Terrible experience. Cancelled my account with Zoe because my card got stolen just to have them send an email stating I have a late fee because I never paid. Even their desk Agent Anthony stated “there’s a lot of issues at this location so I don’t blame you for leaving. I’m doing the same thing as Amanda she went to another location / gym because it’s terrible here”. If the staff members are making these comments to the customers than know this location is not worth it.

Once again I show up for my morning workout to find nobody from the staff has shown up to work. I went to get gas, came back and waited an additional half hour yet still nobody came to work. The Vibe Has Shifted—and Not in a Good Way.
My partner and I have been going to this Planet Fitness location for about a year. When we first started, the energy was warm, welcoming, and encouraging—a real “Judgement Free Zone.” Unfortunately, that vibe has taken a nosedive.

These days, walking into the gym feels less like entering a supportive fitness environment and more like reporting to a middle school PE class—led by a teacher who’s a little too excited about being in charge. Instead of offering encouragement, the atmosphere feels tense, overly authoritative, and needlessly scrutinizing.

It’s hard to relax into a workout when you feel like you’re constantly being watched for minor “infractions. ” We’re adults. We’ve signed waivers. We’re here to take care of our bodies, not get scolded for warming up in a way that works for us or using the equipment we pay to use.

Speaking of which: my partner was recently told the tanning booth he requested wouldn’t be available for another eight minutes, only for it to become available in under one. This kind of dismissiveness makes it feel like paying extra for perks just earns you extra headaches and further disrespect.

Yes, the gym is very clean. That’s the one thing that has improved. But when the atmosphere turns from motivating to micromanaging like we are at work with an overbearing boss, cleanliness isn’t enough to make up for the shift in how members are treated. We’ve liked this location in the past for its price and convenience and fun energy —but lately, it’s started to feel like the gym thinks it’s doing us a favor by letting us in, rather than the other way around.

Several of our gym friends have noticed the same thing, and all of us are seriously considering switching to a gym where we’re treated with trust, professionalism, and basic respect. This isn’t what Planet Fitness was supposed to be—and it’s definitely not what we signed up for.

Recently, , this location has become overly strict about rules, seemingly just to assert management's presence. According to the Planet Fitness website, zip-up hoodies are permitted in the gym, yet this branch insists that if you remove your hoodie after warming up, you must stop your workout immediately and store it in a locker. Today, an associate interrupted my run specifically to instruct me either to put my hoodie back on or place it in a locker—disrupting my exercise over something trivial. Isn't this supposed to be a "Judgment Free Zone"? Older guys like myself prefer zip-up sweatshirts, but apparently, that's no longer acceptable here.

Edit: New rule... You cannot just scan in any more, you need to scan in with an associate watching you. Management seems to be on a power trip.

This isn’t my home gym, but it honestly felt like it could be. When I travel, this Planet Fitness is officially part of my route.

Zoe was holding it down at the front desk — professional, friendly, and fully present with each member she helped. She made everyone feel like a priority, and that kind of energy sets the tone for the whole place.

Tim, the GM, was out on the floor — not just overseeing things, but actively talking to members, offering help, and making sure folks were taken care of. You could tell he genuinely cares and leads by example.

Amanda was moving through the gym cleaning, and even she took the time to greet me before I could even say a word. All three of them — Zoe, Tim, and Amanda — greeted me independently, without being prompted. That level of hospitality created an atmosphere that was warm, welcoming, and positive.

Cleanliness? Spotless. Equipment, floors, locker rooms, and the men’s showers were all in top shape. It’s clear the team takes pride in keeping things clean and organized.

Friendly staff? Absolutely.
Good for beginners? No question.
Plenty of equipment? For sure.
Parking? Easy and stress-free.

Genuinely impressed. The vibe, the people, the professionalism this gym is run right. If you’re in the area, pull up. You’ll feel it the moment you walk in.

I just had the absolute worst experience with this company. Timothy was extremely unprofessional and rude. I called two days ago with a concern about my account and a female told me the manager was in a meeting and would call me back that day. I even made sure she had all of my information and asked multiple times and she promised someone would call me back that day. I never received a call and had to cancel an appointment because I was waiting for his call. Well, I just called back in today and got someone who claimed to be the general manager named Timothy who was extremely rude kept cutting me off and refused to tell me his last name. He told me he forgot to call me, and it must’ve slipped his mind and was not apologetic at all . I was very kind and professional to this individual and at no point was disrespectful or rude. I made it clear. I was trying to resolve an issue. He told me he’s hanging up on me and if I have a problem to call corporate, I said OK can I please have corporate‘s number and he told me no to look it up online. I felt extremely uncomfortable on this call and anyone who stands on their word and is a general manager of a company should not be afraid to give their full name if they stand on what they are telling the customer. I want a callback from someone who can help me with my problem because Timothy just wanted to argue and hang up on me. I am a customer who needs help and all I received was an argument and rudeness. The girl I talked to two days ago was very polite and professional. I was beyond disappointed with the way I was handled by this person who calls themselves, Timothy. I expect a callback since Timothy made it clear. He was hanging up on me and no longer willing to help me..

This is the perfect place to get started if you are just getting into working out. For the price you can't ask for much more you get all the machines you could need and more. It can get a bit crowded at times, but overall, it is a good, clean environment. I will say if you want to get into serious lifting, this may not be the place for you to stay long-term. It's definitely a judgment free zone and everyone there is extremely friendly. I've been going for 8 months and don't regret it one bit.

Everyone is so nice here. In the morning the parking lot looks full, but most people are walking so i dont have issuss getting on the machines i want. Plus this gym has a ton of space. Personally, the staff are much friendlier than the Manchester one. So, if you are trying to choose between the two, pick this one. Their equipment is super nice too since it is a newer gym.

Been a member since the first week this location opened.

Over the past several months I have noticed increased lack of cleaning from staff members. Staff used to be seen frequently dusting surfaces and taking better care of the club. Workout Equipment has a layer of static dust. The men’s bathroom urinals are frequently dirty. Idk if it’s a change in management or if it’s because the facility is a couple years old now.

Be careful signing up. My teenage son signed up at the Goldsboro, PA location in February 2022. We moved over an hour away in March unexpectedly. We have been trying to cancel my teenage son’s membership since we moved. A year later and they still keep charging his account. It is horrible. I suggest a different gym. Trying to cancel has been horrible. He never even used the membership. We have decided the only option is to close his bank account that he has had since 2015 in order to get away from Planet Fitness. Teens work hard to juggle school and work just to have money continually taken out of their account for something they never used.

Hands down, the CLEANEST, Planet Fitness I've ever been to. I wish the West and East York locations were as clean. The staff is very polite, and you see them walking around and vacuuming regularly. Even the tanning beds are nice and clean. No hair trapped underneath, all the bolts actually in the sockets, and clean floors. I don't want to post negative about the other locations, but they should take a lesson from this spot.

Signed up bout a month ago. Finally got in due to life. I wanted to change been able to go 3 times already in last week. And since I've been in ther mostly after 7pm... it's been quiet, few people, clean, great staff, and great members. I haven't had time to hit the tanning beds or the massage chairs... but the equipment works great, it's clean, you can tell it's newer, and the whole club even with a bunch of people like there was tonight. STILL felt open. And not super clustered.... I just appreciate having a place to go to that is an overall around great place with little to zero issue.
