Great place to work out. Friendly, knowledgeable People, clean all the time but after their remake two rowing machines happen to be in an unsafe place for a trip and fall incident (lawsuit). Rowing machines should be either moved to a safe place or taken to the Mon River so they can practice. Overall the place is great and a shout out to Jesse.,Great employee.

This is my local PF and everything usually runs smoothly until last week. I’ve been taking my 2 daughters with me during the summer to start up our fitness goals and normally we had no problems enjoying ourselves. Last week or so we went in and there must of been a staff training happening because many PF staff were at the check in. I checked in my daughters and then myself. I felt the assistant mgr decided he would use us as an example 🙄 so we had to take pictures, which we did no problem. He explained I can only bring one guest and I advised my other daughter is on her father’s membership. He gave us the okay for that day.

So we go work out in our usual spot and here he comes on our heels. We just keep doing our workouts which we’ve been doing the past 5 visits, while he stood there and pretends to train. I was grabbing two weights to assist my daughter and sat down my water bottle. The moment I walked away, As he leaves, he throws away my water bottle!?

Truly it was just weird and embarrassing for me and my girls. I’m a 41 year old professional woman and I acted as such. They made us feel very uncomfortable, We WONT BE BACK.

This is the smallest planet fitness I’ve ever been to, and unfortunately it’s the only one near my house. It’s hard to even secure a treadmill between 6-7pm and quite literally impossible to use one of the three stair master machines. The staff doesn’t enforce the time limit rule on any machine, especially the stair master. One girl with brown hair is always on the stair master for over 90 minutes DAILY. This is just straight up ignorant and disrespectful, especially when there are only 3 working stair master machines. Seriously thinking about switching gyms because planet fitness isn’t even worth the headache.

Do not trust this place! They are scammers! Do not share any of your banking or credit card info with them. I signed up for a $15/month membership back in February. I noticed on my bank statement that they were charging me $30/month. I contacted the manager (John) to inquire why I was being charged $30 instead of $15. He claimed that there was a problem with my debit card, which resulted in a $15 late payment for each month, which resulted them using a secondary payment. This is absolutely NOT TRUE. There was no issue with my debit card at all, especially since they were billing it monthly. This place is trying to make extra quick money by scamming people. I did contact their corporate office, who said they will be investigating this. Hopefully, that is true.

Canceled my membership in person at this location weeks ago. When I saw today that I'm still being billed I called and Jesse picked up the phone. Jesse was immediately rude and acted bothered to do the job he’s paid to do. This is nothing new with this location, during my time here I have experienced horrible treatment from staff that I haven’t experienced at other locations. There are much better gym options in the area.

We are all busy and some of us intentionally picked a 24 hour gym to meet those needs. There are several weekends like now I would have liked to go work out as soon as I wake up. This place is closed every single time. I understand truncating hours, but I find it seriously bizarre that a gym that used to pride itself on 24 hours doesn't open at 5 AM at least seven days a week. I don't like to head off to the gym at 7 AM on the weekends because it cuts into too much family time. I would probably be a member forever but now new friends I meet will not join due to the inconvenient morning hours on the weekends. Other than that, I find the staff friendly and the times I've been there. The gym has been clean. A few months ago I saw there was a leak and it took a while to repair, but I think we all have dealt with that in the last few years getting contractors to work quickly. I don't find that to be their fault. I truly hope they can extend the hours on the weekends just a few more hours to meet the needs of new members looking for a gym. My fear is if they keep these hours in this convenient location, less than less people will be willing to join.

I like to go to several Planet Fitness locations and this one is always disappointing. Several machines are broken for an extented period of time, hand dryer in bathroom broken, paper towel dispenser broken or empty, staff is constantly on phone and don't want to be bothered, locker room is too small for number of members,
and bathroom is sometimes dirty. This location is very convenient for me but always disappointing.

Slightly annoyed with this location. I use the Red light therapy , there is 13 light bulbs out in the booth. When I mentioned it to the front desk ... I was told they have the bulbs in the back but their repair person can't install them?!. This gym needs to be maintained better. I've been going semi consistently for the last few months. It's a decent gym with nice staff and a pretty clean environment.
Seems like a good chunk of people wipe the machines off after use and the staff tend to go through and maintain the floor/areas regularly. I've never had any trouble trying to get to a machine but don't usually go during peak hours.

I think they could use a few more machines (chest specifically) throughout the gym but the space is a little small and already pretty full so they might be struggling to fit more.

Only major critique is the hours. I work late so I can only go at night and tend to forget that it closes early Friday - Sunday. Normally it's not a major issue I just wish it was a flat 24 hours throughout the week.

Been going to this gym for almost 4 years, I do not know what changed but it is not enjoyable anymore. The staff is uninterested and basically ignore you while their faces are in their phone - anyone could basically just walk in. The hours are just unacceptable, closing at 7pm on weekends?? There is not enough equipment or space in this facility for flow of members. The amount of members who bring their children and let them take up equipment while the plays on the phone is insane. This gym was rather convenient but I will be traveling the 30 extra minutes to a gym with friendly staff, room for the members, and 24 hour service.

I have had my bag gone through at least once month (dont keep anything in it worth $$), it doesn't fit in the lockers, there was rampant teenagers selling drugs in bathroom, bathroom always smells, smith machines have not been smooth for months, I can count at least one paper towel dispenser is empty every time if not multiple. I’ve been a loyal member at this Planet Fitness for over five
years, and I used to love the convenience of it being open 24 hours. Now, they’ve suddenly changed their hours, closing at 7 PM on weekends. Seriously, what gym closes that early on a weekend? Some of us work odd hours and need that flexibility!

