Love coming here, the staff is always helpful and friendly. Love all the new equipment. Mabye needs a little more organizing to streamline it, or I need to adapt lol. Machines break, I go to multiple of clubs and it's not uncommon. Happens when you have a popular gym, just takes time to get it fixed. It's normal. Only one thing to note and probably just close to scheduled cleaning anyway but the ceiling is looking rough. Will bump to 5 when this changes. Overall will recommend and do. ( No more dust! Looks amazing 🤩)

Overall this is a fairly nice club. If I could I would give it 3.5 Stars instead of 3. It has a good assortment of equipment and a generous assortment of cardio with some unique machines. The staff is generally friendly and personable, but it appears there is much difficulty keeping consistent staff.
It is a nice mix of people of all ages and I like observing and listening to younger and older exercisers alike.

The negatives are that it is at most times which are feasible to my schedule quite crowded and can be rather congested for the size of the club. I've also found that the restrooms and shower facilities are not as clean as they could be. In fact I recall in June and July of 2005 a urinal in the men's room was probably broken for 5 to 6 weeks straight . In the club nearest to where I live that urinal would have been fixed in 48 to 72 hours maximum ! Perhaps a little more attention needs to be paid to at least the men's locker room.
The other disappointment is that with the new renovation a number of ab machines have disappeared and the layout makes it hard to find machines sometimes. I realize this is upper management and not the manager of the club dictating these things, but it is not always easy to improvise when favored machines are taken away.

But when the closest club around is the Planet Fitness at Ephrata, I can generally achieve an adequate workout, and that is good enough for me!

This planet was organized great, example leg machines near legs, abs by abs.
But changed to add new equipment which I appreciate. But there has to be a flow. Just because corporate says show off new equipment, now I question if anyone has a clue or does a workout at planet from corporate if this is true. Then a so called manager instead of listening to me decided to argue with me and continue after I shut up. He obviously doesn’t use the gym. But that’s ok. Failed in so many ways. All you need to do is shut up as a manager listen to a complaint and take it to corporate or do nothing with it, which is what I’m sure he’s going to do.. but that’s OK. There’s plenty of other planets that are organized better. There’s absolutely no consistency in any planet fitness throughout the country.. which is very frustrating!
And honestly, the whole thing that started this was they put the full body in with the new squat racks which makes no sense . And btw haven’t seen this at any other planet! And I travel for work.

Called the day before to make sure it was ok to get membership at age 14 and lady said yes. The next day after paying for the membership, we went and they said u have to be 15 so u can't go.

The Planet Fitness in Ephrata is the best gym in the area. Beautiful and clean access to Tanning and Spa equipment and oh my God they have added all this new state-of-the-art equipment I have added 10 lbs to all my workouts and don't even notice the difference. New machines are not adjustable for shorter people like 5'4" and below. While you can adjust the seats (to a certain extent) it is not enough. The older equipment was more adjustable and adaptable to the shorter crowd. The leg extension machines the bottom pad does not lock the part of the machine that is to rest on your upper foot like the old one does and literally will slide off your feet, or you may find yourself putting more strength into trying to point your toes upward rather than your quads because it does not give good range, the seat doesn't go far enough either. The hip abductor machine can also transform and be used for hip adductions which is really awesome and I was so excited for, only to find out the seat doesn't adjust far enough (like all the other new equipment) and if you try to position yourself further in the seat the pads sit in your mid-thigh area, so you are unable to even target the muscle groups you can on most machines like that / the old machine. The abdominal machine was taken away and not replaced which was great for lower abdomen. The "crunch" machine, again doesn't work for shorter people and doesn't target the areas that the other machine did, there was no replacement for the old machine. The cable machines are so close together that if you are doing cable kick backs you're bound to kick someone or have to constantly look around to make sure you don't. This equipment is crammed together. This is awful. I spent years getting in the best shape of my life in this gym and now I'm going to lose all my progress. I've looked at other locations and it seems they're all going the same route with the new equipment. It's a shame because this gym was great. I can understand the upgrades but was greatly disappointed to see how the majority of the machines I used to get toned and maintain definition I am unable to use. Don't come to this gym if you're below 5'4" and want to use any equipment. I know this will be "taken into consideration" but sadly it will remain how it is now and will likely have to find a new gym. Staff here is always friendly. Before the updated machines I would have given this location 5 stars!! For a lot of people, fitness helps them not only with physical health but mental health. Now I am looking for a new gym unfortunately and truly was devastated with the equipment. It truly is incompatible for shorter individuals.

This planet fitness sucks. I've been coming here for almost 2 years, and the only consistent thing about the place is that it seems like there's constantly broken equipment, and it takes them multiple weeks to fix anything. Most of the staff is unfriendly. The place is now so packed that I end up waiting half an hour just to get into a machine. Anymore it's just a waste of time going here

I had a problem with billing so I went in and the gentlemen behind the counter was rude and basically laughed in my face saying there was nothing he could do I’d have to call the manager. So I called days later saying the manager wasn’t in. So I called when I was told he would be in and expressed my situation and was told the general manager would call me back and never did. It’s unfortunate. My situation was not delt with and it’s extremely frustrating that the customer service was extremely rude and unprofessional

Planet Fitness is a great gym for the basics, and I appreciated the clean environment, friendly staff, and overall positive vibe. It’s perfect if you’re looking to get in some cardio or use standard machines, as there are plenty of treadmills, ellipticals, and bikes available. However, I did feel there were a few too many cardio machines and not enough cable machines for strength training. During peak times, it can be challenging to get access to the cables, which are essential for a well-rounded workout. Overall, a solid gym experience but could benefit from more equipment variety for those focused on resistance training.

I have an issue with the circuit. I am using the lights and following rules and non circuit people come back and take over machines. They are jumping in front of me causing me to tell staff or tell them myself they need to yield to me. I've been talking to these folks and no one except one person knows about the circuit. They were not told. At first I thought it was people being rude, it is about the staff not explaining it to people. This is causing problems for me. One staff member wasn't doing his job when I approached him twice. He was making excuses, saying these people don't see a class and I'm a class. One person but a class. This place has created a hornets nest by not following their own rules. Take the signs down if you want a free for all. Secondly is these phones between reps. They create a distraction. Instead of waiting 30 seconds between reps, people get distracted and end up sitting on machinery for 5 minutes. It's annoying and needs addressed. My time is as important as theirs and to hold a machine hostage while you're looking at your phone is not acceptable. These issues can be fixed in a short time if the right person in charge is doing their job. I can handle this in 2 weeks. One more thing is the music. People listen to their own music. Please stop playing that music or if you must, mix it up. You have multi generations so play music from all to enjoy, not only one kind. The manager of this gym is now aware of current issues and if they are proficient in their duties change should be noticed without hesitation illness unless it is someone who does not have abilities to lead or problem solve.

Haven't been there in a while, but going back starting this week. I never had any issues here, other then one time when someone used the machines. They were hacking and didn't clean any of them off, I went to manager and they took care of it Right away. Always got a GR8 workout, whether on Treadmill or doing Weights. If they are anything like they were 1-1/2 ago will be GR8. 🏃🏃🏋️💪💕 Only reason didn't give 5 is because there is always room for improvement somewhere!
