them up and not allowing others to use them.

4. This Planet Fitness does not enforce It’s 30-minute-workout area. If you want to do multiple sets on multiple pieces of equipment, you’re not able to do it in the 30 minute workout area because too many people sit on the equipment and do not move from exercise to exercise.

The Anytime Fitness 2 miles down the road has a published policy on these items and it works.

Ardmore does not open until 7am on Sat/Sun these days. There are currently 4 people including myself waiting outside the gym at 6.30. One of the main differentiators was early am accessibility. Went from 24 hours to more limited hours after the pandemic. Understandably. But this takes it a bit too far. Bad decision as you will loose some loyal customers. Super unhappy.

location itself is so nice & clean but every single time i go in there, there’s constantly a bunch of teenagers in groups standing around, but today i went and i’m on a machine next to them & they were jumping and dancing around it was so distracting and annoying. i normally don’t normally even let things bother me but it was highly annoying to the people who come in there to work out and follow the rules, it was in the 30 minute work out also.

Highly recommend you think carefully about when you come here or else you’ll be inundated with children acting immaturely.

(Matter of fact the majority of the TV's had nothing but fox and some other news networks)
Also I think you can change the channel yourself.
I know I go to the gym to get in a good workout, forget the troubles of the world, decompress and let go. That person is uptight and honestly there's entirely too much news on these days. Put some good positive music in your ears. Kinda wish they didn't have TVs at all or just music videos. I will say one last thing, reception isn't always good for a variety of reasons, I noticed much interference with a few channels that were on.. it happens.

This was my go to spot bc I am an early riser and have busy weekends & I liked that they opened at 6am on the weekends (vs 7am at the Broomall location). For some reason, they changed their hours to opening at 7am on the weekends. This is not only inconvenient but just a few weeks ago, I arrived at 6:50am and waited outside with other gym goers waiting for an employee to show up to open up the gym. I ended up leaving at 7:15am because no one had showed up for their shift.

If you want a gym with truly flexible hours, there is Anytime Fitness in Villanova, Lifetime in Ardmore, and Planet Fitness in Conshohocken. Hopefully they reconsider their hours and go back to 6am weekend openings (24hrs would be the best though)

I just transferred to this location and had a very disappointing experience. During my workout, a worker came up to me, insisting I put my bag in a locker in the locker room, even though it wasn't obstructing anyone, and was tucked tightly against the machine in front of me. I didn't have a lock, so I bought one from the front desk because I respect the policy.

However, after purchasing, the staff was very unhelpful as I was confused with the set up of the lock. They looked noticeably annoyed and bored at the thought of assisting me. My lock ended up malfunctioning to where it wouldn’t close. Once 5 workers tackled it and got it to lock, they could not unlock it with the code I gave them. After struggling with it for 30 minutes, I finally got my money back but was unable to work out. My previous Planet Fitness location never had issues with my gym bag, and I wish the staff here had shown a bit more empathy, friendliness, and flexibility.

I was given no helpful options besides leaving my belongings in the lockers up front without a lock. They immediately shut down the idea of me asking if I could leave my bag with them up front at the desk while I at least try to get 10 minutes of a workout in.The workers did not seem to care that I had concern with my belongings being taken. I would never want to be the reason someone trips over a bag, but the fact that at every other planet fitness I’ve been to this hasn’t been an issue, raises questions to me about the management here. Not sure why I couldn’t have just been given a notice this time to come with a lock for my next workout.

I was out for a while due to personal reasons. When I went back to Planet Fitness Monday August 19th around 2:00pm. I forgot my water bottle and was very thirsty, so I went to go get an energy drink, as I was standing there for a minute to decide what flavor I wanted. I then walked to the desk to pay for it. The short lady with brown straight hair told me their system was down and that I cannot pay for it. She had the most unhappiest face that I’ve ever seen in a customer service type job. It made me feel very uncomfortable as I asked when do you think your system will be up? She could have said something before I came to her desk to pay for it, she was right there looking at me trying to decide what flavor I wanted. Her face and how she was talking to me was like she hated working there. I asked about the nice guy that used to be there. She said he is in a meeting. She should be in a meeting with her attitude that she is displaying at the Planet fitness. Whoever hire her I questioned their professionalism.

Good club, but BAD management!
I came today at the evening from 5-7pm and the club was very dirty! Empty paper boxes, dirty mirrors, dirty hand washing zone. I asked the manager to refill the paper box, but she did it in 20 minutes. ASSISTED CHIN DIP MACHINE has already been broken for 2 weeks! I asked the manager why it’s broken and what’s the problem with it, she replied that she has no clue and it has been broken for two weeks bcs they have only one maintenance and it’s usually takes so long.

The vibe in this gym is excellent. The staff do an amazing job of keeping the place clean and their clientele engaged. The majority of the staff are all bodybuilders and athletes of exceptional caliber which lends itself in creating an atmosphere of gleeful total immersion into the world of sports.

The lighting is superb. The ventilation is excellent. And the majority of gym goers are regular customers, for good reason.

We could use a little bit of help with heavy building maintenance as the showers are icy cold 50% of the time. One of the urinals has been out of commission for quite a while now, and a very small percentage of the equipment is struggling in terms of maintenance.

A nice addition, would be to add some proper suction ventilation above the men’s toilets as currently the directional flow of the odors can be intense and tends to carry into the locker room on an hourly occurrence.

All said, This is by far my all-time favorite planet fitness, and I’d go out of my way to be here, should I ever need to choose between locations.

One of the receptionists is always being very rude to customers unlike others who are very friendly and positive. A little smile never hurt nobody.
That girl is not welcoming to us.
Always asking me to scan a guest pass even though I go there every day, apart from my husband who scans his black card.
She would always try to make all the visits as unpleasant and complicated as possible!
Once my husband let me use the chair instead of him because I was having a bad pain in my back and she just turned it down immediately when she saw I was using it.
Well, are we forgetting about humanity?
Then she would not turn the massage chair back for my husband even though he is a black card member just because she prefers to neglect the customers and to be rude.
I have been to many planet fitness clubs around states and that has never happened.

PF Ardmore is exactly what I need in a gym - clean, with (newly-replaced!) functional equipment and friendly staff. I cannot overstate how nice it is to work out in a place where the vibe is so supportive and anti-judgement. You can't beat this value.
PS - when I first joined, I filled out a "how are we doing" survey and said that the only thing missing were true spinning bikes - I'm pretty tall, and I've found that the only bikes that fit me are spinning bikes with multiple adjustment levers. During there latest equipment update, the staff added not one but FIVE of these bikes! Thank you for listening to member input!

I wanted to like this gym, but it's the worst of the Planet Fitness I've been to. The most significant issues I have are the employees' cleanliness and lack of professionalism. On my one visit, three employees behind the front desk were chatting away and not acknowledging any of the members.

I noticed one of the trainers "helping" clean the men's room but spent more time on his phone than actually doing any cleaning. When he was on the floor he was still on his phone with his Airpods in. Anytime he would help a member he still had them in.

The only time the staff cared about the gym was when the manager came back in.

It was 12/10/2022. The gym is nice and the equiptment works really well. My only complaint is checking in. I was a guest that someone brought for one day. The two people checking me in made me feel uncomfortable. I filled out the sign in as instructed but then when looking at my info, that's when they made me feel insecure and unwelcome. The tone in which they asked my name made me feel bad about myself. They seemed annoyed that i was standing there checking in. I gave them my perferred name but they gave me a dirty look. I'm not sure if it's part of the process of checking in as a one time guest, they took a picture of me. The whole thing made me feel like i was in the wrong for being there.