The gym gets super crowded during peak times, and honestly, it can get really smelly in there when it’s packed. That’s why I like to go when it’s not so busy. But now, with these ridiculous hours, it feels like there’s no good time to get a decent workout without being crammed in with everyone else.

Plus, they recently raised the membership fees, but instead of more benefits, we’re getting fewer. Planet Fitness, if you’re going to increase prices, at least give us the flexibility of 24-hour access again or extend the weekend hours. Closing at 7 PM on Saturdays and Sundays just doesn’t make sense.

I was going to cancel my membership but they worked with me concerning my past dues after being away several months and were pleasant while doing so. Not able to cancel online, forced to drive down and cancel in person, despite being able to sign up online. That's a scummy practice designed to keep people paying and avoid cancellations.

When I first started going here it was a true 24 hour gym. Well staffed, clean and equipment well maintained. Since COVID the operating hours have changed numerous times, the paper towels are seldom refilled timely, and when equipment breaks down it's a 1 week turnaround time minimum. Right now the gym flooded and they haven't still put the mirrors back up yet or fully repaired it. It's been a few weeks. Hopefully this trend doesn't continue.

Starting coming to the gym with my sister. First off, like other people have reviewed it’s a nice gym. Lot of different varieties of equipment to use for the different types of exercises you want to use and easy to use. The women’s restroom facility is nice and well kept for a gym. Two complaint though and that is the amount of teenage boys and men but mostly the young teenagers that just stand around in front of the mirrors that are in the back of the gym just acting annoying and goofing off distracting others from actually trying to work out. Like last night, felt like I was being followed around by two boys that looked like they were about 16 or 18. Just wherever my sister and I would be, they would almost be right next to us and goofing off. A young women shouldn’t have to worry about being followed around at a gym while their trying to work out or not too long ago my sister was told by a older man that was working out and wanted the machine that she was using not to wipe down the equipment that she was using and she’s the type of person that will wipe down the machines before and after she uses them and after the older man said that to her. She was a little creeped and weirded out after the older man said that to her. So if your a young women be aware and on guard at this gym because there are creeps.

It's planet fitness, what did you expect? I only go off-hours so I can't speak for the crowd size, since it has always been fine for me past 8PM every day.

Yeah tons of people don't wipe off their machines, yeah the men's bathroom smells like piss, yeah they sometimes let the paper towel dispensers run out, yeah the workers behind the counter at midnight are falling asleep, but did you expect some flawless experience?

No, it's a cheap gym, and for that it's fantastic. $10 a month to just go whenever at midnight and get my cardio in, I'm thrilled. I don't really care about the little things.

I just wipe down my machines before AND after I use them, and it's all good! I don't expect the people at planet fitness to have perfect gym etiquette.

If you expect things to be perfect, well that's like walking into Walmart and expecting customer service like you're at whole foods. It's not gonna happen. Just set your expectations in the right spot! like 90-95% of the machines work, and things are relatively solid. Is it worth the price? Absolutely.

PF needs to contact this franchise and ask why it is in such poor condition. Every smith machine needs serviced. If you allow the bar to fall, it drops like a feather. If you push against it (Bench Press) you add an extra 10-20lbs. The men's sinks smell like backup sewage. I hate lifting here and I try to avoid this particular location as much as possible.

Super crowded on a Tuesday evening, so much so that I couldn't even get a picture of any of the equipment without another person in it. I won't do that - no lunks! - so we have only the outside today.

The thirty minute circuit worked well for me today and then I was able to pop into the locker room for a decent shower. Good changing area and the hot water worked well.

Definitely a good stop. One caution is the parking area. It is narrow and you must follow the directional signs. There is absolutely not enough room to fit two cars past each other and I did have some challenge finding a long enough space for the Sprinter van.

EDIT: I went into this gym to freeze my membership for a month. I was told that it was all set. Now four days later I see they took the fee out of my checking account anyway. EDIT#2 : I had to call the other location that I signed up into to figure out what was going on. That manager explained things that the Castle Shannon clerk didn't say anything about: You can't freeze your membership the day before it's due. Freeze your membership before/by the 10th. My advice to anybody is to ask for a manager. To be perfectly honest, I don't know if this is stated in the contract or not. ORIGINAL REVIEW: When I arrived, the person behind the counter was a different person and was also very knowledgeable about policies practices and what she had to do to fulfill my request. The gym also looked very clean. I hadn't worked out in that gym previously I am a black member and look forward to one day working out in that gym and the rest of them. Great customer service.

Many people enjoy working out at this gym, and I can certainly understand why. The facilities are well-maintained, and the equipment is top-notch. Additionally, the atmosphere at Planet Fitness is very supportive and welcoming, which makes it a great place to work out.

I’ve been holding off writing this. This location recently got new treadmills. Their appearance is nice, but that’s about it. I do running intervals (high speed, and then low speed quickly) and it takes about 10 seconds for the machine to catch up. Today I decided to walk on an 15% incline. When I I was done with this workout, I put the incline back down to 0% and it stayed at 15% no matter how many times I tried to get it down. The machine even said the incline was at 0% when it clearly was not. This was extremely frustrating as I just wanted to walk normally after completing a hard workout. Very frustrating!
