I travel all over the country for work and have been to a lot of PF’s and the Butler Planet Fitness is by far the biggest and best one I’ve been to .
Cecelia and her staff go above and beyond to make sure it’s the cleanest, safest and most efficient gym within their capabilities. All the free weights are organized and the machines are maintained on a regular basis. I highly recommend the Butler Planet Fitness for anyone, whether it’s your first day walking into a gym or you’re a gym rat training hard there most definitely is a place for you here.

I joined Planet at this location and it is my "main" gym, but since becoming a member I have checked in to several other PFs across the state, and I can say with confidence this is the cleanest, best setup, and most welcoming gym among the bunch. I look forward to workouts here- there is plenty of space, and a good mixed crowd of casual cardio folks and serious lifters. 10/10

This gym used to be very clean and taken care of. The staff took care of you immediately in a timely manner. Now you have at any given moment 3-5 staff members standing behind the counter on their phones, talking to eachother, really getting paid to just stand around and socialize with eachother. If they would do their actual job and maintain the equipment, the floors, spa beds, instead of making customers sit and wait 45 mins for a tanning bed when no one has walked in or out of that bed the whole time. Get your customers in and out instead of making us sit and wait because your too damn busy on your phones or talking about your private life. Maybe you should be out acknowledging the customers sitting and waiting for services, cleaning machines, floors, tanning beds, spa beds etc. when you get into a tanning bed and you see the dirt around the air vents that can easily be cleaned, and sweat marks on machines that's gross and a potentially an infection control issue. The staff that was there a year ago was better then these kids that do not understand work ethic. Maybe upper management should be around more often and direct their staff, I'm sure there are health regulations that have to be abided by, and they are clearly not. Hire someone who actually wants to work not stand there and play on their phones or stand behind the counter and not even say hello to the people walking in. Give some lessons on customer service and efficiency.

If I could give this gym no stars I would. I’m not sure if it’s because they hired a bunch of new young kids but I got the hybrid bed (1) to tan in and immediately I walked in the room and felt off. Got in the bed and it felt even worse I then move my leg and I felt dried sweat from someone else. My skin was crawling and I wanted to throw up. Highly disappointed as this was the closest gym to me. I won’t be back! Gibsonia is hopefully better or Cranberry. They are both a lot farther of a drive for me then the butler gym which is a shame and another thing PLEASE BE OPEN ON FRIDAYs and the WEEKEND 24/7. Those are literally the days most people can go anytime.

Update I am at the gym and thought well I just won’t use their tanning I’ll just do stand up bed.haven’t used that yet.

To begin with, I am not a member, nor will I ever be one given their current billing model.

In order to join, I would be required to give Planet Fitness my bank and checking account routing number so they can automatically withdraw my fees and dues using electronic fund transfer (EFT). The corporate website's FAQ resorts to gaslighting by explaining this as a convenience provided to their customers. REALLY?!? I can think of nothing more INCONVENIENT than being forced to hand over my checking information just to be able to join a gym. Unlike paying with a credit card, there is limited (generally, think no) consumer protection once the money is withdrawn from my account. I can't, in good conscience, add my name and checking account information to a (potentially hackable) data base somewhere in the cloud just to join a gym, no matter how much I'd like to join. I had taken the tour of the Butler, PA location and absolutely LOVED it! It was clean, lots of equipment, friendly staff, open 24/7 (an unexpected bonus)-exactly what I was looking for.In a gym.

Bottom line, if you're looking for a great gym and have no reservations over being REQUIRED to provide your checking account information, I think the Butler, PA location would be a great choice. Unfortunately, I can't. I give them one star strictly based on their inability to accept a willing, paying customer who doesn't want to pay by EFT

The space is clean, large, and well appointed with machine. However, you don't necessarily feel as welcome and safe as they say you should. Especially allowing the shirt like the one below. That is clearly pointed, and all his boomer friends were laughing and putting him on the back about it. Uncool. At least ask that he never wears it again. If I could put zeros stars I would. I had questions regarding why my account was charges for something that I was never informed would happen. Be very very careful when signing up for a membership bc they do not tell u everything and persuade you into doing something that your not completely informed about. Then when I called to try to get the problem resolved I got a male assistant manager Braxton I believe his name was and got a very rude attitude and was chastised the whole phone call. He was so very unpleasant and unprofessional. I asked for a number for their corporate office or a customer service number and he refused to give it to me. After a 15 min phone call my issue was left unresolved and feeling very unwelcomed at this gym. I have never come in contact w such a rude manager in my life. I hope your experience was better then mine.

I recently purchased a gym membership and so far it's been great. Now with the $24.99 membership you get everything that the gym has to offer..exercising ..spa.. messaging chairs..1/2 off on bottle drinks are to name a few oh and you can bring a guest with that membership. Now with the $10 membership you only get to use the exercising equipment and few things. I would recommend paying the extra $$ and get the better membership it's worth it.

I like Planet Fitness. I'm a little disappointed with the upper management of the region. Planet fitness isn't 24/7 anymore. It's 24/5 they close at 9 o'clock Friday night and at 7 o'clock Saturday and Sunday night. Then open up at 12:00 am Monday so they close for 5 hours on Sunday. Sometimes people have plans during the day and they have to change their whole day if they want to make it to the gym to get their workout in. They were open all through COVID-19. I just don't understand 😕😪🤦

My husband and I had our business with them for years. We canceled 3 days after their yearly fee because we couldn't afford it due to loss of income. We asked to have the yearly fee refunded because we needed that money only to be told the yearly fee was non refundable. I've been a member since 2015. I have never had a bad experience here. Staff is always super nice and they keep the place sparkling clean (even before Covid) Even the other members are super nice, which makes for a good workout environment.

There are several rooms with multiples of many machines. I don't often have to wait for machines even when it's busy. Of course it's not that busy anymore because of Covid.

I have the black card and this is the cheapest gym membership I've ever had (in 30 years!) and I can go anywhere in the country....Plus massage beds are included!

Even if you don't think you'll use it a lot, get the black card...especially if you travel or even just go outside the area a lot. I go to the Cranberry and Allison Park locations occasionally and they are both really nice also.
